Pastel De Nata | Workshop From Scratch | Porto's City Center

I ended up being the only one on my workshop with Vanessa and things couldn't have worked out better! Had an amazing time chatting and laughing as Vanessa guided me through the whole process. Incredibly lucky to have been able to do every step and can't wait to use what I've learnt to impress my friends at home. This an enjoyable way to break up a busy trip and learn how to make a very popular dessert specific to Portugal. We don't kake often, but will definitely be making these when we return home. Our instructor Vanessa was great. She kept everyone informed, entertained, and engaged. Great way to meet people from many different backgrounds! Highly recommend!

This was a fun way to learn to cook the pastels. Clara is fun, informative and encourages audience participation. In our group we made 3 each so able to take 1 each away, unless you can eat delicious pastels in a short so space of time. We especially chose this class over other pastels class as we could make the pastry too.

My son and I had a great time in this baking class. Vanessa's instructions throughout the class were easy to follow. She kept the class engaged with her lively personality. It was nice getting to know people from different countries. The length of time in the class was perfect and didn't feel rushed and the fee was fair. I'd certainly recommend this experience to others visiting Porto.

Thoroughly enjoyable experience. Small group of 8 people and a fantastic host that taught us all with skill and humour. The wine flowed, everyone played a part in making the pastel de natas and the end result was very tasty. If you like to have a crack at some baking, enjoy eating and drinking then this is for you.

I just loved this workshop. We we looked after by the fabulous Vanessa who was just great. I never got her to admit that I was the best student she had ever taught, but she did concede I was one of the best 👌 Seriously though, what a fun, interesting experience. Thoroughly recommended. And the results tasted amazing!!

This class was wonderful!! Our instructor was fabulous- fun, funny, and used a friendly format that included everyone in the prep/baking process. One of the highlights of my trip!! And delicious pastel de natas :)

The class was indeed fun and worth the time. Vanessa, the instructor - was down to Earth, funny, and knowledgeable in her craft. She kept the class entertaining and engaged throughout as we all took turns with the baking process. The nata’s turned out delicious and was a nice treat to take back with us. This was a wonderful experience and a nice added memory for my time here in Porto!

What a fantastic way to spend an afternoon! Incredible value for money, with plenty of local green wine flowing and we got 3 pastel de natas at the end (we got to take the ones we couldn’t eat!). Vanessa was funny, friendly, informative and knowledgable. Kept the whole class involved at every stage. Definitely book this, it’s a wonderful experience!

I really enjoyed this experience! The set up was very attractive and clean. Clara was knowledgeable and patient with our questions and put us at ease.

Great fun. The leader is cooky and bitter about lawyers. She did a good job engaging everyone in conversation with her and with others. The room was set up nicely, cleanly. The time allowed was perfect.

Not only did I learn to make Pastel de Nata, but what a fun experience. Clara was wonderful, patient and provided the history of the pastry. We learned how to make the pastries from scratch and enjoyed our efforts in the end. I would highly recommend this experience with Clara is you are in Porto.

We had the most amazing time learning to bake traditional pastel de nata in Portugal! A huge thank you to our instructor, Vanessa, who was so personable and kept us laughing throughout the whole class. The workshop was incredibly hands-on, and we all got to participate in multiple steps of the baking process. As a wonderful bonus, we got to enjoy delicious green wine and espresso while we baked. The fresh, warm tarts straight out of the oven were hands-down the best we've ever tasted. We can’t wait to try the recipe at home! If you are visiting Portugal, this class is an absolute must-do.

We had a great morning with Vanessa. Drinking a glass of wine and learning how to make pastel de nata was great experience. We each took turns with each step with interesting conversation. Eating our tarts was our reward. Vanessa kept the class moving along with each step.

I had a fantastic time at the Pastel de Nata cooking class! Clara is a wonderful teacher and our natas turned out deliciously, despite drinking lots of green wine which was freely flowing and included in the class :) She also gave some great recommendations for local Portuguese food spots - one of which I went to afterwards and was fab. Would definitely recommend to everyone!

Clara was so friendly and enthusiastic. We all took it in turns to help with the making of the natas. We had wine and water and 3 of the pastel de natas each! They were hobestly the best natas I have tasted!

Vanessa welcomed us with open arms. We immediately felt welcome and when she started with the course we knew we were in for a treat. From start to finish she entertained us and helped us all through the baking of some delicious nata’s. Her energy and enthusiasm transferred to us which made the whole activity a lot of fun! What a fun experience! The class size was perfect (there were 11 of us) and we all helped in the creation of the delicious pastry! Our pastry chef was fun and engaging and gave us really helpful tips for making the pastry on our own. I would recommend this to anyone looking for fun morning of laughter, learning and baking!

Most enjoyable class very information thoroughly explained and a lot of fun. It was two and half hours which was perfect and shorter would have been rushed
