Ask at the site, as your ticket may be the next station. Just because you choose English, doesn't mean it's all in English. Our guide spent half the time talking in Portuguese or Spanish, so we passed some things without learning anything. The sunset was good photographic. Theor was no tourist map offered to go with it. A map would be great to circle back to places of interest.

Just an extraordinary experience. The guides were so nice and so communicative. Above all the tour itself was so so good.
Best moliceiro! Dora was very funny, happy and very good guide!! We loved this trip!! Very mice all river!
This is one of the worst TripAdvisor trips ever. I booked for an English Moliceiro boat tour and I ended up with 4 different language boat, English, French, Spanish and Portuguese. Guide was translating all the time and no time for explaining the history of the boat and or the city. If the tour says English, it should just be English and not a variety of languages. Disappointed with the cost and the ride, maybe there’s a reason why they only got .50 Cent Euro as tip from the whole group.
It was as expected , the tour was done in 3 different languages
We had a reálky good time here So good
Great experience the boat tour guide was funny friendly and very knowledgeable. Thank you Dora for a great experience
Upon arrival, they just loaded us into any boat. We had requested 45min in English. Tour was maybe 35min. The guide spoke mostly in Portuguese, not bothering to translate. We learned nothing. When he did talk in English it was to make jokes, not to explain anything of value. Too expensive for a simple boat ride
What a lovely way of seeing Aveiro, Tiago and Rui were excellent guides and told us a bit more about the city as we passed by. Really recommend the experience. We got lucky with the weather as well.
We lucked out and got Dora and Capt Jack as our crew, and Dora made the whole experience so worth it! Very entertaining, she kept everyone on board engaged and spoke at least 4 languages! Not sure the stop in the town would have been worth it if not for the ride, but so glad we did!
I highly recommend this tour! In my opinion, it is a "must do" while in Aveiro. It was a beutiful ride and uts duration was the perfect amount of time for us.
We had a very fun time on this tour. Dora, our guide, was informative, and so much fun. Definitely try to get on one of the tours she is the guide on.
Chose this boat ride due to good reviews on Tripadvisor, but was very disappointed. There was no guiding along the ride, I just had to listen to a Japanese tour guide that other guests had with them. I saw with envy that all the boats we passed had guides who talked to the passengers, but unfortunately it was not possible to hear what their guides were saying.
It was alright. Guide spoke to French and Portuguese people mostly and a bit to the English people. It’s what to do in Aveiro but don’t come to the city just for this (like we did)
Was a nice tour and quite good expalantion by the guide during
It was so much fun! Our operator did karaoke with my son. It was chilly but we had the best time.
This wasn't so much a tour as a boat ride. Our guide seemed more interested in mugging it up and cracking jokes than providing information. We hoped to learn more about the town from this tour. And that's how it seemed to be advertised. That said it was a nice boat ride.
Not a very interesting boat ride but a pleasant way to enjoy 45 minutes on a sunny afternoon. Not much historical content.
Arrived on bus tour for a short stop off in Aveiro.. Grey sky, & misting rain threatening to stop our plans for a boat ride 🙄 Tourists & city folk were staying indoors!.. We walked by the Aveiro Moments cruise tent on the canal & asked when the next tour would go "We'll go in 10 minutes!!" What a treat that was!. They took us on the tour even though we were only 5 in the boat & it was misting & blowing! Claudio got out nice dry blankets for us to sit on & proceeded to fill the the time with funny jokes & lots of historical info & even some photos. He was personal, professional & a pleasure to spend time with! My only regret was that I had only less than a Euro on me to tip him on that rainy day & that would be divided with him & the motor man!! 🙄 Nothing to be done as we had to run to catch our tour bus.- p.f. Claudio, acepta mis disculpes! If you have Claudio as a guide, surprise him & give him an extra tip & tell him it's from the Canadian woman who thought he should work as a stand up comedian!! 😁 Thanks for making our day!!
Elsa, Captain, and her matey went beyond their call-of-duty to make the experience unforgettable. It was a rainy day and comfort was not an issue.
The guides helped us onto the boat and the ride started out festive and upbeat until one of the worker took a phone call. It totally changed the tone and the rest of the ride was quiet and somber. The views were beautiful and it was great for photos. Note that the channels are not that long, but it was an overall decent boat ride.
The main fun activity in aveiros! Relaxing and Enjoyable and guide had a good sense of humor to see the main canal and sights along it.
The commentary was minimal. If not for questioning the Tour Guide, it would have been just a boat ride down a canal. -------
We could have bought tickets right at the river site, but it was nice to know we had a certain time. Cost would be the same
Boat tour with jovial speaker and quiet man who steered the boat. While there wasn't much to see on the canals, it Would have been a more improved experience had there been commentary on the handful of old buildings that were left standing here and there, alongside the canals. We left feeling that it was more like a Disney ride. Not much was learned about the city, the old buildings we saw, the cleared lots and what once stood on them, etc. There were no recommendations at the end where we may wish to go to eat or to see, in an effort to promote Aveiro. Not much is visible to figure this out from the tour, since the bank sides were pretty barren. Across the street is a bakery, which was useful prior to cruise. Wouldn't go out of your way for the water ride.
With so many other beautiful areas of Portugal and things to see/do - this is one to skip. It is a canal near a highway with many modern buildings and seems to have lost its traditional perspective. The pictures are better than the real thing.
The boat ride was exceptionally well organized and operated with great professionalism. The itinerary was smooth, punctual, and efficiently managed, ensuring a pleasant experience for all passengers. The highlight of the excursion was undoubtedly our guide, whose engaging commentary combined detailed information with a delightful sense of humor. His knowledge and enthusiasm greatly enriched the journey, making it both educational and enjoyable. Overall, it was a thoroughly impressive and memorable experience.
A pleasant boat tour in a beautiful boat with informative and friendly staff seeing historic and scenic surroundings. Really enjoyed
The trip in what is laughingly called "the Venice of Portugal" was advertised as an Old Town and salt pans tour for 15 euros pp. The journey took 45 minutes. The Old Town views were nice, with a running commentary in 4 languages from the energetic Marcos. The salt pans element was a real disappointment. You had to stand on the central raised part of the boat to see over a wall for a glimpse of water. We expected to travel amongst or alongside the area. Not recommended unless you are desperate for the obligatory selfie on a colourful boat. The rest of Aveiro is however well worth a visit.
It was good to see but very hard to hear the lady. Wish there was a microphone. Good experience for our family. Would recommend to others
The expectation was for a guided tour. Far from it. If you are looking for guided tour, look for another option. If you are looking for canal tour, it's a choice.
Much ado about very little. Spent most of the time answering questions from tour guide as to where we are from etc as she had very little material with which to work Bring sun screen
Lovely boat ride through the canals of Aveiro, with a great guide who spoke at least three languages and was funny and entertaining in all. Aveiro is touristy but beautiful all the same. I would recommend not booking the boat through TripAdvisor as I did, as it cost €50, but would only have cost €36 for a family of four if we’d have paid the operator directly on the day.
A Moliceiro boat tour through the canals of Aveiro is a relaxing and nice way to view the city. The city and the tour is a bit like a Disney attraction, but is still a nice experience.
Nice boat ride with a bi-lingual tour guide. Repeated everything in English and explained the different parts and sites of the central city.
Great way to see Averio from a different view point as well As learn a bit more of Averios culture. Our guide Miguel was a fun time and considering he had to Repeat himself in 3-4 different languages was super impressive and he had quite the sense of humor! Good times
A thoroughly relaxing and insightful tour of Aveiro and its beautiful waterways in the company of a knowledgeable and entertaining local guide who spoke many languages. A must for any visitor
Great way to see the city especially if you are short on time. Our guide was great! The captain expertly guided us around the canals.
Excellent Tour thank you Miguel ( great sense of humour) so informative of Aveiro made the whole trip fun - spoke many languages luckily as my portuguese not great. Definitely recommend
Claudio, our guide, was the best! We had a really nice time! Great music during the trip! Nice views of Aveiro.
Friendly, personable, knowledgeable tour guide who spoke many different languages. Thoroughly enjoyed the boat trip!
Canal ride was beautiful. Our guide Miguel was very friendly and knowledgeable. He answered all of our questions and gave us some fun facts about the area
Very pleasant experience. We missed a train and arrived late, but they were able to accommodate us. The whole staff was very kind
We had our reservation for 9:00, when we went to check in they said would leave around 9:15-9:20. We didn’t leave until 9:30 and then kept coming back to pick up more people. Prepare to come back to the main area many times to pick up groups of people.
Cruising the limited waterways of Aveiro for an hour is not the worst way to spend an hour. I sort of quite enjoyed it. However the inconsistent customer interaction of the 'captain' and 'first mate' - veering violently from ignoring the passengers to aggressively hectoring them with 'comic' personas was a bit wearing and a little unpleasant. It could - in fact, it should - have been charming, but... it wasn't.
Easy to find and friendly staff. Time was flexible based on boat availability. We got there at our designated time and there was a boat available in 15 mins. Great cafe to grab a beverage or snack to wait.
Not a lot of historical information on what we were seeing. On the boat the guide spoke to 2 other groups in 2 different languages. The presentation was a marathon and I had difficulty hearing her.
The people in the counter not friendly at all and the tour guide explained really fast. I did this experience with another company 6 months ago and it was far better than this l e
We selected this as a stop to rest and have lunch on our wsy to Fatima. The tour is an ok activity to kill time, the canals are nothing to write home about. Super croweded waterwsy with their glorified “gondolas”. The term I read of “Venice” is just a catch. We loved walking around and the food.
Interesting trip through the canals of Aveiro by traditional moliceiro boat could have been so much better if the guide had given more facts and information about the town and spent less time flirting with some of the younger male passengers. There is so much to know about Aveiro - as we found by walking around - the guide really didn't maximise our experience.
