Ideal Clube De Fado

It was my first Fado experience and I absolutely loved it. The ambiance of the location, the professionalism of the staff and the quality of music and singing. I enjoyed every minute of it

A classy Fado show with a class of port. The venue is a cozy small place where every seat in the house is great!

It was a fun experience, Feda was great at explaining and showing us what to do. She was very friendly, professional and helpful. It would be better with few less people as it was tricky with sprinklers and ovens but overall we had a great time. For me the cakes actually tasted better than the ones we had in city 😋

I went to the late performance and really enjoyed the contrast between the two singers (one male, one female) and the excellent musicians. Highly recommended.

My husband and I wanted to experience the traditional music of Portugal, so we went to the Club Ideal to see a Fado show with a Port wine tasting. It was an intimate setting with friendly servers. I appreciated the tip that silence was required as this is a music listening room. The musicians were professional and talented and the music was deeply felt and expressed. I was able to deeply listen and had a total experience.

We booked direct with the venue and really enjoyed the experience. The music was excellent with two brilliant singers and two great musicians accompanying them. The venue was packed with about 70 attendees for the 6pm performance. Really would recommend. The hour whizzed by.

A polished Fado performance with excellent singers and musicians. I like the fact that you are not required to buy a meal as you are in the really touristy Fado venues. The venue itself is quite wide and not very deep - we were lucky to get seats in the middle. I can imagine if you were sitting far to one or other of the sides it would be a less satisfactory experience.

We were passing through Porto and really wanted to experience a Fado performance. We were concerned that the Ideal Club may not provide what we expected. We should not have worried. The whole performance was first class. Moving singing and exeptional musicianship. Good venue and ambience too. Recommended.

Fabulous musicianship from all. The clarity, power, and passion of the singers voices was superb and their vocal ranges were impressive. The guitar players were clearly very accomplished and it was great that they got to do a few pieces where they played without the singers so you could really appreciate their skills. Loved the show.

We did not want the watching a show over dinner so we opted for this experience. Two singers in a small venue for an hour. We thought it was a good experience and value for money.

We really enjoyed both the singers, especially the man, who had a beautiful voice and the guitarists who were great. The two hosts were very welcoming. Nice environment with little tables, candles and port made it cosy. Great air conditioning as well!

Excellent hour spent in the company of brilliant performers. The two singers were so good and the accompanying guitarists were top quality. We went to the show to learn more about Fado, and did not know what to expect, but we came away very glad we'd gone.

We did a fair bit of research before booking this Fado experience and weren't at all disappointed. The venue was beautiful and intimate; a darkened room, candlelit tables, a glass of Port wine and slick organisation. The performers were Wonderful; talented, passionate, engaged. You don't need to speak Portuguese to have fabulous experience.

Absolutely magnets. Two different solo singers, both have different styles and or equally magical. Guitar players were equally talented.

A lovely small intimate venue. Greeted with a glass of port. The hour performance was ideal for us to get a taste of the music. We had male and female performers and the two men on guitars were very good. Overall very good.

Exceptional: two stellar singers accompanied by two accomplished string players in an intimate venue. Port wine and/or water was an extra treat.

Show was as expected. But, we couldn't enjoy it because it was SO HOT in this room! Even the performers were sweating! We specifically picked this show because they had air conditioning, but they kept turning them off. With all those bodies in such a small space, it was miserably hot!

The Fado was fantastic the guitar players as well as the singers. Listening to the music took me to other worlds. Food was not served in the place - and that was good. Only a glass of wine

It was one of the highlights of my trip. The performance was engaging and energetic, while also offering a fascinating insight into local culture and traditions. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were friendly. The admission fee felt reasonable considering the quality of the show. The performance lasted just the right amount of time and kept the audience entertained from beginning to end. I would especially recommend this experience to anyone interested in music, dance, and authentic cultural performances.

The performers were fantastic and it was great to experience some Fado music. However there was loud music coming from a stage outside for about 15mins of the performance which really detracted from the atmosphere. The venue either needs soundproofing better or liasing with other performances taking place in the area. It was a shame because the performance was otherwise beautiful and evocative

What a beautiful evening listening and learning about Fado music. You don't have to understand Portuguese to appreciate and feel the performance.

There are many choices of venues in which to hear fado in Porto. What sets the Ideal Clube apart from all the others is their total focus on the music, enabling the listener to hear and feel the music without distraction. But equally important is their emplyment of absolutely first-rate singers and instrumentalists (I speak as a professional musician myself). Our evening was unforgettable, surely a highlight of our days in Porto.

The singers and guitarists are absolutely amazing. I appreciated the fact that the performance was for Fado only and that there were no interruptions for food or drink

It was an interesting show to watch and great that it was so intimate. My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5: we booked 8 tickets but were not able to sit together to enjoy the experience. It would have been great if they had reserved us a table.

Nice intemate club. Not sure what to expect but it was pleasantly surprising. Enjoyed it more than expected. Would have like to know if the song was romantic or sad before being sung. The musicians were excellent. Singers were very involved in the songs. No talking allowed. Very strict. Great.
