We booked the 3 hour morning motorbike and sidecar tour. It was really fun gently plodding around Porto and seeing some of the "off the beaten" track sights. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and great fun, with lots of interesting facts as we went around the city. He always found an interesting view and we managed to take lots of great pictures...Would thoroughly recommend.

The tour was fun and we got to see a lot of Porto. Tons of people were smiling at us along the way and seemed to want to join us. Pacio was a great guide and gave a great recommendation for seafood after the tour. Very enjoyable way to see the city
My cousin did this tour and highly recommended it, so glad he did! We loved our guide Pedro!! We was super easy to talk to, so knowledgeable and fun! We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and have already told others to take it! It’s different from any other kind of transportation and a great way to see the city and get a lay of the land quickly. Take this your, you won’t regret it! Obrigado Pedro! 😀
This was a fabulous experience. An informative, educational, imaginative, and above all enjoyable and entertaining tour. Joao’s knowledge and passion for all things ‘Porto’ is infectious combined with humour made for a fantastic tour. Just do it!
We had an amazing time with John, who is the owner of the company. We were out late to meet up with him and he was most gracious and extended our time. His knowledge of local history, is willingness to share pockets of neighborhoods that illustrated the type of development that occurred here over centuries was super interesting. And riding his motorcycle with sidecar was a blast. I wish I could hear you give him 10 stars here, do not hesitate to book his services. And did I mention that he basically serves as your personal tour guide? We could not have had a better time.
This experience was one of the very best “organised trips” we have ever had. Pedro our wonderful & knowledgable guide picked us up from outside our hotel & straight away suggested we might want a lightweight jacket or similar. We then set off on Josephine, as his bike was affectionately called. He was quite right. I rode pilluo. while my husband sat in the sidecar. Then followed a very generous three hours of exploring all around Porto and across the river to Gaia with various stops for a very informative chat about what we were looking at and the history of it. As we were getting towards the end of our tour, Pedro asked us if we would like to be taken back to our hotel and we suggested we fancy lunch somewhere, at this point we were on the waterfront in Gaia. Straightaway Pedro recommended a restaurant that was owned by a friend of his. He drove us there and jumped off the bike and went and spoke with the owner directly and we were able to get a front row table without having to queue as long as most of the other people there for which we were very grateful. We cannot recommend Porto side Cars highly enough and Pedro was just the perfect guide for us.
This is a great way to see Porto. Joao was both an excellent guide and motorcycle driver. We went to great vantage points and local stops with the opportunity to try some local snacks. He gave me a true local insight into the Porto lifestyle. Highly recommended.
This tour was by far the highlight on our European trip. Our guide Pedro was amazing. He took us to some incredible sights in Porto and his wealth of knowledge was exemplary. It was easy to book and Joao who took our booking was so accommodating as we had to change our times twice due to weather. He meet within our needs to assure this went ahead for us. If there is only one tour that you can do I would strongly suggest booking with these guys, you will not regret it. Thank you Pedro for making this a truly memorable experience for us, hopefully you get to Australia one day.
We wanted to do something special for our 40th anniversary. The lovely and knowledgeable Pedro took us around Porto and Gaia on his new motorbike and sidecar. It was a great and memorable trip.
Lots of fun and a different way to see the sights. You could walk but why would you when you can zip from Place to Place looking at everything with a great guide to showcase the best bits.
Such a fun experience with Pacio, our guide. We gained a good understanding of the layout of Porto and Pacio was very generous in imparting his knowledge of the city to us. We can highly recommend this tour.
The guide was fantastic. Hugely enthusiastic and very knowledgable. A great way to get an overview of and feel for the city in a short period of time
Don't think twice abut booking this tour. Seeing the sites in these unique sidecars was truly an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend. Our guides João and Pedro were incredibly.
Fantastic! Joao has excellent command of Portugal history, very engaging and fun spirited. Di many special extras with recommendations and local “bests” Highly recommend! Dave and Diane from Chicago
We absolutely loved our tour with Porto Side Tours—it was the perfect way to fall in love with Porto from the very start. Our guide brought the city to life with captivating stories, fascinating history, and insider knowledge, all while leading us through hidden corners we never would have discovered on our own. Every moment felt thoughtfully curated and effortlessly enjoyable. The experience ended on a high note with a refreshing glass of rosé, followed by a seamless drop-off at an incredible seafood restaurant—an ideal way to continue soaking in the city’s charm. If you want to truly make the most of your time in Porto, this tour is an absolute must
We had such a great time with Porto Sidecar tours! Fun, great energy, and attentive team that made us feel comfortable and looked after throughout the journey. I would definitely recommend it for corporate team activities, a fun experience with family or friends. It’s a wonderful and memorable way to see Porto from a different perspective!
We had the best city tour viewed from a sidecar. I can highly recommend this tour. Such a fun way to see the city. Our guides were amazing, very knowledgeable and kept us informed while we were relaxing in the sidecar. If you want an amazing alternative way to see the city, this is the tour for you.
One of the best excursions we've ever had! Juao was a warm, funny, entertaining guide, full of knowledge of and passion for the wonderful city of Porto. The side-car was a blast and very safe. We loved this experience. Highly recommended!
I had the best time on my sidecar. My driver was delightful. He showed me sights and important points of interest that I hadn't siren on my own. I know exactly where J want to go today because of my tour yesterday.
Joao and his team are fantastic - this is a great way to see Porto. Highly recommend!!
We did this tour on our first morning here and it was a very fun way to get familiar with Porto. Paseo asked what we had already seen and tailored the tour to our interests. Highly recommend!
Pacio was our guide on our sidecar journey. He told us about Porto and took us to see Gaia. He made a fabulous recommendation to Restaurante Vapor and showed us the beautiful oceanside as well as the river. We had so much fun exploring on our sidecar trip. Also the last tip he recommended - was the Portuguese ice cream at Cremosi - 😋 Yum!
A fantastic way to get to see the highlights of Porto and the hidden gems that only a local knows. Joao tells the history of Porto with passion ion
A novel and engaging way to see Porto. Our tour guide, Pacio, was very knowledgable, very pleasant and good craic (as we say in Ireland). Very safe in case anyone had any doubts. Would highly recommend.
Pacio was great and so was the tour. Would recommend this over all other tours motorbikes were safe and clean
João's sidecar tours are fantastic and well worth the money! Whether you've never been on a motorbike or are an avid rider, sidecars are a totally unique experience. João is also a brilliant guide and shows you parts of the city you're unlikely to find if exploring by yourself. Our 3 hour tour included a day's worth of sightseeing but always felt fun and relaxing. I'd do this again and again and again!
João’s tour with two motorcycles (sidecars attached) was a one-of-a-kind tour. Paulo is the second driver and very friendly. We made lots of great stops and learned quite a bit of history. The guides are great about taking lots of photos of your party. We were able to modify the trip a bit as it was raining the whole time. While the guides made it fun and brought rain gear, I do not recommend this wonderful tour in the rain. It is difficult to see through the helmet face guards with rain and the sights aren’t as brilliant. Here is an honest tip: one person in each sidecar (for a max of two). Any additional riders have to ride on the small seat behind the driver. In our case, it was fine, as my adult daughter is petite. For those curious, the motorcycles are not loud or smelly. The sidecars are comfortable. We highly recommend this tour!
By far, the highlight of our Porto experience was our tour with Sidecar Tours. My mother and I were taken around the city in style by the fantastic Oscar. It was such a treat to ride through side streets and hidden paths while learning about Porto’s history and seeing countless beautiful sights. We had an amazing time and truly can’t say enough good things about this experience.
I can honestly say this was some of the best money spent on our Porto vacation! Our guide, João, met us at our hotel ready for a 3-hour guided adventure. He arrived with a stunning new Ural motorcycle and sidecar in classic olive drab paint — such a stylish way to see the city! Helmets were provided, and before setting off we chatted about our interests and the sights we hoped to explore. From the moment we left the hotel, we felt like the envy of everyone we passed. The ride was smooth, the pace perfect — never rushed — and João’s knowledge of Porto was truly stellar. We cruised through charming side streets, visited historic churches, and stopped at cozy cafés, soaking up the city’s beauty and hospitality. João kept us entertained the entire time with his fun banter and fascinating local insights. His humor, warmth, and genuine love for Porto made this experience unforgettable. Thank you, João, for sharing your city and giving us such wonderful memories — this was truly a highlight of our trip!
Highly recommend this experience. Joao was very informative and friendly. A great selection of stops for art and history. We had a nice break for coffee and pastry and Joao coordinated my drop off at a small fishing village for lunch.
Pacio and Pedro were fantastic!!! This was easily the highlight of our week-long tour of Porto and Lisboa. We’d rate this tour as a 6-star tour if we could.
Joao was a wonderful host in a beautiful city. He is the friendliest, most informative guide. If there are places you b want to see..or don't want to see.. He will customize your experience. If you're not sure..he will offer suggestions. He knows the history and the current situation and future plans for many parts of Porto. The sidecar is so much fun! Everyone waves at you..kind of jealous at how you're getting around! Spending time with Joao is making a friend. Enjoy!
A different and fun way to see Porto, Oscar was our guide. He was knowledgeable and delightful. We highly recommend on mend Oscar and this tour.
A friend recommended this tour and we are so glad they did. It was such a fun way to see the city from ( quite literally ) one end to the other, plus Gaia over the river. Our driver was warm, friendly, knowledgeable and very flexible to include our preferences. We booked the trip for our first day and it was a brilliant way to get our bearings and decided which areas we wanted to return to to see more. Honestly I wish all cities offered this tour as it is much more fun than the hop on hop off bus!
What an awesome experience! Our side-car tour with Pedro was the highlight of our time in Porto. He was super friendly, polite, and made us feel like we were just hanging out with a friend while exploring the city. Pedro knows so much about Porto and shared great stories along the way, plus he took us to a fantastic local spot for lunch we never would’ve found on our own. The whole ride was fun from start to finish and such a unique and memorable way to see the city. Highly recommend!
Amazing way to see Porto and the surrounding areas from view points, history, street art to landmarks. Pacio our driver was have a wonderful tour offering just the right amount of information with regular breaks. This is a must tour to do early on your visit to Porto as you will get your bearings of the fantastic city 🇵🇹
We choose the 4 hour food tour and can honestly say Porto Sidecar Tours was THE absolute highlight of our trip, and that’s thanks entirely to our incredible guide, João. From the moment we hopped into the sidecar, João made us feel like we were spending the day with an old friend. His knowledge of Porto’s history, neighborhoods, and culinary culture was deep and engaging — but never rehearsed or robotic like you find at some places. We stopped at a few local cafes for coffee, drinks, and snacks. Places you would never think to stop if you were just strolling. João’s personal stories and context brought each one to life. The experience culminated in a traditional Sunday lunch by the sea, in a quiet fishing village we never would have discovered on our own. It was honest, hearty, and completely unforgettable. The grilled fish and Vinho Verde...... This tour gave us a true taste of Porto, both literally and culturally. If you’re even considering booking — do it. It’s not just a tour; it’s a memory you will take with you forever. Muito Obrigado João!
This tour was amazing! Outstanding and informative 3 hour tour with great photo opportunities! Our guide was so friendly and knowledgeable - we absolutely loved everything about it! One of our favorite tours on our European vacation!!
Our guide, Oscar, was extremely welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. He gave us a good insight to Porto and surrounding areas. We felt extremely safe and loved the unique experience. This was the highlight of our trip! We would thoroughly recommend this experience.
Excitement, history, and João that made us laugh all day! We loved every minute of this, next time we'll book the sunset!
Great guide, great way to get an overview of Poryo and Gaia and see the highlights. The route was tailored to our requirements based on what we preferred to see
Fabulous 3 hour tour of Porto. Such a cool and fun way of seeing this beautiful town. Great guide who knew all the best places to go. Could not think of a better way to be introduced to Porto.
The ABSOLUTE best thing we did in Porto. Joao, our driver put my nerves at ease (I was worried we may go fast) and the whole journey was at a leisurely and very safe pace. We saw things we would never have noticed or learned about in the city. Joao was so much fun, an absolute star! He took some amazing photos of us too! Please make sure you do this tour to get the best out of Porto! Do NOT miss this opportunity!
This is definitely an essential tour to see the real Porto! Our guides, Joao and Peter, gave us the most wonderful morning showing us around their city. We went to all the key landmarks, and Joao explained the history of each. We also saw places that we’d never have found by ourselves and got lots of tips and recommendations for places to go. Joao even organised an impromptu celebration for my partner’s birthday! The motorbike and sidecar ride felt very safe - helmets provided - and we travelled slowly to ensure we took in all there was to see. Highly recommend! Thank you PortoSideCar tours!
Fantastic afternoon with Pedro on the sidecar. He was truly an awesome guide and driver. Took us everywhere an accommodated request. An awesome way to see the city, learn the history, and take some great pictures. Highly recommend!!!
The sidecar tour was hands down one of the highlights of our trip to Porto! From the moment we hopped into the vintage sidecar, we knew we were in for something special. Our guide was not only incredibly knowledgeable about the city’s history and culture, but also super friendly and fun — it felt like exploring with a local friend. We cruised through the charming backstreets, past landmarks like the Sé Cathedral and Clérigos Tower, and even stopped for a breathtaking view over the Douro River. The pace was perfect, with plenty of time for photos and little stories along the way. It was such a unique and exciting way to see the city — far more personal and immersive than a typical bus tour. Highly recommend this to anyone visiting Porto. Whether it’s your first time or your fifth, seeing the city from a sidecar gives you a whole new perspective!
What an amazing way to spend morning exploring Porto from the outskirts to the heart of the town. Our guide was super informative and very knowledgeable
My wife and I have taken private tours in many cities across Europe, but experiencing Porto from the vantage point of a sidecar motorcycle was absolutely unique and unforgettable. This was our first visit to Porto, and we couldn't have asked for a better introduction to this beautiful city. The sidecar tour format is genius – it combines the best of all worlds. Unlike walking tours, we covered extensive ground and saw far more of Porto than would be possible on foot. Unlike traditional car or van tours, we remained outdoors with an intimate connection to our surroundings and maintained close proximity to our guide throughout the experience. Safety was never a concern. The sidecar is extremely comfortable and secure, operating at leisurely speeds that never exceeded 10 mph. This allowed us to fully appreciate the scenery while feeling completely safe. Our guide João "John" was absolutely exceptional. His perfect English, combined with his tremendous knowledge of Porto's culture and history, made every moment engaging. He was incredibly friendly and witty, keeping us both entertained and thoroughly educated about the city throughout the entire tour. We wholeheartedly recommend Porto SideCar Tours to anyone wanting to truly understand Porto's rich culture and fascinating history. Without hesitation, this ranks among the very best tours we've experienced in all of Europe.
It was an amazing 3 hour tour of the historic section of Porto and the City across the river. Pácio was our driver and went above and beyond. He took a lot of pictures of us and showed some amazing places. We didn’t realize it is a private tour with just the 2 of us. So glad it was because we were able to tailor as we went.
Fantastic - the most unique way to experience Porto - you’ll be the envy of all! Pacio was the consummate guide - passionate about his city, extremely knowledgeable and quick with a smile. Pacio was keen on safety and maneuvered us through traffic and pedestrians with the utmost care. There are not enough accolades for Pacio and the Porto Sidecar Tours - do not pass up the opportunity to experience Porto with this intimate tour!
