Guide was excellent. We saw all the highlights in the old town and he explained everything carefully in depth. We had a really great morning.

Also known as the Sé Catedral, is one of the city's oldest monuments and one of the most important local Romanesque monuments.
One of the world's most beautiful train stations, beaux arts São Bento bings you back to a more graceful age of rail travel. Completed in 1903, it seems to have been imported from 19th-century Paris with its mansard roof.
This street is full of bars and restaurants and has been a major part of the Porto nightlife ever since 2007.

Helen was warm, flexible and responsive. She Being a native, she had great insights and stories about Porto. She was able to customize tour to our needs and buy tickets for venue like the palace. Helen was easy to work with and had great recommendations for restaurants which we loved. We highly recommend Helen!
Our guide Andre was excellent and extremely knowledgeable! We walked through the city streets where he pointed out and explained all the buildings, markets and scenery we were seeing. He also recommended places to see on our own which we thoroughly enjoyed Porto is an amazing city!
Helena was very knowledgeable and entertaining. She had great insights on Porto and all its history. Our walking tour was wonderful and we learned a lot about the city.
Highly recommend Carlos as a tour guide in Porto, Portugal! We booked a private 4-hour walking tour and were impressed by Carlos's punctuality, despite the festivities from the night before. He met us at the designated spot, which required an Uber ride, and showed up shortly after we arrived. Carlos took us on an amazing tour of the city, sharing his knowledge and passion for Porto. He even helped us find a great spot for lunch. His professionalism and expertise made our tour unforgettable. Would definitely book him again for future tours!
What a turn of luck for us that Ana was available to give us a wonderful tour of Porto the city she loves with all her heart! We learned so much about history of the city, culture, saw hidden jems that only a local expert would know about. Ana was so easy to engage with - she was like our old friend who we met after a while and continued our conversation from the last chat we had :). We got to try local delicacies and learned about Portuguese and Porto traditional dishes and drinks! Ana went above and beyond and showed us so many more beautiful parts of the city even though it was not part of the original itinerary - what a treat! Thank you Ana for sharing you love and passion for your city - we now lovePorto with all our hearts and will definitely be back!
Joana was great! Great personality and knowledgeable about her city. Along the way we got to know her and her background and felt we had made a friend by the end of the tour. She even took the time after the tour to send us detailed recommendations about places to eat and other places to see. We highly recommend her!
Joao was terrific. We were an older group and he adapted to our slower pace right away. He was able to take us around the entire town to see the highlights while making sure we had time to rest. He is totally in tune with the vibe of Porto and the places most favored by locals. He was able to give us the backstories and interesting histories not found in guidebooks. Definitely use him as your guide.
We have 8 in our small group. Anna was very good in guiding us throughout the trip. We had a good dinner at the train station.
Francisca is one of the best guides I have ever met, if not the best! Her knowledge of Porto’s history, art, culture & dining is unparalleled. She’s warm and friendly (also super cool!), yet professional. She tailored the tour perfectly to suit our interests, so we enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you Francisca for such a wonderful day in Porto, it was one of the highlights of our European trip. We are so lucky to have met you!
Had a great time with Andre, a knowledgeable and very helpful guide. We did a nice customized tour. Very happy with his services.
Andre was prompt (actually, early!). In my 5 hour walking tour, he showed me all the architectural marvels throughout Porto, from medieval structures to modern ones. He is a wealth of historical knowledge, and could answer all of my questions. He showed me architectural oddities in town, such as the “hidden house”, nested between 2 enormous churches. He took me to an awesome bakery of pastry de nata (custard filled pastry), where we could watch the bakers create their nata masterpieces, and our treats were still hot out of the oven! He showed me the different decorative/protective tiles covering the buildings, and showed me how to determine the approximate age of the tiles. Our tour was entirely on foot, and Andre paid attention to whether I was comfortable or getting tired, or needing a break or hydration. He was acutely aware of my safety, especially when crossing the roads and in construction zones. He even made suggestions about activities I can do in Porto tomorrow. His English is excellent. Andre was an exceptional and ideal tour guide. I recommend him highly.
Many thanks to Andre for a fantastic and informative tour of Porto. We learned much of its history which was the reason we wanted to take the tour. He was friendly and we were able to move at our own pace to discover this beautiful city. Thanks again to Andre for his time and extensive knowledge.
Our 5-hour Porto city tour with Orlando was amazing! He has a wealth of knowledge of all aspects of Porto and used an iPad and maps to help us visualize the history. The pacing of the tour was perfect, and he even took the time at the end of the tour to drop us off at a great restaurant for lunch and also sent us some recommendations afterwards. I would highly recommend Orlando if you are looking for a Porto guide. It was a great day!
Livraria Lello in Porto iso ur favorite trip. Anyway, all other places also give us a cheers day on our trip .
Guide was very knowledgeable and had a great personality. It was very personal only my wife and I on the tour .
The bookstore and train station. Our guide was so helpful. Enjoyed our time with him. Purchased some books that we would never gotten in the U.S.
Andre was a great guide, very warm and friendly and extremely knowledgeable about Porto and its history. We had a super meandering tour from the university to the riverfront, visiting a nice mixture of famous and local sites. Everything became much more meaningful through his explanations and his background knowledge. A great tour and great value for money. (0ur tour was actually in March 2019, but I reposted due to Covid restricting the 2020 and 2021 tours)
I took this tour in 2018, but I could not enter that date here. I love Withlocals; each time i have visited Portugal I hired a Withlocal guide for each city we visited so we could get to know how to get around and have a tour created just for us with no one else. We really enjoyed this "alternative" view of Porto. Carlos was very accomodating and changed the tour a bit to meet our needs. I was able to get a sense of the old traditional art contrasting with the street art being done by artists of a different kind. Recommend for something different.
We thoroughly enjoyed our walk with Andre. He was extremely knowledgeable about the history and architecture of Porto. He had interesting stories to tell as well. In addition to the typical highlights (churches, monasteries, the bridge, the beautifully tiled train station) - the highlight for us was going into the back streets where the locals live - where there are no cars - and steps that seem to go on forever... Then Hidden Porto. Highly recommend tour with Andre.
My 2 friends and I had a very informative 3 hours with Andre. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. We covered many sights and KMs (miles) at a calm pace. We realy liked the secrets of Porto he shared with us and our tour around the very original tiny lanes of Porto.
We had a wonderful time touring with Andre. He has real passion for guiding you to the most wonderful places in Portugal. We took a introduction tour to Porto, Guimaraes/Braga tour and Coimbra tour on 3 separate days. He took us to the best non-touristy restaurants for lunch to taste the local food and wine. He does his tours in a relaxed manner without rushing you and answers your questions patiently. I highly recommend taking tour from Andre.
Mayumi was the ultimate guide for us. She understood we were relaxed and easygoing and adapted our tour perfectly to our needs. She was happy to answer any questions as well as offer historical comment along the way. A very smart and intuitive local who did a great job for us. Very good english and a good sense of humour. Highly recommended.
We met Andre and it was super easy to establish a connection with him Andre is friendly, kind, humorous and deeply knowledgeable about Portugal, Porto and its history, architecture. etc. He gives you a deep insight of the neighborhoods and will have answers to your questions. We spent a wonderful time together! Thank you, Andre! We hope to see you again.
We had a wonderful time and learned about the amazing history and architecture of Porto. We loved walking around with André. He is pasionate about Porto and history and loves to share stories. Also, he took his time to show us around and let us enjoy the city without time pressure (he stayed with us more than the tour duration and I really appreciate this) Obrigada, André!
My friend and I went on this fantastic tour with Andre in September 2019. We thoroughly enjoyed it as well as the stories and history of Porto. This tour is highly recommended for first-time visitors!
The three of us booked a tour for the morning we arrived in Porto from the US on an overnight flight in September 2019 (no option available to enter this date on TripAdvisor). We were SO jet lagged but dropped our bags at the hotel and hiked up the hill to our meeting spot at the Lions Fountain. We didn’t know what to expect, but luckily we were met by an extremely personable and knowledgeable guy with a wonderfully dry sense of humor and an extremely abundant knowledge of Porto! We are so glad we booked a tour with André! He is so kind, and really helped us understand so much about this beautiful city. We highly recommend his tour! It has helped us decide what we wanted to concentrate on in our visit. Thanks again, André! Our feet felt fine after our nap!
Carlos was a great tour guide, he went above and beyond by giving us history of Porto and street art as well as Harry Potter related sights. Would definitely recommend!
We had the great pleasure having Joana as our enthousiastic host for a somewhat different than usual walk through the great city of Oporto. If you want to know more about the present day conditions of this city and it's inhabitants, ask Joana and you'll have a great walk in Oporto. Do! Anjes & Leo
We were a group of 4 and this walking tour was the perfect solution to get a bird’s eye view of the city. Andre showed us sights and gave us information that we would never know. Excellent tour!
We meet Mayumi at the chosen location and from the start she was warm and welcoming. We had seen some of the city already so she quickly adapted her tour route to avoid the places we had been but filled us in on some of their history. Whilst on the tour Mayumi was happy to answer any questions we had about the city and it’s history. As the tour was concluding we asked about places to eat and drink that where away from the tourist areas to allow us to experience locals Porto. Mayumi showed us several bars and restaurants and recommended which food was good in each as well as showing us her great taste in wine. All in all we could not recommend a better tour guide. A great day had by all!
In 2019, we had about 3 hours to see the highlights of Porto. Andre chalked our the programme wonderfully so that we could cover most of them. He kept on telling the history while on walk & made the trip very very interesting. Thank you Andre.
We enjoyed our time with Teresa immensely! She gave us the history of the town while we also talked about how it is to live in Porto in current day. We covered a lot of territory at an easy pace. She’s knowledgeable and thoughtful about the tour she gives. (This tour was taken pre-pandemic, but was so good I want people who are just getting back to traveling to have a place to start!)
We had already walked around the city the previous afternoon but Teresa showed us much we hadn't seen, pointed out the tourist traps but also the sights worth seeing. We visited the interiors of some magnificent church's including the cathedral and learnt about their history and their saints. She answered all our questions knowledgeably with excellent English. Money very well spent. Thank you again Teresa for such an excellent tour
We had a great tour of the highlights and hidden gems of Porto with Teresa. She was very informative and answered all our questions. Highly recommend her.
Teresa was a very knowledgeable guide taking us into the Porto’s center and carefully explaining us the history and interesting facts about what we saw. Definitely recommend her for any tourist who wants to have a good view of the old center and to learn interesting things about Porto.
Luis showed us downtown Porto and it was the best experience ever. Luis makes you feel at home and within minutes it felt as we where visiting a friend instead of going on a city tour with a guide. When coming to Porto : don't hesitate and book with Luis!
Thanks to Bruno we had an awesome walk around Porto! Beacuse we live in the greater Porto area, Bruno adapted the tour to exclude what we had already seen and took us to areas that we didn´t know. He was professional and pleasant. At the end of the tour he showed us a restaurant where we could enjoy lunch which was inexpensive and delicious. We definately recommend Bruno! 7 July 2018
Rui was a warm and genuine host to give us a introduction to Porto. He's passionate about the history and stories of Porto which really gave us a feel for the life of the city. Thank you Rui! We actually visited in March 2019.
Our tour with Ana was great. We learn so much about Porto and about Portugal. Ana showed us many places in Porto who are only known for really locals. We were very lucky having Ana and we can warmly recommend Ana as a tour guide.
We had a very good tour with Ana. She was very informative and showed us places off the touristy sights. She gave us lots of history of buildings and areas in the old town. Ana also had a very engaging and friendly character. It’s as if we’ve been friends a long time!
We met Rui at the starting point just a bit early and from there saw the Cathedral, Clerigos Tower, University, Sao Bento Train Station, and many other sites. Also, stopped along the way to have a coffee and cookies, a small lunch and a pastel de nata to end the day. Porto is beautiful, and doing a tour with someone who grew up there and loves the city is the BEST way to see it. We really enjoyed spending the day with Rui and would do it again in a heartbeat! Highly recommended!
