From Porto: Small-group Douro Valley Tour With 4 Wineries

There is slightly more port than still wines. Combined, it’s a lot of drinking, if you ignore the discard jug, like I do. Our driver, Tiago was good and knowledgeable, but could have used a microphone for the people in the back. Wineries were all different and interesting. At the last one, where we had lunch, the staff left us alone for what seemed like a long time. Would have preferred to eat earlier. It was a fun and full day.

Everything was lovely. We had a fantastic day, and our guide Andres was wonderful.

VitorAlves, our guide, was a blast. Funny, personable, informative without being pedantic, and incredibly accommodating to our whims. We really appreciated the distinct characters of each of the wineries we visited, although, to be honest, I was buzzed by the second stop. And of course the scenery was beautiful. A great day, great weather, and a fun guide. Thanks, guys; Good job!

Our tour guide, Vitor, was informative, funny, and very personable. We felt like genuine friends by the end of the day. Each stop of the tour offered us a piece of Portugal and the D’Ouro Valley that we will always cherish. For us, this tour was priceless!

Great guide, Pedro, and great driver, Alex. Full day with excellent transportation and commentary. Great tasting, wonderful lunch with wine, beautiful boat ride, and another great tasting. Tasting included port and table wine. Though there is lots more to see and do, this trip makes us feel like we can truly say we have seen/done Douro Valley.

Booked with e.fun tours through Viator. Andres was our guide. I can recommend this marvellous tour to anyone, who is interested in viticulture. A superb experience conserning both, our guide and the cellars. It was a day spent not in vain … we have enjoyed every minute of it!

We had a great trip to the Douro Valley. Our guide,Pedro, was extremely knowledgeable about the wines, the geography and everything else we asked him. We went to a large port producer first and then to a smaller producer that made port and table wine. The tastings were wonderful at both stops. We then had lunch and port tasting at a beautiful restaurant un a small town. It was a great way to spend a day learning more about the region. As is the case with most tours, the guide can make the trip and ours was the best.

Our time was amazing. All 3 vineyards were beautiful and the wine delicious! Our tour guide Jojo was the best guide we've ever had in our lives! Entertaining, funny, knowledgeable, and remembered everyone's name!. He is truly remarkable!

Every vineyard was beautiful. Lunch was delicious. Altogether a lovely experience. The guide and everyone at the wineries were very knowledgeable and friendly. Only note would be to maybe add some way to recognize your tour guide in the morning. There were multiple tour groups so it was a bit confusing, but the guide was on top of it.

It was the best tour ever!!!! Tour guide read the room so well knowing it was an early morning, and kept through room alive in a perfect way. Also very funny and good sense of humor!!

The tour was absolutely fantastic. “Rocky” was very funny and personally also sharing plenty of history without the experience becoming a college lecture. I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for an Emerson’s wine experiences. This tour is age friendly but might be a bit boring for those not old enough to drink. João was amazing. It was very easy to navigate and communicate during the entire experience in English. The tour had an intimate wine experience which was nice and work it’s way to one of the most famous port produces in Portugal which was busier but did but did not intervene or inhibit experience in any way.

Our trip was excellent! A comfortable ride with amazing views…our tour guide, João “Johnny Rocket” was magnificent - funny, kind, and knowledgeable…our driver, Shayla, was safe and lovely….the food and wine were also fantastic!!!

We had an amazing day with Joao as our tour guide. The scenery, the wineries and the lunch were all fantastic. It’s a long day, but I highly recommend it. We did the group of 20 tour which was a nice size group and Joao made time on the bus a lot of fun!

What an amazing trip we have had. Sara was one of the most knowledgeable and hospitable fun hosts I have ever met. She gave us so much interesting information along our journey and encouraged a really positive vibe amongst our fellow travellers. We travelled in a very comfortable bus with Lucas our driver, who ensured we had a very relaxed journey and regular breaks. At each stop we received amazing wines, ports snacks and a fabulous lunch at our last destination. I would do this trip again in a heartbeat and would 100% recommend it.

Rita was our tour guide and she was phenomenal. Such great energy, very knowledgeable, and gave us lots of context and information through out the tour. The three wineries were beautiful and the tours of each winery helped deepen the experience. Can’t say enough lovely things about Rita! From 8am -6pm she kept the energy up and was so lovely.

Our tour guide, Joao, was hilarious, patient and knowledgeable. He was also helpful and accommodating in grabbing non-alcoholic alternatives when some of tourists tapped out early. The perfect guide for this 8-hour experience.

The experience was overall wonderful. We enjoyed many wineries and our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and personable. The driver also navigated the challenging roads with ease and it was nothing short of impressive. The weather was hot, but everything moved along at a rate that didn't allow the heat to affect anyone negatively. An overall positive atmosphere and environment. All the views were incredible.

We had an amazing experience with Paulo. He was great and took care of everyone as if they were like family. Would 100% recommend this experience. So many photo opportunities and we learned a lot. We had originally booked a different tour but the guide was ill so they upgraded us to this one. It was nice they provided a solution for us.

LOVED IT!!! Our guide Sara Fontes was incredible! She gave us a better experience than I thought was possible. I had my 10 month granddaughter with us and she was so patient and helpful with her. Paulo was incredible. This trip is worth the money 10x over. All travel is included, all tastings are included as well as a private high level lunch in an old home owned by the vineyards original owners. If you decide to do this tour which you will not regret as for your guide to be Paulo. He is a great asset to this team and makes you feel like a member of his family from the second you meet. Thanks for everything!

Cannot recommend enough, tastings were very generous and good quality and variety of ports and wines. I would recommend buying a bottle at the first stop where you stop for lunch, this had the best ports in my opinion with a 10, 20 and 30 year old, but once we left there was no opportunity to buy retroactively. Good size groups with only 20 in our van, great guides but could maybe provide a little more information about the region and port wines. Otherwise absolutely fantastic, would definitely book again.

We had an amazing experience visiting three beautiful wineries. I highly recommend asking for Rita when you book—she truly made the trip even more enjoyable with her knowledge, energy, and great sense of humor! We learned a lot about the different wines, got to rate several varieties, and shared plenty of laughs along the way. The entire experience felt safe, fun, and very well-organized. It was also surprisingly accommodating for both kids and older adults, which made it even more special for our group. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxed and educational wine tour!

Tour was delightful! Info packed, full day of trying different Port wines of the region. Our tour guide João was amazing. He made the tour fun and even added some karaoke for the ride home. Highly recommend this tour if you’re in the area
