From Porto: Douro Tour With Wine, Cruise And Viewpoint Half-day

We had a lovely tour through the Douro Valley with Castro and our drive Luís. It was informative and fun, with a lovely group of travelers. Can’t recommend enough!

Our guide Castro was awesome, knowledgeable and fun, very engaging. Luis our bus driver was very friendly and an excellent driver.

We had the best experience with Castro & Luis! The day trip really brings you to so many places in such a good amount of time, but nothing felt rushed. There are so many great photo ops and we learned a lot. Castro taught us a lot about the Duoro valley, port wine and Portugal in general. 10/10 would recommend this tour!

SLIMMY and nuno great tour guide and drivers. Worth the money. But take gravol if you get motion sickness driving. Otherwise awesome

Slimmy/nuno were our tour guides. The driving was good and slimmy was entertaining / informative. The boat tour was nice but I think it could be improved if the boat company explained the significance/pointed out what was around us.

We booked online with Living Tours and the whole experience has been brilliant. We were warmly greeted by Slimmy on arrival at the meeting point, and throughout the trip he worked hard to make sure everyone felt included, making connections with solo travellers and groups alike, being chatty and friendly to everyone. Slimmy and Ferro are very proud of their city and this comes across in the information shared during the trip, they want everyone to experience the best of this lovely area. It was also great fun with the whole group contributing to a playlist for the coach! The trip itself was well organised and packed with interesting stories and information, we loved the vineyard and boat trip. Thank you Slimmy and Ferro, you made the early start well worth it!

Our guide Slimmy was friendly and funny when he was explaining about Douro valley regions and port wines in general. He was also very helpful and considerate for customers’s needs. We were driven in mid sized bus which was quite comfortable. Ferro the driver was very smooth in driving through the winding and curving roads. I didn’t get any motion sickness. I am quite happy that I got to see beautiful landscape of the Douro Valley and tasted some famous port wines. Overall the trip length was perfect, since it ended before 3pm, so I can do some more exploring and shopping at Porto.

We booked with Living Tours and it was a very positive experience. We went with Slimmy (part time tour guide and musician) and Ferro (rock solid driver on narrow Douro roads), who were knowledgeable, proud of Porto and wanted to give the best experience to everyone. Their kindness and care shine through. A really enjoyable half day tour (with bonus singing and music choice on the drive and boat cruise)

Slimmy was an excellent guide, his English is quite good. We enjoyed his narration and it was a nice, relaxing half day. He's one of the best guides we've had on any tour. We far preferred this shorter trip over the 10 hour tours most companies offer.

Silva is a very reliable driver. The guide Licinio told us many interesting historical facts of Douro Valley. The vineyards we went to was beautiful, and the view on the river cruise was very nice. The food was good, but I wish there were some more vegetables/salad for non-vegetarian options, and 3pm was too late for lunch considering we started at 8am in the morning

We had such a wonderful experience exploring the Douro Valley! A huge thank you to our lovely tour guide Zara and our driver Joel, who were both amazing throughout the day. Zara was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and made the whole experience so enjoyable. A special mention to the Spotify playlist they had playing throughout the scenic drive, which was such a lovely touch and made the journey even more memorable! The tour was beautifully organised, and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Would definitely recommend! Thank you both for such a lovely day! ❤️

We really enjoyed our visit to the Douro Valley with Zara (guide) and Joel (driver). The minibus was comfortable and it was a lovely and relaxed day seeing the scenery and trying some wine and port at Quinta de São Luís. The boat ride was delightful as well!

A very all-rounded wine tasting and comprehensive guided tour experience! Tour includes 2 wine tasting and an authentic Portuguese lunch. Our guide Jeremy is knowledgeable and funny, along with our driver Luis who made sure our trip is safe.

Amazing Tour Guide & Driver — Rute and Marlon Deserve All the Praise! Our Douro Valley tour was an amazing experience, largely thanks to our incredible tour guide, **Rute, and driver, Marlon! Both were exceptionally kind, patient, and accommodating, and truly went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful experience. Rute was not only extremely knowledgeable about the Douro Valley and its history, but she was also funny, personable, and genuinely caring. She even took the time to give us fantastic recommendations for local restaurants and places to eat in Porto, which we really appreciated! I also want to give a special thank -you to both Rute and Marlon for how understanding they were when I became extremely carsick during the drive. They helped arrange a seat switch so I could sit in the front, which made a huge difference. Their patience, kindness, and willingness to accommodate me meant so much. My only complaints are with the tour company itself, NOT with Rute or Marlon. One of our friends booked the exact same tour separately and was assigned to a completely different bus and tour group\. What should have been a simple request to keep our group together turned into an unnecessarily frustrating ordeal. The company made it far more difficult than it needed to be and was surprisingly unaccommodating when we tried to resolve the situation. When people are traveling together and have booked the same experience, there should be a reasonable effort to keep them together, especially when the issue is brought to their attention. Additionally, because the meeting time was not scheduled early enough before the tour’s departure, the wine tour and tasting felt somewhat rushed because we were arriving a little late. This was another issue related to the company’s organization rather than to Rute or Marlon, who did their best to make the experience enjoyable and keep everything running smoothly. Thankfully, Rute went above and beyond to help resolve a situation that the company should have handled better in the first place. She genuinely cared about making things right and did more to accommodate us than the company itself. Her efforts did not go unnoticed, and we were incredibly grateful\ . **A word of advice to anyone booking: Make sure everyone in your group books under ONE reservation** Even if you book the same tour for the same day and time, the company may assign you to different buses, and getting that corrected can be much more difficult than it should be. The views of the Douro valley are unbelievable and beautiful and definitely worth it if you only have a few hours to visit. The company could learn a thing or two about customer service from Rute and Marlon. They are absolute gems and deserve recognition for the exceptional experience they provide. I would highly recommend taking a tour with these two
