This was the best tour. Julianna was incredible as a guide. She was knowledgeable, easy to interact with and interesting. The places are under the radar it seems but they are not to be missed while visiting Portugal. Gorgeous and charming!
Vitor was a great guide who provided so much historical information while being super funny and entertaining. I loved how relaxed the pace of the whole tour was as some tours can feel rushed. The food at the restaurant was delicious and so filling. Our entire group had an amazing time. A++
Historically amazing! Our guide was energetic and talkative. Each site was interesting and unique. Well worth it.
It was really good, the 3 wine tasting were good. A lot of Porto. Nuno was a amazing guide, funny, with a lot of knowlegde. He were able to answer all the questions and more.
Firstly, our tour guide Pedro was absolutely fantastic. Incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Braga and Guimarães! We had a small group tour which added to our enjoyment and the personalized touch. We would highly recommend him and book another experience.
Most enjoyable day. Well paced. Vitoe was informative without swamping us with too much info. Also made sure us older visitors were OK on the long staircase to top at Bom Jesus.. Included lunch was delicious.
We had an amazing day in Braga and Guimares. Our guide Vito Alves was very knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. He treated us to a real Portuguese meal in a family owned and run restaurant. We highly recommend him as a guide. E.fun tours provided comfortable transportation.
Fantastic full day tour with the best tour guide we have ever experienced! Rita was super knowledgable, attentive and kind. We were in a group of 4 with two elderly ladies (my mum and her best friend). Rita tailored the tour around our needs and walking abilities. Lunch was an experience in itself, we felt like a local Portuguese family. The car was very comfortable, spacious and new. Can’t rate this tour high enough, worth every single euro paid. Thank you Rita for such a memorable day.
Our guide Julianna was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and very friendly. She was like one of our group. The sites were a perfect way to see the towns.
Our guide Petro was fenomenal. We appreciate a lot his kindness and profesional knowledge. We highly recommend this trip.
First class. Very knowledgeable and flexible guide.
Vitor is a excellent driver and good storyteller. He finds the best local food in Guimaraes. The weather was cloudy and rainy that day but he tried to keep us dry as possible.
A wonderful day getting to know more about the history of Portugal. It was like going on a day trip with a friend who wanted to show you the interesting parts of her neighborhood. Juliana was friendly and gracious and very knowledgeable. Pick-ups and drop-offs were easy and speedy. There was no rushing about - Juliana understood the interest and abilities of everyone in our group and kept us active and engaged. Thank you ♡
Our guide Juliana had great energy, and adults and kids learned lots of great history. Very authentic lunch was delicious in Guimaraes and overall glad we booked this tour!
Vitor Alves was our guide today for a full day tour of Braga and Guimaraes. He was wonderful, knowledgeable, a terrific teacher, caring, attentive and funny! Enjoyed our time with him and learned a lot!
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip today and our guide Pedro made it that much better! The cities were very interesting and Pedro’s knowledge and organization really added to the entire experience! We would definitely look at booking another tour if/when we are back in Porto, thank you again!
We very much enjoyed Vitor Alves on our tour today and hope that he is our guide for our tour to the Douro Valley on March 18! He is a wealth of information and so pleasant! He was very aware of not overtaxing our energy while giving us a very thorough experience!
Excellent day out. Juliana looked after us brilliantly. She had great knowledge and made our day out fun and very interesting. Thoroughly enjoyed our trip
Tour guides Vitor and Rita were fantastic. Vitor was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all our questions and had pertinent information about all the areas we visited. Rita was along as a learning experience for the area, but was able to contribute greatly to our historical learning. The two of them made the full day tour most enjoyable. They were able to accommodate our mobility issues, and still were able to complete the tour itinerary. I would not hesitate to ask for either of them as our guide on another tour.
We had a perfect day with our guide Pedro. He explained the history very clearly and made everything easy to understand. The tour was very well paced, and we were able to see all the highlights without ever feeling rushed. Both cities Braga and Guimarães are incredibly beautiful and full of history. Pedro was also very knowledgeable and happy to answer questions along the way, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a wonderful day trip and a great way to explore these two amazing cities. I strongly recommend this tour.
Great day trip - informative, well-organized, and fun. Our guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and made learning about the history of the places that we visited enjoyable. Highly recommend!
Pedro and Thiago our tour guides were wonderful. Truly made our visit to Braga and Guimarães wonderful! They were courteous, knowledgeable and very professional.
Our tour guide Pedro Pais was awesome! Very knowledgeable and personable. Our entire day delivered more value than we expected. We walked through the medieval walls of Braga, and charming village of Guimaires, where we were provided with a delicious generous lunch at a traditional Portugese family restaurant, and a tour of the beautiful Bom Jesus Basilica and sanctuary grounds. Thank you Pedro for guiding a delightfully perfect day! Joanne and Michael, Vancouver Island, Canada
Our all day outing to Braga and Guimarães started with Vitor picking us up at our designated pickup spot near the Palácio da Bolsa. Vitor's cheerfulness and high energy was apparent. With Vitor leading our group, he freely shared historical context and additional insight on all things Portuguese. Vitor was a very safe driver and we had a total of four persons in the 12 passenger Mercedes van he was driving. Before heading to Braga city center, we first visited the Bom Jesus do Monte, a Catholic shrine located high on a hill. To reach the church, you have the option of climbing 583 steps, or taking the oldest water-powered funicular in Europe, or driving to the top. The view is incredible from the top, and after seeing the beautiful church sanctuary, we continued our trip to Braga. Before lunch, we visited the remarkable Braga Cathedral which is a mixture of architectural types. It is the oldest cathedral in Portugal, boasting 9 centuries of history. The baroque organ was magnificent, a real marvel and Vitor really highlighted many other interesting features within this old church. Afterwards, we drove to a restaurant for a traditional Portuguese lunch where they served us fish, pork and veal dishes with wine. It was a lovely lunch and a chance to talk about all the amazing sites we had visited. After lunch, we spent the afternoon visiting several ancient sites including Guimarães Castle, a 10th-century fortress and a site where templar knights were buried. The city hosts many devotees on their pilgrimages which I found fascinating. Lastly we had some time to look in a few shops before returning to Porto around 5:30 pm. This tour was really an excellent grounding in Portuguese history and visiting such a noteworthy set of churches and castles coupled with Vitor's extensive knowledge of the region made it a day we will not forget! Thanks Vitor for sharing your extensive knowledge and love of Portugal!!
Our guide Pedro was very kind ,polite informative, accommodating, knowledgeable and made the day a fun one. Pedro is the type of employee that all buisnesses would want to have and keep.
Our tour was beyond our expectations. Our driver/guide Victor was absolutely amazing. Knowledgeable, interesting, friendly, funny and very accommodating. The sites/ buildings were breathtaking. The lunch was outstanding. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
We booked the Braga and Guimarães Small-Group Tour with Lunch from Porto and it turned out to be the perfect way to kick off our vacation. The tour was private, which made it extra special — relaxed, comfortable, and tailored to our pace. Our guide, Pablo, was excellent — super knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about Portuguese history and culture. He shared so many interesting details about both cities that we would’ve missed on our own. The stops in Braga and Guimarães were beautiful — rich in history, full of charming streets, old churches, and lovely squares. Lunch was also fantastic, with authentic Portuguese dishes and local wine. It felt like a full, but never rushed, day — a great mix of sightseeing, history, and good food.
We absolutely loved our tour and would highly recommend it to everyone. Our guide, Julianna, was fantastic, friendly, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable.
A great trip with Juliana, very knowledgeable and made the trip really interesting. The lunch was excellent with 4 courses with wine / coffee included . Would definitely recommend.
Vitor was amazing! Really took the time to explain the things we were seeing and the rich history of Portugal. Very personable and took great care of my family. Highly recommended Vitor and efun tours!
Love this tour, beautiful Braga n Guimaraes, lively but relaxing small towns, with very knowledgeable guide, Vitor Alves, thank you.
Very entertaining and informative. Make sure you bring good shoes for walking. Especially the cathedral in Braga has a lot of steps, but you can get a ride to the top if you want
We were picked up by Paulo on time and spent the day with another couple. The tour was bilingual (English and Spanish). Paulo has lots of energy and is passionate about history. He had nice suggestions on what to taste in Braga (loved the “tibias”) and Guimaraes (dark chocolate liquor). We started the day in Braga and enjoyed the Bom Jesus most. Then went for an authentic dinner in Guimaraes with both fish and meat and a very tasteful vinho verde. Closed the day in Guimaraes city center.
I had an amazing time visiting Braga and Guimarães! Paulo was an amazing tour guide who is full of knowledge and experience and also brought a sense of humor on the trip! It was a small group as it was only my friend and another family so the experience felt more personalized. Overall great experience and I highly recommend Paulo
Paulo was an amazing guide and so incredibly knowledgeable of Portuguese history. He was so friendly and kind to our family and helped us with our daughters stroller. We really enjoyed our trip to both Braga and Guimarães and Paulo was the reason for that owing to his friendly and welcoming nature. It was a real pleasure to spend the day with him.
Tour was amazing! Excellent and informative …Victor was a wealth of knowledge and a pleasure to be with …all the food at the luncheon was delicious..perfect day!
We enjoyed an informative and entertaining lunch tour with Paolo. He guided us through the history of Portugal and the Iberian peninsula. Paolo’s genuine knowledge and enthusiasm were evident and made the tour very enjoyabl.
Great trip today Paulo was an excellent and knowledgeable guide. The destinations visited were first class
My wife, daughter and I joined this tour to visit Braga and Guimarães with another couple from Italy. Our guide and driver, Paulo, was amazing and made the experience very memorable. He was very welcoming, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the historic and cultural significance of all the sites in the tour. He was always checking to see if the guests were comfortable and happy with how things were going during the tour. His openness in sharing his own personal history and experiences made it easy to build relationships amongst the group. Paulo was not only our fantastic tour guide, he is now our friend in Porto.
We enjoyed an AMAZING tour to Braga and Guimarães. Our tour guide, Paulo, was extraordinary. He learned the names of each of the members of our small group, made each of us feel so welcome and created a friendly feeling amount all the guests. Paolo is incredibly knowledgeable about Braga, Guimarães and the history of Portugal. He shared so much history and has so much passion about this country. He was definitely one of the kindest, funniest, most thoughtful humans around. Lunch was absolutely delicious with plenty of fish, meat, and wine and delicious dessert with careful consideration for my fiancé who is gluten free. The sites we visited were beautiful and having Paolo explain the history made it so meaningful. His stories about history and culture made each point of the visit interesting. We had some time to walk around each city and even had a surprise visit along the way. Overall, a fabulous day trip with an extraordinary guide!!
We had an unforgettable experience on this tour, thanks largely to our guide, Paulo Coutinho. From start to finish, Paulo was engaging, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable. His storytelling brought the history of Portugal to life in such an entertaining way that even our kids were hanging on every word. The group was small, just 8 of us so it felt very personal and almost like a private tour. Paulo made everyone feel welcome and included. He even treated us to some local food, which was a wonderful surprise, and his restaurant recommendations were spot on. If you're visiting the castle, don’t miss the 8-minute 360° movie. It gives a great overview of Portugal's history and sets the tone perfectly for the rest of the experience. Paulo was truly the highlight of the tour. He's passionate about what he does, and it shows. If you're lucky enough to get him as your guide, you're in for a great time. Highly recommend!
Highly recommend for history lovers - Paolo was the best guide ever! Extremely knowledgeable and kind. Both cities offer good views and churches
Wonderful views and the Basilica in Braga and downtown Gumaires were really beautiful. Deserve the UNESCO World Heritage sites recognition.
Juliana was a great guide. She paced the tour to our needs. Braga and Guimaraes were charming and full of history.
Vitor was a great guide, never making us feel rushed at our various stops. He is very straight talking and energetic and gives a good insight into Portuguese history and modern life. Both cities have very attractive old town areas and are well worth seeing.
My husband and I, along with my sisters and their partners, took the Braga and Guimaraes Tour with Vitor. Vitor was an exceptional guide! His deep passion for what he does made the experience truly special. He was not only incredibly knowledgeable about this beautiful region, but he was extremely kind and helpful. We happened to be there when the power went out throughtout the country and neighbouring countries, and Vitor ensured we were well taken care of given there was no electricity anywhere. From start to finish, he made us feel completely at ease and went out of his way to make the tour memorable. His enthusiasm was contagious—we couldn’t have asked for a better guide!
Vitor was well informed, articulate, and fun to be with. He gave a wonderful presentation of Portuguese culture, history, and its art. He further advised us on what to see in other cities, which proved valuable. His English is fluent and colorful. A plus guide and a well organized tour.
Guide was great. Nice variety on the experience! Food at lunch was delicious. Wines and Port were wonderful. We had a beautiful day.
Pedro made a rainy day successful! Two beautiful cities. Lunch was very delicious and lots of options. The bon Jesus sanctuary and braga cathedral were the best parts.
