I have always wanted to see the suspension bridge, so I took the opportunity to go alone while the rest of my party stayed back for some R&R. The bridge itself was as cool as I had hoped and but the walk on the pathway was an unexpected lovely and peaceful surprise. The star of the show was our guide, Dani, who was patient, funny and knowledgeable. Thanks for keeping me company, Dani, and best of luck with your studies! I hope to see your home town very soon.

Our guide Tomaz was absolutely brilliant 👏 👌 from the get go he made everyone feel very comfortable and was very welcoming. He gave us all the information we needed and explained exactly what to expect at every stage of our journey. We were in a minibus with 6 other people and we all had a great time. We had the most exhausting but fantastic day and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a combination of thrills and relaxation!
Full day of travel with our excellent guide Dani!! From Porto to the Bridge, down the Paiva walkway, to a local spot for lunch in Arouca, to Aveiro and a canal boat ride to the colorful houses in Costa Nova then back to Porto! We arrived back happy and exhausted! Thanks to Dani for being a great guide and making everything fun!
Joao was a great great host. So likeable. And will give you so many tips for the rest of your vacation as well.
Great way to spend the day. Our driver Joao was absolutely fantastic and knowledgeable about Portugal. The lunch was perfect and one of our best meals while traveling.
I had a great time on my trip and enjoyed the different places during the day. Ricardo was a great guide and had a lot of info about the places on the trip and infos about Portugal and Porto in general.
Our guide, JP, was very nice, helpful and informative throughout the tour. We did this day tour with our 8-year-old daughter, and i was initially worried that the paved walkway might be too demanding for her. However, as we only walked downhill, it turned out to be a lovely walk, and she really enjoyed it (although she was exhausted afterwards!). Couldn’t recommend this tour more highly!
It was amazing! The pick-up point was easy to find. The guide, Dani, was amazing. He shared with us all the insights he had about everything on our trip and even told us where to get great local food. The lunch was tasty. We crossed the suspension bridge twice, as it is normal. We walked 3.4 km of paved walkways. We have also climbed down the stairs. It is a little demanding, but the view and the road is wonderfull. We had the admission for our launch, bridge and the walkways included. In Aveiro we took the boat ride. Dani called in advance just to make sure that there are enough free places. The boat trip was enjoyable. We have also visited Costa Nova and had a relaxing walk in the city center and on the beach close to the ocean. It wasn' crowdy at all. It worth it! I would do it again.
Loved the swing bridge , view was great , very well engineered, a little scary , but exciting at same time , walkway down river was beautiful , river water very clear , plenty of fish and trees a plenty , then off to the beach we went , the Norrh Atlantic Ocean , nice to see white sand fir miles and Averio was lovely with canals , recommend boat cruise around Chanel’s
What a great outing. Our guide JP was fantastic, the suspension bridge was exciting, the Paiva walkways were cool, Costa Nova beaches were beautiful and Aveiro was quite pretty. Very active day!
Highly recommend! Dani our guide was very knowledgeable and happy to accommodate any requests or answer any questions. We had fabulous warm sunny weather which made it even more special. Well paced between activities and free time.
Extra but a walk à bit too hard for 80 years old ! And a special thank to Tomas who was perfect in tha kindness and attentions
This is a must do experience in Northern Portugal. Bring plenty of water and wear comfortable shoes so that you are able to enjoy the day. Tour guide was prompt and courteous, and especially helpful as the last hill climb is a doozy!
I do not like heights. I had every intention of not doing the bridge. But honestly the tour guides encouraged me and I did it! So much fun. Bridge is very steady with no swinging. The steps and walk was beautiful but it is a lot. Everything was well timed and beautiful. The only thing I would say needs to improve is the meeting point is very unclear. It is on the street across from a statue
Costa was fantastic & very helpful & friendly. The pace was just right & not rushed. I liked that it was a small group of 8 people. Meet expectations & would highly recommend
Amazing day away from the city bustle, exciting stops and a top class guide. Definitely make sure you do this if you are heading to Porto!
A great tour if you want to explore some of the lesser known locations outside of Porto. Considering it was a long day, it flew by and every aspect of the trip was well planned and worth seeing. Be prepared to walk at least 5 miles with plenty of steps. João was a cracking guide and a really genuine guy, great to speak to and spend the day with. Definitely a trip and guide that I would recommend.
Joao was a great guide and lovely bloke. Excellent English and clear to understand. Small group in mini bus. Day ran on time. Easy pick up location. Be prepared for a fair amount of travelling time, but worth doing. The view from the suspension bridge was excellent. Walkways were easy as all down hill until the last few minutes, but lots of steps. Lovely and peaceful and not busy. Very tasty lunch - I had goat, but there were 4 options. Praia Da Costa Nova - wow what beautiful beach and very cool houses. Averio is a very pretty too. Boat trip €12. Nice experience. I would recommend this trip and Joao(hopefully spelt correctly).
Costa Nova and Aveiro were beautiful, each so unique. The highlight for us was the suspension bridge experience and the hike along the Paiva River. The walk is not for the faint of heart. While most is “downhill” there are a lot of steps especially in the first mile and total distance covered between the bridge and hike was close to 3.5 miles. It was a great experience and value. Our guide Costa was AWESOME!!
What a GREAT TOUR. Our guide, Arnaldo was TERRIFIC. The bridges were amazing. Aveiro and the coast were beautiful. Highly recommend!!
Fantastic guide who looked after everyone in the group. He was very friendly and very knowledgeable about the whole area. Very passionate about his job. Great to be out of the city for a while and spend a morning in the countryside. The bridge and the walk were both very pleasant. Lunch was good and a short stay to see the colourful seaside houses was wonderful.
Our guide João was very good, informative, knowledgeable, entertaining and accommodating. The suspension bridge and pathways had spectacular scenic views. The lunch at the local restaurant was delicious and the host was very hospitable. The stop at Costa Nova offered breathtaking views of both the river and the Atlantic Ocean. The beach and the surf were remarkable. Our stop in Aveiro offered beautiful cafés and shops with canal views. No wonder it is called the Venice of Portugal. Knowing what I know now I would not hesitate in booking this tour again. It was truly amazing.
Lots of walking so go in the morning because it’s cooler! The stops along the way were fabulous and “Jay” our guide was fantastic! Very informative and kind. Gave good directions on when to meet up etc.
Thomas was an excellent guide for the day! He was very warm and friendly and provided lots of helpful information about the country and the specific sites we were going to visit. He made sure everyone was completely looked after at every step. The suspension bridge and walkway were wonderful to visit with our early time slot. We had a good amount of time at each stop.
Tomas was such a great small groups leader! The tour itself was amazing. We loved our tour. If you aren’t much of a wine person or had older kids, I’d highly recommend this tour instead of a Douro Valley wine tasting!
A great day out with Danny. He was a reliable and informative guide. The van was not comfortable in the front middle seat- the position of the gear stick and engine underneath, forces the passenger’s left leg to be in an oblique position and causes left hip, knee and lower back pain. In order to provide a comfortable experience for all guests, the van should accommodate 7 passengers, not 8. The suspension bridge and hike was a fun thing to do. It was amazing to spend time in a UNESCO Heritage area. The lunch was a great chance to talk with the other guests over an authentic Portuguese meal. The boat trip at Aveiro was a nice thing to do, and optional. I personally did not appreciate the commentator/guide whose “sense of humour” was mostly inappropriate, and acknowledge this was not under the direct control of Ennetours. Danny’s interest in others and accommodating demeanour made it a very pleasant day. Thanks Danny!!!!
I met at the location specified five minutes before and they were exactly on time from there. Danni was our guide for the rest of the day along with his partners. We could’ve not asked for a better guide. Danni created an experience with humor information and by the end of the day friendship. OK guys OK guys are you ready guys? I’m telling you OK guys now. This is what you will hear and I believe it is his trademark saying. Nine hours for a tour can seem long, but Danni made this tour, enjoyable and timeless.
+ The bridge is cool + the way across the walkways is beautiful + small group +/ it's very structured, quite tightly so. Makes it so that a lot of different stops can be seen, but that also makes +/ food was OK +/ guide was OK, would have wished more conversations and interesting knowledge about the area +/ Aveiro and Costa Nova are OK. Would have loved a bit more time in nature, but it's conceptualised as more of a sightseeing tour.
Lovely full day out. Our guide Dani was very informative and helpful throughout. Credit to the company Thank you
Amazing experience, a full day of outdoor and Beautiful scenery! I was able to have a gluten free lunch with limited options, the activities were well organized, lots of cardio, an amazing experience! Ricardo is a pretty was an awesome tour guide!
Ricardo was a wonderful guide. Good knowledge to share, very engaging with the group, great tips for our stops. Kept us on schedule without rushing. Highly recommend.
Our guide Ricardo was a nice guy who shared some really cool facts along the way. The price for the day trip was absolutely fair, and we even got a delicious lunch! It was also very intimate because there were only eight of us, which made it really cozy.
Fantastic day which started with Ricardo (our guide) picking us up. He also facilited us all introducing ourselves to each other. Great bits of knowledge, and tips. Suspension bridge was great, wooden walkways took us through a beautiful part of the gorge. Lunch was lovely, Ricardo sat with us and kept us entertained and made sure we had what we needed. Aviero was a lovely additional stop.100% recommended
Awesome experience and amazing tour guide. It was a packed day but very worthwhile. The bridge itself is very massive but also very scenic. Bring plenty of sunscreen, you’ll sweat whatever you have off on the walk up. The lunch was divine! The owners were so accommodating. The boat tour was also great, free time in the area was just enough time without feeling rushed. Book this tour! Thank you Ricardo for a lovely day
Fantastic trip, our tour guide Costa was very friendly & very knowledgeable, he made the trip even better, great stop for lunch , would love to do this trip again.
This is an amazing day and great value for your money. The guide for our group was Thomas and he was brilliant. Great driver. Safe and sensible driver I should add. Small mini vans, non of the impersonal big bus tours. Fab lunch, 4 choices , and it came with a nice white port wine. Scary bridge crossing so don’t look down, followed by a long walk down the wooden walk way as well as the Indiana Jones bridge. I also got to dip my feet in the water as well. Visit to Costa Nova and Aviero the back to Porto. Trust me this is one of the best day trips I have ever taken and great value as well. If you get Thomas you are in the safest and best hands. Book it now people.
We went on the Aveiro, Paiva Walkways and Suspension Bridge from Porto excursion yesterday, and despite a storm of unusual heavy rain and wind throughout the day for Portugal, we had a great time. Costa was our guide, and he was super friendly and fun. Crossing the suspension bridge in pretty heavy rain, and gusts of wind, was exciting and unforgettable! Heading down the stairs in the rain provided unexpected views of nature during the storm. We were already quite wet, so all of us just walked along and enjoyed the visit. Lunch at Cafe de Jonas was truly delicious… and plentiful! We were thrilled that the sun came out to help dry us off when we stopped at the fisherman’s village of Costa Nova, and then Aviero, where we had some good laughs from the tour on the Moliceiros tour. Our best suggestions are to bring rain coats or ponchos, and wear waterproof shoes if there is a forecast of rain, and/or bring a full change of clothing (including a different pair of shoes) and a towel, as we were drenched, but the warm August temperature allowed the experience to be super fun! Thank you again to Costa for teaching us about Portugal, and for sharing the day with us!
This is a great value trip, Arouca for the suspension bridge and walkways, Costa Nova for the beach and fishing houses, and Aveiro for some charming town experiences - including the chance to try Ovos Moles. We had an amazing guide in Ricardo, who gave us lots of his knowledge and was friendly and helpful throughout. Highly recommend this trip
An incredible walk with breathtaking views, we did so much in this fun packed day. Ricardo was excellent from start to finish. He provided lots of recommendations for local activities, places to eat and photo opportunities. He though of everything from providing us with sample pastries and expressos to finish our lunch off to handing us a ribbon to make a wish at the bridge in Aveiro. He was the perfect balance of fun and relaxed. Thank you Ricardo! We'll let you know if our wishes come true.
The tour definitely had a lot of potential. I loved the suspension bridge and the walkways, but the Costa Nova time was too short. I also felt like the tour guide was not as knowledgeable about what made Costa Nova and Aveiro unique, and why it was worth going. We also didn’t receive enough recommendations to really take advantage of the two towns, felt too open, for someone who’s never been there before. Therefore it felt like we spent more time in the van, rather than the towns. The lunch was incredible. We also couldn’t hear the tour guide while sitting at the back of the van, so the tour guide wearing a microphone may be better. We also had passengers who didn’t speak English, and the tour guide didn’t use Google Translate to try to accommodate those guests. Overall, the first part of the tour before lunch was excellent, but the second half after lunch was pretty dull. I would’ve been fine with ending the tour after lunch. Perhaps Costa Nova and Aveiro should be left for a separate tour in order to understand and explore those better. Additionally, it will be helpful for the tour guide to be more knowledgeable about all the locations we are going to, as this tour wasn’t cheap.
We had a great day in Aveiro and the walkways and bridge were stunning! Thanks to our driver and guide Ricardo we learned about the environment and he was really entertaining. It was a small group of 8 people so we did not have to wait long to go to the next stop.
The whole day was full with exciting new experiences to enjoy. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The morning walk was lovely … the suspension bridge scary but exhilarating. The walk down the valley was beautiful, and all downhill. There are a lot of steps though and I felt like I was getting dizzy with them all but the views are worth it. Lunch was great and there was a lot of it. The trip to the seaside resort was lovely and the beach to die for. It is a real pity we did not get to stay longer here. The final destination, the little ‘Venice’ was also very charming. All in all, a very good day out!
Joao (Costa) was our fabulous guide on this trip. A superb bridge walk and hike, then on to an interesting canal ride through the history of Aveiro.
We had a great time exploring towns outside of Porto! Our guide, Costa, was THE BEST!! We enjoyed learning about Portugal and all of the places we experienced. Costa was a wonderful Portuguese ambassador!!!
We had a very well organized trip by a good guide
Thank you, Ricardo, for the wonderful trip. We enjoyed everything very much. Everything went perfectly – punctuality, transportation, and the food was delicious. We were there as a family and felt we were in good hands with Ricardo. Thank you for the great insider tips.
Great day full of adventure. Amazing views, beautiful landscape. The suspension bridge, walkways, and city stops were all great!
Fabulous tour! Our guide Tomas was great, very knowledgeable and entertaining. The lunch was amazing, everything was brilliant. Highly recommended.
Fantastic tour lots of free time and lots of information about Portuguese history. The suspension bridge was amazing and the walk was beautiful. Wear proper shoes and bring water. Would do again without hesitation.
Nicely packed day trip planned by our very friendly guide Ricardo! I loved how varied the experience was :) The only pity was spending such a short time in Costa Nova do Prado - would have been perfect just to have a few more minutes. But I understand that there's a schedule that needs be followed. A very good experience overall, would highly recommend!
