Your expert guide will collect you from your hotel/accommodation or meeting point and will drive you to the Amarante, our first stop. On your way to the Douro Region, your guide will give you insights regarding the Portuguese history, development and cultural facts of portuguese heritage.
Welcome to Amarante! Visitors will be awed by the majestic Serra do Marão and the Tâmega River, the longest tributary of the Douro. Legend says a Roman centurion named Amarantus founded this city, while St. Gonçalo, a Benedictine monk, built its famous bridge in the 13th century. Don't miss the renowned local sweets: papos de anjo, brisas do Tâmega, toucinho do céu, bolos de São Gonçalo, and galhofas.
Our second stop will be about 640 meters high. The lovely São Leonardo da Galafura Viewpoint is located in between Vila Real and Peso da Régua, on a place of Great natural beauty over the amazing Douro River, confirming the excellence of the ancient and historical Trás-os-Montes region. Here, the sights are breathtaking, with the Douro River leading the attentions, trimmed by the steep soils where the famous Douro wine is planted, providing wonderful landscapes.
It's now time for Lunch! Your guide will take you to a local restaurant where you will have a delicious traditional portuguese meal with drinks included. Try some of most traditional portuguese gastronomy pairing with some local Douro table wine. (Vegetarian option during lunch is available, make sure you request it during the booking process)
The N222 road, classified as the most beautiful road in the world, guides us along the south bank of the Douro River, for miles of pleasure, fascination and beautiful surroundings into the very heart of the Douro Wine Region.
Time to Sail on a scenic rabelo boat, sided by terraces where the vines that produce ours, and yet so global, Port grow. The vision from the river to both banks, in areas where only vineyards and wine farms exist, is a unique experience.
For an authentic vineyard experience, you will visit a vineyard estate, in the heart of the Douro Valley. Discover the secrets of the vineyards as you take a guided walking tour through the property, stopping at points of interest along the way and taking in the magnificent landscape of the vineyards. During the guided visit, and before returning to Porto, you will also enjoy the unforgettable experience of tasting of different wines.
We had a great day exploring the Douro Valley with our guide, Alexandra. We enjoyed a river cruise, visited Quinta Santa Eufèmia winery for wine tasting and then Quinta De Santa Julia for wine tasting and a traditional Portuguese lunch. Our guide was Beatriz and our driver was Ana, and they were both amazing! Bea was a wealth of stories and history of the Douro valley and port wine, and Ana navigated our bus through winding roads and tight spaces with skill and excellent taste in music! We enjoyed our wine tastings and a really excellent meal. Try the 30 year port! The boat ride was beautiful and we had such great weather. This was a great tour and so enjoyable!
Look no further than this trip. Absolutely as wonderful as all the other reviews have suggested. Fun stop in a cute town for pastries and sites followed by winetasting at a beautiful vineyard then 50 minute DOURO boat tour ending with the most splendid lunch and further wine tasting. Ended in their beautiful garden.Ana was an incredible driver !!! And Beatrix was the hostesses with the mostest. Energetic, funny and educational (working on phd in history too)

This trip was a lot of fun! The pick up location for us was perfect, we had an Airbnb across the street. We were definitely hungover and tired, but our guide Beatriz and driver Ana kicked us in the face with fun and excitement. The cost of the trip is well worth it. We had wine, port, lunch, and boat cruise and we all agreed this was a great deal. It's a long drive, but it doesn't feel like it. Beatriz told us a lot about the history of Portugal and the Duoro Valley. Her and Ana were very nice. Ana was great driver through the winding roads while Bea gave us all the info.
The tour does everything for you you’d need to see in Douro Valley. If you get Beatriz and Ana, you’re in for a real treat. Ana is a professional behind the wheel and gets you through the tour so perfectly. Beatriz knows so much! You learn the entire trip and she makes sure you meet every timeline for the activities planned. It’s a full day tour, but you’re well taken care of the entire time. Book it.

A great way to see Douro Valley! A very enjoyable day. Meeting place was very easy to find. Our driver Ana did a great job and made the ride feel very safe. Our guide Beatriz had lots of information to share and many stories. Lunch was enjoyable. Bea went to lots of trouble making sure all dietary issues were addressed. They both made the day great for our grandson by making sure he had a car seat and that there was juice for him at the tastings. Highly recommend this trip!
We had a lovely time going up to the Douro Valley. We’re a little worried about bringing a 2 1/2 year old, but Beatriz and Ana were phenomenal. They made sure we had the correct car seat for the trip and we had such an amazing time. Lunch and lots of wine throughout the trip and so much knowledge!

Booked a day trip to the Douro valley and was very impressed with the whole experience. Great value for money with transport to the Douro valley, a huge, delicious lunch, river cruise, 2 wine tastings and a visit to the Amarante town all included. Beatriz was a fantastic guide, kept up the vibes all day with her enthusiasm and shared lots of information about Porto’s history and culture. Our driver Ana was also brilliant, especially to navigate the winding roads. Highly recommend this experience, I got to see it all in one day.

You take a bus ride through the beautiful Douro Valley and explore a tasting at a wine producer and we had a fantastic lunch and tasting at another winery. All included. Alexander was excellent and very fluent in French and in English. We had a great time and learned a lot about the region. The quality of the tour was great with enough amount of time to enjoy every stage of the tour. The bus was clean and AC was adequate. Ana and Alexander were very friendly, answered every question and they both were very knowledgeable about the region. We’ll definitely recommend this tour for a day trip.
