Your experience starts at our Meeting Point, next to S. Bento Station and you will meet your guide that will drive you to the Amarante, our first stop. On your way to the Douro Region, your guide will give you insights regarding the Portuguese history, development and cultural facts of portuguese heritage.
Amarante, our first stop, features the majestic Serra do Marão and the river Tâmega, which flows through the city and adds charm to its picturesque houses. The city, possibly founded by the Roman centurion Amarantus, links the provinces of Minho and Trás-os-Montes. In the 13th century, St. Gonçalo, a Benedictine monk and the city's patron saint, built a bridge over the Tâmega. Amarante is also renowned for its sweets, including papos de anjo, brisas do Tâmega, toucinho do céu, bolos de São Gonçalo, and galhofas, which can be found in local cake-shops and cafés.
Our second stop, at 640 meters high, is the São Leonardo da Galafura Viewpoint between Vila Real and Peso da Régua. This spot offers breathtaking views of the Douro River and the steep, vineyard-covered slopes of the historic Trás-os-Montes region.
It's now time for Lunch! Your guide will take you to a local restaurant where you will have a delicious traditional all-inclusive portuguese meal. Try some of most traditional portuguese gastronomy pairing with some local Douro table wines. (Vegetarian option for lunch is available, make sure you request it during the booking process)
The N222 road is classified as the most beautiful road in the world and guides us along the south bank of the Douro River, for miles of pleasure, fascination and beautiful surroundings into the very heart of the Douro Wine Region.
Time to Sail on a scenic Rabelo boat, sided by terraces where the vines that produce ours, and yet so global, Port grow. The vision from the river to both banks, in areas where only vineyards and wine farms exist, is a unique experience.
For an authentic vineyard experience, you will visit a vineyard estate, in the heart of the Douro Valley. Discover the secrets of the vineyards as you take a guided walking tour through the property, stopping at points of interest along the way and taking in the magnificent landscape of the vineyards. During the guided visit, and before returning to Porto, you will also enjoy the unforgettable experience of tasting of different wines.

We had a great trip to the Douro Valley. This tour was well paced and had a good mix of history, scenery, local food and wine tasting. Our guide Pedro (Costa) kept us informed and amused with fun facts and our driver Maykel drove the mountain roads safely.

Miguel as a guide was brilliant, knowlegable, funny and patient, delivered our tour excellently In both English and Spanish. Maykel the driver did a superb job of controlling the bus on some twisting rising and falling roads never sharp on the brakes or acceleration and smooth through corners. The tour itself was a great way to see the wine region of the Douro, brilliant roads and stunning scenery even the motorway sections had good views. The boat section was chilled out. The lunch stop was probably the bit I liked least. The restaurant has the most stunning location atop a mountain with views probably unrivalled in the region but the food although edible didn’t quite hit the spot for me and you don’t get a choice in what’s served. The wine cellar tour and tasting was decent you get knowledge of the steps they take to produce different wines from there own vines and then sampled 3 the Port one being my favourite. As a package for what I paid via booking.com it was incredible value for a day out for what you got to see and do and I’d highly recommend.
I got tipsy at the winery and realized I forgot my phone - the best driver (Maykel) drove backwards, without rear mirrors all the way back to the winery to retrieve it for me hahaha so skilled and touched! Photo was taken by our hilarious and best guide (Miguel) who gave us a day trip that we will remember for the rest of our lives! We absolutely hit the jackpot with our choice of guided tour through the Douro Valley! The stops along the way were lovely, and the scenery was absolutely stunning. BUT the real highlight of the day was our incredibly entertaining guide, Miquel! He mixed fascinating facts with fun competitions, personal stories and humour worthy of a stand-up comedian. 5 Star tour! We had the best 10 hour Douro Valley tour with Miguel (guide) and Maykel (driver) today. The itinerary was wonderful with river cruise, lunch and wine tasting. Miguel kept us engaged with his knowledge but also entertaining throughout the day. Maykel was the best driver. He was a pro! It was a memorable trip and would highly recommend for all to join.

Had a great tour of Douro valley with driver Andre and guide Rita. Visited two wineries. A smaller family owned winery that served a great lunch and a wine tasting. The second a large winery but a great informative tour. Also a river tour was included and a short coffee break in one of the small towns enroute. A full day but worth every minute. The whole trip was scenic great picture taking opportunities.

We were looking forward to this tour as the reviews were all very positive. The tour provided an opportunity to see the impressive Douro Valley and hear the history of this region. Be aware you spend a long time on the bus travelling which limits the time for (and depth of) activities. The wine tour was informative but the tasting was cursory. The boat trip, in a beautiful environment was relaxing, as described but that’s all; literally a boat ride.
