Douro Valley Tour Wine And Breathtaking Views

We had a great time with Fernando. We did 3 different tours with him Day 1 Schist Village, Aveiro & Costa Nova Day 2 Guimaraes & Braga Day 3 Douro Valley He was very accommodative. For day 1 we had planned to go to Visue but we changed it to Schist Village just a couple of days before our tour & he was happy to change it Overall we had a fantastic time. Thanks Fernando

Fernando was an absolutely excellent tour guide and private driver! From the very beginning, he was attentive, accommodating, and especially mindful of my aunt’s mobility needs, making sure we were comfortable throughout our journey. Day 1: Douro Valley Wine Country 🍇 Our first day was spent touring the beautiful wineries of the Douro Valley. The views were absolutely incredible! Fernando went above and beyond by constantly taking photos of us so we would have wonderful memories to look back on. Our lunch in Sabrosa was also incredible, featuring delicious regional Portuguese dishes. Day 2: Porto to Lisbon with Amazing Stops Along the Way On our second day, Fernando drove us from our hotel in Porto to Lisbon, turning what could have been just a transfer into a wonderful sightseeing adventure! We visited Aveiro Costa Nova (fish village) the beautiful Mosteiro da Batalha church, Fátima, and Óbidos. It was such a lovely day filled with beautiful sights and memorable experiences. Since this was my first time visiting Portugal, I wasn't entirely sure what we should see or do. Fernando offered wonderful suggestions and options, allowing us to make the most of our time and experience so much more than we could have on our own. If you're looking for a private driver who is knowledgeable, thoughtful, accommodating, and genuinely cares about making your trip special, I highly recommend Fernando! He helped make our first visit to Portugal truly memorable. When I return to Portugal, I will absolutely use his services again. Fernando was a delightful driver and guide. He was so sweet, kind, considerate and informative. He spend the entire day, 12 hrs, picking us up promptly at our hotel, driving us to, through, and around the special Quintas in the Douro Valley, and back to Porto for the sunset over the city. He went above and beyond organizeing visits to Quinta’s we specifically requested. When our choice for lunch was not available, he organized an alternative that was exceptional. A delightful day.

I did a lot of research before I chose Fernando to be our private guide for our Douro Valley tour, I spoke with him a couple of times prior to booking, his responses were positive and enthusiastic throughout. We agreed a date, an itinerary and at 08.15 am Fernando arrived to collect my partner Jill and myself from our hotel. From the moment we met Fernando, we knew we had made the right decision, our first stop was an amazing family vineyard high in the hills for olive oil and wine tasting, we were the first visitors of the day, and the hosts were fantastic, it was obvious that Fernando had a great relationship with this family, we spent the morning sharing some fantastic viewing points, an equally fantastic lunch in a small village and after a number of other stops we arrived in Pinhao, where we enjoyed a lovely river cruise. The weather was spectacular, our guide Fernando was absolutely great company throughout the day, his local knowledge was much appreciated and at the end of our tour we arrived back at our hotel around 18.30, a long day in theory, but it was so well planned, and we were lucky to see areas of the Douro Valley that most large tour visitors will never get to see. At the end of the tour we both felt that we had made a real friend in Fernando, a true gentleman who really knows his stuff, it was certainly the highlight of our 4 day visit to Porto, and we would certainly give him 10 stars if we could have ! Would not hesitate to look at the varied tours Fernando offers and book any of them in the future.

We booked a private tour of the Douro Valley with our guide Fernando, and I’m so happy we did. The day was simply fantastic and Fernando took care of everything. Our day started at 8am with Fernando picking up our group of four. I suggest you start the day early as the drive can take up to two hours one way. Fernando offered to stop early for a coffee, but we opted to press on. Fernando took time to point out sights or specifics as we drove. I appreciated that his commentary was always a value add. Otherwise, he allowed us to socialize and converse. Our trip included stops at Seara and Sandeman wineries. While Sandeman was more commercial, Seara was very personal. Our host at Seara, Marco, was well acquainted with Fernando. Here we walked the cellars and discussed the process of winemaking in detail. In Napa, the same experience costs a small fortune. For lunch Fernando stopped at a local restaurant serving traditional Portuguese dishes. At the conclusion of our trip, Fernando shared a number of photos he’d taken throughout the day. If you have an opportunity to visit the Douro Valley, I highly recommend Fernando.

Fernando was a fabulous tour guide. He was pleasant, kind, honest, a good driver - and overall a fun companion. He took us to 2 amazing wineries, coordinated a delicious local lunch with a variety of Portuguese dishes and even took photos of us and shared them after the tour. Fernando was easy to communicate with - he picked us up on time at our hotel and arranged the whole day schedule. We rode in a clean comfortable minivan through the most scenic areas and stopped at various looking points. I cannot say enough good things about Fernando - highly recommend, 5 stars, amazing!

We couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide than Fernando Almeida. He took such good care of my husband, myself, and our two friends, as we ventured out to Douro Valley for wine tastings. We went to two fantastic wineries (Quinta Seara d’Ordens, and to The House of Sandeman). Both of them with delicious wines and breathtaking views of the valley. Fernando took wonderful pictures of our group throughout the day, and informed us of the histories and the processes of each winery we visited. Later, he took us to a family restaurant where we had an abundance of delicious foods served to us. It was delicious, and the was full of locals.. We got right in and we’re treated like royalty there. It definitely made our vacation complete. Highly worth it.

A last-minute decision that turned into one of the highlights of our trip! Before heading to the airport, we were lucky to find Fernando available to take us to the Douro Valley and we’re so glad we did. Despite the time constraint, we were able to see so much and truly take in the beauty of the region. While many come to the Douro Valley to savor its famous wines, our family doesn’t drink and honestly, we didn’t feel like we missed a thing. The sweeping landscapes, terraced vineyards, and peaceful river views were more than enough to leave us in awe. It was a quick visit, but one filled with unforgettable scenery and moments we’ll always cherish. Proof that sometimes the best experiences come from the most spontaneous decisions!

Our Douro Valley tour included two wine/Port tastings, a fabulous huge lunch, a short boat ride and great narration by Fernando. No huge crowds and door to door service from our downtown Porto hotel.

I travelled in a small group of 6 on this Douro Valley tour. Solo traveller and loving it! Fernando was excellent and took us to some great view sites to take wonderful photos! Food, wine & port. I highly recommend!

Fernando was a wonderful guide for our tour of Douro Valley. He took us to several planned and unplanned vineyards for tasting, including lunch, and made some extra stops at places he thought we would like (we did!) What an amazing experience we have had exploring the Duoro with Fernando. His knowledge and attention to detail on the wineries that we visited and the history of the area was second to none. We would definitely be using his services again.

The Douro Valley is stunning and left us speechless. Pictures and videos do not do it justice. However, what really made this trip special for us was Fernando. He went above and beyond to make sure this was a day we never forget. He picked the nicest spots to take photos of my husband and me and treated the day like our own personal photo shoot. He took us to a gorgeous family run vineyard for a tasting of 5 wines and olive oil and then we went to see the Mateus palace & gardens. Lunch was at another vineyard with delicious food followed by a tasting. He took us to see the town of Pinhão and finally to Pacheca. Fernando works with you to make sure you have the best experience. This is someone who takes lots of pride in his work, loves his clients, and loves his country. Could not have asked for better guide or day.

I cannot say enough good things about Fernando Almeida, the wine tour of the Duoro Valley was a perfect ending to our trip. He was a wealth of information and was so gracious and kind. The wineries he chose for us were just spectacular.

Portugal is very interesting and charming! Porto is beautiful but the experience of seeing it with a delightful and knowledgeable guide makes it so much better. Fernando is simply amazing. From our initial pickup he became a friend. And the time that my husband and I spent with him was wonderful. Our tour was to Douro Valley. This included many stops for amazing views, culture and history. Our tour included wine tasting, lunch with amazing views and stops along the way. Please give Fernando a call. His tours are set but not set. He will help you decide what to do and see. We had know idea, but I trusted him and I am so very happy that I did. We were not rushed at any point!

We were so lucky in finding Fernando through a Facebook post a few days in advance. Me and some friends were trying to find a last minute, custom tour of the duoro valley and beyond. Fernando did an amazing job in delivering exactly what we were looking for! He listened to us and came up with the perfect custom tour for me and my friends. With so much to see and do in Portugal, Fernando helped us experience the region with ease and comfort. We spent two days with him. First, a transfer from the cruise port in Lisbon, to our hotel in Porto. Along the way, we saw many highlights and beautiful sights, such as Obidos, Bathala Monastery, Aviero and Costa Nova. The second day, we did a full day touring the Douro Valley from Porto, with wine tastings. Fernando is charming and gracious in sharing his country with guests, showing them the highlights as well as other out-of-the-way treats that only locals would know. He made our trip fun and interesting. Not only was he on time, but he was also generous with his time, ensuring that we had time to explore at our own pace. Our family felt very comfortable touring Porto and Duoro valley with Fernando. He explained the sites well, took us to local lunch and dinner spots. He did not rush through anything which was essential with young kids. Duoro valley trip was also well organized. We enjoyed the suggested lunch spot. The wineries were amazing!
