Douro Valley Tour - 3 Wine Tastings, Lunch & River Cruise

Beautiful sightseeing and impressive views of the douro valley. The one thing that was missing was someone providing information during the river cruise.

Tiago was a great guide/driver and made the experience so fun. He gave us good information about Porto/the region in general. The experience was the perfect length and was didn’t feel too rushed. You get plenty of wine and food - adding the boat ride on the river was worth it. Highly recommend this day trip from Porto!

I don't usually love group tours but Tiago was great! The group was very small (6 people) and we all got along well. Tiago was very funny and super knowledgeable about everything. I feel like we all learned a lot and had an incredible time. Some of my other friends did this tour in a larger bus and didn't have as great of a time as we did, so I highly recommend this one!

This was hands down one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal! We would recommend this experience to absolutely everyone. Every stop was a perfect mix of learning about Portuguese wine culture, but having a blast along the way. Views were beautiful! Also, we loved the smaller group experience! Our guide, Tiago Mendes, truly went above and beyond to make sure we got the full Portuguese experience. He was incredibly knowledgeable and an absolute blast to spend the day with. He made the entire experience that much more special! If you’re going on this tour, highly recommend reaching out to see if he can be your guide. If you’re visiting Porto, this is a must do. Five-star experience from start to finish! We had the best time.

Our visit to the Duoro Valley was magical.. incredible views, intimate wine and olive oil tastings, lunch and the BEST guide! Tiago is knowledgeable, kind, funny and made our day with a group of strangers one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal. He made sure we were well taken care of and that we all had a memorable experience

This was one of the highlights of our two weeks in Portugal!! Our guide Nuno was smart and sweet and funny and just made you love everything about Portugal and wine and the Duoro River. Nice, comfortable vehicle. Loved the views, the river boat ride, the meals/snacks- it was all outstanding. Learned a lot from the hosts at the first winery (and drank great wine). Learned about wine and traditions at the others. We also had a very fun group of travelers who were also on the tour- which I know you can’t control- but it made the day even better. We would have valued a chance to talk with people operating the other two wineries- but Nuno was helpful here as well. Would recommend a more specific location for pickup. It was confusing and we were worried about missing the tour. Everything was great once connected to the guide.

Mica was a great guide and driver! We really enjoyed getting to know her and the views of the Duoro Valley! What a wonderful relaxing day. We loved the first vineyard and olive oil tasting, the boat ride, and the delicious lunch. Pedro is funny, smart and very attentive! We needed a rest day after hiking the Camino and this was the perfect way to spend it! We will be back!

Luis was one of the best guides we have ever had in our years of extensive travel. He was so personable and attentive to us. It’s not very often that a guide makes you feel immediately comfortable, from the first time he opened the door for us we loved Louis. We were so sad to see him go. It was like saying goodbye to a good friend.

Luis was amazing and perfect for our group! His attention to details and knowledge of the local wines and Portugal history kept us well entertained. He was very in tune to our individual food needs and made sure our vegetarian had delicious food as well. Our sights were well planned and timing great, loved the town Amarante and was my favorite beautiful village and church. Best excursion ever! And the views were breathtaking! Best part is you have a day full of wine tastings. I literally have no complaints and would return just to do this tour again. Pedro was an amazing tour guide, it was nice to hear the history of the area and just learn about the culture. The day ends with a Port tasting after lunch, the cherry on top. My husband and I both agree this was the highlight of our trip.

Tiego our guide was fantastic! His knowledge of Portugals history was fascinating. Would definitely recommend all the places we stopped as well, olive oil, wine, and food was delicious!

We joined this tour with tour guide Tiago. He was the best tour guide anyone could ask for. Obviously knew so much about Douro valley and even the fruit and nut trees in the area. He went above and beyond for an enjoyable and comfortable trip. Allowed us to take so much of his extra time. Would recommend Tiago 100%

Book this tour and ask for Pedro to be your guide! You’ll have an unforgettable experience. We spent the day sightseeing, cruising the Duoro River, enjoying three wine and port tastings and learning about the processes to create the different wines. Lunch was at a beautiful estate under big shade trees overlooking the vineyards. Pedro was so fun and so knowledgeable- our group had a wonderful time together.

I recommend this trip. There was a total of 8 people which I thought was a nice size group. Big enough to make friends but not so big that you feel like a number. Luis was a friendly and knowledgeable guide. My wife and I both very much enjoyed the trip. If you do the boat trip, take headphones. It is an audio based tour. You don't need audio to enjoy the scenery. The boat has alcohol for purchase, but you can take wine from the winery just before the boat ride.

We had a wonderful tour with Luis. He took us too some beautiful and unique places for our wine and port tastings and for lunch. He was very attentive. And it was fun to share the experience with the other couples on the tour.

We had such a great time on this tour! Plenty of delicious wine, a great lunch, and such a fun group of people to spend the day with. But the true highlight was our guide, Tiago! He was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make the day special. At one point, we even came across someone whose tire had fallen off on the road, and Tiago didn’t hesitate to pull over and help them. That tells you everything you need to know about the kind of person he is! We absolutely loved this experience and couldn’t recommend it enough, especially with Tiago as your guide! Great value (they kept the wine FLOWING) and could not recommend more.

She shared lots of interesting information about the tour and Portugal, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. We had a wonderful day exploring the Douro Wine region, it was a full day of experiences, wine, port, breads, olive oils, local cheese and meats. We were joined by six other people from across the world, it was great to meet up and talk. Luis was a great tour guide, knowledgeable about the region, the wines and the food and good fun to spend the day with. We added the boat trip and again great the see the Douro Valley from the water, such a beautiful part of the world. The lunchtime meal was enjoyable meal in beautiful surroundings this was then followed by an extremely informative port wine cellar tour and tasting. Great day and excellent value for money.

Picturesque Doura Valley was such a memorable experience from morning to end of tour with our guide, Nuno Silva. This was a fantastic way to truly enjoy the valley and the beautiful wine region. I now have a greater appreciation of wines from here and grown to really like Port wines. The boat tour is highly recommended to see the scenic lands that make up this region. Beautiful day with a beautiful group.

We had a fantastic time travelling to the Douro Valley for wine tasting with Nuno Silva. It was a great day, matched by Nuno’s knowledge, passion and enthusiasm for the region made it a memorable experience. The wine and food were amazing, the scenery spectacular.
