Douro Valley Private Full–day Tour From Porto

Really nice experience, well organised, guide was really interesting! Enjoyed the river cruise and first winery was impressive. Felt it could have done with one extra stop for a viewpoint but maybe that’s me being greedy!

This trip is a really great experience. The Douro valley is beautiful and our guide Milena made sure we absorbed the scenery, the culture and that the trip ran to perfection.We also had plenty of fun thanks to a great sense of humour!! The port was good too!!!Highly recommend company and guide. We booked through the Tourist office in Porto- always good to go with their recommendation.

This was the best day we spent on our Porto trip. Our Guide Milena was awesome, she made everyone feel welcome and never left anyone behind! We learned very valuable and historical information from Milena and Nono our drive made us feel safe and comfortable for this beautiful day! 100/10 recommend!!

Me and my friends did a full-day tour with CMTour and it was an amazing time! We actually had to reach out for a custom tour because we didn't want to be dropped back in Porto and it worked out perfectly, they were so easy to work with and the value was excellent. Our bus/van was super comfortable for all of us, the tour itself was informative without being boring, and the tasting and lunch was excellent. I would definitely recommend working with CMTour for your future tours!

Excellent tour 100/100, specially the guide that we had ( Nuno ). Very professional and knowledgeable guy, willing to help you with anything about your trip. The tour itself is very interesting and you have the chance to taste and buy great wines.

We would like to thank our guide, Ricardo, and our driver, Julio, for an amazing trip to the Douro Valley. We received enriching and detailed information about wine production, along with various fun facts and interesting insights. We traveled with a small child, and the trip was baby-friendly—we even had a car seat on the bus, so it was completely comfortable for families. Ricardo created a great atmosphere during the ride, and Julio is an excellent driver. We felt safe throughout the journey. Thank you once again!

I'm a little late with this review, but on Sept 11/24 our group of 28 did a full day tour with CMTours to Douro Valley visiting 2 wineries with a wonderful lunch at 1 of the wineries and then a 1 hour boat trip up the Douro River. Our guide IVO SOUSA was fabulous!!! Also many thanks to our great driver Julio and thanks to Tatiana for setting this all up for my group. Everyone said it was a FABULOUS day!!! Thanks again to Ivo, Julio and Tatiana!! It will be a day that will be kept in our memories!

The winery, Santa Julia, was wonderful & the porto wines are great. The Douro Valley is just amazing with how they planted the grape vines.....can't imagine the amount of labor they put in.

The wine tour of the Douro valley was unbelievable. Our guide Francisco as very knowledgeable re the wine and region. He was also very friendly. The lunch could have been a lot better. Whilst we love trying traditional foods, I felt tripe as a main was a crowd splitter and really seemed more like a cost cutting exercise than an actual pleasant experience for travellers as there are many other traditional foods that could have achieved the goal of traditional food. This really impacted the experience as we were so hungry and wanted to eat to ensure we balanced food with wine during the tour.

Great experience! The tour is a must whether you like wine or not. The views and experience are incredible! Ivo and the driver Zé were fantastic! Ivo has a humor that will make your trip very fun. 100% recommended. Don't forget to bring cash to buy beer and water on the boat, since they don't accept cards.

The tour was the highlight of my time in Porto. Ivo was knowledgeable and ran a really professional tour. Can't reccomend it enough.

Our tour guide Ivo, did a great job keeping the tour informational and entertaining. The tour was a reasonable price for the experience. For us, it included four wine tastings, a lunch (with wine), and a sample of olive oil. The boat tour was not necessary, but included also. We felt it was things we had seen already just from a different point of view, and it didn’t add much to the tour (saw better views from the wine farm, bus, etc.). Maybe if the boat ride came first, the tour would not feel as stretched long. The bus is also worth mentioning; it was very nice, comfortable, and with A/C. You will learn lots about the process of table and port wine making and history of the Douro Valley!

Antonio was a wonderful guide and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our trip. We had a delicious lunch, wine tastings and a masterclass at the end. Best experience in Porto.

Our guide, Oscar, was fantastic. Unfortunately I can’t recommend this tour. Nothing to do with Oscar. We booked a private tour for $410 and there was nothing private about it besides the time in the car. Speaking of time in the car, the tour should just be called a driving tour … the tour was from 9 am - 7 pm (10 hours) and we spent 7 hours of this in the car :( When we arrived at the first (large) winery, we were surprised and disappointed to find 2 other large CM Tour groups there. We were forced to join the large English speaking group which were trash. They spoke over the tour guide, showed no interest in the winery, vaped, burped, and even ate grapes off some vines after the tour guide had just told us how precious and old those exact vines were. We were forced to follow the same group to the next winery and lunch and had the same unfortunate experience. CM needs to stop offering private tours or completely change it. Boutique wineries should be visited, zero contact with the large groups, and cut down the time in the car to 3-4 hours MAXIMUM. 7 hours in a car is painful.

We booked this private day trip for our team of 30. From the start I was impressed with Tatania's prompt and friendly correspondence. The trip itself was brilliant. Our guide Milena, was a delight. She worked out quickly how much information we wanted to hear and was friendly with a good sense of humour. We enjoyed a visit to the Sandeman's Port winery, had an excellent lunch with great wines included, and a peaceful boat trip along the river. The scenery was awesome! Overall the trip was excellent value too.

This was our 2nd time exploring the Douro with CM Tours. We travelled from Porto this time. We were staying in Douro last year. Had a fantastic time. The wineries were great as was lunch at the restaurant at Quinta de la Rosa. Our driver, Ivo, was amazing. We met him last year and requested him again. He is very knowledgeable about wine, wine-making and the region. He’s also got a really fun personality, tells great stories and speaks perfect English. We so enjoyed the trip and look forward to doing it again sometime. Thanks, Ivo. You’re the BEST!!!

This full day tour from Porto to the Douro Valley was a fun and relaxing way to see this beautiful area of Portugal and learn about the history of Port wine making. The wineries we visited were interesting and the cruise on the Douro River was very enjoyable. And our guide and driver Ivo was simply the best. He was very informative and personable, and always making sure the pace of the tour was fine for us.

Brilliant tour of the Douro valley. Lunch was so much better than expected. Wine and port tasting excellent and informative. River cruise very relaxing, beautiful scenery. Sara was a wonderful guide. Can't wait to return to one of the most hospitable areas I have ever been!

We did the premium experience doura valley tour recently. We received an email confirmation the day before the tour and Tania picked us up on time from our airbnb in Porto. She drove us to the doura valley where we went to an old olive oil factory and wine company for a tasting of their olive oil and wines. From there we went to a port maker winery where we took a tour of the winery and had a tasting of port. Since we booked the premium experience, it came with a private lunch in the middle of the winery! The lunch was a picnic basket full of salads and savory pasteries and dessert, with 3 bottles of wine for 2 people! The lunch spot was great was it was not only in the middle of a winery but had a table, umbrella and trees for shade, and a bathroom. Great experience. From lunch, we took a tour of the lake and then finished off the day with a cheese and meat plate with more wine. Through it all, Tania was a great guide -- friendly and chatty. I would recommend to anyone!

We did the private tour and was really excellent, got it all right as combined by email and WhatsApp. The guides were excellent, we were accompanied by Ivo, score 10 and the guides of the place all great. It was worth it.

The conviviality and excellent dynamics , from the guide Tânia , during the journey were very good with great attention to the customer.

Impossible not to love the ride on the gold with the DELFINA guide. Left us the will and wanting more! We love the availability of the guide and the tour difference. We visited the farms of Morocco and the house of barro.
