Sandro was our guide and i couldn’t recommend him more! Extremely friendly and informative, we got stuck in traffic and he waited for us and on top of that guided us to a place that we wouldn’t need to pay for park ( so thoughtful) the tour was relaxed and memorable.

Sandro is such a great and nice guide. we felt really comfortable from the beginning and enjoyed his tour!!
Outstanding experience with Joana. She was up beat, interesting, knowledgeable, amazing humor, and personable.
This tour was over and above our expectations. Luis was the best guide. Full of knowledge and stories. We were given the opportunity to see and hear about the beauty and history of Portugal and the Duoro wine valley. We were treated to fabulous wines and port. Luis kept the tour interesting and fun. I highly recommend this tour and make sure to ask for Luis. Thank you Luis for providing us with a wonderful experience.
Very nice tour! We booked very late the day before, but promptly received very clear directions on where to meet and what to expect. Eduardo gave us the tour and was very knowledgable and overall pleasant to chat with. What I liked especially about the tour was the scope. You're not in a gigantic tour bus, but in nice van that can navigate the roads easily.
Very pleasant trip with amazing views and informative session on wine and port making (and tasting 😊) . Sandro shared many details about the areas we have travelled through.
Sandro, our guide, is attentive and informative. He is professional and friendly, attending to customers’ needs. The drive though Duoro Valley is beautiful and stunning. The winery visit was pleasant and provided knowledge on the wine industry in the region.
This was a great day! Such good value for money, a lovely boat trip & charcuterie, and the winery tour was very educational. Sandro our guide was warm and very knowledgeable, and made the day brilliant. Thank you!
Absolutely superfun! Guide was great. Organisation wonderful.
Exceptional. Beyond what we had hoped for. The experience made the early morning worthwhile. The Amarante stop was a bonus. Stunning. Nuno, our guide was fun and easy going and his language skills were impressive. The van was in very good shape and our driver was safe. The wineries Nuno lined up for us were very good and the pours were delicious and freely given. The river cruise was fun and also came with wine. We had a great group. I feel like we got the royal treatment throughout.
Great day out with a very informative and friendly guide (thanks Nuvo). Whilst a long day already, would have appreciated a little more time in Amorante and/or starting the boat trip in Pinhao so we could have a quick look around there too. Small things in an otherwise very enjoyable day in Douro Valley.
Great day! Knowledgable, charming and informative guide Nuño was fantastic. Thoroughly enjoyed our day with lovely company. The tour size was just right with plenty of time to get to know people, the wineries were lovely and we had a nice trip on the Douro. What’s not to like? Thanks a lot, guys.
Miguel and João were amazing and the trip is a must do. Everything about the day was perfect.
We had a great start with the tour in a beautiful clean Mercedes mini bus. Eduardo was our guide and Nuno our driver. Both were great, friendly accommodating and relaxed. The winery visits were conducted by two separate wine hosts who were very knowledgeable and entertaining. The tour was well planned. We liked the stop at Amerenta, a quiet and beautiful town where we took some memorable pictures. The boat ride was so peaceful and calm on the Douro river. It was amazing viewing the vineyards on terraces, so lush and green. Eduardo was always available to answer questions, a great job. It was a great day spent, relaxing and enjoying the beauty of the Douro valley.
Excellent day with Marcio and Miguel. Lots of wine(!), great food, scenic route and never felt rushed. Highly recommend.
Fabulous trip from start to finish. Bernardo was our host and Nuno our driver for the day. Friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining throughout. Lovely river cruise down the Douro Valley with wine tasting onboard followed by a trip way up the valley to a beautiful family run winery, with more wine tasting (white, rose & red) followed by a stunning 10 year old tawny port. Lunch in a local restaurant (with more wine) where the food was beautifully simple and beautifully cooked. Last stop at a wine co-operative for yet more tasting. Exceptional value for money and would thoroughly recommend. Thank you again Bernardo & Nuno 🙂
We have a fantastic time on this Douro valley tour. Pedro was an excellent guide, and the wi wineries, lunch and boat ride were all great.
The trip was smooth, with interesting and informative commentary from Ricky. Both wineries were good and we learned a lot from the guides. The 10 year tawny port was excellent.
Fabulous day out. Great choice of wineries, fantastic lunch, brilliant tour guide. Would do it again at the drop of a hat.
Nuno is an amazing guide, shared a lot of information and lead a beautiful tour
Best tour ever. Wine tasting on a boat on the river, lunch at an authentic winery house, tours of small villages and a drive through The valley. The tour operator did an excellent job of setting meet times and location and taking care of us. Be sure to book tBeat his tour it's worth it.
Luis was the BEST! Very professional & informative and entertaining! I highly recommend you ask for Luis Wonderful Full Day
Informative tour of the Duaro Valley. Thouroughly enjoyed the stop off at Amarante to get a quick coffee and walk up the steps to view the church and the boat cruise. Next we headed to our first winery with a fun experience of climbing into a wine barrel (optional). Had a lunch with authentic Portugese sit down restuarant (guides asked about food allergies) where we were able to learn more about the other passengers from around the world. Next, a stop at wine co-op with more tastings. In all, 9 tasting and wine at lunch also. From 7:45-6:30 was a long day in the valley. I would have liked to have been able to stop at a view point to see the valley from above as it shows in most of the pictures. Otherwise, driver and tour guide were excellent.
We had a wonderful experience exploring the Douro Valley with Luís and Nuno! Luís was incredibly attentive, helpful, and genuinely kind. He has a great sense of humor and made the entire experience even more enjoyable. You can tell he truly cares about making everyone feel comfortable and welcome. Highly recommended! Thank you both for such a memorable experience!
Great tour, Pedro and André were fantastic! The visits to the vineyards were amazing and we learnt a lot and the cruise was beautiful, would highly recommend!
Very fun day. Sandro was a great guide. Very knowledgeable and time manager.
Great tour! Luis and Soao, our tour guide and driver, took such a good care of solo traveler like me. They have been very considerate, taking us to a town foe breakfast before drinking. Wine and lunch were good. Highly recommended!
Fantastic experience with Lus and Joo today. Lus kept us entertained and made the trip very enjoyable. Joa is a great driver.
No wasted time - they kept it moving and "Evoo" was clear & informative all day. No pressure to buy wines. GF was accommodated.
The tour was fantastic! We got to enjoy the most delicious wines, food, and views. Luis & Miguel were amazing guides and made the whole experience - we especially appreciated the espresso surprise!
This trip exceeded our expectations in that we were not prepared for the scale of the rugged landscape of the Douro valley. It was quite unlike any wine region in the world that we had previously visited, and we have seen a few in our time! Jorge our guide was very attentive and had a brilliant selection of music for the long spells in the minibus with our fellow travellers. The wineries and locations visited were well chosen and very different in scale and history. The lunch served was simple, delicious home cooked food and a perfect accompaniment to the wines served. The hour in a boat on the river provided a different perspective of the valley to that from the minibus. Our one gripe would be the time spent in the minibus which we hadn’t bargained on but we were rewarded with spectacular scenery and amazing views. We certainly wouldn’t have driven to these locations ourselves! Well worth a day out of our Porto visit.
Tour was good. Our guide Johnny was great! He was knowledgeable and funny. The wine tastings were good. We like that we had a minivan with only 8 people. The lunch was tasty and plentiful. We basically had the restaurant to ourselves. It’s a long day but worth the trip.
Experience was great with Ricky our driver. He was fantastic and gave us good pointers. Our group blended very well. Although first time meeting. The first winery was good. Did not like the wines but service was great. The second winery was great wine more experienced guide and great port. Only thing no water or clean glasses between tasting. Lunch was ok. Pork was chewy. Roce was nice but no vegetables. River tour was a bit boring but soothing.
Luis was the greatest tour guide - my partner and I had such a blast all day. He was so informative, genuine, and fun to be around! We loved both wineries & the boat cruise - definitely recommend this.
We absolutely loved our trip to Douro Valley. Our first stop in Amarante was more enjoyable than expected. The church was beautiful and the stories our guide Andreia told were fun and educational. You must try the pastry to start off your day. All the wine and port we tasted were of exceptional quality and lunch was beautiful as well. We especially enjoyed the river cruise with more delicious wine that added to the whole experience. This trip was a perfect combination of site seeing (the most gorgeous views of the valley throughout the tour) the and good wine/port.
This tour was so much fun and worth the cost and the time. Our guide, Jimmy (Joao) was fantastic and so much fun. We met some really interesting fellow travelers, saw beautiful spots in the Douro Valley and of course, tasted lovely wine. We are veteran wine country visitors as former Bay Area and now Oregon residents and the wines and craft in Portugal is spectacular. We learned a lot about how Port wine is produced and tasted wonderful wines. The tour company selected 2 smaller family owned wineries and a very traditional restaurant for lunch. Even though Portugal is still crowded with tourists even in mid September, it felt intimate and special. The river cruise was relaxing and a nice break from driving. Highly recommend.
We had an amazing wine tour, met some great people, enjoyed good food and wine/port. Our guide Johnny was the best, he provided great insight on the wine and region throughout our tour Johnny has an amazing upbeat, super fun personality. Highly recommend!!
Great small group tour! Was really impressed with Luis as a guide. Overall we had a great experience on a very comfortable mini bus!
We had an amazing time thanks to your guide Pedro. The wineries delivered a knowledgeable and flavorful experience, and the boat cruise gives you everything you need in a fun filled day. Cannot recommend this tour enough!
A very enjoyable day. Vasco was super friendly and enthusiastic and helped one of our group navigate a minor medical issue with a trip to a pharmacy. The trip was a lovely balance of delicious food, drink, information and breathtaking views. The boat trip was a lovely way to finish it all off. All in all the trip was great value for money and we would happily recommend it.
Had fun learning about viticulture and Portuguese life with the wonderful Andrea. Great pick up and attention with good tastings and a beautiful river cruise. Lunch was average.
Fantastic trip to the Douro Valley with Pedro our host so informative and fun. Excellent wines and food, it was amazing value for money. If you want a great trip I would definitely recommend this one.
We had a blast on the Douro Valley Day Trip with Oporto Road Trip. Big thanks to Pedro, our guide, and Joel, our driver — you two made our day! The whole trip was really well planned and so relaxing. Pedro is professional but also so much fun to be around. Honestly, everyone on the trip kept saying how awesome he is — we all agreed he's the best tour guide we've ever had. Thoughtful, funny, and just really good at what he does. High quality experience from start to finish. Definitely worth the money. If you're thinking about doing this trip, just book it! P.S. attached a photo of Pedro making selfie when helping all of us take photos
Luis was very good and friendly, highly recommend!
Excellent tour. Sandro was amazing. Most of the individual guides outside of him were amazing. Very good value as this hits Amarante, the beautiful highway road, 2 wine making establishments, the train station in the one Douro town, a very tasty lunch and a boat ride. Would recommend
Amazing experience! Easy pick up, comfortable ride throughout the day. From the start our tour guide and driver were polite, attentive and knowledgeable, providing an unforgettable experience. Well worth the price given the duration of the tour. The lunch and the cruise were my favorite parts. Would highly recommend this tour!
We absolutely loved this tour. The tour plan is great, with the right amount of activities, wineries and interesting places to visit. The guide Sandro was also amazing. Very friendly and accommodating, he shared lots of interesting facts and stories. Overall the energy and the vibe was great so we highly recommend taking this tour.
We have spent an fantastic time during this trip with delicious food and amazing wine. The other two accompanied couples were lovely. Our guide, Cheila was wonderful and friendly. She is an excellent driver and tour guide with a lots of knowledge which she shares with us along the way. Eva & Pål
Sandro was an amazing guide!! My family and I had the best time. It was a perfectly laid out day. Each stop was great. It’s a long day but cannot recommend enough!
We did the small group wine tour with Alesandro which was about €110 pp. This was a great tour which lasted about 10 hours (8am-6pm). Alesandro was great in terms of information, driving and very informative and friendly. Our tour group had 7 people plus the guide and included: - a 30 minute stop in the pretty riverside town Amarante - Casa Santa Eufémia winery for a tour and tasting - Generic group boat tour with other groups. Pleasant enough but not the most interesting, basically the boat just goes up the river 25 minutes and back again. The terrace landscape and winding river is very impressive though. - Brief stop at Pinhao train station to see murals - Lunch at a family style place. We got a fish stew and the pork cutlets with some rice and potatoes and wine. Very simple where you serve yourself but pleasant. The pork was particularly nice. It would have been nicer to go to a place with an outside terrace and view though. - D'origem winery for an overview of the olive oil and wine making process and a further small tasting at the impressive terrace. - Final viewpoint of the terraces. Overall really great day out and Alesandro was great. If I was making suggested improvements, I think the boat/lunch could be slightly upgraded and it would be nice to try a few more wines/ports during the tastings.
