Douro Valley Half-day Winery & Lunch Tour From Porto

Wonderful tour! Ricardo was very kind and knowledgeable. It was very nice getting picked up / dropped off right by our Airbnb, we didn’t have to worry about anything. We had time for pictures around the winery and tried 3 ports. We also had lunch at a delicious restaurant. We were very full and happy!

We had a great visit to Duoro Valley with beautiful views along the drive. Our guide, Ricardo, was very warm and friendly! He took special care to ensure we were comfortable and provided a lot of information throughout the tour. I hope I can do the full day tour next time! Thank you for showing us a great time :)

We had a hiccup at the beginning because they had sent us the wrong pick up place! As soon as it was discovered, our guide, Christophe remedied it and traveled to pick us up! He was so kind and courteous, and very knowledgeable about the Douro Valley. The lunch was fabulous as was the tasting! Thank you so much!!

A great tour if you can't or don't want a full day and boat ride. Going with a small group (ours ended up being just our group of 4) is fantastic. Lunch was delicious!

This tour began on- time, we were picked up by Ricardo, who was so pleasant and started our day with his sunshine. Ricardo offered us water as soon as we were settled. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area which was a bonus. Our drive to the Duoro Valley was picturesque while the weather was perfect for the tour. We had a wine tasting, visited a vineyard and enjoyed a regional lunch which was accompanied by wine. Ricardo returned us to our accommodation. The van was for 8 passengers and was roomy and comfortable. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour with Ricardo.

Fabulous well organised trip and Chris was great and very friendly! It’s a one and a hour hour journey each way but well worth it as the scenery is so beautiful. Wine/port tasting with bread and olives/olive oil then a delicious lunch with wine and desert great value for money and the other two couples were great company. Definitely recommend!

Decided to do a Douro Valley Tour while visiting Porto and was very happy with the tour that Meridian4people provided, communication prior to the trip was excellent via WhatsApp. Our tour guide Cristovão was excellent, very friendly and happy to answer all your questions. Small group tour also with only 4 couples in the very comfortable mini van. Great spots to stop off at for amazing scenery. Beautiful Port Winery to visit with tastings.Local lunch was very nice also with some local foods.

Love the small group tour to Durro Valley - Ricardo was a great tour guide -So much fun learning about the vineyard and taste testing the wines and olive oils. Lunch was also delicious

Was a great small group Half day tour with Alex. Smooth pick up and tide. Alex was great sharing history of Portugal with us and later history and making of Port wine. Vineyard visit and tasting was great, followed up by a delicious lunch.

Joao, our driver, was great. He shared information and history on the trip, making the drive there go much faster. Although the trip said 6 hours, it was over 8 hours including pick up and drop off, which was not mentioned. I also was expecting it to be "wine" tour and tasting, not port wine. I had just done a port wine tasting experience the day prior. Wouldn't it be called a Douro Valley Port wine tour and tasting? Lastly, why do they have ALL the groups arrive at the same time and each group has a speaker talking to them about the port at the same time? Why wouldn't they stagger the tours by 5 or 10 minutes so that 200 people are not trying to hear their speaker over all the other ones?

Tour guide Alex was friendly and very knowledgeable. Seeing and touring one winery was plenty. Tour and tasting was very informative. Lunch was very good lots of local food and wine. The valley is beautiful. If you have an extra day in Porto, definitely do it. This tour is six hours long so we really wouldn’t consider it a half day but it worked for us!

Great guide ( Ricardo) and a lot of interesting info. Wine tasting and lunch were great and the entire tour was superb.

The Douro Region is beautiful and worth visiting. Our only disappointment is that our ride was with a group that did not speak English and since we did not speak Spanish we did not understand most of what was being said. The driver did his best to translate but it quickly became a banter between between Portuguese & Spanish. During the winery tour, we were also placed with other groups for the tour so we were disappointed not to have a more private experience, such as the Spanish-speaking guests who were traveling with us. The port tasting was interesting, however, and the lunch offered was also wonderful. We just wished that we could have learned more about the region.

We had the best experience with J Araújo! He picked us up directly from our AirBnB right on time and proved so much information about Porto during the drive. He directed us to the cutest coffee shop in Douro Valley and let us walk over the bridge before taking us to the winery. He also took us to lunch and helped create the most fun vibes with his jokes and energy. I would definitely recommend for anyone visiting!

Great drive to first destination where we walked on a bridge over the river. Followed by Port tasting.

Our driver was Ricardo and he was very engaging, knowledgeable and fun. We stopped at a wonderful port winery and we treated to some delicious port and olive oils. The other thing is our travel mates felt like friends at the end of the trip, made it even more special. It seems that any tour companies that Viator hires turn to be excellent and reliable.

Ricardo was the perfect guide for this trip. He was courteous, kind, knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humor. It was evident how much he loved Portugal - which rubbed off us! The vineyard was incredibly beautiful, the lunch was delicious and the drive to a scenic overlook after was the cherry on top. Would highly recommend!

A great day out into the beautiful Douro valley. Ricardo was a great guide with perfect English and a great sense of humour. Our minibus was clean and very comfortable, the port tasting was very interesting and our lunch at a local restaurant was very tasty, accompanied by wine and yet more port! I recommend this trip.

We had a very wonderful time on our tour of the Douro Valley. Our guide, Ana, was very experienced with the area and shared cultural and historical knowledge with us as she drove us expertly through the twists and turns of the beautiful Douro countryside. The winery visit was interesting and we enjoyed the tastings. Our lunch at a local restaurant was delicious and very fun. It was a great tour and a lovely day. Ricardo was a wonderful driver, telling us about Portugal and the area! This tour was fabulous. The drive was beautiful up to the valley of vineyards, the tasting was of three different types of port - very delicious and also the tour of the winery interesting and informative. The food was great, authentic yummy Portuguese food. Would do again! Highly recommend!

after the hour and 45 minute drive from Porto, it was nice experience seeing wine country. scenery was beautiful.

Chris was our guide and is very knowledgeable about the history of Porto and the valley. He was attentive to our needs all day. The meal is traditional Portuguese food so be prepared. The Douro valley is a must see if you have the time.

The tour was exceptional. The views were amazing. The tour guide was engaging and kind and funny and shared so much information about the history of the valley and of Portugal. Highly recommend it if you don’t want to spend an entire day in Duro. The wine tasting and the vineyard were absolutely spectacular.

The tour guide (Chris) was very knowledgeable. The journey to the valley was beautiful and enjoyable. The wine estate (Croft) was gorgeous and peaceful with an informative guide and tasting session. This was certainly the highlight of the trip. The itinerary was misleading and we thought a river cruise was included, which it was not included for the shorter tour, only for the full day tour. The lunch although traditional was disappointing, very loud and busy in a small space with food that did not feel as special as the wine tour itself.

Chris was an excellent guide, fantastic winery visit with tastings of Port and olive oil . Lunch was an interesting local experience. Loads of info and a great chat on the way back to Porto . We thoroughly enjoyed our tour.

You should expect to spend over 3 hours (round trip) in the car. Lunch is in an awful touristy restaurant with a set menu of various stewed meat that we did not eat. You only visit one winery, which was pleasant but had numerous tour groups

Guide J Araujo was excellent. Restaurant was very busy not so relaxing.. Would have loved to do more tasting than one stop.

On top of that, the valley itself was everything we'd imagined — stunning vineyards, incredible wine, breathtaking views. If you're booking a Douro Valley tour, ask for Tiago. You won't regret it.

Our guide Ricardo was excellent! Without him I would have rated this 2 stars. The winery is simply ok since if you’ve visited vineyards before there isn’t much soul about. The lookout and lunch spots were excellent. It’s a long drive with winding roads but Duro Valley is beautiful and worth the trek!

Wonderful half-day experience with Alix in the Douro Valley. He was knowledgeable and fun and we got to see a lot of of the area. The winery tour and the lunch we both fantastic and I highly recommend this half-day experience if you want to understand more about this wine producing region. Worth every penny!

The tour was efficiently run and provided wonderful vistas to see. The visit to the Croft Port Winery was terrific with an enjoyable tasting of Port. The luncheon that was provided in Pinhão was so tasty and varied. A great day.

Very worthwhile tour that stills leave you the late afternoon and evening for more sightseeing, or relaxing time . We went to a Fado event and dinner that evening. Small group (8) definitely the way to go. Met new people over a nice lunch after winery tour which was wonderful. Overall a great day out seeing the Duoro valley.
