Once in Spain, you will arrive to our main destination. Santiago de Compostela, is one of the most magical cities in Galicia, Spain. Santiago concentrates in itself, culture, religion, people, academic life and tourism. And, because of its beauty, the city won the title of World Heritage. Its famous pilgrimage way, known as the “Caminho de Santiago” (St. James way) won also the title of World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Visit this amazing City, exploring the one of the most important pilgrim sites in Europe. You will have free time to explore on your own the historical city center of Santiago and its famous Cathedral.
Once in Santiago, you guide will give you free time to explore this incredible site. You will be able to visit and explore the Cathedral!
You'll have some free time for lunch, you can taste and drink some of the traditional food from Galicia!
After lunch it's time to return to Portugal, to your next stop: Valença do Minho! Standing on the border with Spain and overlooking the River Minho, Valença is surrounded by walls and displays all the characteristic features of a town that was fortified in the seventeenth century in the style of the French military architect, Vauban. Its first name was "Contrasta", which referred to a village standing opposite another one and was clearly a reference to its position directly across the River Minho from the Galician town of Tui. Today, it is a city with a flourishing trade, in which some of the most popularly sought after items are the pieces produced by the local craftsmen.

We had a great trip to Santiago de Compostela, perfect in almost every way, except my wife and I got lost through our fault, not remembering where the bus was parked. Our guide, Pedro Costa is very personable ,told great stories and was very helpful. Franco, our driver also deserves special mention.
Our guide had to give the tour in two languages. I expected to learn much more in English and not wait for the Spanish explanations to complete. Quite disappointing. Not an issue with the guide but the administration of the tour.
Pedro Costa and Franco were great! They made our tour very enjoyable, informative and intuitive
Organized and efficient. Guide and driver were both very professional. Would go with them again.
It was such an amazing experience we had a wonderful tour guide, his name is Diogo. Him and his uncle were very nice and friendly, explained everything to us in English. Overall is was great! 👍🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 will definitely recommend this tour with Diogo to all our friends.
Great experience. Very puntual.
Our guide Diego and driver Franco are great. The trip was well arranged and executed. Diego was very clear in giving directions and took good care of everyone. He’s also shared a lot of knowledge about history. Great trip.
Yesterday we had a very nice day with a professional guide called Enmanuel, that make this experience even better.
Good experience, but very little time to spend in Sao Thiago arounds. Or we would visit the church or we would have lunch. The second stop can be cancelled in ordem to shate more time in Santiago arrounds.
Pros Guide Pedro Costa was very knowledgeable and entertaining Bus was comfortable Good timing on the journey with a service stop on the way to Santiago and stop at Valenca on the way back with good options and clean bathrooms Walking tour in Santiago was planned well and informative with enough time for some additional tourist viewing in the Cathedral or a museum, lunch and some souvenirs shopping, Pedro pointed out the best places for each Our driver Manuel Fernandes was an entertaining presence and drove well throughout the trip While we had some people late back both Pedro and Manuel handled the situation with humour and poise, Pedro later told us it was his first experience of this, you wouldn't have been able to tell. Cons We had some people late back in Santiago, with one person missing the bus but it took an hour for the company to make the call to leave. During this time the bus was not brought into the meeting point due to additional charges for an extended stay and there is limited benches for sitting which became cold over time Our visit to Valenca while good was much too short at 40 minutes (Pedro told us this is the standard length and not an adjustment) only really enough time for a bathroom visit and drink at a cafe OR a look at some shops but not both, there are some beautiful home furnishings and fabric we could see in the windows but not experience or look at to buy. An extended time here would be a big improvement to the overall trip.
Pedro Costa was our most excellent tour guide.
The guide driver was very knowledgeable and provided great guidance on how we should tour the church. He was very aware of the lines there would be and made sure we got there early enough to see the church before mass started
Miguel is jolly and excellent guide. Franco is safe and very good driver.
Excellent guide Miguel and driver was Franco. Very informative and helpful giving tips where we can buy souvenirs and place to eat for authentic Portuguese local food . Highly recommended.
TheOur guide, Miguel, was highly professional, knowledgeable, and pleasant. He provided informative guidance and was accommodating throughout the experience. We had ample time to eat, explore the area, and attend to our personal needs. The drive was smooth and comfortable. The availability of Wi-Fi and charging facilities was an additional benefit. Overall I highly recommend this company.
Every part of the trip was planed perfectly, the informations during the trip were highly beneficial for young people and older as well, the ride was fast the music gave the vibe, guide Miguel was telling funny jokes, which I enjoyed
Excellent tour ! Our Tour team ( Jose & Miguel) was the best
This tour is a must and exceptional value. It’s a fantastic addition to a visit to Porto including a wonderful lunch and boat tour.
If you’re coming to Porto and you want the best tour for port wine tasting you need to do this it is such good value for money. Dave and Miranda are fantastic tour guides very knowledgeable and a lot of fun. The food was fantastic. The port wine was fantastic and I would definitely come back again. Best tour ever!!!!
Great day! David and Miranda, our guides were informative and helpful. We enjoyed the wine tasting and lunch. The cruise on the river was short we saw some beautiful scenery of the Douro Valley!
David and the driver Miranda were excellent! A beautiful day filled with not only wine but history, culture and unexpected treats.
The five of us went on this trip together and had a great time! Everything was well organized, the atmosphere was great, and we really enjoyed the experience. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a fun day trip from Porto!
Great mix of experiences and vistas. The amount of time spent is perfect. Driver eas expert.
David & Miranda were awesome highly recommend
Daniel and Miranda were great! So timely and got to try many wines and see many places :)
Great day out. Guide wonderful. Very informative and friendly. Nothing was too much.our bus driver maykel was a true gentleman always up to help me on and off vehicle. Great pair. X
Olando and Maykel were excited as guide and driver. Helpful and informative.
The tour was very good! The driver Maykel was very puntual and polite. The guide Orlando was excellent. He explained very well the historical details of the places we visited in both English and Portuguese. He was always very friendly and professional.
Great day trip, so glad I took the tour. Orlando was an outstanding guide, very informative, kind, and patient with everyone. I would take another tour just to go with Orlando. Markel our driver got us everywhere safely and with a smile. Thank you for a wonderful day.
English speakers were at a distinct disadvantage. The guide spent more time speaking in Portugese than English. Somehow English speakers were not informed of bus location until Portugese were already on the bus so we were stuck in the back and separated from one family member that managed to get the only seat in the front of the bus.
The meeting place was extremely disorganized. The coffee shop pictured no longer exists at the meeting point, Boarding was a mess, one driver had a sign made visible to board, otherwise there was no way to know where to go. When boarding took place, the English speaking passengers were unaware of where the bus was, because no English instructions were given. The guide then came running into the front of the groups shouting “fourteen”, in Portuguese, then English. When the English passengers arrived the bus had already been boarded, and seating was difficult. Felipe Telles was a terrible guide. He gave long explanations in Portuguese, and limited information in English. I understand a good deal of Portuguese, and was able to note his extended discussion of the tiles at São Bento, while in English, he said it is a good experience to visit. Period. He also had long, detailed discussions of the Portuguese wines, and foods, when speaking to the Portuguese speakers, and no discussion in English. Likewise when speaking of food options in Santiago de Compostela, he spoke of where to find the foods, and gave examples, paella and tortilla, as examples, to the Portuguese, but none to the English speakers. All in all, this was the worst tour I have EVER taken. I’m very disappointed.
Anabela the guide was informative and shares with us snippets of Compestela history. Mr Ruy B was a safe and courteous driver who made the ride comfortable.
Comfortable minibus-8passengers and guide, Emmanuel. Great information about the origin of the pilgrimage and pilgrims. Santiago is beautiful and so historic! Valença was a surprise-old fortified city. Overall, a long but very enjoyable day.
Orlando was great and full of information and stories and showed real pride in the area’s heritage.
Fantastic day trip to Santiago de Compostela and Valença. Our driver/guide, Orlando presented us with a history of the country and Santiago de Compostela as we traveled to Santiago, showed us the areas we needed to go and gave us a good timeline as well as what to expect. On the return, Orlando outlined the history of the fort at Valença as we approached, giving us time to explore before our return to Porto. I highly recommend this trip and Orlando who helped the site come alive for us.
Amazing trip, our guide and driver Orlando was amazing. Gave us alot of informations during our drive. Would recommend that you have your next trip with him.
We enjoyed the smooth journeys in the minibus with a midway break both ways. Great scenery, accompanied by Orlando’s clear and interesting commentary providing a concise background of the context of our trip - geographical, historical and cultural. He gave the group clear instructions about time and place to meet up each time we stopped. We attended the Mass at Santiago de Compostela, giving us a flavour of the achievements of the many pilgrims who completed their journey. The fortress village of Valenca was delightful to stroll around on our return journey - shops to browse, cafes to relax in. Strong sense of their local community life there. Many thanks to Orlando for keeping us entertained all day long. It was a fun trip!
D.Ferro and our driver Tiago were excellent throughout with safe comfortable driving. Diego Ferro was extremely, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. We felt completely relaxed and the guidance we received was outstanding and enjoyable. We would recommend this tour and the company based on these two individuals efforts and hopefully they will be viewed as assets. All aspects of our day could not be bettered.
Our tour guide, D. Ferro, was very personable, informative and went above and beyond. He even showed us his dad’s passport from his Camino de Santiago. He’s very knowledgeable and explained everything we needed to know. Our driver Tiago is a very responsible driver and kept us informed about anything that was going around the route and the timing. My husband Bill and I, highly recommend this tour with this awesome team!
Orlando was great would go again
The tour guide Orlando is really friendly guy and explain the history of those visited places are informative! Highly recommended.
I thoroughly enjoyed this small group tour with our guide Miguel! He was entertaining, accommodating, and informative. Even though it’s a long drive the scenery was beautiful and Miguel kept us well abreast on our journey. I highly recommend this trip. We were able to attend Mass in the Cathedral and spend a lovely afternoon in Spain. Not to be missed!
Orlando was an excellent and knowledgeable guide and driver. He walked us through the town, gave us restaurant recommendations before guiding us to the cathedral. He gave very detailed history of the Santiago de Compostela, some local history and an overview of Portuguese history in general.
Excellent our guide Orlando was very knowledgeable would recommend the trip
Our guide Orlando is very knowledgeable about the history, both cultural and natural, of the region. Very courteous. We enjoyed our excursion with him a lot
I had such an amazing tour with Miguel! He made the experience fun, engaging, and informative from start to finish. I learned so much while having a great time along the way. Thank you, Miguel, for making this experience so memorable. I would definitely take another tour with you!
Fabulous experience! Delicious food and wonderful sightseeing. The guide Orlando displayed excelent knowledge and was extremely helpful.
