My husband and I are traveling with our two sons- ages 15 and 11. We booked this excursion for the last day of our trip, and what a grand finale! It was amazing. Ricardo is knowledgeable, welcoming, kind and accommodating. Both cities were beautiful. The food we ate was fabulous and the tours were incredible. Highly recommend! Completely worth the money!
Thoroughly enjoyed our day tour with Ricardo. He was very good at the history of the areas and explaining it to us and conveyed the grey areas of history as well. Well worth doing and a completely different tour away from Central Porto. Places we would not have gone without this tour but loved them both!

Guide was great. Picked us up at our hotel. Pace was just about perfect with some nice breaks with free time. Made the history very interesting, especially with the theme of the mother son story. Would have liked to walk down the trail from the middle of Bom de Jesus do Monte down the hill after visiting the top. Or walk the whole way up.

It is a perfect day out if you are interested in history. We all enjoyed ourselves very much. This was enhanced due to having an excellent Guide named Bruno. He could not have been nicer and apart from his expertise, he was great company.
When we spent almost $400 for a private tour for two, we didn't expect a 30 year old car that's very dirty and smelly. The AC doesn't work either. Our tour guide explained that he normally takes customers to countryside. But he got asked to do this city tour with us today. The ride is pretty uncomfortable. Regret booking this tour.

We truly enjoyed Guimaraes and Braga tour. Ricardo picked us up from our hotel. He was the only tour operator who did that. He asked me about my kids eating schedule and took us to Guimaraes first so it best suited our kids lunch time. He was able to cover all the landmarks and knew both places well. Towards the end he was kind enough to drop us at our hotel also which made things very convenient. Ricardo comes highly recommended.
Ricardo was an amazing person to spend a day with. He grew up and lived around the area, and provided great cultural explanations and recommendations of where to eat. Such a lovely experience.
Drive and guide, Richardo was great and brought a lot of personality to the day. We preferred Guimaraes a bit more over Braga simply because of our particular interests. However, there is a lot of scenery in both places. Make sure you are ready for a long day.

This is a great tour hosted by Ricardo. Prior to the trip, we didn’t know what to expect with the tour. We just knew the pictures looked amazing. Ricardo was timely and accommodating due to an unforeseen injury to one person in our party. Our tour began in the breathtaking city of Braga. Ricardo coordinated a masterful guide of the city with brief stops to shops and vendor’s with a purposeful history lesson. Ricardo was flexible in giving options to view sites from different vantage points, and great suggestions for best picture locations. With each stop, even the vendor’s loved and sang praises of Ricardo and the work he did in showing the true heart of the city. The tour was wonderful and we’re thankful for the experience with Ricardo. Book the tour, it’s a true gem.
Absolutely the best tour I’ve ever been on! Ricardo is a gracious, extremely knowledgeable guide. We saw the best of Braga and Guimaraes and with the flexibility of a private tour we even got to visit a 1st century hillfort. A truly memorable day.
This was an amazing trip. Our guide, Ari do was awesome. He was so much fun and very knowledgeable!! He allowed us to meander through the streets while showing us all of the sites!! His birthday was today (the same day of our tour), but he was so pleasant and really made all the difference of having a good experience and an awesome experience!! We had Ricardo as our driver. He was wonderful. The tour was one of the best we have done, and we've done at least 100 throughout Europe. Both destinations were well worthwhile and the lunch in the Medieval town square was superb.

Ricardo was amazing and so was the tour. We had my 83yo father with knee problems (along with 15-20 yo boys) and Ricardo did an amazing job of altering our schedule to fit his speed. Ricardo gives you just enough activity, culture, history and time to explore. Highly recommend!!!

The historical and cultural sites we visited exceeded our expectations. However, the overall tour was a disappointment. The group was made up of persons speaking two different languages. The tour guide managed to accommodate both, but unfortunately it not only detracted from the overall experience and caused the tour to be exceptionally and unnecessarily lengthy, delaying our return as well as impacting plans we had made for that evening.
We had a great adventure in Braga and Guimarães with Ricardo from Portugal Auténtico. Ricardo treated us like long lost family - he was warm and welcoming and we felt glad to be with him for the day. He knew lots about the current cities and about their history and gave us an educational and fun tour, which was tailored to our interests. We would not have been able to experience so much in so little time without his expert guidance. We’d absolutely recommend this tour to friends! Both cities were a lovely change from the bustle of Porto.
