Carlos Silva was a wealth of knowledge and very personable! He has a true passion for Portugal and it shows. He was prompt to pick us up and answered all of our questions about Portuguese history as well as where we were touring.

Itinerary
Your private and expert guide will collect you from your hotel/accommodation or meeting point and will drive you to Braga, the capital of Minho Region. On your way , the guide will give you insights regarding the Portuguese history, development and cultural facts of portuguese heritage.
Welcome to Braga, one of the oldest cities in Portugal and important landmark through centuries for it's Triangle of Faith: Braga's Cathedral and the Sanctuaries of Bom Jesus and Sameiro. A city inhabited since the Roman Empire, full of history, monuments, traditions and heritage.
This Catholic shrine dedicated to the Lord Bom Jesus is an architectural and landscape set composed by a church, a stairway with representations of the life of Christ. Enjoy the views of the city and take your time to admire it's architecture.
The city of Braga, known as that of the Archbishops, has in its Cathedral its greatest ecclesiastical power. As such, the current See reflects the enrichment of the various interventions suffered over the years, applied by the different archbishops. Prior to Nationality, this 11th century building is the oldest cathedral in Portugal. This is due to the famous expression "Older than Braga's cathedral" to designate something very old. Enjoy the guided visit of its interior with your expert guide.

Great guide, Lacerda, very informative and fun. Lovely group on tour. Attractions exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend.
The tour was Full day Braga & Guimarães. We were very lucky to have Carlos as our tour guide. It was a very informative tour with our experienced & knowledgeable guide great history & he answered all questions & his humour was appreciated. He was kind to me when walking down the steps & that was great help to me. Great day & I say that as we had a bit of rain.
Tanya was an amazing and enthusiastic guide, and Joel was a great driver, always on time.
The experience is very good. I am very satisfied.
This was the best tour we’ve ever taken. Our guide, Rafael, had an exceptional attitude and impressive knowledge. He never stopped sharing fascinating information throughout the tour; it was clear that he’s an expert on the topics and knows how to convey them in a clear, dynamic, and engaging way. Plus, you can tell he’s passionate about his work and puts a lot of heart into it, which made the whole experience even more special. Without a doubt, his explanations were top-notch, and I’d love to join him again on another tour. The tour was in Spanish, which made everything much more comfortable and easier to enjoy. If you have the chance to choose, booking the tour with him will undoubtedly be the best decision. Likewise, our driver was very professional. Unfortunately, I don’t remember his name, but the service was impeccable. The tour took place on April 5, 2026, in Group 8 (Braga, in Spanish), departing from Porto. I had to write this review because, coming from Mexico, not just any tour is worth it, and this one definitely exceeded all our expectations.
Great rour, beautiful cities.and our guide Carlos and drgreat touriver Rui are best
Our guide Rui was so knowledgeable about this area and very friendly. We learned so much from him about Braga, Portugal and the design and creation of the various artwork and design in the church. It was developed over decades and several church leaders with their own ideas. The trip and tour was like a day with a friend who wanted us to learn about his country. Braga was lovely. We’d definitely recommend and ask for Rui.
Mauro was a fantastic guide. We took a full day private tour of Sintra, Cascais & Estoril with him yesterday and were thrilled to find out he was also going to be our guide today for our full day tour of Fatima, Nazare & Obidos! He was helpful, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic!
The tour itself is wonderful but the guide was even better. Mario , you are amazing! If only all tour guides were like you! He made every stop interesting - facts, interesting stories and history. He kept everyone wanting to know more and super patient at all times. Mario was accompanied by a great driver too, Filipe - so patient and respectful! You make an incredible duo.
The tour was very interesting and very good value for money. The tour guide Mario was fantastic, very informative and the driver Filipe was very helpful.
Nuno was an excellent, friendly, and knowledgeable guide. We had a great time on this tour with the perfect mix of seeing the town, the churches, and learning about the history.
It was an unforgettable experience. Especially for lovers of historical and quiet places, I felt like I had entered the middle of a medieval movie. Our guide during the trip, Caemo, was so kind and helpful. I loved her so much.
Both Daniela and Sheila were amazing we had a detailed information about the cities and after the wine Our first time and wont be last
Great guid with a lot of information about the cities a history. Super spend one if you visit Porto. Guid was Carlos and driver Jonas
We enjoyed the tour! Our local guide Rue was excellent. He shared so much cultural aspects of his country and we learned so much from him. He was also very accommodating and never rushed us. He even went above and beyond to drop us off at convenient locations. We enjoyed him and the tours were amazing.
We had a fantastic tour guide in Braga. His knowledge of the city's history and culture was impressive, and he shared fascinating insights. He was friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend booking a tour of Braga. Thank you for a wonderful day!
Gonçalo Matos was our tour guide and he was so friendly and informative. We had a great time learning about the history of Braga and seeing the town.
Entire trip was excellent. Tour guide Ana was wonderful . Knowledgeable friendly and extremely competent.
The views were breathtaking. We took million pictures. The Guimaraes stop was the icing in the cake, beautiful town with great restaurants.
This is as an over the top tour. The churches and gardens were beyond compare. We were especially impressed with the Bom Jesus church and grounds. The views at the mountain top were spectacular. Diago, our guide, literally went the extra mile for us. He added a couple of extra sites to see. He was flexible and accommodating to what we wanted to see. He was knowledgeable, friendly, professional a fun conversationalist. We were on a river cruise so he picked us up in a Mercedes van right at the ship. Braga is a not to be missed destination in Portugal. I highly recommend this half day tour.
Booked 2 tours, one was a private tour of Braga and Guimaraes and the other was the Douro valley tour. They cancelled the Douro valley tour on us for no reason the night before The Braga tour was only a driver, no guide so the information wasn’t as in depth. He did his best hence the 3 stars but otherwise wouldn’t book with the company again
We like to make the most of our precious time on vacation, so took the Braga 1/2 day private tour on our second day in Porto to get a feeling for the Minho district and the history and sights of Braga. The tour is as described by Living Tours, but being private was adjusted as we went along to suit our interests. At each stop, we were provided with pertinent information and had some time to ourselves to take in the sights and rich history; including a guided walking tour of Braga city centre. Descending the Escadaria at the Bom Jesus do Monte shrine was a trip highlight. A special thanks to our guide Tiago Santos for giving us an informative and fun visit of northern Portugal and introducing us to cork trees, green wine and a local lunch which we enjoyed poolside at our hotel overlooking the roofs of Porto and the Cathedral on our return to the hotel. All in a 1/2 day !!!
Andrea was awesome guide, full of knowledge and he made our trip super enjoyable. The overall experience was great and I highly recommend this trip 👍👍👍
Everything is very nice. I loved the experience! The guide was super friendly, the bus was comfortable, clean, and even had an outlet to charge my phone. The place was super good!! The truth is that personally the time was short in some rooms but it doesn't take away from how incredible it is. I recommend it and would go again. The only thing I recommend is not to go in July and in summer in general because it is too hot and it has prevented me from exploring the places due to the sun and heat.
Superb visit with Mario Pinto, excursion to the top with visit and tasting in a cellar. Mario spoke very good French
Our Guide has a very good "French", he knows the city well and informs us of many sites and historical details. We recommend Afonso to all. 😉
Beautiful We went with livingtours The spectacular Tania guide 😍 the best Everything with excellence The driver Silvano excellent
The visit was beautiful, well done and organised. The guide J. Paulo Castro is prepared, available, energetic and very kind. He explained the history of the two cities to us and allowed us to have experiences that very few tourists have the opportunity to have. A thousand thanks!
Very nice visit! The guide Carlos is very friendly and funny! A very beautiful site to see and some anecdotes about the history of the city.
Excellent tour staff Ana and Marco as well as the agency staff. The weather was appropriate for the visit.
With Isabelle as guide it was an exceptional visit, very competent and passionate, recommend
I took 4 tours with LivingTours. They were all excellent. They leave the tourist with time. These are great details, they show everything. It's not superficial. The guide Ale did Santiago and Paul did Coimbra. Wonderful. Congratulations.
It has been wonderful, a unique experience, I have seen magical places and I have learned a lot about the history of Portugal and we had the best guide Castro who made us laugh and explained many things about these cities. It has been a pleasure to see being able to share time with He told us interesting things and made us have a splendid day.
