Vinicius was a fabulous guide! He did an amazing job of communicating before, during, and after the tour. He was very knowledgeable about the city and the rich history. He gave excellent tips for other options or things to do during our stay. It was a wonderful morning!

Filipe was an incredibly engaging and enthusiastic guide with a lot of historical and "local flavour" knowledge. This was an informative and fun tour.
Very informed guide, at every step pointed out things that we would have missed on a self-guided tour. He focused on our interests, and couldn’t ask for a better tour.
Monica was great. Knowledgeable, fun and easy to be with. Highly recommend her tour, we had a private tour.
We absolutely loved our guide Vinny. He made the tour for us. He was so knowledgeable and had fabulous anecdotal information for us on the city of Poro and all of our stops He was also just a really great human being.
Fantastic tour with a really knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide, Jorge, who was also a great company.
Our guide Monica was absolutely wonderful! She asked us what we wanted to see, we simply said show us what we should see and she added some of her favorite little stops along the way. We really enjoyed it!
Gianfranco’s tour of Porto was one of the best we had all trip!
Excellent tour well paced with a knowledgeable guide. Would highly recommend
Tour was amazing. Guide Felipe is really guy on right place
We got an excellent overview of Porto which is what we wanted. Vini was very knowledgeable and flexible. He was able to change some of sites based on things we had already seen and the questions we were asking. There were four of us on the tour.
Monica is an amazing guide and provides excellent history and cultural information and insights. She asks for your special interests and we visited some beautiful areas and shops and she helped us identify authentic and family owned shops. She was very fun for my grandson and we really enjoyed visiting her cat friends.
Our 3 hour walking tour with Santiago of Porto was brilliant. His knowledge of the history and recommendations of places to go in Porto was amazing. We would recommend this tour.
We had a tour with Felipe in May 2026. Above being super kind and funny, this guide was also demonstrating a deep knowledge of the history of the city and Portugal in general. It’s literally a passionate art history/human history seminar under the sun in one of the most beautiful city I ever set foot in. We booked via Free Tour - you leave the amount you feel like to the guide at the end of the tour (10-20 euros). Totally worth it and I couldn’t recommend enough. This guy brought me back to my art history classes I took in the past, and his passion made me want to learn new things again. As a musician from Montreal who tried several times to live from his craft but failed, Felipe’s passion greatly resonated with me. Thanks!
Amazing tour! Loved how all the city details were explained very knowledgeable and there was something for everyone. I highly advise it at the begging of your trip.
We had paid the fee on booking only to be told on arrival that the guide was not paid but we were expected to pay 10 to 15 euros per person at the end! The tour covered some history but not the local geography. The guide was more interested in feeding the stray cats!
Filipe was a great guide. Tour covered a lot of ground and was very informative. Group was large but manageable.
I saw the reviews and the price and they both seemed too good to be true but I am now a believer: I'd pay twice the price we paid for the quality of tour we got from Gianfranco. He was warm, engaging, incredibly well informed, and flexible. Absolutely, positively highly recommend this company!
Felipe was amazing ! So much knowledge , enthusiasm and passion. A true delight
We did a private walking tour for the two of us. We have traveled the world and GianFranco was easily one of the best tour guides we have ever had. He went beyond just the facts and insights of each place. He talked through the religious, cultural and economic conditions going on in Portugal and Europe that impacted everything from the architecture to the politics. He was very personal, very professional and very knowledgeable. He clearly loved his work. The tour was the perfect length and allowed for lots of questions and discussion. We are 63 & 71 years old and did not have any trouble with the walking, cobblestones or elevation. (Though I am sure we took the uphill sections a bit slower!) We recommend this tour and highly recommend GianFranco!
We had a wonderful tour with Monica around Porto. She was a wealth of information about the architecture, history and heart of the city, and had such an entertaining and warm presence. We came away appreciating our time here so much more. Time well spent on our trip!
Monica is a rockstar and it seems like every local in Porto knows her. Extremely knowledgeable and willing to answer every question. You can tell she is a genuinely good person. Someone you would want to hang out with. Hopefully our paths will cross again.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Felipe was an outstanding guide for my nearly three-hour walking tour of Porto. From the very first steps, he led me through charming hidden gems that most visitors never discover, while weaving in fascinating stories about Portugal’s rich history, the city’s incredible transformation, and how Porto has become one of Europe’s most beloved destinations. What truly made the tour unforgettable was Felipe himself. His deep knowledge, genuine compassion for the city, infectious enthusiasm, and warm, engaging personality kept me captivated the entire time. He didn’t just show me the sights—he made me feel the soul of Porto. If you’re visiting Porto, do yourself a favor and book this tour with Felipe. He is hands-down one of the best guides I’ve ever had. Highly, highly recommended!
Jorge was our guide. He knows so much and was such a pleasure to learn about Porto from him. Strongly recommend this tour. Especially on your first day.
A great tour despite the wet conditions. Super guide Jorge brightened up the day with his in depth knowledge of the history and gastronomy of Porto. Would highly recommend
Had a wonderful private walking tour with Monica on our first full day in Porto, our family of four all really enjoyed it! Despite it being off and on rainy for a lot of it, Monica never let it slow us or her down, we wandered the streets and learned about the history of the buildings, the city, and other tidbits we never would have known had we been on our own. We loved Monica's enthusiasm and she was very easy to chat with and very knowledgable, we would highly recommend her tour!
Mónica is absolutely incredible. This was the best private tour we have ever taken. She is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and made the entire experience engaging and memorable. Everything was perfectly organized, and she went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed every moment. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide or a better tour experience.
Great introduction to the city. Tour guide Jorge was wonderful - knowledgeable, friendly, funny! I would highly recommend this walking tour with Jorge to Porto visitors.
Monica was an excellent guide - informative, attentive and fun! She quickly established the sort of tour we wanted and designed the walk around this
Filipe is a great teacher with a passion for Porto and we really appreciated him sharing all the highlights of this beautiful city with us. It was a large group on a busy day but we could always hear and understand him and he did a great job checking in with us for questions. Thank you, Filipe!
Gianfranco is an excellent guide. Easy to hear and understand. He gave us an interesting tour and told us some interesting things about Porto.
Gianfranco from Hi Porto free walking Tour was great. Very knowledgeable, lots of interesting facts and very good recommendations. Would definitely advise visitors to do this tour and pay what you feel appropriate at the end….worth every euro!
Vino was excellent and most interesting. He told us many extra stories about Porto and its history. He also added a list of all good places to visit and eat etc. a great trip.
We got an overview of Porto. Walked through multiple areas. Our guide, George, was an excellent historian. He was enthusiastic, flexible and very patient with all of our questions and activity levels. We went back to the tile place he recommended the next day and bought many gifts. In addition, he recommended many restaurants. We chose Porta 4 which is local cuisine with a flare that was delicious. Overall, a great tour with a wonderful guide. Highly recommend
Filipe is an excellent tour guide! He gave us so much detail about each spot we saw. I really enjoyed the walk across the bridge and the stories about the king whose heart remains in Porto! would recommend!
Don’t miss this tour with Gianfranco! He was so much fun and informative about Porto. It was a memorable experience, so glad we booked this tour!
Booked last minute and was such a great surprise!!! With a friend for a few days in Porto, the tour was so informative but Filipe also had a great delivery of his knowledge and was a great guide! It’s given us some fab ideas of where to see next and loved the email with further suggestions, one of which I am sitting in right now enjoying a cider with a lovely view (jazzbar). All the groups questions were answered with care and humour! His love and commitment to his craft are second to none and anyone would enjoy a couple of hours with him! Thanks again, Nathalie and Holly :)
We had a lovely and sunny afternoon walking around this beautiful city of Porto. Our guide, Filipe, was a very nice person wanting to share his knowledge and experience of Porto. He obviously knows a lot of Porto and life there and can connect places not only physically walking around but also with stories that bring the city closer to visitors. It was very good that he used a small portable speaker so hearing his talk even in loud traffic was quite ok. The places we visited were well chosen, although that there were still far too much to see. Somehow tour got kind of a sudden end, you were expecting a bit more to wrap up it all. In such a sightseeing tour I still would like to concentrate in those stories, buildings and history, not so much in e.g. the background of guide, so I suggest less that and more what is relevant.
Monica was amazing. She focused her tour on the important things in Porto, and kept it light for the kids. She is very knowledgeable about the sites and local attractions
Absolutely a must-do - I have lived in Portugal for 3 years and in Porto for almost a year - I have walked all the city many times but never fully appreciated what I was looking at. Gianfranco has a deep and broad knowledge about history, culture, food, art and architecture - I can now walk around with insight and information to share. It's a fantastic intro to a beautiful city.
Phillipe is a fun guide. So full of historical knowledge but mainly he’s a fabulous story teller.making the history come to life.
Hats off to Artur, our tour guide! Artur is a native of Brazil whose grandfather left Porto and settled in Brazil. Artur knows everything regarding the history of Porto and Portugal. He can highlight early colonial history of Portugal and Brazil, as well as contemporary events. When he gets excited the Portuguese and Brazilian terms and slang hit you really fast. Whoa, Artur! Obrigado for a great tour!
What a wonderful tour! We took the tour with Felipe the first day we were in Porto and we are so glad we did. We got an overview of the city and are able to plan the rest of our time knowing more about the city and its secrets. Felipe joked that he was the best tour guide ever, but, I am here to say that it isn't a joke! He is a historian and it comes through. Highly recommend!! Liz
The tour guide was outstanding. Super knowledgeable about the history of Porto and Portugal (among other things!). A great introduction to the city that made our remaining 1.5 days really enjoyable
Monica was the best tour guide ever! She took her time with us, adjusted the tour our kids making it very fun. She even took us to a local Cervejeria for lunch. Make sure to ask for Monica and you won’t regret it.
Gianfranco has a passion for history, local craft, architecture and is fluent in several languages. He was engaging, informative and knowledgeable in many aspects of the city. His recommendations of places to eat, traditional craft shops and tourist attractions were appreciated. We would recommend this tour to all.
Great insights on the Porto’s history explained inna funny way! Irish guy had so many good and funny stories connected with city and country history.
Our tour guide was an Irishman with lots of personality! He was very knowledgeable about Oporto and Portuguese history and led a great tour.
Our guide was extremely professional and helpful. We saw many sights and learned about the city and it's historical past . We enjoyed it
We scheduled a walking tour of Porto for the first night we arrived in the city. Gianfranco was very knowledgeable and had a very fun personality. What a great introduction to a lovely city.
