Aveiro Rent A Bike - 4 Hours

We showed up to pick up the bikes. The kid that checked us in offered no help to adjust the bikes (I am short and he could have offered a different size), didn’t test to make sure everything was working before we left ( my bell didn’t work) and didn’t provide any sort of helpful directions except to put something in the Google map when we told him where we wanted to go. The bike that I had itself was not great to ride. It was average at best and we ended up returning the bikes after an hour. It would be really nice to have someone who was helpful and offered suggestions on where to ride or what to see. We wanted to ride to Praia de Bara and it is a long ride (45 min) on a manual bike. Wish he would have suggested e bike or something. There’s not much to do in bikes except ride to the salt mines and we did see white flamingoes. Maybe we just picked a bad day as others had good reviews

10 out of 10 experience from beginning to end! We rented e-bikes and rode through the salt flats and shipyards to the beach for the day. Helmets, bike lock and phone holder were available for rent. The rental process was smooth, easy and quick! Had a beautiful day and am super grateful for the kindness and helpful staff. 100% recommend!

We rented two e-bikes directly from the shop in Aveiro for a ride to Costa Nova, and had a great experience! The lady who helped us was incredibly friendly and helpful. The bikes were excellent and very comfortable to ride. She also took the time to explain the best route to Costa Nova, which turned out to be really useful as Google Maps doesn’t show all the new cycle lanes yet. The ride itself was beautiful, and thanks to her advice we could simply enjoy the trip without worrying about finding the right route. Great bikes, excellent service and genuinely friendly help. Highly recommended if you want to explore Aveiro and Costa Nova by bike!

Whilst in Aveiro we wanted to visit Costa Nova and decided that travelling by bike would be good. We visited Biclaria and advised them what we wanted to do. They were super helpful. Informing us of the route and how long it would take. He showed a range of bikes and what the price was for the time we wanted them. He explained the route was fairly straightforward and flat so we opted for the non electric pedal city bikes. The assistant put the route into Google Maps on my wife’s phone and explained some easier ways to pass some of the main roads. We were supplied with helmets and a lock and off we set. The ride there and back was simple enough and was as he said fairly simple and flat, we did get confused once. On returning we had cycled around 20 miles and in hindsight wish we had taken the E-bikes as it was tough at some points cycling into the wind. Overall we were very happy and the bike we had were in a good safe state and the assistance we got at the shop was very good, he explained he was from the Nederlands. I would recommend this rental company if your looking to hire bikes as the service we received was excellent.

Bike pick up and drop back really easy. Booked the day before and everything was ready. Helmets provided. As for the bike ride... 27 miles total loop to the lighthouse, Nova stripey houses and on to the Vagueira wind turbine blade before heading back. Completely flat and mostly cycle paths. Very pleasant and easy!

Easily accessible and pleasant family business. We found route finding difficult as no maps on offer only the bike shop setting up a route on Google maps which was not straightforward. To get to nice beaches involves cycling for quite a way through industrial port areas and cycle routes are not marked. Seems most picturesque cycling involves quite a long cycle from aveiro through industrial areas.

Great bikes in really good condition. The price per hour is very reasonable. The owner and his family were very helpful and accommodating.

We rented two bikes to ride around town and it was excellent. All the other reviews are correct. The bikes were well tuned (maybe better than my own at home! ) and worked great. Comfortable too. We got their trek style bikes: upright, seat spring and front fork shocks, cushy (but not too cushy) seats. We rode the other recommended ride along the canals and the estuary on a boardwalk. Stopped for drinks and food going both ways at the cafe at the beginning of the boardwalk.

We rented e-bikes and biked from city center to the seaside. Most of the way was protected from traffic on bike pathways. The woman who owed the shop was kind and helpful getting us set up and headed in the right direction via Google maps. We would highly recommend.

Irina was so helpful renting us e-bikes & showing us the cycling route to Costa Nova. She was a delight to work with, and made sure we had everything we needed for the ride. We wanted to see the cute striped houses, the palheiros, and the ocean/beach. Her directions led us there and back. The bikes were in great condition, & we had a good ride. The apartment was great! Perfect location in the heart of the city. The owner met us and answered all of our questions about where to go and what to do. Aveiro is beautiful!!

My husband and I rented bikes for a trip to Cosa Nova. Our experience was outstanding. The bikes, gear and recommendations for a bike ride were superior. We would not hesitate to rent again. The store is really cute too and we purchased multiple gifts for friends.

We hired 4 bikes as a family for 4 hours to head off to the coast. It was a great way to escape the city centre for a bit, the bikes were all well maintained and sized for us, with helmets and locks provided. We had a great time and was well worth it. For those thinking to do it, the cycle routes are fine and safe, sometimes common sense gives better directions than google maps!!!

We rented two bikes (one an e bike) for 2 days and cycled along the river to beach on 1st day and through nature reserve on the 2nd day. The lady owner was very friendly and helpful giving us a map and directions to make our days cycling very easy and enjoyable for us. The bikes were excellent, well maintained and comfortable. We would highly recommend this company.

We were looking for bicycles that were easy to ride & comfy at a good price & we weren't disappointed. The bikes were great fun! Helpful staff and really knowledgeable about local routes. We went to saltmarshes & boardwalk - husband went back and hired a tourer on his own later in the week for a day down around the beach (I was working).

It was the first time we try electric bike. It was awesome. We visit passadiços, what a wonderful place!! it's a must do :)

We rent bikes to go to the "passadiço de esgueira" and the bikes as well as the service were excellent. We received a map and tips for the best route in perfect english. The prices are low and helmets are included as well as locks for the bikes.

It was great until we drove up a hill on our trekking bikes. I shifted the gear and the rear derailleur somehow broke or got into the wheel. Could not continue. The owner of the shop helped us out very friendly and brought a new bike with his van, so that we could continue our journey.

Mother and son were very flexible and correct. We rented 4 MTBs and got a helmet and lock. We start at 11 am but unfortunately it started to rain and we took shelter. We called the store to ask if we could make another attempt mss in the afternoon. That was no problem at all! So we had been away for an hour, and were allowed to restart at 2.30pm without any problem! Again for 4 hours. Beautiful route, between lakes and forests, on wooden platform paths and dirt roads. With storks and birds of prey nearby, really handsome!

We went to Costa Nova and explained the route very well. We would have had to go from morning to enjoy the coast more. Highly recommended. They also speak perfect Spanish.

This friendly manager gives help with your route and is clear in her communication. You do not have to leave an I.D. here, a driver's license is sufficient so you can receive the bike with peace of mind. Before and after your ride, everything is checked so that you will not be surprised.

A very rotating experience! We rented two bicycles (trekking), perfect for many types of people and terrain, as the bicycles had various changes. We passed below the A25 to get to the beginning of the hallways. From there we walked 16 km (go and go) to see the Ria de Aveiro. Very fixed!

Aviero is flat so you can handle a regular city bike well The rented bikes are of good quality They don’t have a nice ready-made bike route, but you’ll be sent on your way with Strava. A holder to hold the phone costs €2,- rent. The landlord couple is super nice

Different types of bikes, so something for everyone. Super friendly people, my tire was flat and they immediately came to depande us!!

We rented 2 city bikes to use during the day (8 hours). Fantastic experience walking along the Ria, Praia da Barra and Costa Nova. Tour almost entirely by and with very few climbs. Bicycles have quality. The Biclaria store has an excellent Service and with great sympathy in the service. I highly recommend for those who want to spend a pleasant eco experience in Aveiro and two-wheeled.

Bicycles are of good quality. The owners of the Biclaria are super friendly and helpful. A flat city with pleasant conditions for a bicycle tour, not missing the passages. We highly recommend the experience!!

We recently made a first family experience. We rented 4 bicycles (2 adults and 2 children) for a tour of the city of Aveiro. I was unable to make the rental payment online but the booking was promptly secured after a phone call. The Service was excellent: there was attention to the size of the bicycles for the children (they adapted perfectly to the bicycles chosen), they were all in good condition. Upon arrival at the establishment, we were given a map and a suggestion for a route. In short, a very positive experience, which left the children with a desire to continue pedaling.

A great experience to share with family. The walk through the marshes of Aveiro is beautiful. The bikes were in good condition and the treatment was very nice. But... In my opinion, you cannot have a tourist-oriented business that does not support card payment.
