Excellent hotel with unexpected amenities! Great exercise space & proximity to city center. We were tired after a full day of tourism activities & decided NOT to go into river area for dinner. After relaxing in our immaculate room, we ventured down to the beautiful bar/restaurant area instead.....excellent wine, drinks, food, service & ambience followed. Music was totally unexpected & awesome! Really great take for Americans or anyone else looking for a lovely evening!!! What a special way to end our 3 days in Porto!❤️
We had the most amazing stay at the Renaissance Porto Lapa Hotel! The hotel is beautiful and the spa is absolutely incredible. They also went above and beyond for my boyfriend’s birthday by sending up a bottle of sparkling wine and a cake, which really made his day so special. We couldn’t recommend this hotel enough and would definitely stay again! ❤️
Unfortunately, I wouldn’t repeat this stay. The location wasn’t very convenient for exploring Porto on foot, and there wasn’t much within easy walking distance.
Housekeeping was the biggest disappointment. The room wasn’t cleaned properly, and basic bathroom amenities were missing. For a Marriott property, I expected a much higher standard.
Surprisingly, only two small bottles of water were provided per room per day for two guests — just one bottle each. Any additional water came at an extra charge, which I found quite unusual for a hotel of this category.
Checkout was also disappointing. We requested just an extra 30 minutes, but no flexibility was offered for any of our rooms, and the lady handling our checkout was not particularly helpful or accommodating.
On a positive note, a few staff members were genuinely kind and friendly, especially Hugo, if I remember his name correctly. His kindness was appreciated.
Overall, I believe there are better options in Porto in terms of both location and experience. I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.
Beautiful new large hotel. Unfortunately I had a room towards the back without view. Ocean view is nice, you can enjoy it from the 5th floor with sky view bar and outside pool. Breakfast is very good, lots of local and international choice. Superb, spacious Gym with Technogym machines.
Highly recommended! This was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was outstanding every morning, with a fantastic selection of delicious, high-quality food.
The hotel perfectly combines beautiful, stylish rooms and elegant decor with genuinely warm, professional service. Every detail exceeded our expectations, and the staff’s hospitality truly made our stay unforgettable. I would gladly return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an exceptional experience.
