Excellent accomodation, with a wonderfull pool facing river Douro. One of the best views of the river! Great breakfast, served with a smile. Definitely a stay to remember and look forward to a next opportunity to come back

We had a wonderful stay at Pestana Palácio do Freixo and would happily choose it again when visiting Porto. The building itself is truly impressive. Staying in a beautifully restored historic palace overlooking the Douro River is a unique experience, and the architecture and interiors have been preserved with great care. The gardens and pool area are also lovely, offering a peaceful escape after a day exploring the city. Although the hotel is slightly outside Porto's historic center, we actually appreciated the quieter atmosphere. And getting into the city was still easy and convenient. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and overall well maintained. We also enjoyed the breakfast each morning, which offered a good variety of fresh options and was a pleasant way to start the day. Most importantly, every member of the staff we interacted with was welcoming, professional and genuinely kind. Their warm hospitality made us feel very well looked after throughout our stay.

We had a delightful visit to celebrate our Anniversary! The restoration of the palace, old factory, and grounds are marvelous. My husband and I really enjoyed our massage appointments with Barbara. The conceirge Rita was extremely knowledgeable. All the staff from Rui the doorman, Victor at the front desk, Host Sebastian who delivered the hotel's complimentary gift to our room and sat us at our table for dinning, Pedro at the bar, and more were professional, courteous and helpful. We loved the outdoor spaces including the gardens, and pool overlooking the Rio Douro. Thank you Pestana Palácio for a truly memorable stay.

Stunningly beautiful views; old world charm; superb breakfast; wonderful daily housekeeping of rooms. We stayed almost one week and each day the room was cleaned like new. The beds are very comfortable with high quality bed linens. Only the rooms have air con (which works excellently). Highly recommend.
