Overall it was a good stay. Location was excellent and very central to everything. Rooms were a good size and service was friendly. Breakfast was a big buffet with lots of option. The only reasons I wouldn’t give it a 5 is - coffee was not good and almost under drinkable. The beds were uncomfortable and had springs you could feel. Also the shower was very difficult to turn on in our room without getting sprayed.

The hotel was in a beautiful old building. Everything seemed clean and safe. The staff at the front desk was very helpful. The bartenders were great. Especially Tiago. He freely gave advice on what restaurants to go to while staying there and poured great drinks. Only thing negative I would say is our room door was very squeaky and others on our floor I could hear also. Besides that it was great.
I don't know how this hotel managed to get 4 stars. Let's start with the beds. University dorms have better beds. It like sleeping on the board without any support. I asked for the mattress topper, they don't have them. We managed to get extra duvet and use it instead. Next the sheets. The 1st night we turn the bed down the sheets had spots. They were clean, but spotted. We call front desk, house keeping weren't available. My husband had to dress again, go downstairs , get another set, and I had to remake the bed. Next, we asked for extra towels. Towels were overused, gray in color, many of them fringed, one with holes in it. Bathroom had mold on the walls, and designed in a way that no matter what you do, the floors will be wet. Dehumidifier in our bathroom wasn't working either. Also, while hotel location is great, in the center of tourist attractions, the windows are not blocking any noise. So it can be very loud pretty late. Oh, and bring your own body lotion, hotel doesn't have one. I put 2 stars: 1 for location, another for friendly front desk staff. To be fair we were offered another room after 2nd night, but since all the beds are the same, we desided that we don't want swap one awl for another.
Regret we had a room in the basement (9002) it was comfortable and large enough but despite providing robes there was not even a hook on the wall or door to hang them up? 😞 Rest of hotel, reception and breakfast was perfect. Staff were friendly but seem to lack awareness as despite standing around, noone ensured there were glasses for orange juice and plates available until asked? Location was excellent, very short walk to the river and entertainment Restaurant was not open so cannot comment. Bar service good, if a bit quiet at times Overall, apart from room allocation this is a great place.
I recently stayed here in Room 121 (Triple Room) and had a very distressing experience. Upon arrival, the room was filled with an overwhelming, toxic smell of burnt cooking oil. We discovered the window seal was completely broken, allowing exhaust from the kitchen vents below to blow directly into the room. It was uninhabitable. When I went to the front desk in distress at 12:30 AM to ask for help, the night staff was incredibly dismissive and cold. I was told nothing could be done until Sunday and was essentially ignored while crying in the lobby. No guest should be told to "tolerate" breathing in kitchen fumes for two nights. Marianna the reception Manager did eventually step in the following day. They apologized for the experience and provided us with a room upgrade by 3:00 PM on Sunday. While the upgrade was appreciated and the new room 304 was much better, the initial lack of empathy and the safety failure of the first room caused significant stress to my family. If you stay here, avoid Room 121 at all costs. I hope the hotel fixes the window seal and trains their night staff on basic crisis management and guest empathy.
