Kapok Hotel

Location is great as it allows you to visit the city sights at your own pace. Tried some of the local foods which was okay- but a little on the spicy side. Breakfast was okay as well. We discovered that the accommodation rates are highly prices for the standard of hotel.

Rooms are average, disappointed that the room type I wanted wasnt available. Breakfast is average, low range of selection but service was great.

THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE… An incident occurred during my stay at the Kapok Hotel from March 22nd to March 26th, 2026. My husband and I received a warm welcome upon arrival and proceeded to our room, number 384. However, our stay was marred by an unfortunate event. On the morning of March 26th, I discovered that several items had been stolen from our room. We had left the room between 10:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. the day before (25th) and returned after 8:00 p.m. the same day. The stolen items that were taken on the 25th included a black leather Nine West handbag containing a “QINLIANF 5 Outlet Extender with 4 USB Charging Ports, 3-Sided 1680J Power Strip Multi Plug Adapter Spaced for Home Travel Office” which I had purchased as a gift for my niece. The handbag was stored in the closet to the right. On the morning of March 26th, my niece informed me that she would be stopping by to collect the gift, and I intended to meet her downstairs with the bag. However, upon retrieving my belongings, I found that the handbag was missing. Despite searching the room and my suitcases, I was unable to locate it. I immediately reported the incident to the front desk, and it is currently under investigation. Following checkout, I visited a sister before departing from Trinidad and discovered that additional items, including a pack of three men's white under shirts (XL) and a dress-length dashiki, were missing from my suitcase. These were gifts. I notified the hotel, initially reporting the shirts. I anticipate that the Operations Manager and other disciplines will do a thorough investigation as I await the outcome which I will certainly share with you. P.S. Love this place. The location. The service. The staff. Always friendly and helpful Especially Kim and her team at Reception. Some aspects of the plant are getting a bit tired though. But nothing that some attention from maintenance can't fix.
