Despite the bad weather we had a thoroughly enjoyable day. Sahil was an excellent driver and guide, very informative and friendly. Pickup was well organised with good communication, I would definitely recommend Chucky Taxi.

Great experience visiting some of the main attractions in the south of the island. The time allocated to each stop was ideal for me and as advertised. Our guide, Sahil was extremely informative and helpful. He has a terrific sense of humour and made the trip lots of fun. The trip to the South west of the island was very interesting with spectacular scenery and wildlife.

The tour was absolutely fantastic! The weather was perfect, and I was able to take amazing photos at every location we visited. The driver was very kind and attentive, always making sure I was comfortable and well taken care of throughout the tour. Also, even though I accidentally booked the tour for the wrong date, the tour operator was extremely helpful and kindly allowed me to change the date free of charge. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend this tour!

This trip had everything you could ask for from comfortable ride, friendly and knowledgable driver and the best places to see. As it was just my wife and me - a private tour meant we didn’t have to wait for anyone. Sahil was such a great tour guide and driver. Highly recommend

Driver is really cooperative, fun and great to talk to. You can ask him anything. He is explaining about the destinations, giving fun facts and navigating you for the best experience. He adjusted the program so that we were happy. We had a great time exploring!

Mervin our driver was fabulous for our south island trip. He gave us the different options for the tour and which we wanted to do/see most. He talked alot about the history and culture of Mauritius on the journey between stops. He was very polite and friendly and took loads of pictures of us for us to bring home. Pick up/drop off was alot on time and seamless. Will definitely be using again when we revisit the island next year 😊

During this day, stops were made at Trou aux Carfs, Grand Bassin and its Hindu temples, Alexandra Falls viewing of the distant coastline, Black Gorges Viewpoints, Chamarel Waterfall and Seven Coloured Earths and finally, the Rhumerie de Charmarel

I got to ride with THE Chucky. The tour could not have been easier. Chucky is fourth-generation Mauritian and knows his country very well. I appreciated his flexibility and recommendations to adjust the tour based on the regularly changing weather conditions and my personal interests. He taught me about Mauritian history and culture as we drove safely between all of the included destinations. Highly recommended.

This trip of the south was worth it - beautiful scenery- the gorge, waterfalls and the 7 colored earth and also got to learn a lot about Mauritius and its culture from the guide. The weather was not the best, but Chucky was very strategic on where to go first and although it rained, everything worked out beautifully!

We really enjoyed this tour. What made it stand out for me was the quality of the tour company. They were very proactive in tailoring the tour to our needs and being very clear about the logistics in advance. On the day, they arrived on time. The car used was spotlessly clean, and the tour guide, Mervin, was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout the day, helping to make it special. I have no hesitation in recommending this tour.

This day was incredible from start to finish. Our guide Sahil was perfect. Arrived on time. His car was immaculate and his manners impeccable. Knowledgeable and informative from the start. We learned so much and had so many laughs. If you don’t do a trip like this you’re definitely missing out. We saw mountains, waterfalls and a sacred lake. Learnt about Hinduism. Saw monkeys, a hundreds year old tortoise and multi coloured sands. The best day that you could imagine. Thanks again Sahil. Tremendous, you are a credit to your profession.

So much to see. Waterfalls tortoises rum factory and tasting. Temple and statues and monkeys. Volcanic crater. Some shops. Take some insects cream in case you get bites as you in and out the car lots among the foliage. Our driver was Mervin and he was a lovely guy. Took us to a tea plantation at our request and we took some pictures with a worker we were all happy. Thanks Mervin for a great day and lots of memories 😊

Devin was a great driver / guide. Turned up on time and was friendly, knowledgeable and polite. He tailored the tour to suit what we wanted to do and was happy for us to spend longer at some of the stops and miss out one that we didn’t want to do. Overall great value for money and significantly cheaper than doing it through our tour operator. Great day out that we both really enjoyed!

We booked the tour spontaneously. Our driver and guide was a very pleasant person, he made sure the car was nicely climatised and was a cautious driver so we felt very safe. He could also answer every question given. We did not enjoy the chosen restaurant but that was due to service and general hospitality at that place so nothing one the guide or the food itself.

We had a wonderful half day touring the amazing nature of southern Mauritius. Our driver, Chucky, seemed nice at first. We advised him in advance that we would not be needing the Rhumerie de Chamarel and Valle Adventure Park part of the tour, as we're not into those things, and he said "ok, so we'll make it a short day". The tour itself was lovely and decently paced, but after the final itinerary, we asked Chucky to drop us of at a shopping mall near our hotel, instead of at the hotel. He immediately replied that "it will cost you more" for a 5-minute extraa drive and a day cut short by almost 3-hours. We said "no thank you" and immediately cancelled the tour we had booked with Chucky to northern Mauritius. All in all, we left the hotel at 10:30 and returned by 15:00. So much for a 7-hour day. Still, despite Chucky's unacceptable behavior, the nature of southern Mauritius must not be missed - just pick a different driver.

We had an amazing tour of southern Mauritius. The scenery stunning, and there was a great mix of nature, adventure, and local culture. Our driver was friendly and knowledgeable. The tour was well organised, never felt rushed, and gave us a fantastic taste of the south of the island. We did not stay in the usual pick-up area however the company was very willing to accommodate us without any extra cost. We furthermore were allowed to rearrange the itinerary without any complaints. A huge thanks for that!

We had a fabulous day out with Beni as our guide. We visited a cashmere factory, a model boat factory, followed by Trou aux Cerfs Volcano, the Alexander water fall, Black river gorge, Grand Bassin and Chararmel Waterfalls and 7 coloured earth and saw the giant tortoises. All for £75 plus entrance fees to the Charamel Waterfalls which was about £13 each. The views from the top of the mountain were stunning and we learned a lot about the Hindu religion at Grand Bassin. I couldn’t recommend it enough.

We booked a private taxi tour of Mauritius South for our family of four, including two teenage boys, and it was an excellent experience. From start to finish, everything was seamless and enjoyable. The highlights were: the breathtaking waterfalls, sweeping panoramic views, and the strikingly colourful volcanic rock formations. We also appreciated the cultural stop at a beautiful Hindu temple, which gave us a glimpse into the island’s rich traditions. Our driver was professional, friendly, and attentive, making sure we were comfortable throughout. The car was spotless, air-conditioned, and spacious , all perfect for a family outing. We also enjoyed a relaxing stop for lunch, which added to the day. The teenagers loved the variety of sights, and we all came away with great memories. This tour is ideal for families who want to see the natural and cultural beauty of Mauritius in comfort. Highly recommended!

Excellent guide. Chucky was just fantastic,. We wanted to adjust the schedule so that we were not out all day and Chucky gave us exactly what we wanted. He picked us up at exactly our agreed time, made sure we were 100% comfortable and we headed for the sights we wanted to see. He stopped at a couple of amazing views for photos on the way. His knowledge of the island is fantastic and it was a really pleasure to spend the morning with him. I cannot recommend this tour more highly for value and experience.

Sahil was an excellent guide and driver, providing information about each stop and mauritius life generally. We were coming from the east of the island so we didnt have time for the vallee adventure alongside travel to/from the south but still had a great day with the rest of the itinerary. Would highly recommend. We've used other taxi companies but this one definitely was the most informative.

Fantastic trip our guide was very helpful and worked with the weather which was quite unsettled all day. Devin even leant us umbrellas! We saw everything we wanted to see from the Chamarel falls to the 7 colours earth at Chamarel, Alexandra falls, the black river gorge, grand Bassin and more! Would definitely recommend.

We had to delay this tour to Tuesday as the Rhumerie was closed on Sunday. Chukie organised the change with no issue. Suhil our guide was incredibly kind and knowledgeable, he knows everything there is to know about the Island amd the various sites, his driving is incredibly careful and relaxing. The itinerary is planned based on your hotel location and you never feel rushed or overwhelmed. I would 100% recommend this tour just like the North Island tour which we also experienced with Chukie Taxi

Firstly, a huge thank you to Chucky Taxis. They were incredibly friendly, flexible, and accommodating. I had to change my tour date twice at short notice, and they still made sure I could have Asif again after I specifically requested him following my fantastic North Tour. The South Tour was amazing. We visited Chamarel Seven Coloured Earth, Chamarel Waterfall, Alexandra Falls, the temple near the giant statues, Black River Gorges, the famous 52 bends, beautiful viewpoints, and even caught a stunning sunset. Asif was brilliant as always. He is incredibly knowledgeable, answered every question I had, and shared so much interesting information throughout the day. We spent most of the drive chatting and laughing, and he even let me play my own music again. When it started raining, he already had an umbrella ready for me. I also enjoyed Curious Corner, the model ship workshop, souvenir shopping, and seeing a Paille en Queue. I never felt rushed and had plenty of time to explore. These tours have been a highlight of my holiday, and I highly recommend both Chucky Taxis and Asif:)

We went out with Chucky’s taxis twice whilst out in Mauritius. We did both a tour of the North and a tour of the South. Our guides were Chucky (North) and Sahil (South). Both were fantastic; so pleasant, informative and patient. We have two girls aged 8 and 10 and the guides customised the tours to them in terms of length and activities. As adults, we learned so much from Chucky and Sahil about Mauritius, its history and the people who live there. We got some fantastic photos and the girls picked up some lovely souvenirs at the fixed price Port Louis craft market. Our drivers were safe and had air conditioned good quality vehicles. They were on time and couldn’t have been kinder to us if they had tried.
