Authentic South Tour

Exceptional experience, Ibrahim our guide was great. Very knowledgeable and patient for all our questions. We were thrilled to visit the amazing south west of the island, we learned a lot and would highly recommend it! Top level professionals!

Our driver/guide Ibriham arrive at the port in good time. He was not only a safe driver but also very knowledgeable and patient. He showed us everything we wanted to see and answered all our questions. We had a fantastic day thanks to him!

This was an excellent tour! Ibrahim gave us a full history of Mauritius, explaining the multi-cultural population of the island, stopping regularly to show us things of interest that I doubt any other guide would. We stopped for lunch for some delicious Mauritius food before continuing the tour. Ibrahim is a mine of information and facts that made this experience a real highlight of our visit.

Sailen picked us up at our ship and took us to see all the highlights south of Port Louis. He gave an excellent narrative along the way and answered our myriad questions. Every site was well worth seeing and Sailen knew the perfect spots to take the best pictures. He even took us to pick some wild fruit growing along the side of the road. They were called Chinese guava. They were tart but tasty and contain a lot of vitamin C. It was a great six hour trip and ended with a drop off back at our ship. Highly recommend!

I booked a taxi via booking.com, and Cristopher arrived at the airport to take us to the hotel. This is how we first saw and met Mauritius. All the way to the hotel Cristopher was telling us history and interesting facts about the island and its people. We enjoyed Cristopher's company so much, that ended up booking 4 excursions with Cristophe from the agency he worked at: 1. Authentic South - Cristopher was with us at each stop, introducing us to Mauritius's beauty 2. Climbing on Le Morne Brabant - Cristopher was climbing with us, helping to find a suitable rock to step on or pull the body up by using our hands. On our way up, he was generously helping other solo tourists with advice on how to climb, as Le Morne is not the easiest mountain to climb 3. North beaches - Cristopher was giving us enough time to see each beach and swim where we wanted Time spent with Christophe - is one of our brightest memory about Mauritius. Thank you Cristophe for taking care of us and showing marvelous Mauritius from different sides! I recommend excursions with Cristophe for their high quality and moreover warm and friendly atmosphere

Our guide Sailen was really great - caring all the time, he showed us even more than we expected. We had many little stops during our way, where he showed us different trees and lots of natural beauty.

We had a great day with Christopher who took us to many cool places. We saw the real nature and life of Mauritius. Christopher is a very safe driver who makes your day enjoyable 👍🏻

I went on this tour yesterday with Christopher as my driver/guide and it was a very memorable experience. I was in touch with Carine to ensure the tour was confirmed and she was very quick to confirm. They were also able to include my requests to change the interbinary slightly and they did so without additional charge! Christopher was at my hotel almost 15min before time and I was pleasantly surprised. We went non-stop (at my instigation!) for almost 7-8HRs, visiting places, chatting about culture and world at large. He was very professional and engaging throughout the tour so that I felt a bit melancholy when the tour was done. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Mauritius and looking to visit the South area for a good time. I know I definitely enjoyed the experience!

We had a car trip with private driver - Authentic south. Perfect very helpful guide/driver, very committed. All the questions were answered, all our requests were met. Organisation of the trip went very smoothly, communication by email went very fast.

Our tour guide Hans was very knowledgable and friendly. 10/10 on service from him. The overall tour was great, particularly the visit to Charamel. However, it would have been nice to have been asked whether we wanted to go shopping. The first three stops on the tour (rum tasting, tea tasting and textiles) were effectively duty free shops and there was a fair amount of pressure to make a purchase. Other than that, the tour was great!

Driver was punctual and very knowledgeable. Showed us all the sites and answered any questions we had. He also took us to some hidden gems which weren't on the itinerary! His name was Ibrahim and if you get him as your driver, you are in luck! We were also fortunate to be given a car seat for our little one!

Destination Soleil is a great company with friendly staff and great service. The prices are very reasonable when compared to the large online tour companies. Their driver-guides were very friendly, helpful and incredible guides. Ibrahim and Hans in particular were very good. They were very knowledgable about the tourist sites as well as history and culture. The sites included incredible mountain views, temples, rivers, waterfalls and botanical gardens.

My husband and I went on the Authentic South tour with Sailen on Saturday 29th June. Everything was arranged via Carine on email, after a colleague Ibrahim had picked us up from the airport the previous Saturday and given us a leaflet about the company. Both Ibrahim and Sailen, as well as Sailen's brother who happened to take us back to the airport the following day, were all wonderful - they all spoke great English (Sailen's brother the best of all), were very considerate and brilliant tour guides. Sailen picked us up from the Ravenala Attitude hotel, where he actually sustained an injury as he tripped over something whilst cleaning his car, but he bravely soldiered on with us the whole day - and later told us he needed four stitches!!! We were with him from 9-4pm and it was absolutely worth the money. I'll probably forget some places, but we went to the Pride of the Island souvenir shop, which was great because otherwise we just had the hotel shop; we saw the Trou aux Cerfs crater, the Sacred Lake (Ganga Talao) and the new giant statues of Shiva and Durga Mata. We also did the Black River Gorge and then Chamarel Ecopark to see the waterfall and the Seven Coloured Earth. But, in addition to that, Sailen told us so much about the culture of the island, he stopped the car to let us taste Mauritian fruits and he explained about different trees and flowers He stopped at view points for photos and was always willing to take photos of us. He even arranged a place for us to eat our picnics provided by the hotel, as you're not allowed in the Chamarel Ecopark. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone!

Leider musste ich die gebuchte Tour alleine machen da mein Mann erkrankt war. Ich hatte erst etwas Bedenken, aber mein Fahrer und Guide Ibrahim hat sie mir sofort genommen. Er war ein sicherer Fahrer und hat sich sehr gut um mich gekümmert. Mein Wohl stand für ihn an erster Stelle. Zwischendurch hat es stark geregnet und obwohl er keinen Schirm hatte, hat er mich zu den Wasserfällen begleitet. Ich habe unglaublich viel über Land und Leute erfahren. Die Tour war sehr gut ausgewählt und wunderschön. Ibrahim hat den Tag für mich zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis gemacht. Vielen Dank dafür.

We contacted this agency before going to the island. First contact with Quick Carine, well detailed excursions and correct prices. Serious agency, everything was very well organized, very punctual drivers! We made several excursions with Christophe! A treat! He knows his island at his fingertips and talks about it with passion! Even after the ascent of Le Morne, its dynamism does not wane;) Go with your eyes closed! 15 years of experience!

Excellent contact with this agency, they are very attentive to satisfy you at best. Hans is a remarkable driver guide, we really feel that he is there to please us. Very kind. We spent an extraordinary day visiting the south of the island thanks to him. For lunch he found us a typical restaurant with good island cuisine , a real treat. I highly recommend them.

Ibrahim from Destination Soleil showed us the south of Mauritius. He was punctual, friendly and is the tour guide along with driver. That means you pay for the ride and get incl. a lot of information about Mauritius! He has a huge general knowledge and also asked us to share our knowledge! At Ibrahim we would book our tours again and again!
