Club Med Albion - Mauritius

This was certainly one of the most wonderful holidays/stays at Club Med. Besides the beautiful resort, the fantastic team deserves special mention, and in particular Vidya and her team from the Le Phare restaurant, and Romain, as Leisure Manager, with his team, made our stay truly special. Thanks to both of you, we felt incredibly welcome at all times.

The resort is situated in a beautiful location; however, it is clearly aging and in need of renovation, with the maintenance of the rooms lacking. We paid for a beachfront suite, yet the service was poor. I requested two extra bottles of water and two bath towels daily—both via the app and by phone—but the requests were mishandled; it took a long time, and on several occasions, I had to place the order multiple times in the app and call reception as well. A sewage odor emanated from the bathroom area several times a day. Additionally, there were two instances where room service staff entered the room without knocking or checking if we were inside. In the dining room, most of the Mauritian waiters were pleasant, though some acted as if fulfilling our drink requests was a burden. I ordered breakfast to the room, but it never arrived; when I called reception, room service did not answer, so I cancelled the order. I booked a tour through Club Med and called reception the night before for pickup details; they had no information or passenger list and referred me to the tour office, which was closed. Ultimately, the tour was cancelled due to unrest in the city, yet we received no notification about it. It seems there is no coordination between the various service departments at the resort; staff members are fixated on their own specific tasks, showing no willingness to help in other areas or to connect you with the right person. We were a group of three couples—two of which were on their honeymoon—and I certainly won't be returning to this resort. It was a complete waste of money; the price I paid did not reflect the level of service I received. Having visited several other resorts, I can say they still have a lot to learn about customer service. In short, I had high expectations and was deeply disappointed. Club Med is known for excellent guest service and charges premium prices accordingly, yet this resort falls woefully short of Club Med standards. I do not recommend it!

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, the service was excellent, and the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and professional. A special mention to Sabii, the receptionist, and Noé, the buggy boy, who were both exceptionally professional, helpful, and attentive throughout our stay. Their kindness and warm hospitality truly made a difference and made us feel very welcome. Everything was well taken care of, and we truly appreciated the attention to detail. The atmosphere was pleasant, the facilities were well maintained, and the overall hospitality was exceptional. A big thank you to the entire team for making our stay so enjoyable and memorable. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be happy to return! ❤️

While the resort is visually stunning and the food presentation is amazing, the overall experience was deeply disappointing. The grounds are beautiful and the food looks great, but everything else fell short. Service was poor across the board, and the reception staff was unhelpful, uncooperative, and rude with very slow response times. The resort mostly caters to French clientele, leaving other guests feeling overlooked The food was mediocre on most nights with no traditional Mauritian options, and there is no shoreline to actually enjoy the beach. Additionally, our room had an odd, unpleasant smell. For a 5-star resort, I expected much better. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend it.
