What a disappointment of a tour, the boat was full of small kid, running, crying and screaming. Just chaos!!! If you looking for a romantic sunset tour, avoid this one!
apart from the pickup time from hotel to port the trip was really good not overcrowded the Catamaran was great time spent snorkeling and two hours on the island very relaxing and the food on the way back and sunset stop was also great
The activities were good and our guide (Noon) explained everything not even once and was available and helpful with everything you need, including being very friendly. The food was also great is just that we ate a little bit early than our expectation. The problem is that the time went fast while we were still trying to enjoy ourselves.
Nice smooth journey to Koh Hey with snacks and sodas, and beer for offer. The snorkeling was a short stopover and we did not get close to the fish or coral so could not see anything. The only other semi negative was that dinner was half cold by the time it was served on the way back, but the sunset was neat and they stopped to let us take a lot of pictures. Bonus was a full moon coming back.
Tour operator cancelled on us twice, the first time because they weren’t running any cruises on the day that we booked, the second time they cancelled on us when I called them at the p.m. meeting point and they lied to us about saying they had sent an email at 11 am – they had not. They didn’t offer us any other alternatives, was the last day of our holiday and the only boat trip that we had booked. Very poor communication from the tour operator and very disappointing to be let down at the last minute. We managed to book our own catamaran cruise down at the meeting point Pier with another company so luckily we didn’t miss out completely.
The hotel is amazing I have been welcomed hy Sabina she is professional and dedicated to her work, dinner at Tamra which was really delicious and less spicy and room is neat and clean, service is on top notch all the staffs are very kind and friendly, helpful it was my first visit to Shangrila New Delhi thank you for everyone to made my stay more enjoyable and memorable.
Bad schedule design! Have lunch at Pier before trip starts! Otherwise lunch at 3.30pm.Coral island overrated snorkeling is bad! Floating jetty a challenge with banana boats! Dinner is hawker style at 5pm onboard with water and juice only. Bad hosting and trip not recommended!
All sorts of reasons to not trust this operator. Read plenty of Google reviews calling out scams too. If you value your time, money, health and sanity just find another tour operator. Late to pick us up from our hotel, only had one van taxiing 40 people to a pier. When you get to their “head office” you’re told “no drinks or snacks onboard but you can buy them here,” “no activities onboard but you can buy them on the island.” “Ouch sea urchins, here, buy some shoes.” It was just cash grab after cash grab. Was in the hull hiding from the Sun where we saw a plastic bag of cooked chicken just festering. Surely that’s not dinner right? 20 minutes of snorkelling which was tainted by waiting half an hour for people who can’t swim to work up the courage to get in the water. I’d like to know how many of the staff know how to perform CPR on a drowning victim. Oh yeah it was dinner… chicken, rice and veg. I passed on the chicken. Should’ve passed on the entire dinner. No more than 3 hours later my boyfriend was violently ill, shortly after he fell ill so did I. We paid over 2,000 Australian Dollars on medical bills, cancelled our flights and had to book new ones because we were too sick to fly. After multiple tests we found we got Gastritis AND Giardia, the title is no lie. I’m still suffering from this tour. Honestly it was the worst ending to an amazing holiday.
No show No communication with me or hotel No one called to suggest taking a grab to the pier No direct phone number given by agent I called several customer service numbers but non were helpful 😕
Amazing tour, it was so incredibly relaxing and well organized, also the group was small which was perfect and didn’t feel over crowded! I highly recommend, I felt at peace the entire time and the dinner is very refreshing!
Very friendly staff from the moment we arrived very helpfull and kind the boat was lovely we have done this tour before but this time the boat felt over crowed not enough space to chill out maybe less people would make the trip More comfortable but I have to say a big thankful to the beautiful and helpfull Amy who was kind and sweet
The sunset was great. The process was overall slow however. Communication about when to meet at the hotel lobby was confusing. Catamaran Staff was amazing though
We started off with the pickup during a massive downpour. It rained for almost two hours but cleared up nicely towards the end of the cruise. The website said that we would be given towels- make sure to bring your own. We got a hearty Thai-style lunch on the beach. However, our trip started at 1pm and the tide was extremely low by the time we got to the beach that not much snorkelling could happen. The sea was also rough so we had to miss the other snorkelling part of the trip. The sunset was the highlight of this trip.
Picked up directly from my hotel. Arrived at the meeting point and was briefed on what's available options. We took a quick ride to the dock and got on the catamaran. Amazing view on the way to the Koh Hey Island. Once we got to the island we had a free option for snorkeling from the beach entrance. There was a paid options of Parasailing and Scuba Diving. I had to pay for beach chairs with an umbrella. Service wasn't great there. I had to go up to the bar myself after trying to wave down a waiter/tress. There were a bunch a rope swings for photos. Slowly sailed back to catch the sunset and they provided a dinner. We took some time to just float in the middle of the ocean to do some hand fishing. It was a bit chaotic after we got back to the dock. Every boat seemed to have docked at the same time so there was a bit of a wait for the shuttle bus to the main area. It was great over all. I recommend it for a simple fun thing to do.
They don't supply you with enough for what you pay for. Very limited drinking water, dangerous conditions when we got off boat. supposed to be an English speaking guide but they cant comunicate the simpests things . we also didnt get the sorkeling and the so called fishing spots there was no chance of catching a fish. bad from start to finish. save your money.
This was a very disappointing trip and my friend and I did not feel safe at all while on the tour. To start, we were picked up 2 and a half hours before we were supposed to set sail, just to wait around at the pier for an hour and a half before we could board the catamaran. The shuttle driver was very dangerous and we felt so unsafe after experiencing countless near misses during the 20 minute drive. The entire tour group was made up of Chinese individuals and the tour guide could only speak Chinese or Thai (we were not informed of this when booking the tour). The remaining staff could also barely speak any English and there were no efforts made to try and translate the health and safety instructions to myself or my friend. We had no idea what was happening aside from following the rest of the group when they moved. We didn't set sail until 1:20pm which meant we overlapped with other tour boats at the bays and had to wait a long time for space to pull in. During the tour the weather was very windy and raining and the conditions weren't suitable for snorkelling or swimming. There was rubbish in the ocean everywhere and when we reached the first bay, there was still no effort to communicate to us whether we could get off the boat, whether it was safe to swim or which area we should swim in. We had to follow everyone else hoping they knew. We decided to try and make the most of it and jump in the water for a swim as most other people were. We were swimming in a bay with rough conditions and rocky cliffs surrounding us and while we were in the water the captain decided to move the boat and we were told we could not get back onboard until they had moved it. Thankfully my friend and I were good swimmers but we were very concerned for other members of the tour who were not confident swimmers and were being pushed out towards the cliffs and then had to swim further to be able to get back on the boat. Some people were even swimming near the propellors of the boat! It seemed as though they were trying to kill time at this bay until it was time to go to the next one. When reaching the next bay, we had to ask for snorkels as we hadn't been given them nor asked if we wanted to snorkel. We also asked for life jackets and were told they had already been taken to shore for us but when we arrived there were no life jackets. Finally we had high hopes to at least get a good buffet dinner on board however, due to the greediness of fellow passengers and limited amount of food, we barely got any food for ourselves. After returning to the pier we were relieved to be finally going back to our hotel after a ridiculous experience. However, the return shuttles were completely unorganised and for some reason the organisation of the drop of shuttles was not the same order as the pick up. We were told we had to wait 20 minutes for a shuttle to drop off others and come back to take us to our accomodation. Once again the communication was poor and we were left confused. This experience was far below the standard we expected and disappointing compared to other excellent tours we've had in Thailand through TripAdvisor. Given the safety concerns, poor organization, and lack of communication, we request a full refund for this tour.
Firstly, tour operator called us way earlier than our meeting time, rushed us to meet driver waiting at lobby. Half way through our journey our vehicle met with a slight accident, a tuk-tuk vehicle banged the back of our van & shattered the back tempered glass, it was a sudden moment & thank God my husband & son seated at bck of van were not injured. Upon reaching meeting point, there were so many people joining this trip when i was promised no more than 15 pax for a "memorable experience"! Wat a bunch of bs! When asked tour operator said its a big ship & can accomodate 30pax! Im literally very upset becoz chatting with the virtual operator everything was "beautifully narrated" to me! This is really unacceptable. Catamaran broke down on 1st island stop, other catamaran had to tow us out, stop at 2nd island Coral island 1 hr they gave us but all shops were closed!!! We cant even buy 1 drink! Im just pissed at this moment coz this is e worst ever island tour experience with this tour operator, there is no communication on board wat is happening, which island we going, nothing & it was cramped in e catamaran. Pls avoid this operator. TripAdvisor! Pls see to this issue! Its really unacceptable & i want a full refund!!!
Very relaxing atmosphere on the boat, the crew did everything to make this a great experience. Starting with drinks and food, taking pictures for everyone and just being there in case of questions or any needs.
This organization does not follow their cancellation policy regarding inclement weather and refunds. It was extremely windy and down pouring all day on our scheduled day (not safe to be out on the water) and we called an hour before our scheduled sail inquiring about a refund. I got connected to the organization and they hung up on me mid conversation and proceeded to ignore my following calls. I would strongly suggest you look for a more accommodating charter that actually follows their published guidelines.
The whole experience was reasonable, fairly well priced and entirely enjoyable. Whilst the boat was fairly old, the activities were definitely worth the time spent.
Loved the snorkeling at coral Island. The sunset was spectacular. The staff were friendly and attentive.
Great day out at a good price Included transfers Friendly /Helpful staff Unlimited water and juices Good buffet supper They do NOT supply towels
Was very comfortable experience, with a great food and they take a photograph with a professional without cost. Many thanks
Amazing experience! It was the perfect amount of time on the boat and coral island has beautiful swimming (watch out for the jelly fish). 100/10 recommend.
They could have given lunch instead of dinner. Pick up time is 11AM. We arrived on Coral Islsnd at 13:45-14:15 extremely hungry. So we ended up buying lunch on the island. We could not eat much when they served dinner at 16:30. The corals on coral island are dead. Few fishes only.
Boat is nice and outdoor area is spacious. Very relaxing and food was good. Would recommend if you’re looking for a laid back experience.
They send you exactly one message on Tripadvisor a day prior informing you the pickup timing window, which can be easily lost if you are in international roaming with your data turned off. Their provided phone number will route you to an IVR which is only in Thai language, so good luck if you don’t speak Thai. No way to reach the driver or any other person, their expectation is you will actively monitor your tripadvisor messages and be waiting in your hotel lobby during your pickup window. They leave without you if you are two minutes late, which is exactly what happened with us. Cherry on top, they do not actively monitor their Tripadvisor messages and not respond promptly.
There was no sailing included in the trip, just going with the engine. The boat was old and in bad shape. The guide was not active and the information provided by the guide was not clear. No towels were provided. No snacka were provided, only dinner and drinks. I gueas you get what you pay for...
Nice to be on the ocean, got to snorkel off the boat and had included meal on the island. Sunset was beautiful. Was a nice length for a boat trip. Not too long.
The staff are highly professional, very sweet and loyal behaviour.very nice itinerary and professional handling of programmes. Worth your money and time...highly recommended
Great for a half day experience however was surprised that the catamaran had no sails as advertised, we motored the entire trip. The long blue pontoon walkway from boat to island was very challenging over the rolling waves, not suitable for injured/elderly. Island was quite commercialised, free snorkelling was enjoyable, plenty of colourful fish to see. Boat was returned before sunset due to wet season and storms but still lovely.
This excursion involved 2 catamarans and 50 or so passengers. The time spent organising the mini bus loads of passengers at the meeting point and then the wharf and actually getting on to the boats was lengthy. Eventually the catamarans cast off and motored to the Coral Island. Once we got there one of the activities was cancelled due to high currents so we staggered across a floating walkway to the beach and went swimming, sat in shade, drank water until it was time to stagger back across the walkway to board the catamarans. Then motored back snacking on terrible food. Fishing lines were handed out and many people fished for about half an hour before we motored back to the wharf and then disembarked, all before actual sunset. Then organised chaos trying to allocate people to buses (not sure what was wrong with the original lists used to allocate people to buses for the pickup in the morning) Definitely not recommended as an activity.
Highly recommend! The sailing catamaran was remarkable, the staff with high standards, food was great! The island was amazing! I would definitely come back for this! ❤️
4/5 stars because too many people for that boat size. Considering that it was raining and everyone was trying to get in. Towels were not available even confirmed on the booking. The staff was excellent and very friendly. They did a great job!
Staff were great. Boat and facilities etc were good too. We booked this for snorkelling but our experience there was quite limited. Sea was a bit rough for first planned stop which we could see and that was understandable. Even on Koh Hey though, the snorkelling area had little waves coming though which wasn’t ideal for snorkelling and water was quite murky with little to see. Certainly nothing like promo vid we saw before booking. A lot of time is wasted getting there and back too. Waiting in hotel reception for 45mins waiting for pick up. Just sitting in office near dock for 30mins waiting to go on boat. A further 25mins sitting in shuttle at end of trip just waiting to depart. Trip back took 1.5-2hrs all up. Lots of traffic to contend with though so limited what they could do about that.
The boat is a bit small and crowded. Almost 30 ppl on a boat and some need to stay at the deck during sailing. The service is quite good though. Nice tour guide and photo taking service (voluntary tips)
Tor guide great.. explained everything clearly… had a great day…. Very professional and fun .. great value for money.. lunch was tasty and healthy
This was very comfortable trip in the sea. Transport had almost no noise (compared to speed boats) and it was spacious so that approximately 50 people enjoyed it. The food was good with juicy watermelons. Most of the travelers were Chinese tourists so the guide also spoke Chinese.
Overall experience was not great, staff was not helpful at all. They took our video but never shared even after requesting so much. Did not provide vegetarian food and not even banana for kid after requesting so much....never take this package
Fabulous weather made this tour unforgettable. Remember to take your own towels and water as neither are supplied on the Island.
It's best sunset cruise I've taken in my life compared to the many countries I have been to in the world
The trip overall is lovely. You'll have nice view of the ocean and the islands nearby. The boat in itself is fun to ride. Coral islands are beautiful but very commercial. The crew is well trained and polite and will even click your pictures for no extra charge. few cons I found that, the boat has a lot of people on it, like 25. The coral islands everything is too much commercialized. You'll even have to pay for a seat at the beach so be prepared and take cash.
the trip was absolutely great! suited for families and not a long one. The instractor Jackie was very helpfull and funny, all was very exlplained and no surprises. the boat had shady places to seat, the group was about 20-25 people. I read reviews before so please pay attention to these notes: 1. bring a hat and a beach towel with you 2. there's a pier shaky walking to enter Coral island so the trip not suited for disabled 3. bring cash for all water activities they don't take credit cards Well Done! definately recommanded!!!
Excellent trip with excellent staff, one of the best days we had on the island, the food was good and a good choice with soft drinks available, well worth a vist for a good value trip
We had a good day out as a family. Three generations all enjoyed it. More snorkeling time and less beach time would have been better, but all in all, a good day. The sunset was worth waiting for. The crew were excellent.
Pick up from hotel was prompt and comfortable. Highly organized group experience. Cat was comfortable, good English tour guide. 1\2 hour swim, couple hours on beach where there was a bar. Food was at the beach in comfortable setting and was excellent! Highlight was underway and the sunset was awesome on the water. We both thought it was tremendous value. Dropped off at the hotel. Highly recommended! If we come back we would definitely do this again.
We were looking for a romantic sunset cruise and incredibly happy we chose this one. Had everything we were looking for and more. In addition to the sunset - we were able to stop at various beaches to relax. Only downside is that they mentioned they would include a towel - but the sun was our towel anyway - and that food would be onboard but the buffet was on land. I would still do this again !!
Overall a good tour, coral island is beautiful and the boat ride was fun. Good food and great snorkeling spot. We didn’t actually see the sunset, boat was already back to the pier by then. They don’t serve alcohol fyi but you can buy drinks on coral island. Staff was mostly great but the photographer only seemed to photo one small group the whole time. The drives to the pier took forever due to what seemed like communication issues, and they picked us up an hour before advertised. Get a lot for your money on this.
Very organised trip. Staff were well trained and very professional throughout the trip. We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel. The company doing this were very punctual.
