Karon Viewpoint is one of the most frequented viewpoints in Phuket. From here, it is possible to take in views of Kata Noi, Kata Yai and Karon beaches.
From Windmill Viewpoint, beneath the swishing rotor blades that generate electricity for the area (its official name is the ‘Phromthep Alternative Energy Station’), you can spot passing sea traffic, ranging from long-tail boats with their long converted truck motors, to fishing boats heading out into the Andaman, to oil tankers and even mega-sized cruise ships coming from and heading back to Singapore. Flying things Windmill Viewpoint is also a meeting place for model airplane enthusiasts as well as hang gliding types who ride the tropical thermals, eventually coming to a graceful landing down at Nai Harn Beach. Far above and sometimes parallel with the hill, Brahminy kites and sea eagles gracefully glide past. You could be forgiven for thinking that with all this airborne activity Windmill Viewpoint is a crowded spot: It’s anything but, mostly because there’s very little parking space. Still, it’s not only a premium sunset viewing point; it’s also an all-day attractive place with the sea especially azure at midday.
Promthep Cape is one of the island's most photographed and perhaps best-known locations. Every evening, large tour buses, scooters and private cars sweep through Rawai Beach and up the island's southernmost hill in order to watch the sunset at its peak. On the top of the hill stands a busy car park where vehicles disgorge crowds of people from every corner of the world.
Phuket's Big Buddha is one of the most important and revered landmarks on the island. The huge image sits on top of the Nakkerd Hills between Chalong and Kata and, at 45 metres tall, can be seen from as far away as Phuket Town and Karon Beach. The lofty site offers the best 360-degree views of the island, with sweeping vistas of Phuket Town, Kata, Karon, Chalong Bay and more. Relatively easily reachable via a winding 6-km road leading from Phuket's main artery route, it is a must-visit island destination.
Wats - or Buddhist temples - are among the most important symbols of Thailand, partly because the majority of Thais are Buddhist and partly because they are so beautiful. In Phuket alone, there are 29 Buddhist temples spread around the island. Wat Chalong has been extending a warm welcome to visitors for over a century. Locals come to pray and Westerners come to learn something about Buddhism.
Unlike many Thai provincial capitals, Phuket Town fairly shines with personality and nowhere more so than its Old Town. In this historically rich part of town you will find shrines, temples (Buddhist and Chinese), ornate and beautifully preserved 'shophouses', quaint cafés, tiny printing shops, impromptu private and public museums and even a mini ex-red light district. Phuket Old Town was built on riches reaped from Phuket's tin boom of last century, when the metal was an extremely valuable commodity. In this quarter of the town you will see grandiose Sino-colonial mansions, once occupied by Phuket's tin barons of 100 years' ago. Phuket Old Town is compact enough to stroll around in. The best time to do this is early in the morning or after the day has lost its heat.
Khao Rang Hill is one of Phuket’s most famous viewpoints. Located to the northwest of the city centre, its summit offers views out over the town, to the south of the island, neighbouring islands and along the hills forming the ‘spine’ of the island, upon which sits the impressive Phuket Big Buddha. Featuring a nicely landscaped park with children’s playground, three restaurants and bars, a fitness park, and a panoramic terrace - built in 2014 - officialising the viewpoint status of Khao Rang’s summit, the place is attractive and offers its visitors a breath of fresh air in the capital of Phuket Island.
The Banzaan Market is the brainchild of a well-known Phuket family who sought to offer shoppers an alternative experience other than visiting a typical local market. The word ‘banzaan’ means fresh market in Hokkien, a Chinese dialect popular among many overseas Chinese communities throughout Southeast Asia.
(OPTIONAL) The hotspot for watching planes coming into land is at the western end of Phuket International Airport runway, at the southern end of Mai Khao Beach. The place is idyllic: Mai Khao Beach is up to 50 metres wide at low tide, and the turquoise colours of the sea, offer stunning photo opportunities.
(OPTIONAL) Ma Doo Bua Phuket is a cafe and restaurant whose sole purpose is to provide an irresistible background to the new generation of selfie lovers. The main catch is an artificial lake covered with those unusual giant circular floating leaves called Victoria Amazonica, a species of flowering plant, the largest of the Nymphaeaceae family of giant water lilies.
An amazing experience with Tien who was very accommodating and extremely knowledgeable & experienced. The whole day went smoothly & we were able to visit all the sites we hoped for! Would highly recommend.

I only have the greatest things about this tour. Our tour guide, Soon, had an amazing personality and gave us an incredible tour of the city. We enjoyed him so much that we canceled other plans for trip and ask him to continue to show us the things we wanted to see. He is the best and absolutely made the tour better.

We had a wonderful day exploring Phuket with our driver and guide , Mr.Soon.He was very informative, friendly, and showed us the best parts of the island while sharing interesting facts about local traditions, culture, and everyday life in Phuket.We visited the Big Buddha, Wat Chalong Temple, Phuket Old Town and several beautiful viewpoints around the island.One of the highlights was seeing monkeys at Monkey Hill!The whole day was very enjoyable, relaxing, and full of great memories. This tour covers some city highlights but the traffic in Phuket makes it difficult to do so efficiently. Our driver, Mr. Soon, was very helpful and informative.
Know that if you go see the Tigers, you only get tickets for behind the glass. You’ll have to pay more if you want to actually go in and pet the tigers. I read the itinerary wrong. I thought lunch was included, but it’s not. driver just dropped us off as we’re trying to ask Do we pay for our lunch?
Mr Wongsak ( nickname Soon ) was amazing. A truly wonderful tour guide. My husband and I only needed enough information to understand not the history but enough info for every visit we toured, whether it be view points, main attractions or recommendations we suggest he recommended especially the beaches along the way was enough. This made our journey more exciting and our conversations flowing with ease. A truly one of a kind and amazing experience going with the flow for our very first visit to Phuket. So again I Thank you for giving us a wonderful experience Mr Soon.

Our guide, Mr. Soon, was prompt and courteous. He gave us his recommendations about what to see and do, and were not disappointed. He offered a stop at the Tiger Park on the way up to the Big Buddha, and we really enjoyed our encounters with the tigers. All in all, a great day in Phuket.

We plan our Shore Days so that we can see or do as much as possible within the limited time. Our great Driver, Mr. Soon, was excellent at helping us maximize our day in Phukett. Wow! I gave him a general list of items to see from the Viator Activity information. He took it from there. We saw everything on the list, many scenic points, beaches, the best temple in Phukett, shopping areas and went to a fantastic restaurant for lunch. At each place, Mr. Soon would tell us why this was an important place and ask if we would like to spend some time. This allowed us to choose how we wanted to spend our day. We thought we would eat some quick lunch until he suggested (only suggested) a local restaurant near the Big Buddha. We preferred that opportunity and went to it. The food was amazing AND the view was of the entire city and the beach. It was so lovely and ended up being the highlight of the day. His English was good and very helpful as we had many questions about the area and the country. This van was very comfortable. It was a lovely day!
We can’t praise our Thai tour guide Tien enough . She was amazing. My friend has a number of disabilities and walking distances is rather difficult for her . Tien was wonderful with her and ensured that she she was able to enjoy the places we visited and take lots of photos of from the viewpoints. She was so considerate and kind . Also her driving was so good and we felt very safe. Thankfully she could speak English . We were pushed for time as our ship was leaving earlier than we thought so we had to cut out a few places we wanted to visit. We thoroughly our tour . Old Phuket Town Chaithararam Temple (Wat Chalong) Khao Rang Hill View Point Nai Harn Beach Promthep Cape) Karon Viewpoint Nai Harn Beach We’re well worth a visit and we wished we had more time to explore them more fully.
We had a wonderful time. Our driver, Tien, was our personal bodyguard, tour guide. She took great care of us. She asked what we were interested in and she gave recommendations, as well. It was well worth the experience.
Excellent tour. The driver, Mr. Wongsak Boonkong, picked us up on time at the airport. We were spending just a day at Phuket and wanted to maximize our time there and we got to do that. Mr. Boonkong took us to almost all the beaches in Phuket - both ones he recommended and the ones we were curious about. He took us to the popular viewpoints. He also took us to a vegetarian restaurant in Phuket town. It was a very satisfying trip. He also dropped us back at the airport. If you have just a day to scope out Phuket, I strongly recommend arranging for a private tour with viator with a car and a local driver
Driver was prompt and friendly. Vehicle was adequately sized with good A/C. Driver/guide had limited English skills (we have zero Thai skills) but we asked for an English guide. We saw about 2/3 of locations on itinerary. One was closed for renovation (fair enough) but guide said others were too far. Basically, we hit a couple of viewing locations and s couple beaches and a few temples. All in all an OK experience but nothing special.
Mr Soon is a wonderful driver/guide with a comfortable Toyota HiAce suitable for 2 - 8 people. He is extremely obliging, interesting & knowledgeable. Our 6 hour tour covered most of northern Phuket Island in air-conditioned comfort. Consider ourselves lucky as we doubt we could have found a better guide.

I booked this tour for my first day in Phuket. My driver was Mr. Soon. When I tell you this was the BEST experience. First, he pulled up in a luxury van, just for me. But he was able to modify my day as I wanted and he made great suggestions along the way. in total I spent 6 hours with him, including a stop a a cute beachside restaurant for lunch. The amount of history and knowledge I gain along our journey was priceless. He also took the best phots for me! PLEASE ask for Soon if you book this tour and you will not regret it!

DO NOT book this tour. We received a text saying he was busy and sending his sister. She spoke no English and did not understand. She was using Google translate. Also, was not a licensed guide. Terrible experience. We ended up leaving the car and had a wasted day.
We had a great trip. Shopping in Old Phuket, visiting Big Buddha and having lunch at Mountain Breeze cafe. We also enjoyed the pace and allowing us to decide when it was time to move on.

We had a great time. Our Driver/Guide, Mr. Soon, did a wonderful job showing us his beautiful island. You really need to get out of the Patong area to experience it. He picked us up from the pier, on time, and took us all around.
Tienna was knowledgeable and very friendly and helpful. Also a good conversationalist. Our highlights were:- Big Budda visit. Cashew nut factory visit Bird show We ended up staying well beyond our original six hours !!
There were so many memorable moments in our day with Soon, our driver. We covered more than we had our sights set on. Soon was very flexible and accommodating to our groups varied interests. He’s quite knowledgeable and spoke clear English.

To start of with, we had a great time for the majority of the day doing this tour in Phuket with our tour guide and got to see some incredible sights with our tour guide/bus driver. However after having a great time, right at the end he randomly expected us to tip him more twice the amount we was going to tip him (on top of paying for this already of course), due to him apparently going over the 'agreed time' (which he never told us of this in all our time with him beforehand), the funny thing is that he was trying to get us to stay on the tour longer and suggested more places that we could go to with him! This really disappointed and frustrated us as the tour guide here seemed to be very nice and not someone that would look to take advantage of tourists. Unfortunately we was wrong in the end so we can't recommend this tour due to our experience here.

This is NOT a customized tour! We were absolutely mislead as this is not a customized tour, I would have gone with another less expensive company if I had known. This is literally just a hired car service and even then the driver will get frustrated when you don’t want to go to the tiger or bird show he continues to try and talk you into going to. Even worse he argued and didn’t want to take us where we actually wanted to go (shopping for an hour) but eventually did so being very rude the whole time. He could hardly understand us which would have been perfectly fine if I knew I was hiring a driving service but this ad misleads that it is a tour which it is not so we learned nothing about the local areas or the sites we visited. We were not able to extend for the 300 baht an hour to see the temple that we missed and we missed it because he took us to a view point instead of the temple we asked for. Just save you time and don’t book this one, I honestly which I had known. If this saves even one of you the frustration then I am happy.
Mr.Panoporn is an amazing driver .He took good care of my Parents and I on our customized tour. We wanted lunch at Tu Khao Kab in Phuket Town,Tour of Big Buddah and Chapong Wat . He toldus the history,played Thai Music and explained it to us. We are booking again with them for a Phi Phi Island Tour! Please request Mr.Panoporn you won't regret it.
We went for the recommended tour, driver on time, nice van and friendly driver. 1st stop as at an elephant experience which was not part of the itinerary so we said lets go as not what was expected so we left. And then took us to downtown to shop for and hr, not on itinerary either but thought we must have time. Then went to peanut factory not on tour either. Then onto some of the itinerary, which was brilliant driver very informative. But At the end of the day we didn’t do 3 experiences as we went over the 6hrs, and had to pay to finish tour, so we said no we wanted to go back to hotel. Very disappointed we didn’t get to see it all but what we did see was great. Did feel a bit like he was taking us to places to get commission maybe?
Tour guide that drove us around Phuket was great! He made sure we arrived at airport on time. He recommended areas when I provided list of places I wanted to see.

Left waiting for 45 minutes after lunch not able to contact the driver, by whats app or phone, all day his phone messaging active in the car but didn't answer our calls after lunch, He tried to get us to go to this other restaurant but we wanted to go to the fish market, he cut trip short and dropped us off on time but missed last few attractions.

A real private tour. Only you and the great Guide Mad. He knows the Island and the places to be. You are complete flexible and Mad shows you what ever you want to see. If you are looking for a private trip trough Phuket, go for it!
We,as a family, were in Phuket for more than a week and we had this Private cab (a comfortable SUV) with us, driven by Muhammad (Mad) +66 87 599 0126. Right from picking us up from the airport, he took us for all the sightseeing, could speak English, was punctual and very flexible with timings. A very pleasant person and we enjoyed Phuket because of him. He was reasonable with the charges too. Thank God we found him, which made our trip absolutely wonderful:) Thank you,Mad!
