The crew were awesome and flexible! Extremely knowledgeable of the area and great stories! I would highly recommend this experience to anyone. The crew didn’t rush us and they didn’t feel like they made us linger either. Knew when it was right to move spots. Plus it so much more than just the bioluminescent, that almost felt like the cherry on top after an awesome day that we would never forget.

Itinerary
Our tour guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in Phuket
Arrival at Pier for Safety Briefing and continue your trip to main destination.
Explore Phanak Island, immersing yourself in their enchanting landscapes.
These areas are best done by canoe so that you can see the rock formations and hidden lagoons close up
Continue to James Bond Island, also called Koh Ta-pu ('Nail Island' in Thai), first found its way onto the international map through its starring role in the James Bond movie, The Man with the Golden Gun (1974). With its signature rocky pinnacle, the entire area surrounding this island is indeed spectacular. Marvel at the breathtaking limestone cliffs and pristine emerald waters as you paddle through hidden caves and lagoons. After an exhilarating day, indulge in a delectable dinner at the renowned Jaja Restaurant on Panyee Island.
After a delicious local dinner you will embark on a magical journey through the waters around Phang Nga bay, where you can witness the incredible natural wonder of bioluminescence and enjoy exhilarating sea canoeing activities. The phenomenon is caused by chemical reactions within the plankton, which produce light as a by-product.
We stop at the first sea canoe exploration location at Phanak Island and Hong island. Glide through the crystal-clear waters on a speedboat, immersing yourself in the enchanting glow of bioluminescent organisms.
Back at the pier, your day tour journey ends here.

Great experience on this tour. We visited several islands and went through caves to see things not to be seen if you don’t go on the tour. Canoeists take you through waters to see inside the island. Meal at floating island was delicious and plentiful. Then when dark the boat was reversed into a cave so we could get off and see the plankton. Very well organised and would recommend.
This experience was fantastic! Alex my guide was phenomenal! The trip is great! Going out and seeing the water, islands and eating great food! Would highly recommend to others
Amazing experience, tour guides English and knowledge was fantastic. Meal was amazing even accommodation for allergies.
This tour was the highlight of my trip to Thailand. The transitions were smooth, and I loved our guide Alex, just a chill guy to be around. Super knowledgeable, respectful, patient, and let us enjoy our time for every activity. I loved the little storytimes he would tell us, and felt safe to swim anywhere he brought us to as he explained why there was nothing to worry about in the water. He planned the tour carefully in order to avoid the big crowds, and found a way for us to see the bioluminescent planktons even though it was almost a full moon, and some other tours specify that they don’t guarantee you will see them. The kayak was really fun, and the guy guiding it made sure I got cute pictures. I also loved seating at the front of the boat and dangling my feet whilst looking at the crazy view. The food was amazing and for every taste, and was more than enough, coming from someone that eats a lot. Remember to bring clothes that are more covering for the restaurant:)
Was an amazing experience, Alex our tour guide was awesome and told us everything we needed to know, everything was taken care of. Super friendly crew and super knowledgeable. Dinner was amazing and had the perfect view, as we were on a village in the middle of the water! Wicked experience worth every penny.
We had a great time on this trip! The itinerary was different because of weather and tides, but we still had a great time. Dinner was great with a variety of Thai food and some western options. I would recommend bringing clothes to cover yourself for the dinner. It's a Muslim village and bathing suits and tank tops wouldn't be appropriate.
Form pick up to back home .. everything was so high standard :) amazing views, best experience I had:) we stopped in lovely place to eat, food was high quality with amazing view!
Overall this was a great experience, the crew was wonderful and knowledgeable about all the things we were doing definitely would recommend for anyone who is looking for a full day boat trip!
Really great tour. Bring a towel otherwise all else is provided. The bioluminescent part was magic. Dinner was good variety. James Bond Island was fun but all of it was great. It's just nice to be on the water and relax. The crew all knew what they were doing.
This Tour is incredible. It was an unforgettable experience. Our guide was great.
A very authentic experience. Our guide and the crew are very skilful. I recommend this tour! Enjoy! 🙂
Very professional operator, good communication and good value. Small comfortable and fast boat with great crew.
Best trip and best experience ever. Everything was just perfect, guide is very experienced and did his best in everything, food was great, ride was safe, most beautiful islands in the region, we enjoyed our time to the max. We recommend this tour to anyone who wishes to see the best in this region, for sure better than the phi phi and maya bay tour! Thanks team for the unforgettable experience ❤️
Amazing tour .My guide Gerry was SUPER .. fantastic day and great value .Highly recommend
This is quite a pricey trip but it is absolutely worth it. I went with my 10 & 13yr old and we had an amazing day. It's really well run and the staff are great. Unlike lots of Thai day trips it's very slick, but still really friendly- each visit was the perfect length and we had plenty of drinks/ etc and shade through the day. The food was good in the evening and we did see the bioluminescence- it was worth going- excellent experience and memories made.
Get a good variety of islands. Alex our guide was the best. I would recommend taking water shoes with you and something to cover yourself with for eating in restaurant.
I wish I could rate this place high than 5/5. It was simply incredible. The whole day was absolutely perfect you have to book this trip. You visit paradise and never want to go back. Sadly there were thunderstorms in the late evening so couldn’t go to the beach to see the bioluminescent plankton but my guide took me on a canoe into the caves of hong island where you could see the plankton in the water, it was magical! My guide, San, was an absolute legend. Every time I come back to Phuket I will make sure to meet with him because he is the nicest person in the world. 5starmarine is very lucky to have him! Thank you so much for everything ❤️
Our experience of the trip was incredible! The tour guide did great to explain where we would go and answered any questions we had about the trip. Our tour group was small, and everything went smooth throughout the island hopping. When we arrived at dinner, we had a lovely table set for our meal and plenty of freshly made food for everyone. The service was amazing and when I asked if possible to get a birthday dessert for my boyfriend last minute, they didn't hesitate! On our way back a storm did blow through our course and the boat crew did amazing keeping us safe throughout the rest of the tour as well as back to home base, plus the view of the storm was beautiful and definitely a once in a lifetime memory with the bioluminescent algae 🌺🏝️🌅💙
We were originally hesitant about spending a full day island hopping and read all the reviews deciding. In the end, we went and boy, were we glad we did. Such a unique experience viewing the rock formations, walking through the caves, dining local Thai cuisine, and viewing the bioluminescent planton in the cave. This is a legitimate tour company running a well-organized tour with friendly, local staff. Tips: 1. Option to swim - water was warm but not clear. Short time in the water, so decide if staying in a wet swim suit afterwards is worth the dip. 2. Slip on shoes for walking on land and taking off while on boat. Water shoes recommended for walking in the caves. 3. They supply lots of water and soft drinks throughout the day, and fresh fruit towards the latter part of the tour. 4. There is a small washroom on the boat. Do take advantage of washroom facilities on the islands. 5. Canoes are used to reach the caves. Bring cash before boarding the canoes so you can tip the hard working paddlers. 6. There is also a tip box for the crew who kept us safe and gave us such a memorable experience. 7. Go. Enjoy.
If you or someone else gets hurt during the tour, be prepared to endure the pain until the crew decides it’s time to take you to medical attention. If you’re not injured, be prepared to listen to the agony of a passenger as the tour continues until the crew decides to intervene. This unfortunate incident could have been avoided if the crew had called and arranged for a boat to meet us at the next stop. While we were provided with dinner, we had to endure the sound of a passenger on the boat crying out in pain. Although the tour continued after waiting for another boat for 45 minutes, it was not an enjoyable experience. I only disembarked at the next stop due to strong encouragement from the crew. My aunt, however, remained on board and was repeatedly asked to get off. I requested a partial refund, as this was the last half of the trip and I did not enjoy it. Unfortunately, my request was denied.
Fantastic from start to finish. Hosts were informative and fun. Locations were amazing. Really enjoyed the canoe experience. Dinner was absolutely devine. Bioluminescence experience was wonderful! Highly recommend this trip for anyone wanting to spend the day experiencing the islands around Phuket. Would suggest a few beers available to purchase with dinner.
Honestly one of the best tours ive been on in my life. The tour itself is very thoughtfully curated and you touch on all the major experiences of this islands. The sites were breathtaking and the crew was very detail oriented and phenomenally friendly and informative. I would recommend anyone visiting in the area to try this tour. Teddy was an excellent, funny host and I hope he's able to do this as long as it bring him and the crew as much joy as he showed.
Fabulous late afternoon/evening trip. Well looked after, not strenuous, the site were wonderful and the floating village a highlight with the food provide by them being exceptional and excellent. Staff were happy and informative also noted how clean the boat was, staff were cleaning and keeping tidy throughout. Recommend to anyone in the area. Son was our guide. 🙏🏻
Overall, we were underwhelmed with this tour. We chose the “no pick up” option because when attempting to get picked up from The Village Coconut Island it said we were outside the pickup area despite being only 15 minutes from the pier. We didn’t mind taking our own transport but turns out the message they send regarding instructions and meeting time matched the time that was also sent out to those getting picked up from hotels. So we arrived at the marina an hour early and sat around in the heat waiting to leave. Those getting picked up from the hotels hit traffic so it was further delayed and we left from the marina late. The boats they use are pretty enclosed so there’s very little air flow and still hot and stuffy on the boat unless you sit in the very front which only accommodates 4-5 people. The cave, James Bond Island and canoeing were as expected. The floating village was pretty neat and food was decent. While the plankton were unique and good to say we’ve seen them, I can’t say I’d go out of your way to see them if not already apart of the tour. A couple additional things to note - when the tide is low the water isn’t turquoise and picturesque but rather a brown tinge. There is a swimming stop but because it was low tide for us, it wasn’t pleasurable at all. It was muddy with broken shells and even an old tire. It was good to cool off but that’s about it. After seeing the plankton, the boat ride back was about 40 min on pretty choppy seas. The staff were all kind and respectful and Phil took photos for us and send them after the tour - a nice perk. We have nothing bad to say about the staff as they were all attentive to our needs and made sure we were safe.
This bioluminescent tour was absolutely incredible and one of the highlights of our trip. The entire day was perfectly organised and packed with unforgettable experiences. We started with caving, which was both fascinating and adventurous, such a unique way to explore the natural beauty of the area. Kayaking through the stunning scenery was peaceful and immersive, allowing us to really take everything in at our own pace. Visiting James Bond Island was a real highlight, iconic, beautiful, and definitely worth seeing in person. After that, we enjoyed a delicious dinner on a floating village, which felt like such a special and authentic experience. But the true magic came at the end of the evening… seeing the bioluminescent plankton. It was absolutely breathtaking. Watching the water light up with every movement felt surreal, like something out of a dream. It’s one of those rare experiences that you simply can’t capture in photos, only truly appreciate in the moment. Everything was seamless, well-paced, and thoughtfully planned. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone,it’s a perfect blend of adventure, culture, and pure natural wonder.
Really good tour . Snacks before tour , organised in groups . Great safety protocol , very well run n efficient time allocation . Yes visited like 3 islands at least but actually , some like James Bond - nothing to see. Caves walk n mudskipper was interesting together with a leisurely canoe ride pedal by the locals . U just watch n walk not much to lift. Dont expect to swim- not much time as well as no place to shower later anyway- water is murky - soaking is good. Water proof bag actually not essential unless u bring valuables swimming else. U don’t even hv to buy anything . Definitely get notes for tips to the canoe pedallers and tour operator . Great shoots to take . Plankton is over rated no fault of theirs bec of the murky water . U won’t want to stay long . Moon light is great. Provide water n coke plus fruits on the way . Thank you ! English speaking definitely
Very good trip, we saw lots of islands in a relatively short about of time. Some of the islands were a bit touristy (the James Bond island). Dinner was great at the floating village. The team were very good, and seeing the plankton was impressive although different to the photos provided by the company.
Great experience on the speed boat lovely food at floating village bioluminescent not as spectacular as shown in advert but a good experience still
The tour delivered everything as promised. We really enjoyed the canoes at Hong Island and dinner at the floating village was amazing! We were lucky to see the bioluminescent plankton since it was a dark moon. We did have a miscommunication with the pickup location but got there in the end. When we arrived at James Bond Island the water was too low to get to the shore for our boat, but the team found a way to make sure we ultimately got there and still enjoyed the experience.
Efficient, hospitable, friendly and informative organized tour. We had fun, we learnt, we enjoyed. Nature was incredible, beauteous view and luckily we had a glorious weather. The warm rain in the evening was spectacular. Felt like a brief monsoon with distant lightening. Sunny, the leader and his team were outstanding and always concerned about safety. As the only few Seniors, we had a safe and a manageable pace of exploration, Bravo sunny who shines in his “office”.
I traveled alone and have some minor limitations. The staff explained our timeline and what we were going to do. The floating Muslim community and homes was a highlight for me. The islands are wonderful. We moved from one activity to the next and I found the time well spent.
This was my favorite tour by far from my holiday trip! It started later in the day and we didn’t get back too late, even after seeing the bioluminescence. With Teddy as our guide we were loaded onto our boat at the Phuket Boat Harbor and got to go to Phanak Island, Hong Island, James Bond Island, Phang Nga Bay, dinner, Ko Panyi (for bioluminescence.) All the islands were absolutely beautiful and we had more than enough time at each. The canoe ride at Hong Island was so cool. We were taken to see so many cool formations and it was just super peaceful. The bioluminescence was super cool to see and there was so much. Quick tip, if you would like to record the bioluminescence make sure you research how before you go on the trip. Using your normal phone camera barely caught any of the bright sparks that we were making in the water.
If you book one activity in Phuket, this is it! From start to finish the team took excellent care of us and made sure we had a wonderful time. It was a packed day but perfectly planned. The group was the perfect size and we didn’t feel rushed at all. Our luxurious pick-up van had great A/C and the pier restroom was immaculate. Cold drinks and nice snacks provided while we waited for the rest of the group to join. Then a great speed boat ride, exploring the caves, sea canoeing, James Bond Island, a gorgeous sunset on the boat & then dinner at the fishing village! Have your camera ready for the fishing village because it’s beautifully lit at night with the mountains as a backdrop! Finally, we got to interact with bioluminescent plankton in the water! Cameras won’t work for this so just relax and enjoy. It felt like catching fireflies in the water. They warned us that viewing the plankton depends on the tide & moon (no moon and high tide is best) so we would t be disappointed if we didn’t see it. They were white and so fun to play with in the water! But after 5-10 mins it’s enough time. The whole day was magical!!
Amazing experience with the local tour guid Alex. Super good guide and incredible experience that you just must do! The food provided was also great and it was so cool to be in the water at night to see planktons that a photo can’ capture.
I would give 5 milion stars to Alex and his crew. He has the best info since he is a local and grew up around those islands. He knows how to see functions and really tries to catch the best times to visit all of the places that are in his incredible itinerary. It’s very flexible and they review great snacks and drinks the whole time as well as they bring you to one of the best places to have dinner before you go out to see the glowing magic that happens in a cave with the glowing Bioluminescent Plankton. I can definitely say that this was the best where I ever took. So different until unique. I hope that Alex continues showing people places where he grew up, and that the company that hires him is aware of his quality and professionalism. Thank you, Alex so much , we will never forget this ❤️❤️❤️
Nice overview of Phang Nga Bay... islands, caverns, floating village, & more via speed boat, canoe, & walking.. plan to get wet, be able to board canoe from boat, and enjoy day with small group.
The tour was great. Teddy was a great tour guide and we were able to witness some incredible beauty and unique things. The speedboat got us everywhere quickly and safely. The crew on the boat were very helpful and courteous .
We are travelling around SE Asia and this has been one of our best trips yet. The first stop was to a cave which was accessed via a beach filled with lots of cheeky monkeys. Safety helmets were provided and we took some great photos of the hidden lagoon from inside. Next we visited James Bond island for some great photo ops and a dip in the sea if we wished. Bottles of water were provided by the crew throughout the day. The next stop was a chauffeured kayak tour on Hong Island which we enjoyed massively as it gave us free rein to take photos and just enjoy the view. Our guide pointed out different shapes in the rocks and told us a bit about the island. We stopped at another island to take photos of the sunset and relax/go in the sea, then we moved on to a delicious buffet dinner at the Floating Village. The bioluminescent plankton was a real highlight and despite it being slightly weather dependent (the moonlight can affect visibility) the crew went above and beyond to make sure we saw it. We were taken for a second chauffeured kayak in the caves do maximise the darkness and we were shown the glittering plankton by moving our hands through the water. Our guide also splashed the water against the cave walls to illuminate them too. Then we took the boat back to Phuket in the darkness so you could see the brilliant stars above. Totally recommend this trip!
Absolute best day ever. The tour itself was incredible and life changing, and luckily we got to see the bioluminescence. Even without seeing it, it would’ve been the best day. Amazing tour guide, amazing people, great food, and a really awesome atmosphere. If you do anything in Phuket do this.
It was a fun experience. They let us swim at a beach for a while and at the kayaking there were people that paddles for you.
Great experience being in a boat at night. Very professional!. We did couple islands! They did their best to see the bioluminescent!
This tour was amazing. Alex was a great guide, and all of the crew were so friendly and helpful. It was not very busy at any of the islands because it was at the end of the day. For me, the highlight was the bioluminescence at the end. Got to swim and play with the plankton. It was a perfect day! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone considering it.
This was a unique experience! Walking through a cave was super cool. The bioluminescence experience was amazing. Canoeing in the lagoon was also something I will never forget. Halal food on the Muslim village was great.
Great tour! Great crew, (5 Star Marine, and the kayak guides). Good food, and a lot of fun! The bioluminescence tour was really cool!
1000/10 recommend booking this tour. We booked last minute and had an amazing time. The crew is so young, fun, lively, and friendly. They really made a huge impact on the atmosphere. Beer (if that's how you spell it) was a great guide. Spoke amazing English and taught us a lot about each place we visited. We saw glowing plankton, monkeys, birds, fish, and beautiful sights. Definitely worth the visit & money!
Beautifuly organized! Not to crowded, felt a bit like exploring by ourselves. Even before the tour starts the give you tea, coffee, drinks and snacks. On the tour you have your constant choice of soft drinks, water, fruit and the dinner is delicious. Phil, our guide did an amazing job...the bioluminescence we saw in a cave as it was almost the full moon. But still I am so greatful for having finally seen it. We had one of the most magical days in Thailand, thanks to that amazing team🩵
Honestly this was the best experience I have had in Phuket thus far I would strongly recommend this excursion to anyone
Excellent tour. Guide was very friendly and caring. He explained all the necessary things and gave proper guidance on safety. Food was also good
It's great! Wonderful staff, knowledgeable, kind, helpful. Nice variety of actiivities. Highly recommend.
