Khai Islands Snorkeling Premium Trip From Phuket

I signed up with them and asked for transportation which they said they would provide if I paid them 1300 baht. I had no trouble with that and they just said that I would pay it when I got to the pier. However, the morning I was supposed to be picked up I got a message 15 minutes before the pick up that they were not picking us up because I didn't respond. The problem is that no where on their message did say to respond. At the point I figured out what was happening it was too late to get to the pier on time for the trip. I then asked them to change it to the next day and they refused. Since they were paid, I assumed that they would rebook me, however, they said it was company policy not to rebook. I would avoid this company as there are plenty of other snorkeling companies around Phuket.

Excellent boat trip. Great snorkelling. Nice crew. Not as good as full day phi phi trip but great if you can’t stomach the full day.

Overall, I had a positive experience. We were transported safely from island to island and provided with scuba equipment and snacks beforehand, along with water while we were on the islands.

First island was nice. But short time. They talked about snorkling, but there was none. Just swimming at the beach. The last beach was awfully overcrowded. No fun at all or relaxation. Basically they take you to these island where you almost are forced to buy overpriced food and chairs. Travelling with speed boat. I'd recommend you to find a tour with a bigger boat. Much better. The tour guides was more interested in acting "cool" rather than provide an interesting tour experience. Reminded me like a 'hip and cool" tour service you find in the Greek islands. Not for me.

Enjoyed all the islands they were beautiful. Saw lots of fish while snorkeling. You have to pay to use the chairs on the beaches so bring money.

It was a quick ride to the island and the half day allowed an hour at each location and we enjoyed our time. We saw plenty of fish and other sea life while snorkelling. The crew were very good, stopping to rescue a man and his young son they saw floating in the ocean. The pair found themselves in trouble after falling off the jet ski they had hired. Overall a great morning returning to port early afternoon.

Great Tour with Perfect time of 5 hrs utilised to the fullest with fantastic experience by all our friends. Really enjoyed it

Picket up and dropped off at the cruise terminal at 12 md as instructed to then wait 2 hrs for everyone else to arrive At 2 pm when about to leave they tell us if we wanted flippers they could be hired ,that took another 15 mins The boat trip was fine only the seating we were squashed in like sardines and you couldn’t see any view out of the windows as the seats are below the deck When we reached the first island you had to jump off the back of the boat , however getting back on the ladder was short a few rungs and you had to step up above your waist deep water to get in Very difficult unless your very agile NO one was there to assist When I requested to board the boat earlier than the hour allotted the deck hand shoowed me and others away with his hands numerous times and just walked away not allowing us to board There were 5 crew members and three of them smoked continuously throughout the 3 hr trip sitting on the bow of the boat with smoke floating into the cabin They all had little or no English with a boat with 90 % English speakers The second island it began to rain and I had my bag outside on a seat and again the young boy would not allow me to get on the boat The two beaches we stopped at were packed with people , like a busy tourist attraction Not a nice peaceful atmosphere given the beautiful islands Everywhere there were dozens of jet skies reving around again not conducive to an island adventure Overall 2.5 hrs stopping and snorkeling for a 5.5 hr waiting ? Warning if you have any mobility issues this boat trip is not for you I think the company needs to look at how they train staff to at least be polite and maybe educate them as to not everyone likes second hand smoke blown at them constantly and to replace the broken step I have been on many similar boat trips and never experienced anything like this one A most unenjoyable half day

Well organised.. I took a whole day trip which gives you a bit more time on the Islands without another 10 boats full of people. As most of them stays half to one hour and go. Drinks , lunch , snorkelling as promised. Nice trip

The shuttle driver was 20 minutes late picking us up. We booked this snorkel excursion assuming they would provide snorkels and flippers. You had to rent the flippers. They didn’t have any that fit a size 7US women. We were told the two of the 3 islands we were going to had coral bottoms and we needed reef shoes. This was not mentioned in the details. They do not rent reef shoes, you had to buy them for $250bth. Two of the islands we stopped at were nothing but tourist traps and over crowded. On both the way there and the way home, it took almost two hours to get back to Kata Beach because of all of the pick ups and drop offs that had to be done.

Lovely clean boat, picked up from hotel on time, free fruit and water, female host was fantastic. Would go again - thank you!

Time management of this tour was very poor. The promised time was 12:30-4:30pm. However had to wait at the pier for 1.5 hours from 11:30am, didn’t get back to the hotel until 7pm. Had to cancel Appointments made. Very disorganised.

The guide was good but the overall experience was anything but "premier". The boat was run down, the quality of snacks and beverages they provided was not of a great quality. We also had a really bad experience with one of the boat staff who was downright rude. The itinerary was also not great! Too long waiting times in some and too little in others.

The tour was great, I would recommend a full day tour because you can relax half a day on one of the islands. The last island overcrowded, a waste of time to go in for snorkeling. Paid toilets everywhere, what with this amount of tourists they could embrace.

The whole process was so seamless I thought it was too good to be true but from when the pickup happened at my hotel the experience only improved and got better. The guides Simon and Bobby were amazing, the islands were beautiful and relaxing and the jet skiing was a whole lot of fun. Could not recommend this trip enough, especially at the price.

The trip was not bad, but it started really bad. We waited 1:30 for picking up us at 7:00am. To go to the meeting point we woke up at 6:00 and catched a boat at 6:30, so we had no choice to have breakfast at hour hotel. Nobody contacted us for the delay until I asked when we were waiting for an hour with two kids. I filled a formal complaint to cancel the trip and be refunded, but the day after I got a answer from the tour operator that the refund was denied because they picked up us on time: FALSE! I will never use viator to book any trip again. Fortunately, our guide, Simon, was awesome and made us forget these inconvenients.

Super crowded islands with a hard sell - pay to use a deckchair on one and on the second free deckchair if you but drinks. Islands super crowded, with rocky sea bed and limited scuba diving. Paid 2000tbh for 2 x jetskis for 20mins but was only given 10 minutes. That said its only around 3 hours so a quick chance to see an island or two if you’re short on time or money. Staff were helpful.

The boat the crew were amazing. So engaging, helpful and interactive. Loved them so much. But after a long time since visiting, the islands are so sad and run down. Most of the beach space is commercial, it's so difficult to swim and snorkel between boats and jetskiis. The tourist areas are the smallest. We love groups of cocktail and beer visitors. Most now are Chinese etc and very isolated. No interactions or fun.

We did the half day tour which was a perfect amount of time snorkelling at each of the 3 stops. Communication was good. Our driver was 30 mins late for pick up and I had to message to find out where he was but apart from that everything ran smoothly. The boat operators are lovely and even though there is lots of dead coral we saw some pretty fish and a few pieces of colourful coral. Definitely recommend. Was super easy to book through Viator.

A nice trip with very friendly tour guides. Unfortunately just a lot of people on the islands and the waves were too rough for snorkeling. Didn't get to see much but the whole experience was nice. If you enjoy sunshine, beaches, and cats, it's a nice getaway. We did the half day which was more than enough, full day would've definitely wiped us out.

This was one of my highlights of my vacation in Thailand. Everything was really enjoyable. Would revisit this trip again.

Good trip. I didn’t like when they charge me more than (double) said at booking time to catch me at the hotel, in the middle of a vacation, that girl couldn’t stop call me, desperate, a day before the trip. I understand they should charge what they feel like, but I wasn’t tell before. Even if I don’t agree with the extra charge I couldn’t book another trip with another place because I didn’t have the time, it was literally 15 hours before. It was awful. But the trip was awesome, the guys at the boat are very kind and helpful, very concerned with safety and we don’t feel hungry or thirsty anytime. Maybe the full day is too much, it’s too hot, the sun is savage. Half day seems a better idea to me.

Nice staff om the boat. Had every Things under control. Snacks and drinks were transported to the Islands. Unfortunately jellyfish ruiner snorkling twice, but we Got to go on the 3rd island

Got picked up way to early and had to sit and wait 2 hours waiting for everyone else to arrive when ur was a 20 min journey to the dock. Then on the way home I had to sit and wait an hour for people off a completely different trip to show up and when asked how long i will be waiting for he said 1/2 hours he didn’t knoq

If I were to book this now I'd book the full day trip. Fins were not included in the snorkeling equipment which is a bit regrettable, and there was quite little snorkeling eventually compared to what we expected. Because of jellyfish we completely skipped the main snorkeling spot, and we wish there would be another alternative spot in cases like this. Otherwise this worked out very well, we were picked up at our hotel and taken good care of. They offered us some snacks on the trip aswell.

The hotel pick up was torture. We got off a cruise ship tender and found the hotel meet up. Then made 3 more hotel pick ups before the hour drive to the marina. This speedboat and islands were great. We did have to pay for beach chairs at 2 stops. Left Marina at 5:30 pm and didn’t get back to ship until 7:30 pm. For half a day tour we were on for 9 hours.

The tour operator never got in, touch with us in a timely manner to tell us where we were supposed to meet him. We walked up and down the street looking for someone with a sign or our names, and could not find anyone. They still charged us, even though we could not find where they were. I appealed the decision, but was told the operator had already incurred costs. I may never use Viator again let alone this company.

This was not a good experience - snorkelling is sub standard and the boat was extremely crowded and bumpy.

The half day experience was great (return to the pier around 1.30pm). The first stop was a bit long with just over an hour and a lot of people snorkeling in the same spot. It was a bit tricky that after about half an hour I felt I had seen enough but couldn’t properly relax at the beach; the vendors were everywhere and chairs were put on the beach right to the water so there was hardly any space to sit without buying a chair for 150THB. I’m not mad about the fact that you have to pay for a beach chair, I think that’s the case with most touristy beaches. It’s more the fact that you’re almost left with no other choice, and given that the tour starts in the morning and you reach the first stop, the idea of getting a beer and a chair is not very tempting. The second stop was great getting off the boat in the middle of the ocean by a coral reef, that was a great experience. The last stop is again an island with chairs to rent, which as an end of the trip around noon time was very nice in my opinion. In all 3 Spots I saw colorful fish and great corals, even though we had a full moon, strong tide and murky water, I still enjoyed it a lot. Half a day was sufficient, if you spend most time in the water it’s also exhausting enough after half a day. The only downside as described I see in the rather long time in the first stop with an unfortunate beach situation.

Absolutely stunning! White beaches and fab snorkeling Simon our guide was good fun and made everyone at ease with each other.

The tour is called snorkling, but we didnt see much of it, it was simple snorkling close to beach and didnt have much to see. A few fish only.. Other than that all was good, boat, leader and islands

This was a waste of time and money. So over crowded. Constant harassment for money. Hardly saw one fish while snorkelling. Do not book it!!!

Took my family on the day trip....had a wonderful FULL day snorkeling and glad we chose the full day....TOur guide was super friendly and look after us....Many Thanks

The first island we were followed most of the time be someone selling and had to pay to sit on a chair. The second stop for snorkeling was terrible nothing to see not even a fish. The 3 island was nice and although there was no coral there were lots of fish so did snorkel there we would of been happier just going to the lady island

Did not enjoy this trip at all. It was crowded, attention and service was minimal and the snorkelling itself was disappointing. It felt like at every turn, we were walking into a tourist trap. It costed additional 100 baht fo rent find, 150 baht to put your bag on chair if you wanted to go swimming (I ended up just putting my stuff on the sand for free), 20 baht for use of toilet etc. Would not recommend.

We really enjoyed the full day trip we booked. Because we booked the full day trip we also got lunch and stayed at the last island untill 17:00. This gave us plenty of time to relax and swim. The whole day you can grab free water and pepsi. They also offered fruit miltiple times. The tour guides were also very kind and informative. We really enjoyed this trip and recommend it to everyone.

We have been to Phuket before and had an injured person in our group (broken wrist) so wanted to do activities that were supportive of that without leaving anyone out. This trip to the Khai islands was just what we needed for some sea, sand and gorgeous scenery. The water is really that turqiose colour and we got some great photos - really stunning. It was a little touristy, but that's to be expected and it was not too in your face annoying. Bring THB for the local options - food and ket ski, plus of course, need to tip your guide! The toughest part of course is getting to the marina, which is always so far away (1 hour from the Hyatt) but worth to get the transfer as otherwise you can't find where to meet up with the boat.

Good snorkeling and beautiful islands! Quite expensive on the islands as you would expect. Our two young children enjoyed it very much! Half day trip wasn’t back at pier until 2pm, so the trip wasn’t rushed.

Day went smoothly. Guide was very good. Snorkelling was easy buy not as great a variety of fish as I would have expected.

It's no nonsense. They pick you up, give you a briefing, put you on a boat and off you go. The head guide was very helpful (bad with names) I'll never forget being underwater on that reef. It's like a whole city of coral and fish down there. One of the highlights of my trip to thailand and I highly recommend doing it

Our recent trip to the Khai Islands was with a private group of 10. The Tour Lead welcomed us warmly and we were briefed on the tour including a safety briefing. We had an excellent day despite bad weather and all the locations were welcoming and accomodating with the Tour Lead giving great service. We would highly recommend this trip to others looking for a private group experience. This was excellent day tour. 🙂
