Khai Island Private Boat Tour

We booked our tour via WhatsApp a few days before departure. We received a very good price, probably because it was low season. The communication beforehand was excellent, and we really appreciated being able to customize the tour according to our own wishes. When we arrived at the marina with their arranged private driver, we received a very warm welcome, and they were also incredibly kind to our two young children. Our guide, Sandy, showed us a large map of the islands and gave us her recommendations since the weather conditions were not ideal. She made it clear that we could change our plans along the way, which was especially reassuring when traveling with small children. We set off with the captain, Sandy, and the engineer, first heading to Khai Nai and later Khai Nok. The crew did everything possible to ensure we had the best experience, even though these two small islands are no longer as untouched and private as we naively thought. There were vendors waiting to sell us various things, and it was very comforting that Sandy stayed with us throughout. She also took several photos during the trip, which were later sent to us. At Khai Nok, they anchored away from the other boats, so although there were a lot of visitors, it actually felt very peaceful considering the number of people there. It was wonderful that they had taken this into consideration simply to make our experience better. At one point, both of our children fell asleep on the boat at the same time, and Sandy kindly offered to watch over them. This gave us half an hour of adult time, during which we were provided with snorkeling gear and could jump into the water just a few feet from the boat. It was the best half hour of our entire vacation! Afterward, we were taken to a small floating village/island where the restaurant is recommended in the Michelin Guide. At first, we thought it would be crowded, but we had the whole place to ourselves. It felt magical sitting there in the middle of nowhere, enjoying deep-fried whole crab and whole fish at a low table above the water, surrounded by fish farms, shellfish, and pearl farms on weathered wooden platforms. Even the primitive toilets had ocean views through the gaps in the floor. Incredible! The local people work incredibly hard, yet they remain so kind and welcoming toward tourists like us. We were also served a beautiful platter of freshly cut fruit made by the boat crew, drinks throughout the trip, and refreshing cold towels. Nothing was missing. We absolutely loved the experience and hope to repeat it one day. Would recommend to everyone! A huge thank you to Sandy and the entire crew!

We booked 5 Star Marine for a last-minute Khai Islands private tour, and they exceeded all expectations. We originally had a James Bond Island tour with another company and thought it would take the whole day. Surprisingly, we finished around 10 AM. At 10:30 AM, I contacted 5 Star Marine hoping they could accommodate us without any prior reservation—and they did! They arranged to pick us up from our hotel by 1 PM. Truly impressive service. From the moment we were picked up, the staff were extremely accommodating and polite. Our guide, Noon, was especially wonderful—very attentive, reassuring, and warm. I was nervous about snorkeling in the open, deep water and happened to mention that it was my birthday. To my surprise, when we returned to the pier, she had prepared a birthday cake for me. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made the experience extra special. The fruits and drinks included in the package were fresh, clean, and beautifully prepared. Everything felt well-organized and high-quality. Overall, we loved the entire trip and truly appreciated the exceptional service. We’ll definitely be booking with 5 Star Marine again for our next island tours. Highly recommended!

Staying at coconut island Family of four adults, private boat tour to the khai islands. Picked up and dropped back at the island. Staff were fab, and couldn’t do enough for you. Snorkelling opportunities. Food and jet skis on the islands for those who wish to indulge. Trip to floating restaurant’s was offered for food after the trip. Refreshments and fresh fruit offered throughout. Great day all around. Slightly out of season staff were really helpful with my enquiries re weather.

If you are thinking of booking with 5 Star Marine do not hesitate. We booked a private tour to the Khai Islands for 11 of us for my husbands 50th. The day was magical! They thought of everything to comms before the trip, taking photos of the group throughout the day. They even surprised my husband with a cake and a gift which was a really lovely touch. Having our own private boat meant we could be flexible with our day. They picked us up from our hotel at 6.30am. I was apprehensive about the early get up but it was absolutely worth it the first island we had to ourselves for around an hour! We then went snorkelling and then onto a further island for the afternoon. We had catering provided on the day of Massaman curry and Chicken and cashew nuts. It was delicious 10/10! Everyone who came on the trip couldn't believe how well organised it was the crew were exemplary and so kind. Thank you so much for creating such an unforgettable birthday for my husband!

We really enjoyed our tour with 5 star marine. Our guide named Sun was very kind. Khai Island is beautiful! It is only a 30 minute speedboat ride. The boat is beautiful, clean, you get some fresh fruits and drinks and the boat ride went smoothly. From pick up until drop off it was all perfect. We will be booking again!

We had an amazing experience with 5 Star Marine. All queries were answered very promptly and communication was superb. We requested to see the sunrise and they were willing to fulfil our request. We were fetched very punctually from the hotel. Our guide Kris explained the planned journey before we set off, and no time was wasted for us not to miss the sunrise. The sunrise was exceptionally beautiful especially when we were the only ones on the island that early morning. As we are not confident swimmers, Kris went above and beyond to guide us to show us the corals and beautiful fishes at one of the islands. We are also truly thankful for Kris and the team who made us feel comfortable and took good care of us from the start until the end of the tour. And not forgetting how clean, spacious and comfortable the speedboat is too. Truly worth the extra cost for this private trip. Thank you 5 Star Marine!

We had the best day with our lovely guide Ning! She is the sweetest, kindest girl and was so helpful with anything we needed. The Captains were equally as wonderful and even took our little boy out snorkelling. It was a very special day for our family and we couldn’t fault one thing! The boat was pristine, guide was gorgeous, captains wonderful and the khai islands were amazing. We also had lunch at the fisherman’s village which was the best food ever! Our family of 6 loved our day out. The tour included stopping at 2 islands plus snorkelling off another. We had an amazing seafood lunch on a floating restaurant, and soft drinks and fruit on board the boat. Thank you to Nicky and his crew for a truly amazing day

Wow what a company! Saun and Sunwa are the most amazing communicators pre boat day out. I was back and forth changing things and not one time was I made to feel like a nuisance! On the day of pickup our boat arrived at the pier of the hotel we were staying at (Santhiya Koh Yao Yai) early so we could depart as soon as WE were ready. Chris and the crew were awesome and happily accommodated changes to the itinerary so we could lunch at a beach bar instead of the floating Island (highly recommend the beach bar great food and atmosphere!) We swam in deserted cave with no one else, got to the kayaking spot before the hordes and even to James Bond island before the big boats arrived. We just kept ahead of everyone all day! The snorkelling was a little blurry given the rainy season but we still had fun and saw some black tip reef sharks. We also stopped to chat the the jelly fisherman which was so cool to see them catching the giant jelly fish! At the end bed of the day we fed the remaining tropical fruits to the monkeys then had a bus ride into Patong to shop before them driving us back to the hotel. An amazing day just book with 5 Star Marine, the name says it all!!

I didn't have a chance to do my research on things to do in Phuket before coming on vacation, but a friend that lives locally recommended going to Khai Island since it's not too crowded and is a short boat ride from the mainland. I was going to initially book the tour with the hotel but found 5 Star Marine from Tripadvisor. With the many highly rated reviews, I did a private booking tour to the islands. I'm so glad I did. I opted to not have them pick us up at the hotel since we had a rental car and it would be easier to get around ourselves. Getting to the marina and parking is super easy. The boat we were on is very clean and modern. They had all the equipment available for us to use. We visited the two Khai islands, Rang Yai island, and the floating raft restaurant. We also did snorkeling in several locations. I went with my older parents and they even helped my dad get into the ocean waters to have him float around on a large floatation device. Several times the crew also prepared delicious fruit snacks for us and they also had cold water and soda. Captain Kong gave us a terrific tour narration and answered all of our questions. Kong and his crew are really the best. The price paid was extremely good since you cannot get anything like the experience and service like this in the US. Will happily book them again for future tours when I come back to Phuket. Thank you 5 Star Marine for a terrific time!

Well equipped, clean boat, knowledgeable and friendly staff (thanks especially to K. Dream), overall a great day out and a manageable length of trip to introduce my son to snorkelling for the first time. Kids loved spotting all the fish! We plan to book another trip with them next time we are back!

It was the best decision ever to engage 5 Star Marine private charter. Travelling with 4 kids and a toddler, wanted to make sure that it would be enjoyable yet flexible. Excellent! Our family loved the boat trip. Recommended for families with small children too. Our 2 year old son had a great time. It was raining on the area we were supposed to visit, so we were taking to a different area, beautiful and sunny. Loved the experience, the crew members were superb friendly and professional.

Our family of 12 booked a private tour to Khai Islands ... and we had a blast! The 5 Star Marine team was great. They were hospitable and took care of us through the day. We were welcomed with drinks and refreshments. Sunny, our guide, gave us a short info of the background into the islands and surrounding areas before we headed to Khai Islands. The weather was a bit cloudy with passing showers, but we were lucky to get some sun when we reached the islands. We had a great time snorkelling and swimming in the clear white sandy beaches (PS ... do watch out for the corals in the water while swimming). The team waited patiently for us till we are done. After our activities, we requested to have lunch somewhere nice. The brought us to a floating restaurant ... Kruvit Raft. The food there was fantastic and tasty. Tom Yum, Fish in sweet sour sauce, Mango Salad and more ... so much more. We ate till we nearly burst. The team then brought us back safely. Thank you 5 Star Marine. That was our best day in Phuket.

I booked a private tour- just for myself for 4 hours. I was collected at 6am from my hotel and taken to the marina. I had a fabulous welcome from Jimmy and the crew. Upon arrival drinks and refreshments were available. The boat was perfect - we headed to Kai Islands where I was able to snorkel with Jimmy. I can go on about the beautiful scenery, the amazing fish etc but what made this trip for me was Jimmy and the crew- so friendly, kind and hospitable and I was totally at ease on my own. I booked this all over Whatsapp which was really really easy. Would really recommend 5 Star Marine- top company who have it all sorted.

Amazing day out with 5 Star Marine!!!! Everything was well prepared in advance: Shaun and the team were extremely responsive to all questions before the trip on both email as well as WhatsApp, specific directions to the port were provided, and even a brief article about what to prepare, bring and expect was shared. On the day of the trip, pre-departure beverages and snacks were available and our captain Ronnie communicated all procedures in detail. The whole team were very helpful throughout the day, listened to all of our requests, and knew the waters and tides like the back of their hands. A storm hit Phuket and we managed to avoid it for the entire boat trip and then they professionally navigated it to get all of us back safely. All the children and adults could not be more happy with the day. 5-star Marine even took the initiative to provide a surprise birthday cake and donuts to celebrate one of our family members - how thoughtful!!!!! We took advantage of 5 Star Marine's COVID specials and ended up going on 2 separate trips on our recent trip to Phuket. Both trips, we had Jimmy as our guide and Nut as our captain. They were both excellent in looking after us and getting us safely there and back. Very professional operation with excellent customer service. Highly recommended.

The host on board, captain and crew are simply the best. Informative host but never intrusive if you just want to kick back and relax at any stage. We had a great time exploring the Khai Islands with Alex. He was very efficient and went above and beyond to make sure everyone was happy. While snorkeling, he was sure to help our son see as much of the reef as possible. The beaches are amazing, and the water is crystal clear. We would definitely recommend 5 Star Marine to anyone visiting Phuket!

Traveling with a toddler and little kids, I really hesitated to put them on a boat all day. Five Star Marine was the perfect choice for our family. Safety was the biggest priority in everything from driving the boat, to checking the kids life jackets before they got in the water, to telling us where it was safe to swim and where it wasn't. My mind was completely at ease. Guide Pei even put himself on jellyfish watch after we saw one large one float by and my kids hestitated to continue snorkeling. Comfort was also a big priority. The boat was amazingly smooth and it was so convenient having a bathroom and a hose to rinse sandy feet on board. We had lunch catered and all loved our food. The boat was so comfortable that two kids even napped on board. Guide Pei and the crew brought us to all of the perfect spots at the perfect times, including finding shady snorkeling when the sun was at its peak. We couldn't be happier with our decision to hire Five Star Marine for the day!

The boat was great, the staff were amazing, and the three islands we visited were gorgeous. Have spent a lot of time in Thailand and done a lot of boat trips, both private and tours. This was by far one of the easiest and most enjoyable. Strongly recommend. Will be back again.

The 3rd boat trip with 5 Star Marine! Always as easy to book and get tips and advice. And they are so responsive! Especially with our grandchildren and adults who are not so happy about seasickness. It is possible to change tours just before departure and as a result we left Khai Nau and got more time on the other islands. The guides are skilled and you will be well taken care of both in the harbor and during and after the trip. See you again!
