John Gray’s Legendary Cave Canoeing Adventure – Phang Nga Bay

This tour is a full day of great service, beautiful scenery, lots and lots of delicious food and all the staff are amazing. Highly recommend.

OMG....just book this. What an incredible day! We came to Phuket to visit Phang Nga Bay and it did not disappoint. But this tour allowed us to sit back and enjoy. They provided air conditioned transport to and from our hotel, our own guide for the sea canoe excursions, a great lunch and dinner buffet as well as snacks and water. The best part was our guide, Tang. He took us through caves and showed us local wildlife. At night, he found a little nook and jumped in the water to show us the bioluminescent plankton. Truly beautiful. I really cannot say enough about this tour. It's a long day (about 10 hours) but worth every moment!

Fascinating scenery, landscapes and pure lovely nature. A truly must do if u are in Phuket people are also very welcoming. Even the fact that u relax in the kayak and not doing any work actually was a nice surprise. U just eat and enjoy the scenery all day long

Almost a perfect day. Lunch on boat before reaching kayaking spots which took the whole afternoon. Engaging guide and breathtaking scenery reached by kayaking thru caves. Good dinner back on boat and then sunset/night time activities. A highlight of our trip!

Absolutely superbly organised. It may cost a little but is actually superb value. Collection from hotel, friendliest staff, genuinely lovely food and atmosphere and a total experience not just a boat trip. This company was the first to offer canoeing . They are so professional and one feels it is safe and well managed. Best excursion I can think of in Phuket

The service was immaculate, they helped with everything so I didn’t feel like I was lost. The whole trip was a fun experience and I recommend that everyone who is thinking of trying it to try it. I will be going again this holiday if I have the chance.

Gorgeous scenery, friendly staff and guides, and fantastic abundant food. Smaller group with plenty of space on the boat so you could relax and not feel packed in. Was more personal experience this way. The guide takes you through the caves into beautiful lagoons. Stunning! We saw monkeys too. Flower ceremony at the end is magical. Don’t miss this tour!

I would recommend this tour to anyone. Instead of island hopping for a day like most other tours, with this tour you only go to 2 islands. The time you spend at these two islands are high quality, longer in duration, informative and fun. This tour was also flexible with it's timings, rather than having to stick to a rigid schedule. We arrived a bit too early to enter the caves, so we hung around and did a different activity while we waited. The time we spent in the caves was not impacted negatively for this additional activity. The lunch and dinner provided was excellent. A huge variety to choose from, none of it was spicy and there was a pot of chillies provided for the more adventurous amongst us. A special thanks to Zack who answered our many questions on the local wildlife, vegetation and rock types and formations. The bioluminescence at the end of the day was a great finale, like swimming among the stars.

We had a great time on the Canoeing Tour in Phang Nga Bay! Everything was well run, the boat very clean and the food delicious! The tour guides were friendly, knowledgeable and I really appreciated the fact that the we had the same guide for the two of us throughout the entire trip. Also really liked the fact that they tried to minimise the environmental impact by using recycled glass bottles and all washable utensils.

Very friendly staff. They took very good care of us. Explained each site well with good geological knowledge . Even though my day had some rain, it didn’t affect the overall tour experience at all. Highly recommended.

The tour was brilliant. If there is one thing you do in Phuket, it should be this. The lagoons were magical pieces of untouched scenery, with brilliant access to the wildlife including: birds, bats, fish, lizards and crabs. Travelling through the caves was relaxing and easy, being paddled along by a personal guide. Each boat of two people has their own guide, providing a really personalised and intimate experience. All of the guides and staff are incredibly friendly and positive, making sure that the day goes as well as possible for all involved. The vibe of the trip was completely positive, with them proud to show off the local nature. The food provided on the boat was incredibly tasty, having an ample lunch, dinner and snacks provided. With unlimited water as well, you were always catered for. The main boat, from which the canoes are launched at the various nature spots, have a covered floor and therefore you don’t get battered by the elements. All in all, incredibly beautiful, incredibly fun and incredibly well organised.

This day trip was an absolute highlight for us. It was incredible. The trip starts with a private car picking you up from your hotel, dropping you at a souvenir shop by the dock. Once everyone arrived we were split into 2 groups (40 in each) and driven to the boat. The boats were spacious and nice. We were given a run down on what we were to expect from the day by a fantastic, funny host. John Gray was on our boat, apparently he goes out most days. We were given a delicious lunch on the way to our first destination then given our own canoe ‘host’ (for lack of a better word). The hosts / staff were all very warm, kind, funny and a lot of fun. We just got to sit back and relax. Going through the caves and lagoons was breathtaking. Swimming in the water was gorgeous and the games we played were a blast. We felt like kids again. Dinner was also provided (so fresh, plentiful and delicious). We made the most beautiful floral arrangements and floated them in a cave. Everything about the trip was excellent. Wonderful for all ages (although I wouldn’t want to bring a toddler!). Thankyou so much John Gray for this absolute highlight of our trip.

John Gray has done an amazing job organizing tours in Phang Nga Bay. The guides are very helpful, and will take care of you as you explore caves, and lagoons. They take great care to be environmentally secure, actually picking up plastic bottles, and any floating debris as you progress through these amazing over-hangs, and caves. Truly a beautiful experienced, topped off with a moving Loi Krathong ceremony. Warning: If you are claustrophobic, you may experience discomfort when forging through some of the tight openings to the caves/lagoons, but just close your eyes and let the guides to the work ;)

My family and I loved our time with John Gray’s crew. Their organisation and helpfulness was second to none and the food was some of the best we had during our Thailand stay. Worth every penny, can not recommend enough.

Everyone was amazing! Lots of things to do and plenty to eat. Love the thankful ceremony at the end- felt very spiritual. On the flip side- I would have bought some warm clothes to change into had I known it would be dark before we returned.

Went with my partner and children 9, 11, 13. This was a fantastic trip, so well ran from start to finish. Hotel transfers were on time and efficient, time at the pier was well organised with good information about what was happening. The three kids went with one guide and my partner and I with a second guide. The guide with the kid (Mozar?) worked so hard to keep them entertained, happy and informed it was absolutely amazing. Our guide didn't speak much, but the kids' guide more than made up for that. I would definitely recommend this trip to everyone wanting to explore natural scenery around Phuket.

This whole experience is amazing! From the information, what we were shown, the food and our personal canoe paddler - it’s worth every penny. If you’re looking for a good day trip out exploring and seeing some breathtaking lagoons, this is it!

We made up our mind last minute trading Phi Phi with this trip as we heard it's not crowded and we really dont't like crowds. Inspired decision. The trip was excellent. You can easily say they've been doing this for 30 years. Clockwork timing and organizing, they know what they're doing, tasty thai food and especially gorgeous scenery and the canoeing itself. We were lucky to have a cooling rain at the sunset when visiting the last cave and the atmosphere and view by the island were fantastic. Highly recommended.

Une journée exceptionnelle. Tout est très bien organisé. Toute l’équipe est très attentive à la sécurité et au bien être de chacun. Les repas sont vraiment vraiment delicieux et les endroits visités sont magiques, très fréquentés malheureusement mais très beaux. Aucune fausse note.

It was an unforgettable experience. We were 21 people on a bigger boat. Each person (group) had a personal guide who drove us around by kayak. Were in the Bat and the Oyster Cave. The buffet on the ship was adequate and delicious. Together with the guide we made a flower arrangement, which we let out on the water at dusk in Bat Cave and had a wish free. This is what Thais usually do on the Loy Krathong holiday in November. The whole day was worth the money! Gladly again

Beste Tour!!! Die Crew ist super, herzlichen Dank für all eure Späße. Die Abholung war sehr pünktlich und der Fahrer perfekt. Essen an Bord war super lecker. Aber das allerbeste war natürlich die Tour selbst. Einfach traumhaft dieses wunderschöne Fleckchen Erde. Mit den Kanus durch diese teilweise sehr engen Eingänge gepaddelt zu werden und das bei dieser Stille, wunderschön, wie in einer anderen Welt. Beim baden in der Bucht hatten wir sehr viel Spaß, danke dafür. Ein Highlight war auch das basteln einer Hinduwunschlampe, die bei Einsetzen der Dunkelheit in einer weiteren Höhle angezündet und ins Wasser gelassen wird. Herzlichen Dank an John Gray, dem dies alles zu verdanken ist. Wir wünschen ihm und seiner Crew viel Gesundheit und macht weiter so. Danke Paul und Gerda
