We did the James Bond Island tour yesterday with 5 Star Marine, and tour guide Jessica and the crew were simply amazing! From start to finish, they went above and beyond to cater to our family's wishes. They intuitively knew how to give us the best possible experience, and both the captain and the other crew member were so sweet, constantly playing and interacting with our youngest daughter so we (as parents) could enjoy the moments and capture great memories. ​Great attention was also paid to our other three children. There was so much humor, warmth, and great energy on the boat. They truly tailored the trip to what suited our family best. When we asked for some extra snorkeling, they made it happen—and wow, what beautiful fish we saw! We got to admire stunning locations, and we are so grateful as a family. ​The crew genuinely cared about our happiness and made sure this felt like our experience. We had the private James Bond tour. Early pick up was suggested to avoid crowds and that was a fantastic suggestion. Our guide Chris was fantastic, active, responsible and always ready to help out. Perfect and funny guide. Captain and crew always ready to help. The tour was well organized so we were everywhere without other tourist. Food recommendation at floating village is a must do. One of the best experiences we had in Phuket! We booked a private tour with 5 Star Marine and spent the day exploring Phang Nga Bay, Koh Panak, James Bond Island, Koh Panyee and Koh Hong in Krabi. Everything was extremely well organized from the moment we arrived at Phuket Boat Lagoon. Our guide Noon was fantastic throughout the day, taking care of everything and giving us the flexibility to enjoy each stop without feeling rushed. Being able to customize the itinerary was a huge plus, and adding Koh Hong in Krabi was definitely worth it. It ended up being our favorite stop of the day. The boat was comfortable, the crew were friendly and professional, and the whole experience felt very personal. It was a long day, but easily one of the most memorable days of our Thailand trip. Definitely worth it, especially if you want to experience Phang Nga Bay at your own pace. Highly recommended!

We booked a private tour for my son’s 12th birthday and it was the best day ever. The team was amazing and looked after us so well. They knew the best places to visit and even added an additional stop at my son’s request. I really couldn’t recommend them enough. The boats are amazing and also you feel very safe with the team - we had a tour guide, the captain and his deckhand.

Had a fabulous day, Jessica knew how to avoid the crowds and arranged the stops accordingly. We could choose how long to spend at each location and she worked with our timetable of wanting to be back at the dock at a certain time. Lunch was fantastic at an authentic Thai restaurant and there was delicious fresh fruit on board as well as drinks. The captain was very competent, we felt safe at all times and would definitely recommend this company and hope to go out with them again.

We had an incredible experience with 5 Star Marine in Thailand! We loved our Phi Phi Islands tour so much that we booked a second trip the following week to James Bond Island. Our guide, Alex, was absolutely outstanding—his knowledge of the area, including his experience working on films shot there, made the tours so interesting. He even took us to a beautiful hidden bay that felt completely untouched and was truly magical. Alex, along with the captain and crew, made us feel so welcome and looked after us all day. We couldn't recommend 5 Star Marine highly enough and would definitely book with them again!

Amazing day out with Alex and his crew. It was a memorable experience right from the start of the day, the greeting provided by Alex and the options shared for how we could approach the day were excellent. He gave us great advice and guidance but left it with us to decide the structure of the day based on our preference. Some of the places we visited (in addition to James Bond island) were simply spectacular. We experienced canoe through mangroves and caves, swimming in lagoons, exploring caves by foot, swimming at secluded beaches and bays and a delicious lunch. It was an action packed day and a real highlight of our holiday. I couldn’t recommend 5 Star Marine highly enough!

Amazing experience with our family on the private boat tour to Phang Gna. Our guide Yaya was fun, knowledgeable and so accommodating. We stoped for snorkeling - an add-on because it was a private tour I think. Then to beautiful stops at James Bond island, canoeing in caves, a short hike inside a sea cave, stilt village and swimming off a private island. The boat had all the snorkel gear, tons of water and soda, and they cut fresh fruit part way through the day. They even had small breakfast before we left the dock. She told us to leave early to miss the crowds and it wasn’t busy at any of the stops (we also came during the rainy season but happened to have beautiful weather) So well organized, clean, and fun. We came with our family which includes kids ages 10-20 and we all enjoyed the amazing day. We did see other traditional boats going to the same stops we did, but we were glad to be on the speed boat - more comfortable, lots of shade, and we could get from stop to stop faster. Great day, great guide, great experience with the company.

The boat tour was great. The crew was great and Alex, the tour guide made the experience memorable. The ride itself was pretty much smooth an s enjoyable.

We’re a family of 5 and we had the best time. They picked us up from the hotel, we went on a speed boat and we did several activities: we walked in the national park, we went on a kayak, we walked in a cave at low tide, we went to the beach, visited a small town and the kids loved it when the boat was speeding up. The best thing is that we weren’t surrounded by crowds and had the most perfect day. The team is so caring, they picked us up easily and always took care of my kids going up and down the boat. They even cut us some fresh fruit in the end. If you have the budget for it and you’re a family, this is défini worth it.

This was truly a delightful day well spent. Everything from the morning pick up, to the various islands, canoeing, caves and beaches were very well paced and we can’t thank our guide enough (Sexy Billy and the crew). We had a truly fantastic and super memorable day out visiting the James Bond island (amongst others) with my fiancé and parents. The tour guide, Beer, was amazing, he couldn't have been more helpful (particularly with helping my parents who are in their 70s), and the entire crew were fantastic (going the extra-mile at every opportunity). I would highly recommend 5 Star Marine if you're looking for a private experience with genuinely wonderful hosts. We had an absolutely fabulous excursion!!! We were two couples in our 60s and the crew could not have provided a more amazing experience. We were extremely well cared for, and the crew was so mindful of our physical limitations. They offered us great choices and honestly, I can't put into words how wonderful our day with them was. They were delightful to be around. A beautiful fresh fruit platter was elegantly arranged. The office excelled at prompt communications. Our private van pick up from the cruise ship went perfectly and drop off as well. They are extremely mindful of cruise ship departure times. In fact, we saw the tour group from our cruise ship at the pier also using 5 Star Marine, but getting on a boat with 30 other people. Our tour was private and cost less as well! Everyone on the group tour was jealous :)

5 Star Marine already has so many excellent reviews on TripAdvisor, but I'm happy to add another! From the initial planning stages to my last minute questions in the days leading up to the tour, to the day of the trip, 5 Star Marine provided a great service. It felt like money well-spent, to have the private tour to James Bond island. Many times, when you visit famous destinations, the experience can be a bit of a let down due to crowds, but that was not the case with this experience. This was absolutely the way to go!! James Bond island itself was indeed busy, and the 5 Star crew let us take a look and decide what to do, and we opted to stop at the island, anyways. We were so happy with that decision, and they made it as easy as possible for us to navigate. One note about footwear: it might be smart to wear or bring sandals that you don't mind getting wet, to protect your feet because of the broken shells at James Bond island. We were alerted prior to our trip to expect a bumpy ride for parts of our tour. It was bumpy, but manageable, and we didn't have issues with seasickness. We felt very safe in the hands of the capable crew, who were always looking out for our safety and comfort. For the inflatable canoe portion, it was very much a surprise to us that we didn't have to actually do any paddling! Such a cool experience, and the crew made everything so easy for us, getting in and out of the canoe, etc. I was shocked at how easy everything was to manage. We had waterproof phone holders to use for the canoe portion, which were handy but perhaps not totally necessary. We had some Thai baht cash with us, which was helpful to tip the paddle man. The cooling towels provided during the trip were very much appreciated, as were the drinks and fruit. Also, to our surprise, we found that we had cell coverage for the duration of the tour. Although we didn't need to use the toilet on board the boat, but were thankful to have it close by. The restaurant we stopped at was unique and delicious - so pleased with that! Huge shout out to Spicy, our guide, for being so fun and fabulous and for taking great photos of us!

We took a 4 hour private boat trip up to James Bond Island. What an amazing area. We were taken to a secluded beach to swim, lunch at a local restaurant, a floating soccer field, a magical hidden mangrove cave. So much to see, and our tour guides were absolutely lovely. Thank you!

Great tour! We were on one of the new small speed boats which was perfect for the two of us. The crew were amazing especially Tony our guide, the communication from first enquiring to the day of your was outstanding and really appreciated. We avoided crowds everywhere we went which after doing ‘group’ island hopping tours before, was exactly why we decided to give the private tour a go, and so glad we did!

Absolutely fantastic trip....cannot recommend this company & their staff highly enough. Upon their advice we were picked up at our Hotel at 6.30am for a transfer to marina in a luxury minibus. (Fyi....we were dropped back off at our Hotel by about 4pm) We had a private speedboat tour booked for 8 family & friends. We were warmly greeted by our brilliant host Spicy (more on him later!) We were given various options for a light breakfast & cold bottles of water. Our itinerary for the day was various island stops involving canoeing, canyoning, visit to James Bond Island, lunch on a floating village and a couple of hours with fruit & drinks on a private island Palm Beach. Would recommend this early morning start as you undoubtedly avoid the crowds & get a more private experience, i e we were the only tourists on the private beach. Now what can we say about Spicy?! He was the most perfect, funny, outrageous host we could have asked for and I would defo specifically ask for him if doing again. He was really informative & funny at the same time but also allowing plenty of private time on our own at various points. He genuinely has a love for his job and goes out of his way to make sure everyone is enjoying & having a great time. He would regulary ask if everything was ok in a caring way. Overall, if you are reading this because you're thinking of booking i will tell you 100% do it. We're fussy travellers who expect the best & we weren't disappointed and brilliant value for money. This tour exceeded all of my expectations. Collected from the hotel in great vehicle, quick transfer to the boat lagoon and a fantastic welcome, with coffee, juice and light breakfast snacks. After a quick briefing, we were on the water and heading out. The boat was excellent, clean and comfortable and the on board crew amazing. Spicy, was out tour leader. Flamboyant, very friendly and extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. Exploring caves, canoeing through lagoon and of course visiting James Bond island. Then a stop for lunch before enjoying time at an isolated beach. All in all a brilliant way to spend the day. Highly, highly recommended.

Wow! What an amazing experience! We loved our guide Beer. He made sure our party of 14 (ages 17 to 84) are comfortable! We loved seeing the beautiful islands, kayaking through the caves, and visiting the floating village. They did everything right from pick up to customizing the itinerary based on our needs.

Fantastic experience with Moomoo and his crew! We had a private tour right after Xmas. He and the team were friendly and hospitable, and kept us comfortable throughout the trip. Moomoo also knew all the best places to take photos, which we will treasure. The boat itself was pristine, up to date, fast (as advertised), and surprisingly quiet when seated in the front. When I began researching private boat companies from the UK several months ago, I quickly came across Five Star Marine. From my very first enquiry, their communication was prompt, organised and reassuring — something that immediately builds confidence when you’re trusting a company to take you out to sea. Based on that alone, we decided to book two excursions: a full-day trip to the Phi Phi Islands and an evening experience to James Bond Island with the hope of seeing bioluminescence. From booking onwards, everything felt secure, clear and well organised. I contacted the team a couple of times with general questions about Thailand and they were always kind, supportive and helpful — going well beyond what was strictly necessary. In the week leading up to our trips, communication was excellent, with clear check-ins and all the information we needed. On the morning of our first trip, I had to message to explain that my husband had unfortunately come down with flu and there would be three of us instead of four. I fully expected that this would simply be something we’d have to accept, but instead they immediately offered an alternative date, reassured us it was no problem at all, and were happy to wait until he was well. As a result, we were able to enjoy our James Bond Island trip together as a family on Christmas Day — an experience we will never forget. We had two different boat crews across the two trips, with the same wonderful guide, Kiki, both days. The boats were spotless, extremely well maintained, and we felt completely safe, comfortable and genuinely cared for throughout. Safety is especially important for us as we travel with our neurodiverse sons, and the level of calm, professionalism and attentiveness from the crew meant everything felt easy and relaxed. Every detail was thought through — fresh fruit and drinks on board, help with shoes, cleaning shoes afterwards, cleaning snorkelling equipment, and constant quiet checks to make sure we were comfortable. We even enjoyed dinner on Christmas Day at a floating village, with the most delicious home-cooked Thai food — a truly special experience. We have been completely blown away by Five Star Marine. They are a superb company and we would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a safe, reliable, high-quality private tour experience in Phuket. We’re already planning a return trip in December 2026 — and the only decision left is which Five Star Marine experience to book next.

Awesome boat trip to see James Bond island, walk through a cave, see wild Monkey’s, visit a floating Thai village and lunch / beach on different islands. Multiple cool excursions throughout the day and the boat was great and powered right through any waves. Have done multiple private boat experiences in the Med as well, and the value here is excellent for the quality of the boat and tour.

The entire experience, from booking to the trip itself, was seamless. They responded quickly to my inquiry, clearly understood my requirements, and curated the entire plan over WhatsApp with ease. All trip-related information was managed through a dedicated WhatsApp group, which made coordination effortless. We had the best experience during our private tour. Was worried initially as we were travelling with young kids and a baby but Jessica was really experienced and accommodating. She customised the tour to meet our family’s needs. She was also really good with the kids and baby which was really helpful, allowing us to enjoy the tour even more! Also a special shout out to the crew bringing us around where Jurassic World was filmed knowing that the kids are fans! Would definitely recommend families with young kids to go for the tours with 5 Star Marine!! We’ll surely be back too!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We did a private island-hopping tour with 5 Star Marine, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. Pickup was right on time, in fact it was 1hour early than stated time and the driver waited for us patiently without complaints but with a wide smile on his face, and everything felt easy and well organized. When we arrived at the pier, the crew welcomed us and went through the plan for the day. The boat was clean and comfortable, with plenty of space and shade, which made the ride really enjoyable. Our guide, Anwar, was fantastic. He was friendly, easygoing, and very knowledgeable. He explained each stop, pointed out marine life while snorkeling, and always made sure everyone felt safe and comfortable. You could tell he genuinely cared about giving us a great experience, not just rushing through the itinerary. The islands were beautiful, and the schedule felt just right — enough time to explore, snorkel, swim, and relax without feeling rushed. And to end the day with a cave adventure via canoe/kayak. The snorkeling spot had just about clear water and lots of fish, and the beach stop was perfect for relaxing. Just us, our family alone with no others. Felt so peaceful and serene. Lunch was freshly prepared local food, simple but delicious, with cold drinks and ice cream to cool off. On a side note, weather was perfect. No sunny sun most of the time. Canoe adventure was a great experience for the kids. They enjoyed it so much. The crew was helpful the entire day, assisting us on and off the boat and taking care of all the details so we could just enjoy ourselves. Everything ran smoothly, and the whole trip felt very relaxed and private. Overall, I would absolutely recommend 5 Star Marine if you’re looking for a private island-hopping tour. It was well worth it, and having a great guide like Anwar made the day even better.

I have visited Thailand many times over the past 30 years, this was the best trip we have ever been on. We wanted something special away from the crowds with friends and family for my birthday. From initial enquiry to the end of the excursion was absolutely faultless. Communication with the team was fabulous from start to finish.. on the day, on the day we were incredibly well looked after, The crew were all so sweet and kind. Gave us some great tips and history and kept us all entertained. They are also very good at taking photos so the kids loved that! 🤣 Having the flexibility to go where we wanted was worth every penny. Top experience! Amazing service and boat. Our guide, Bear, was incredibly kind to all of us, always making sure we were happy and safe. He took us to the most beautiful spots and helped us avoid the crowds. He was also very thoughtful, constantly offering to take photos of us. Furthermore, Unfortunately, my mum got injured by a sea urchin while snorkeling, and he was extremely caring. He took us to the hospital to make sure everything was okay, and he even contacted our next hotel to arrange for them to pick us up from the place where the boat would drop us off.
