Be sure to bring a swimsuit - wear flipflops, shorts, casual clothes so it's easy to change back and forth for swimming. The islands are beautiful, our guide on the "big boat" (Cha/Non) was friendly and funny, delicious lunch on the ship too. The small (canoe) boats were a bit small for an old fat man (me) but still enjoyable.

Itinerary
Start your Phang Nga Bay journey at Ao Po Pier on Phuket’s northeast coast. After hotel pickup, meet your guide, complete check-in, receive a safety briefing and board the selected boat option. This pier is the starting point for both the speedboat and big boat programs. Travelers can settle in, prepare cameras and enjoy the first views before cruising toward Phang Nga Bay’s limestone islands, sea caves and emerald waters. Soft drinks and refreshments may be served on board according to the selected package. Timing may change depending on pickup route, pier traffic, tide and sea conditions.
Cruise through Phang Nga Bay, one of southern Thailand’s most scenic marine landscapes, known for emerald water, mangrove areas and dramatic limestone cliffs rising from the sea. This part of the journey gives travelers wide panoramic views before the canoeing and island stops begin. The speedboat option offers a faster island-hopping experience, while the big boat option gives a more relaxed cruise with time to enjoy the scenery from the deck. The route and photo stops may be adjusted by the guide and captain depending on tide, sea level and weather conditions.
Explore the natural beauty of Ko Panak, a famous Phang Nga Bay island known for sea caves, limestone formations and hidden lagoon scenery. Depending on the tide, travelers may enjoy guided canoeing through cave areas such as Bat Cave, Mangrove Cave, Mut Cave or Hoy Tib Cave. In the speedboat option, extra cave sightseeing may include Ice Cream Cave and Diamond Cave when conditions allow. A local canoe paddler helps guests move safely through narrow cave entrances, giving close-up views of rock formations, mangrove life and the peaceful cave-like “hong” atmosphere.
Enjoy guided canoeing around Ko Hong in Phang Nga Bay, a highlight for travelers who want to experience the area’s cave-like rooms, calm emerald water and towering limestone walls from close range. Guests sit in a canoe handled by a local oarsman while the guide explains the scenery and safe route through the island’s sheltered channels. The stop is ideal for photography, nature views and a quiet break from the main boat. Canoeing time is usually around 30 minutes, but the exact route depends on tide, sea level, wind and local safety conditions.
Visit Ko Panyi, the well-known floating sea village in Phang Nga Bay, if included in the selected speedboat option. Travelers can enjoy lunch at the village, see houses and walkways built over the water, and observe the local fishing-community atmosphere surrounded by limestone cliffs. For the big boat option, lunch is normally served on board instead of stopping here, so this stop should be treated as speedboat-option only. The guide will advise the exact lunch arrangement on the travel date based on the selected package, timing, tide and operating conditions.
Pass by or stop near Khao Khian, a limestone cliff area in Phang Nga Bay known for ancient rock drawings. Travelers can view the markings from the boat or nearby viewing point while the guide explains the importance of the site and the surrounding mangrove landscape. This is a short cultural and photo stop that adds history to the natural sightseeing route. Access and viewing distance can vary depending on tide, sea level and boat traffic, so the captain may adjust the approach for safety while still giving guests time to see the paintings.
Visit Khao Phing Kan and view Ko Tapu, the iconic limestone rock popularly known as James Bond Island after its appearance in The Man with the Golden Gun. Travelers can walk around the scenic island area, take photos of the famous rock formation, enjoy the dramatic cliffs and browse small local stalls if available. This is one of the main highlights of the tour. National Park Fee is not included in the tour price and must be paid directly if required by the park or local operator. Visit time may change depending on crowds, tide and weather.
Relax at Naka Island if the speedboat option is selected. This beach stop gives travelers free time to swim, rest on the sand, take photos or simply enjoy the tropical scenery after the sightseeing and canoeing program. It is a good final island break before returning toward Ao Po Pier and the hotel transfer. Guests should bring swimwear, towel, sunscreen, sunglasses and a dry bag for personal items. The beach stop may be changed, shortened or replaced by the guide and captain depending on tide, sea conditions, weather and marine safety rules.
Relax and swim at Kaya Island if the big boat option is selected. This stop is planned as the beach and swimming break after the main Phang Nga Bay sightseeing, canoeing and James Bond Island visit. Travelers can enjoy calm water, beach scenery and free time before returning to Ao Po Pier. The guide and captain will confirm whether swimming is suitable on the day, as the final beach stop depends on tide, wind, weather and sea conditions. Guests should bring swimwear, towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, camera and a small amount of cash for personal expenses.

Beautiful! Amazing! Everyone was so kind, personable. Great food!!! Beautiful country, canoe rides, caves unforgettable!
Nicely paced, kind staff, great value for the price. The meal was very delicious and they kept us hydrated.
The experience was good , the canoeing around the little island was lovely . It was a bit long to get there . The toilet did smell quite a bit on the boat (ended up being blocked) . Food was left open well before we were eating it . But the experience were good
Enjoyed the activity. The best part was the delicious lunch buffet. The guide, Bob, was a funny guy.
We booked this trip with viator and from start to end the staff onboard were amazing. James was an excellent host and made sure everyone had a great time. He even entertained us with some dancing on our way back. I don't swim and didn't do kayaking in the caves which I now totally regret as there is someone kayaking for you and kayak boat is bigger than a normal one. When I seen people's pics I regretted not doing it.
This wa she best tour our tour guide name was jimmy who gave that fun filled laughter an his team to asssist guest . They treated us like family we love that enjoyment. I would recommend doing that tour . So many great views and good lunch buffet . Come to Thailand
James the tour guide was exceptional i loved how he explained everything and checked that everybody was ok
All are good. Accomodations, food, even transportation from and to hotel. Guide was also good, name is james as he said so. Very reccomend to do a travel with him as a guide.
A fantastic day all around. This was a truly memorable experience with BJ Canoeing. If you had one day for a boat trip from Phuket, this would be the one to do! We did the speed boat option for the James Bond and Canoeing trip, with the tour run with absolute professionalism from start to finish. Every stop was incredible, with interactive experiences exploring sea caves, hidden mangrove grotto’s and canoeing through stunning tropical islands. Shout out to the crew and Ibrahim for the great info, humour and pacing throughout the day, thank you for a wonderful day.
Great way to see a variety of islands all in one trip! I opted for the big boat. I appreciate that transportation to and from my hotel was included. The guide was great. All the islands we visited were stunning. The canoeing in the caves and islands was very exciting. The food served on board was incredible and I appreciate that it was non spicy thai food. Even had a relaxing swim stop. I highly recommend!
We enjoyed a fabulous day in a big boat. This included 4 stops. A fresh and delicious lunch was cooked on board as we toured around. 1st stop bond island and the 2nd & 3rd stop we went through spectacular caves on canoes with local canoeists. Refreshments were plentiful and the last stop we enjoyed a swim in the temperament ocean. Staff and service of the" BJ canoeing tour" Were A1 A great day out !
Top day out! The guides were so helpful all of the way particularly on James bond Island!
The most amazing trip by speed boat to see Phang Nga Bay, Koh Panak cave (by canoe), Ko Hong, Ko Panyi, Khao Khian, Khao Phing Kan (James Bond island) and finishing on Naka Island with the whitest, purest sand. ☀️🩵 Mac, our guide was brilliant, couldn’t have done more for us. Very comfortable on the boat with a great, helpful crew.
Amazing trip, the guide was great and very welcoming. We had a lovely day. It was well organised and enjoyable. Remember your sun screen, swimwear and water shoes
Awesome trip to ‘James Bond’ Island, Hong and Panak Islands on the ‘big boat’ - which is a comfortable size with plenty of indoor and on deck space for all the passengers. (Much better than the ‘fast boat’ option I reckon - more comfortable ride and you can see out, take photos, walk around on deck etc). The Staff were terrific, lunch on board was good, and the kayak excursions (with your own guide in the kayak for 2 guests) was sooo cool - stunning sea caves, waterfalls, gorges, limestone crystal formations, & the spectacular islands all made for a great adventure. Highly recommended
This tour was excellent, hotel pick up made it easy, the tour guide was informative, the canoe tours made the experience extra special and our canoeist was humorous throughout so even better. Lunch was really good with a variety of local food and there was plenty to eat as well as snacks throughout the day. Our swimming time was in a beautiful setting. Even the toilets on the boat were excellent.
Our trip to James Bond Island was fantastic. Mac was an excellent guide, friendly and knowledgeable, and he took some great photos throughout the day. The canoeing was amazing, and the caving experience was a real highlight. An unforgettable day that we would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.
Amazing experience Amazing service Everything was so well organized
Lovely calm relaxing day. Staff where amazing. Canoeing was beautiful. If you are looking for a calm peaceful trip highly recommend.
This tour was amazing!!! From the guides Mac to my kayak guide. So much to see and explore. All I could say is if you have to choose only one make it this. Mac was also a perfect photographer for James Bond island. He even had a golden gun prop for the photos.
Great tour start to finish. Hotel pickup was even 5 minutes early. Our tour guide Mack and his crew from BJ Canoeing did a fantastic job - extremely well organized. First and foremost he was very safety conscious - from boat safety to wearing hard hats when exploring the caves. Always updated on each of the islands and keeping us updated on departures times even offered to take pictures of us along the way.
A really lovely day out, the crew of the boat really looked after everyone on the boat and kept us all updated, Mack is a real joy to be around a nice man indeed
Mac was our guide and he was very attentive. We got to be paddled around in a canoe, walk through a cave, and walk around James bond island. We swam in the ocean. Wonderful day- we did two different boat tours, different experiences and we enjoyed them both. Thai food is always a good choice for lunch
Wow!! What can I say this tour company is amazing 👏.. we Had Mack as our tour guide. He was amazing..thoughtful..kind.. he was very informative about the local islands the hole setup was well planed with enough time to see and experience everything. The buffet lunch was great 8 out of 10.. this tour was an extremely good value for the money payed. Highly recommend.
My husband and I did the speedboat option yesterday as part of our 2+ week honeymoon in Thailand. Knocking off 1 star for communications: this tour is run by BJ Canoeing Tours, which is not what it says on Viator. I had to reach out for my updated pickup time and received responses from two different WhatsApp accounts (one was BJ, the other was The Thailand Tours). They did not appropriately share what to bring to be prepared and during the tour or what exactly the boats would look like. I’ve had tour guides who were better with sharing agendas and scheduling during the tour itself as well. Knocking off 1 star for the obvious shakedowns: it started with a hard sell for dry bags, which we immediately saw around the corner for 50% of the price, and which we never really needed for the activities. At the end, Dong made a hard pitch for tips and passed around a jar, which I have not seen from any other tour in Thailand. Knocking off a third star for the stops: canoeing at Hong Island was dreamy and I would do it again in a heartbeat. James Bond Island is what it is (a big tourist stop so not my thing but others enjoyed it). The floating village had terrible lunch and they tried to get me to take photos of children at school, which was really disturbing. It’s not a village, it’s just the worst Thai market I’ve seen here. Our guide took us to a cave which I refused to enter when I saw a monkey following us (I didn’t want to get bitten or invade their space). My fellow tour member described the cave walk as “stressful” when she returned so I think I made a good choice. Swimming at the beach was nice, except for being forced to pay for extremely expensive drinks in order to use a chair and people trying to force expensive jet ski rides on me every time I moved. Finally, 1 star removed for a grabby guide: he invaded my husband’s space so many times, grabbed his hand, practically sat in his lap, and was defensive when asked to stop. He also kept saying he loses people all the time at stops, which was not reassuring. He would give us free rein to do whatever at most stops but threatened to leave us if we couldn’t find our way back in time. Really bizarre behavior from a “guide”. So we’ve landed at 1 measly star. Maybe all Phang Nga Bay Tours are like this, but this is the one I experienced. I recommend giving it a miss and trying one of the many other wonderful experiences I’ve had in this beautiful country.
Trip was better than expected beautiful and scenic Canoeing through the caves was a great experience Would recommend this trip
It was a very long day for us since we were on the very south side of Phuket and the traffic was horrible. Thankfully we didn’t have to do any of the driving and could enjoy the long rides a little more. The speed boat tour was great as we were able to walk through the cave at monkey island which was a great experience. After that it was a short ride to where we were loaded onto canoes for nice paddling through caves where the paddler pointed out rock formations that looked like a piranha, turtle and elephant. Then it was off to Bond Island which, to me, was nothing too special but I did rewatch the movie later and it was pretty neat having been there. After that was buffet lunch at the village on stilts that was really good. The village is nice. After lunch it was a long boat ride to Panya Beach which was very commercial. Overall it was a nice day.
Boat ride out to the different islands was a fun ride!! Not as bumpy as you would think it being a speedboat. Beautiful islands and floating market you get to stop at for lunch! Would recommend to anyone going to Thailand
It was the best trip with Ibrahim as our guide, he is super fun and interactive. We same the James bond island, canoed near the limestone caves, panak island, naka island and so much more. Don’t think twice , just book this tour and you will be sorted ! Bon vien !
We really like the tour on the speedboat. We never had to rush anything to get to the next point and we did enjoy all the stops (including the beach here we went for a swim). Abrahim and he’s team were amazing, very helpful and always smilling. In doubt, you should spend the extra $ and go on the speedboat
The James Bond Island is quite crowded, but we managed to get the mandatory photos. The big boat is comfortable, clean, and without rough seas with snacks, water, coffee, fruit... and a good mood and lots of music on the way back. Two interesting canoe trips into caves with an experienced boatman. All in all, a very nice and successful excursion.
A superb experience, in turquoise waters and breathtaking landscapes, the boat is very cute and pleasant. We saw very pretty colorful fish while snorkeling, and even baby sharks 🤩. Maya Bay is a beautiful beach, great for taking nice photos, but it remains a part of the excursion that feels very "mass tourism"; you cannot relax on the beach, it is a beach for taking pictures. We did not see any monkeys on Monkey Beach, but they are everywhere in Thailand 😉 The excursion was fantastic, the crew was kind and attentive, snorkeling equipment is provided, as well as water and fruit. In short, go for it, you will love your excursion 😁
Picked up on time, nice guide (Mac). Speedboat rides good. Nature to enjoy.
View good, but too many on the boat. Definitely. You just try to pull the money out of your pocket. I'd say mass handling. The food on the boat and lap is not the point. Wouldn't do that anymore, just where you dine on an island. With table and chair. Catamaran would be optimal. Otherwise, it was good. Begging for tips was absurd and totally out of line with me. The tours are expensive enough. For living conditions, but that's how people are, don't get enough. Canoeing was very nice, but even since tip...
