It was a last minute booking but well worth the trip. We stayed in the north of phuket island so it was quite a journey with the traffic. It was a well run sanctuary. Kids enjoyed feeding the elephants. We learnt a lot about the rescue of elephants and the personalities of the different elephants. It was sad to hear about the distress the elephants went through. We learnt a bit of rubber tapping and finally we were treated to lunch. The food was very tasty simple. Great value for money. It is a good half day trip. It was not a huge crowd during our visit. The staff and our guide was very knowledgeable and showed they cared for the elephants. It was a humid day butbthe atmosphere was quiet. It was sad to hear that they will be loosing this place in a few years and actively looking for a new place.

Pukky was a wonderful guide, full of knowledge and respect for the elephants. I would recommend this tour as the owners focus on elephant rescue, have good care takers, and truly allow the elephants to enjoy their retirements from their previous lives as circus acts and elephant rides. We also were delighted to see a coconut shaving and milk extraction demo. We ended our educational elephant morning visit with a Thai cooking lesson before having a delicious authentic Thai lunch.
Excellent tour and experience. Siri was an excellent host and very knowledgeable! I would definitely recommend this trip for an ethical experience with the Thai elephants
From the beginning of the tour, it is clear just how well-cared for the elephants are. It’s so amazing to observe the elephants and hear their stories. Siri was a fantastic guide; answering questions, giving clear information, caring for her tour party and even showing us how to cook. She made the experience even more special.
Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. We got to be close to elephants without any fear of the treatment they’ve had to endure to allow it. The best kind of eco tourism. Watching them bathe and hand feeding them was really special. Learning their stories and the wonderful guide, Siri, was the icing on the cake. Thank you Bukit for a special morning making the best memories and a very good lunch 😊
What a great experience! Well organized, friendly stuff, beatiful grounds. And off course it was amazing to see the elephants up close and feed them bananas. All the elephants are rescue so its great to see they get a chance at second life and free of chains. Very highly recommended trip.
Overall extremely enjoyable experience. The activity was 3 hours, you got a little introduction, fed bananas to the elephants, walked with them and then met them. The guide Jammie was so lovely and fun. She kept us safe and informed. You could feel the love the staff have for elephants. You could take pictures with the elephants, and as solo traveller really appreciated that the staff took my photos. The park is quite pretty, and there is a lot of joy. The groups started larger, after the walk around we branched off into smaller groups for our specific activities. The lunch provided was really good! I would book this again!! They are as advertised, elephant care first! So no riding, no bathing, no tricks. Though the princess put on a good show, when she bathed in the pool. It was really magical to get to spend time with elephants and learn about all 8 of them.
This reserve does an amazing job looking after rescue elephants. You get told about the individual elephants, what happened to the. & their personalities. We chose this park because It is ethical, the needs of these beautiful animals come 1st Elephants can be fed and photos can be taken with them but they can’t be touched. You get to follow the elephants around the reserve and after learning about rubber farming, you’re given a delicious lunch. The reserve is a charity and receives no funding. We had a lovely morning & are so glad we supported this wonderful cause.
Great to see elephants in a sanctuary setting, to learn about them as individuals, interact with them in a more respectful way and contribute to their on going care. Lunch was great too.
A really nice, small park with great guide. The elephants are so calm and happy and you come really close. Nice lunch included, all in all a great experience just 20 min from Kata.
Beautiful experience and a great lunch. It was great to hear about the rescues. Knowing that the cost go towards keeping them in practice to be able to take care and expand was well worth the admission fee. I do wish there were separate groups for families with children but nonetheless still great.
Lauren and I attended this tour, and we had the most majestic and amazing time. The team truly showcased warmth, hospitality, and a genuine ethic of care for the animals. We chose the package that included food, and it was so good—definitely made with love. Our tour guide was funny and very knowledgeable. What a time! Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Had great morning early afternoon our guide told use about the elephants the story's how there got them We watch 2 take bath which was good to see We could touch some and not others You have good time We had food which was lovely
Really really good. Our tour guide was brilliant! Loved feeding the elephants bananas and learning about how to cook Thai food. They even catered for me being vegetarian. Highly recommend.
Just got in from great half day trip could not wait ro do this trip our guide she was amazing she talked about every elephants which was there also she made use meal at the end You.can feed the elephants watch some take bath which was funny to see You.have great time
Bukit elephant park is a must see! They take such good care of the elephants and educate you on the ethical ways to care for them. We were able to feed and pet some of them which was awesome! Sara was the best guide ever!! The lunch we had after was the best Thai food we’ve ever had! Would highly recommend this excursion!
It is lovely to see the elephant in a more natural environment, not forced to work. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, especially to my wife who walks with a stick. They explained the history of each elephant, especially which were happy to be touched. A truly wonderful experience to get so close to such lovely animals. We also enjoyed the lunch, I need to get the recipe.
The experience lived up to my expectations. Elephants able to be moving around and provided for. Excellent guide who provided us with information about the elephants as we walked through the park. The Thai cooking class was excellent with the dish made the highlight and delicious part of the meal.
An amazing experience. The staff really respect and care for the elephants in the park and have great knowledge about the different personalities of each elephant. The rubber tree tapping, traditional coconut milk making, cooking demonstration and lunch was an added bonus giving value for money.
A wholesome experience, beautiful animals and really knowledgeable guides. Gift was our tour leader, she was friendly, informative and focused. We loved the day and would fully recommend.
A wonderful experience at a ethical park. The elephants are well loved and taken care of. We learnt their names and some of their history. Relieved to hear these ladies will live out their days safely and loved. The guide Sara was amazing. Very informative and funny too. So nice to see the animals in natural habitat and not a concrete prison. Throughly recommend a visit here. Ps some delightful felines greeted us at reception.
This was such a fun experience and probably my favorite tour that I’ve done. The elephants are so beautiful the staff was incredibly kind and we got to feed, pet and watch the elephants in such a natural environment. The cooking class was very fun and the food was fantastic so would definitely recommend this package, the rubber tapping was quick but still informative. Gift was a fantastic guide and I would do this again
This was an incredible tour. The elephants here are not harmed and no bathing with them. We got to feed them and take photos of them out in their sanctuary. All the money goes to the elephants and each one has its own caretaker which is very nice. This taught me so much about the elephants & we also took a cooking class after that was delicious and hands on.
Not a lot of interaction with the elephants Fed them bananas at the start then tour guide spoke about them throughout the tour couple of photo opportunities then lunch which was nice
Good communication for pick up instructions. Got to spend time with & feed elephants. Nice lunch. All round a good experience. My son enjoyed his birthday.
Great way to see elephants in a natural environment. You get to feed them a basket of bananas at the start of the tour. You can also have photos with and touch the elephants (under supervision). You will also get to see them have a bath. It was very informative explaining interesting Elephant facts and why sanctuaries such as these exist. You can also learn how rubber trees are tapped and coconut milk is made. The path can be a bit rugged so may not be suitable for those with limited abilities but you are able to stop and return at any time if it gets too much. The guides were extremely friendly and informative. The bus transfer was also good in an air conditioned comfy mini bus. Definitely recommend if you want to visit an ethical sanctuary.
I couldn’t recommend this activity any more. The staff were incredible. The knowledge of each of the elephants they have is amazing. This is a proper sanctuary. Don’t expect to ride or bathe them. These are elephants that have been rescued and are now living their best lives. Highly recommend the lunch after. They teach you how to make traditional soup and there were so many extra dishes added to our meal. This really is a once in a lifetime opportunity for anyone. Enjoy!
Excellent experience, kids loved the interaction with the elephants, the tour guide was informative and the lunch to end was a delight
Fabulous experience! The animals are treated as family; with care and compassion. Our guide, Gift, was super knowledgeable, spoke wonderful English and you can see that she is living her purpose.
We had a truly memorable experience at Bukit Elephant Sanctuary in Phuket! It was heartwarming to see how well the elephants are cared for—this is an ethical sanctuary where the animals’ wellbeing is clearly a top priority. A special thank you to our amazing tour guide, Sao, who made our visit even more special with her warmth and knowledge. She gave us a wonderful cooking demonstration of Thai coconut soup and showed us how fresh coconut milk is made—such a unique touch! We were also delighted to have the option of a delicious vegetarian lunch, which was much appreciated. Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Phuket. A perfect blend of learning, fun, and compassion!
The tour was exactly the way it was listed… interacted, with the elephants in a safe secure manner…. We were not looking for a long tour and it was perfect.
We thoroughly enjoyed our day. Think there were 9 rescue elephants... They told me that they have to buy them from people that are ill treating them... So the money from this visit really does help.. The elephants probably need fresh running water for bathing in as its just stagnant water... So I hope that can be achieved... But at least the animals are safe and well looked after... With only 4000 in the wild in Thailand these centres are important and at least its illegal to now capture a wild elephant... So I hope they stand a chance. The cooking demonstration and food was lovely...
We had the best time walking with the elephants in their natural surroundings. The elephants that like to be touched you could pat and hug but strictly no riding or swimming with them. We highly recommend visiting this park.
Brilliant half day experience. Met and fed the elephant and learned loads about them. Also saw how to tap rubber and make coconut milk (which was then turned into Tom Kha soup which we ate. All funds from visitors contribute to rescuing more elephants.
This was simply a beautiful experience seeing these majestic creatures looked after so well. They really know their 7 elephants so well, what they don’t like, what they do like and tell you so clearly and passionately about their work with them! Great guide. We did the half day with rubber tree demonstration and Thai cooking demo. The Thai cooking was awesome and the food we ate for lunch as part of it was fantastic. So, so good.
Great experience getting up close and personal with these wonderful elephants, all of which are rescue animals. We had a great time.
An incredible and completely humane experience! The elephants are all retired and treated so well here. Was amazing feeding them through their trunks AND tongues! Our guide was great and so informative, we learned a lot from him. We 100% recommend booking this if you want to see elephants.
An amazing learning experience with well informed tour guides. I proposed to my fiance there and they made it so special accommodating to our needs. They went above and beyond our expectations with how well they informed us about these beautiful creatures. They taught us about the rubber trees which was cool as well as their relationship with these rescued animals. You feel safe and leave with knowledge about the elephants and gain a greater respect for the caretakers, the elephants, and the establishment. This is a cruelty free area where the elephants roam free and act/behave naturally versus other areas where the animals are worked and seem trained versus living in their natural element. Much thanks to the staff for an unforgettably wild and dream come true experience!
It was awesome. I would suggest water before the walk but over all is was great and very informative.
This was an amazing experience to walk alongside of these beautiful creatures. The staff was welcoming and informative, we spent time learning a little about each elephant we met in their natural environment, not chained up! We then learned how to make coconut milk and were provided a demonstration on how to make soup just before having a beautiful lunch overlooking the elephant habitat.
This was a really great time! Driver was on time and the whole experience was really organized. This package gets you the green sticker which includes the cooking class. I wish we could have had an option to get the pink which includes a little more activity with the elephants. But none the less, feeding the elephants and watching them in their natural habitat was really wholesome and heart warming. Would definitely do this again. Love the cause!
Amazing experience getting up close and personal with the magnificent and beautiful Asian Thai Elephants. They have no ropes or chains and the tour guide (Mr OK) and the caretaker team show a great deal of knowledge, experience and care for the elephants in the park. You get the opportunity to see, feed, touch and socialise with these animals that were formerly used in logging or tourist ride camps which have left lasting damage to these beautiful creatures. You do not need them to be tied up or to sit on their backs to experience these gentle giants. If you do then get a grip of yourself and stay at home! As you move through the park the knowledge that is shared with you is brilliant and gives you an insight in to the lives of the elephants. The tour goes on to show you rubber trees and the harvesting process and then an amazing dining experience where you are shown the process of making traditional Thai foods! I would highly recommend anyone that wants to see the elephants in as close to nature without it being wild and yet an ethical way comes and visits this park over any of the torture camps! Support a group of people doing it the right way.
What a wonderful experience to watch and touch the magnificent animals. The guide was very informative and the pace was set by the group enabling all to get photos. The even provided water. The rubber tree and Thai cooking class was fabulous, topped off with a Thai meal. Definitely recommend this to everyone.
A sanctuary that respects the space and habitat of elephants and prioritizes their well-being over that of tourists even though they can admire them in their normal and free activity
Amazing experience Lots of emotions, the meeting with these calm creatures who nevertheless had a difficult life. No bathing!!!! The elephant does what he wants, his caregiver stays with him, we see the bond they have together. They walk and bathe as they please! We took the whole morning, with the addition of an explanation of rubber and how to make coconut milk, ending with an excellent Thai meal. The extremely kind guide
