I just had the most wonderful tour with Gigi! She is an excellent guide, so friendly and knowledgeable. She grew up here and is very passionate about the old town Phuket food and took time to explain the history of different dishes, the local operators and many different parts of Thai culture. I am so glad I did this tour. I was lucky enough to be the only participant, so I had a one on one tour with Gigi. I would do it again in a heartbeat! Gigi also took lots of photos for me and provided a detailed list of everything we ate. The places she chose for us to go were all very different - from a tranquil tea house to a Michelin-recommended noodle restaurant. My favourite dish was Pla Tod Krueng - a fried fish with dried Phuket curry and fried morning glory. The places we visited did not feel “touristy” at all and I would never have found them by myself. Do this tour - it is excellent value and you won’t regret it. I’m glad to have made a friend like Gigi, as a solo traveller it was heart warming to have a few hours with such a lovely local. She also went above and beyond to help me plan some activities for the rest of my time here. Thank you Gigi!

We joined a brilliant food tour led by our excellent guide, Gigi, who took us on a delicious journey through the town’s vibrant food scene. With six different stops along the way, we sampled a wide variety of local dishes, each offering its own unique flavours and a real taste of Phuket’s rich food culture. Our tour was absolutely fantastic! Gigi was our guide and she was so so lovely! This was the highlight of our trip! We had no idea where to eat in Phuket and were stuck amongst tourist traps, naively we thought this was all there was on the island. Thankfully Gigi showed us otherwise! It’s not only the dishes that stand out here: it’s our tour guide Gigi. From the first moment she was able to interact with our group, making everyone feel safe and comfortable. She talks with everyone in the group, remembers their names, makes jokes, is very very polite and friendly and she keeps asking if we want more food or order something else. And yes, the food was delicious, but with this tour guide you really enjoy the whole experience. And I want to thank Gigi for that and let her company know that she is one of the best tour guides I ever encountered my whole life. She brings people and cultures together and talks with love and peace about Thailand, neighboring countries and their influences in daily life and local dishes. Thank you Gigi, you are the best!

From the description and reviews, this seemed like a perfect tour for me - and every expectation was met and then some! Our guide, Gigi, was incredibly knowledgable and attentive to every member of the group, and was herself so enthusiastic and engaged that it felt more like an old friend showing us the town and favourite places to eat. And the food... SO lovely! 15 different courses (carefully selected by Gigi to fit every participant), and every single one was so delicious that I wanted more, or to come back the next day. I can wholeheartedly recommend this for anyone even mildly interested in good street food!

Wow, what a wonderful food tour! Gigi really made the experience so special. We tried so many different delicious dishes from local Thai vendors, including recipes that have been passed down through generations. Everything felt so authentic, and I loved getting to try so many different foods while learning about the culture and history behind them. It was so much more than just a food tour. It was a really rich cultural and historical experience, and one of the best experiences I’ve had in Thailand. I would highly recommend it! 🙏🏽😊

This experience surpassed all my expectations! I ate great food and tried dishes I would never have on my own, and learned so much about Thailand culture. Gigi was one of the best guides I've ever went with, so delightful, genuine, and knowledgeable. We went to different food places with completely different vibes, and had a wonderful time meeting locals, trading stories, and watching this wonderful culture in action. Gigi was even kind enough to take pictures for us throughout the trip, and provide us a summary of everything we learned via message so we didn't forget, which I thought was a great gesture.

We had a group of 6 adults (brothers, sisters and partners) and our guide was the delighfully bubbly, local, Gigi. Some of us have experienced foodie tours in other Asian cities and this one was a joy for all. We were welcomed and entertained by Gigi as she kept us very well fed with a wonderful range of local treats that were pleasantly different from the range we have experienced during many visits to Patong. The pace was respectful to our aging bodies with the food and restaurants a great mix of styles. Gigi looked after us during the entire 4 hours, introduced us to her foodie families and made sure we were safely setup for our return to Patong. We all loved it.

If you’re visiting Phuket, don’t miss A Chef’s Tour—it was one of the absolute highlights of our trip. We were travelling with three children, so we weren’t sure what to expect, but the entire experience exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Lucky, was fantastic from start to finish. She was warm, knowledgeable, organised and made everything so easy for our family. She kept the tour engaging, shared fascinating insights into Thai culture and cuisine, and made sure everyone—including the kids—felt included and comfortable throughout. The food was incredible. We visited a fantastic variety of local eateries and tasted dishes we never would have found on our own. Every stop offered something different, from authentic street food to local specialties, and each dish was absolutely delicious. It was the perfect balance of trying new flavours while learning about the history and traditions behind them. What really stood out was how seamlessly everything was organised. We never had to worry about transport, finding locations or ordering food—Lucky took care of it all, allowing us to simply relax and enjoy the experience. Even with three kids, the pace was perfect, and the tour never felt rushed. A Chef’s Tour gave us a genuine taste of Phuket beyond the tourist hotspots and introduced us to places we would have completely overlooked. It was a fun, authentic and memorable experience that our whole family loved. If you’re looking for one experience that combines amazing food, local culture and wonderful hospitality, book this tour. We would do it again in a heartbeat and highly recommend asking for Lucky if you’re fortunate enough to have her as your guide!

Cat was a super star tour guide! Very knowledgeable on all the restaurants and their specialties. We really enjoyed all the dishes (outside of the usual pad Thai, green curry, mango sticking rice dishes). The Old town experience was great, probably a bit crowded due to the Sunday night market but overall our party of 9 had a great evening. We definitely got some steps in which really helped to balance out all the food! Thanks again Cat and A Chefs Tour!

This experience was amazing. We toured with Gigi and had an amazing time, she knew almost everyone not only from the restaurant's but from the streets as well. You get an abundant amount of food during this tour. The admission fee is extremely fair for the amount of time you spend on the tour, the information you learn, and of course the food you eat. The group size is good enough to not be over crowded but perfect for the amount t if time to get to know each other. Over all it was a good experience and the atmosphere was amazing.

Cat was our guide. Cat was at the meeting place early had our group of 5 checked in early and we began the tour on time - always a great start. Cat explained everything we had planned for the day and moved us out. Not only did she tell us about the places we would be visiting, she informed us of the culture, history and how the area had developed and why it had developed that way. It was very informative and interesting. She also let us know to save room throughout the tour. You do not have to eat everything which was great advice. The tour lasted about three and a half hours. It was a perfect amount of time. We never felt rushed or hurried along. By the end of the tour, you were left wondering where I am going to fit the dessert??? but we all managed somehow. If your are questioning if you should take the tour or do it on your own, just sign up and do the tour. It is well worth the money and it is great to have a local like Cat explaining where the food you are eating comes from. Great Job Cat! = Thank you, Daniel

My wife and I have been travelling to Phuket for nearly 20 years. During this food tour we discovered a whole new love for the island and the locals that permanently live here. Our tour guide was Cat and she gave us a great overall experience of the Historic Phuket town and the mix of cultures that have made it what it is today. The food was great with a range of favourites that we will certainly visit again on our next trip.

We had a lovely lady by the name of Lucky take us through this food tour. She was full of knowledge full of character and was so special we absolutely loved her. The food was beautiful. The people we met was incredible and we had the most amazing four hours I highly recommend it.

The walking tour was conducted in Phuket Old Town. We tasted a variety of Thai food and learnt about the Malaysian and Chinese influence due to people moving to Phuket to work in the tin mines in the early days. All the food was delicious and plentiful. You won't go hungry!!

We recently did the Baba food tour in Phuket, and it was hands-down the highlight of our trip! It ended up being a wonderfully intimate group—just us, a lovely couple from Ireland we met on the tour, and our guide, Gigi. The small group size made the whole evening feel like a fun night out with friends. Gigi was phenomenal. She brought the history and culture of Phuket to life and took us to 6 different places for tastings, all of which were fantastic and authentic. But what truly set this experience apart was how Gigi looked out for us after the tour ended. We were having a nightmare trying to get a ride back to our hotel—Grab drivers kept accepting and then canceling on us. Even though her job was technically done, Gigi refused to leave us stranded. She stayed with us for 15–20 minutes and ended up calling a personal connection of hers to come pick us up and get us back safely. That is next-level customer service. Book this tour and ask for Gigi—she treats you like family!

One of the best food tours I’ve been on. Gigi, the tour guide, was amazing - taking me to places I never would’ve gone to on my own and turning it into a fantastic experience. She brought great energy throughout, and I’d absolutely do it again. No question was ever treated as stupid, and she made the tour just as much about the experience and culture as the food she was so passionately showing.

Fino is very knowledgeable about the food, history and the people who cook the food. I was the only person on the tour and she was very considerate of my comfort levels and made sure I enjoyed myself It’s a great way to enjoy local cuisine in one setting.

We had a fantastic time on this foodie tour through Phuket Old Town with our guide, Cat. She is an amazing tour guide in that she personally engaged with everyone in our small group (8 in total) by making all of us feel welcome with her warm and bubbly personality, providing us suggestions on how much to eat (so we did not get hit with a food coma too early in the tour) and how to eat like a local Thai. The food itself was absolutely delicious with out favourite being the Khao Tom Haeng (dry rice porridge) at Go Benz. Cat also gave us a lot of historical background on each of 7 stops on the tour along with some helpful Thai phrases we could use during our stay in Thailand. Overall, we cannot recommend this tour enough, and would suggest you book it if you are thinking of doing one in Phuket.

This food tour was exceptional. Gigi was a wonderful guide - warm, lovely, and full of great energy. Every dish I tried was incredible and felt genuinely authentic Thai, with some of the best flavours I’ve ever tasted. You can really tell there was so much care, craftsmanship, and attention to detail in every stop and every dish. I couldn’t recommend it enough. I’ll definitely be coming back with my partner to do it again, because it was that good. 10/10!
