I really enjoyed my stay at Supalai Scenic Bay Resort. The sea view was beautiful and made the whole place feel calm and refreshing, and the large swimming pool was a nice bonus. It was the kind of setting that made it easy to slow down and just enjoy being there. I’d happily come back.

I don’t know what all the negative reviews about this place are all about. I found this place to be an absolute joy. Gorgeous views from room and restaurant. The spa was excellent. Tuk did my massage and she was excellent. Would definitely recommend. I found the food to be excellent with lots of options. So much so that even after I checked out, I stayed to have lunch. It’s true this place is far from the rest of the town but I knew as much when I booked the place. Would definitely recommend and hope to come back soon.
We stayed at this hotel expecting a relaxing getaway, but unfortunately our experience was quite disappointing. The location is very remote — literally in the middle of nowhere. Be prepared to spend a lot of money on taxis, as it takes around an hour to get to Phuket or Patong. Getting transport was a constant struggle; many drivers didn’t want to come up to the hotel, and we were often left waiting a long time for pickups or drop-offs. We originally booked a deluxe room with a sea view, but when we arrived, it was nothing like what was advertised. To get a proper upgrade, we had to pay an additional 10,000 baht for our 10-day stay, which felt unfair. Another downside was the lack of basic amenities. There’s no accessible drinking water around the hotel — only two small bottles per day provided in the room, which is far from enough, especially in the heat. The hotel itself feels very empty and isolated. While it is quiet, it’s almost too quiet, and the lack of atmosphere made the stay feel uncomfortable rather than relaxing. Overall, unless you’re specifically looking to be completely cut off and are prepared for extra transport costs and limited amenities, this hotel may not be the best choice.
This is purely a kind of Russian hotel where the food options are nil for Indians. Very of far from city reach and to & fro daily to any city locations will costs you 2500 Baht minimum. As a vegetarian Indian, we found only Margareta pizza to eat. Morning breakfast is completely non vegetarian and you will be forced to pay 200 Baht which was not justified in my case. I had was coffee and a toasted bread. They are got a private bay which is almost dry except at early morning or late night. Staff are good and resort is good choice for Russians as I have them plenty. Great view for the first one hour or one day
We booked a villa for more space, privacy and a good view of the sunrise. Definitely delivered. We had dinner twice at the restaurant and were positively surprised how authentic the Thai food was. (Considering that they had lots of western options on the menu and breakfast was disappointing) The location is really remote and not ideal if you want to explore, like we were planning to. Booking a taxi to the 7/11 cost us 300 Baht round trip, still cheaper than ordering drinks and snacks at the bar /restaurant. The transfer to the airport was 700 Baht. We tried to rent scooters but the contact details of the rental places had extremely high prices. If you break it down the rate per day was between 500 -1000 Baht, instead of the 250 Baht per day we had paid on other islands. Gave us a really bad feeling that making money from someone's misery was top priority. The worst though: the staff seemed poorly trained, short staffed and overworked and not at all as hospitable as we had gotten used to in Thailand. This seems like a management issue. Either a lot of fear or resignation on the staff's side. Examples: I had an obvious injury that was not once addressed or asked after. Which was very unusual. We went to the reception several times regarding questions, such as transportation, bike rental etc. and it always took 3-4 employees to answer those questions. We decided to bite the bullet and check out early (after 2 days instead of 4, since we were miserable) but were denied on first try. Only after a longer discussion and signing of paperwork we realized that they thought we wanted a refund (which we never mentioned or expected). I can only assume this had been a regular occurrence, since the employee jumped to this conclusion. Lastly, upon check-out we were asked to wait so our room could be checked. We were asked several times if we had forgotten something and then were shown an unpacked suitcase in a random room to demonstrate that we had not properly vacated our room. We insisted this was not our luggage nor our room and after another wait we were finally (literally) waved off, no apology, no good-bye. I am pretty sure that the right training and positive reinforcement of the staff could positively influence how they handle customer questions and complaints while maintaining their wonderful Thai attitude. At this moment however it feels like they don't know how to handle the customers issues on the one side and the managements expectations on the other.
