Maikhao Palm Beach Resort

We traveled 90 minutes by minibus with our children to Mai Khao Palace, excited for our stay. When we arrived, the reception staff were rude, dismissive, and irresponsible. They told us:"We don't take bookings from Agoda anymore."We showed them our confirmed booking email — no cancellation notice, no messages, nothing. We had driven all that way with our family, and they simply refused to honour it. We called Agoda immediately — their team were helpful, polite, and professional. They spoke to the hotel staff, who were equally rude to the Agoda representative. Moments later, Agoda confirmed our booking had been cancelled on the spot by the hotel. Then their attitude suddenly changed — and they offered us the same room at double the price we had already paid/agreed to through Agoda. This is a blatant scam. As of today, Agoda still lists them as available for booking — so they are accepting reservations they have no intention of honouring, then trying to force guests to pay more on arrival. Beyond this dishonest practice: • The hotel felt empty — plenty of rooms available • Grounds and pools looked unkempt and spooky • Only 3 staff members visible — no proper service • Not welcoming at all, especially to families • Did not feel safe or inviting with children Save your money, time, and peace of mind — stay far away from here.

We had a wonderful stay at Maikhao Palm Beach Resort. The hotel itself is fabulous, immaculate throughout, and situated in a great location right by the beach. What made our stay extra special was the exceptional staff. Everyone we met was warm, knowledgeable, and incredibly approachable. A huge thank you to the kitchen and restaurant team for looking after my daughter so well—she requires a strict gluten-free diet, and they catered to her every single day with great care and attention. Traveling with dietary requirements can often be stressful, but the team made her feel safe, included, and thoroughly provided for. The property amenities are fantastic for families: Facilities & Activities: Excellent pools (including a dedicated children's pool area), a well-equipped gym, and an activity room to keep everyone entertained. Resort Transport: If your room is further back on the grounds or you’re tired after a long day of exploring, reception provides a convenient buggy service straight to your room. Getting Around: Local Tuk-Tuks are easily accessible right outside the hotel, costing around 100 THB for a quick ride into the local Mai Khao centre. A clean, beautiful, family-friendly resort with genuine Thai hospitality. We couldn't have asked for a better holiday experience!

The Perfect Mommy & Daddy Getaway Mai Khao Palm Beach Resort has been EVERYTHING we needed for a little mommy & daddy escape. The service? A1. From the moment we arrived, everyone has been warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The rooms are magnificent...spacious, beautiful, and incredibly comfortable. And we had a swim-up pool… say less. The location is PERFECT. It’s right across from the beach, but tucked away from the crowds and tourist madness. It’s peaceful, quiet, and not busy at all. Exactly what you want when you’re trying to actually relax. The hotel itself is gorgeous, with beautiful Oriental-inspired architecture that gives it so much character. It feels intimate and peaceful rather than like one of those massive, crowded resorts. Honestly, for a mommy & daddy getaway, this place checked every box. Good service. Beautiful room. Pool. Beach. Peace and quiet. No chaos. Sometimes you don’t need a big vacation. You just need 24–48 hours where nobody needs anything from you. Mai Khao Palm Beach Resort, you understood the assignment. 10/10.

I stayed at this resort mainly because it is close to the airport, as I had an early morning flight. The rooms were spacious and clean, but the resort is in a very isolated area with not much to do nearby, and you usually need a Grab to go anywhere or explore good food as mostly 7-Elevens are available nearby. The resort is quite spread out, so the walk from reception to the rooms is long. At night, this walk feels uncomfortable and a bit scary, especially for solo travelers. The staff seemed disinterested, and the breakfast options were limited. Okay for a one night stay, but not recommended for longer stays.
