Chabana Resort

Unfortunately had some issues with this hotel. The real problem is with road noise - the hotel is squeezed between a small but busy road and a lagoon and half the rooms are within a few feet of the road. On google street view the road looks small and not very busy but at night it's on the direct path between dozens of hotels and the restaurant complex at Boat Avenue so it gets all the Tuk Tuks and motorbikes until the early hours. The staff will offer you ear plugs - they're out on display in reception which tells you everything you need to know. The facilities are a bit sparse but we knew that at the time of booking and it's a short walk to plenty of restaurants so no problem for meals. The rooms themselves are of a decent size but are looking a bit tired and they lack double glazing to stop the noise - the hotel looks as if they started a redevelopment but stopped at some point. Staff are friendly, professional and helpful and apart from the noise the location is very handy for shops, restaurants etc.

The male staff member provided excellent service. He was very friendly and helpful. The room quality was good. I was upgraded to room 901, and the room was great overall. The only thing I don’t understand is the bathroom door—why is there a hole in the door? Sometimes when using the bathroom, unpleasant odors can come out into the room.

Through my Agoda account they were kind enough to upgrade me to a king superior room which was duplex. It was excellent value for money. I had a spacious room and balcony overlooking the lagoon. The hotel rooms feel more like apartments but I preferred that. No fancy lobby or gym but honestly, didn’t need it. It’s close walking distance to local restaurants and supermarket. It can be a little challenging during peak hours to wait for a grab taxi if you’re headed to Patong but it’s fine. I would stay here again for sure. The area is more high-end and prices are close to European/Western (maybe abit less). If you’re looking for cheaper Thai prices then Patong is better but obviously more chaotic

We picked this location because it was close to Boat Avenue however might be better off staying at Holiday Garden Inn which has about the same rate. This place is far from 4 stars, and I thought there were some renovations? But the furnishing and the room is old and smells old and musty. Would not come back again
