We booked this tour without including food as we all had different tastes. The tour started late with 1 person not turning up. We travelled by minibus which was very spacious. The first stop was great and we enjoyed the meal recommendations from our guide (Soma?). Next stop was supposed to be rice paper rolls but when we arrived it was closed....thought this might have been confirmed beforehand. We were not offered an alternative so just skipped a course altogether. We then went to a seafood place and was recommended to have the seafood hotpot but as all don't eat seafood we opted for other choices, which were good. After that we stopped and looked around the night market then headed off to get ice cream on the way home. The most disappointing aspect was the tour guide. He did not introduce himself or ask our names (there were only 4 of us), he looked totally disinterested all tour and spent most of the tour scrolling on his phone, even while eating. There was no help getting into and out of the minivan. At the end of the tour we were just told to leave from the ice cream shop as it was closer to our accommodation, no option to return to pick up location as the bus had already left. We are usually very good tippers but on this occasion we opted not to leave a tip at all. We have chosen to leave a review here and not on Google.

Katie our guide was lovely and the local food places were very tasty and the options of spicy or not was appreciated. Even though it was just 2 of us being a Monday night everywhere still was busy giving it a good vibe.
Will was a fantastic guide and introduced us to foods that would not normally be on our menu at home. He was very helpful kind and patient with us allowing us to try different foods explaining everything that is in them and making sure we were well looked after the entire evening.
We had a great evening with Will, he looked after us well and introduced us to some amazing street food. Great experience!
Great experience with a fabulous guide Nay, tried sugarcane, bbq, banh mi, fish in a small village on the beach…tried a local wine.. everything was fantastic.
Fantastic experience we had Nay who works for Katie and she was amazing.. taught us so much and was super helpful as well as lots of fun and friendly
Best tour ever. Fun, informative and the opportunity to taste things you normally wouldn't and be all the better for it.
Wonderful tour. Our guide Katie was amazing, she is so personable and knows so much about the Phu Quoc food scene. This tour is excellent and I highly recommend it.
Katie was fabulous! Food was fantastic and the best Banh Mi I’ve ever tasted. Thanks Katie for looking after us and showing us around x
Katy was a great tour guide, we had so much fun exploring the town and night market. We went to 5 different stops and enjoyed them all.
We had a great time with Will who led our tour - he was funny and engaging and told us all about the local food. Highlights was the dessert at the end which was just delicious. Whole family enjoyed it - including 9yo nephew who can be hard to please!
This street food tour was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and the food was delicious with a great variety of local dishes. Everything was well organized. Highly recommended for anyone who loves food and wants a real taste of Phu Quoc!
Kat was a very friendly and informative guide not just on food but on the culture and area as well. My favorite stops were the skewers cart and coconut ice cream. Wish we had been able to taste some seafood as Phu Quoc is known for the fresh seafood but all in all it was a good experience. Power went out in the entire area during our walk through the night market but there were enough generators to keep us going. Simply added to the adventure. Kat sent some food recommendations for the rest of our visit and offered to be of assistance if we had any questions. It was partial walking and partial transportation and she made sure that we had a ride back to our hotel at the end of the evening.
We had an amazing time with Katie. Very well organised tour with great communication prior to tour. Excellent food experience and felt very welcomed by everyone. Katie is hilarious and lots of fun had. Added bonus of transfers from our hotel by Ty which then extended to us using them again to explore other areas of the island. Great experience and contact to have on the Island. We will miss seeing Ty’s aqua cap 🧢
We loved our street food tour with Soma! The food was delicious and abundant. Loved everything! What a great way to discover more of the Vietnamese culture through their cuisine. Soma was very nice and funny too. I would warmly recommend this tour
Katie’s food tour was amazing! She’s so fun to be around and the food was absolutely delicious. Katie also arranged for her lovely husband to pick us up from our hotel, which was very convenient. I would highly recommend this tour. Just make sure you’re hungry before you go, there is so much great food to eat!
Katie was very friendly and hilarious. We are the most delicious food. The seafood was amazing. Loved every minute. Thanks Katie and Chàng. If you are looking for a great night out eating the most delicious food. This tour is for you. Yum ;-)
Katie was a great host, she shared enough and also took my cue (l was the only guest) as to how long to stay at a place She was knowledgeable, humerous and resourceful. The food was a good selection and variety of choices but not too much.
I got lucky and was the only person that booked that night so it was more personal. Because of that I got to ride with her on her motor bike and she even took me to the mall so I could buy a traditional Vietnamese dress. We stopped at 3 food places in total. I opted for the option were I’d pay for my own food and I think that was smart. I’m a very picky eater and food is very cheap in Pho Quoc. I think it’s a better value especially since you don’t know how many places/types of food you’ll be eating ahead of time. I’d definitely book again.
I had a great evening with Katie and her husband who picked me up and dropped me off back to my place because I was staying at the southern part of the island. We tried some of the most delicious things I’ve eaten so far during my trip in Vietnam. We had really nice conversations and laughs, so if you are especially travelling solo like me, I recommend you this tour so you can enjoy a good company and yummy food :)
We did the Food Tour with the lovely Katie and her wingman Ty. They took us to a street food BBQ vendor where we tried everything from sausage to chicken feet. Next we hopped into an electric buggy and went to the non tourist area of Phu Quoc town where we had a fabulous Bahn Mi with all the trimmings. Definitely only frequented by locals on scooters. Then we went further afield and had a fabulous seafood stockpot cooked by Ty and Katie. We finished the evening with a walk through the night market and coconut ice cream. Katie is very knowledgeable and has a great personality. We really felt like we had immersed ourselves in the local culture and got to try some great food that only the local islanders would know about. I thoroughly recommend this tour.
Katie is a very engaging, cheerful guide, sharing her knowledge and observations about Phu Quoc and life on the island. I think there are food tours aplenty, but to find a quality guide is harder. Would thoroughly recommend Katie.
The knowledge of where to and where not to eat, is not to be underestimated when trying out Vietnam’s street food. Not only do you get that knowledge plus stories of the history behind the dishes you’ll sample, you get it from Katie, the most exceptional tour guide in Phu Quoc! She knows her stuff and the food you’ll eat is the best you’ll find, but you’d expect that. It’s her friendly and bubbly personality that make this tour a joy from start to finish. Nothing is too much trouble, even a child fussy eater! Katie sent her husband Ty out on a borrowed scooter, on a side mission to fetch food that our daughter would eat! 10 mins later, noodles appeared and she wolfed it down. Mission accomplished! From the food to the locals you’ll meet, rolling through town from place to place in a tour buggy, to the fun you’ll have hanging out with Katie and Ty, every part of this Phu Quoc Street Food Tour is a 5 star experience. Look no further. You’ll love it. Oh and if like us, you haven’t prepared a full itinerary for your Phu Quoc stay, Katie can sort out all of that for you too. As well as looking after us for the whole evening, she also managed to book us onto tours for the remainder of our stay, with Ty as our personal transport around the island. They made the whole thing simple. Thank you Katie and Ty for everything! We had a great time in Phu Quoc thanks to your recommendations and help. If you're thinking about booking this, look no further. You have found what you're looking for! Tip: Book the food tour at the beginning of your stay and you’ll have places to eat bookmarked for the remainder of it! We had the coconut ice-cream most nights!
Katie is an amazing host!!!! She took me and my sisters to some amazing spots to try local delicacies on the island. The food we tried was amazing. The food that we tried on the our was a mixture of well known Vietnamese dishes. Along with some new dishes that we were unfamiliar with. She was really attentive and took really good care of us. Ensuring that we enjoyed our time on the trip. Every time that we got to a new spot. She would give us details of the spot and the food we were about to eat. Not only was she knowledge about the food. She would answer all of our questions. Whether or not they were about the food. We really enjoyed our time with her. I really would encourage anyone that goes to Phu Quoc to do the food tour with her. You will have a blast with her.
Great fun food tour. Katie our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly and introduced us to a variety of delicious food from local vendors. The weather wasn’t great, but Katie and her husband did a great job keeping us as dry as possible.
I have done other food tours in other cities. This one was not the best. We were not guided on what to order at each restaurant. We were taken to each place, sat down, handed a menu and told to get whatever. When you don’t know the food or culture this is difficult. And when we asked for help we were just told everything is good. This was the most expensive food tour we did in Vietnam and it was the worst. Only went to 3 places plus dessert. Every other tour I went on I paid half the price, went to 6 locations and had a better time. Guide was friendly and fun but some guidance would have been nice especially at the last location. I was hesitant to leave a bad review but since this tour was so expensive I hope to warn other travelers or get this team to make a better tour for people
Katie was fabulous and so kind. We got GENEROUS portions of food and got to see parts of the downtown that we would’ve not gotten to see or know without the guidance of Katie. Wonderful experience and 100% must when visiting this island.
We had a great evening. Me and my son, and an Australian couple participated. Out guide Katie was nice, fun and spoke good English. We got a lot of food of great quality, and really fun time with lots of laughs.
One of my favorite things to do while traveling is learning the culture through food. I found this tour on Viator and was impressed by the glowing reviews. Well, I would like to add my own. Katie and her husband were amazing!!!! We booked during low season and were the only couple. I especially appreciate that shortly after booking, we were contacted and asked about food allergies (which I have). Upon arrival, Katie asked did we have specific food that we wanted to try and altered the tour on the spot to accommodate our list! Her husband joined us, and often went ahead to coordinate the next stop. They were like celebrities! Everyone knew them and extended their hospitality to show us and good time and delicious food. DEFINITELY COME HUNGRY! My husband had to step in and take on most of my portions for me. We were able to try so many food options that we would not have found ourselves. Katie provided a lot of history on Phu Quoc, the food, Vietnamese traditions, etc. She also provided information for navigating the markets ourselves, and recommendations for the remainder of our trip. I cannot recommend this tour enough, book now! It'll be like having a night out with old friends. We ran into Katie the next day at the amusement park, where she greeted us and checked on my husband who had a tummy ache from overeating. (100% my fault since I could not finish my portions. LOL) She gave recommendations for treatment and even continued to check on us for the remainder of our vacay. Thank you so much Katie and OK for going over and beyond just a basic food tour. This was hands down one of the best and most memorable experiences in Phu Quoc!
Tour guide, Katie was very bright and bubbly. took us through the streets and brought us to some very nice places for food. also understood more about phu quoc's history and what locals eat.
Great food tour with a lovely lady, Nay. Tried foods for the first time and I wasn't worried about eating various street foods as all the vendors were clean and ingredients were fresh. Nay also gave a lot of information and education and was just really bubbly and friendly Would definitely recommend this tour. The coconut ice cream at the end was amazing
We did five different food tours while in Vietnam and this was hands-down our FAVORITE! Katie is the BEST tour guide ever… It’s like going out for a fun night with friends. She is so sweet and funny! Our first stop was a BBQ place….there was so much variety and we basically had all of it … I even ate the head of the duck lol! There were amazing sausages, beef skewers…you name it they had it! Definitely pace yourself because that is just one of 4 stops! What made this tour so special, aside from the food and Katie’s winning personality, was how flexible Katie was! If you want more food, you just tell her what you want and she grabs it for you. An English man on our tour was asking her about some type of special seasoning powder packet he had heard about in a cooking class and the next thing we know, Katie had sent her husband, OK, somewhere and he came back with 4 packets for him! Ok worked with Katie the whole evening and never stopped smiling. He does not speak English, but it made no difference… Katie‘s English is excellent! He would run ahead to secure buggies to take us to our next stop, make sure we had places to sit and basically took care of everything, so that all Katie had to do was interact and have fun with us. The whole evening was such a pleasure! We were leaving Phu Quac a few days later and as we passed the massage chairs in the airport I heard someone yell out my name… It was Katie and OK having massages after seeing off some other travelers! She was just as sweet and funny as ever! Katie, OK and Phu Quac will have a place in our hearts forever❤️
We went on the food tour with Katie earlier this week and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The selection of dishes we got to try was exceptional, each one offering a unique taste and experience. Katie was knowledgeable and engaging, providing captivating insights into the history and stories behind each dish and venue. Her enthusiasm and passion for food were infectious, making the tour both educational and entertaining. We also appreciated the small group size, which allowed for a more personalised experience. Overall, it was a delightful culinary adventure, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore the local food scene. Our favourites were the fish hot pot and the coconut ice cream!
Nay was very lovely and took us to some great places to explore new and local foods! Would highly recommend this service to get a taste of Vietnam cuisine!
I tried food I wouldn't have even thought of. The whole experience was great. It was very fun and the food was fantastic. What a treat!!
Wonderful trip!! Katie and her husband have taken us to the best places to eat and we’ve tried so many different foods. Most I wouldn’t have ordinarily tasted so it was great! Loved all the surprises and different places 10/10
Fun tour to have a look at Phu Quoc town and night market if you are staying in a resort and spending most of your time there. Booking was easy with Katie communicating a day before to confirm details. Nay was a friendly guide. There was a stop at a street side grill, banh mi stall, hot pot store and finishing with coconut ice cream. Banh mi was the best, in my opinion
Katie was a very friendly guide! She was very accommodating and I felt very welcomed. She gave a very informative guide to Phu Quoc and introduced us to best of the local cuisine. Throughly enjoyed myself!
Lovely food trip!! Katie’s guidance gave the confidence to try stuff I’d never try including 5 types of snail ! Would recommend
Great tour! They made it very fun and informative. The downtown area was a lot more lively than expected. Would definitely recommend.
Thanks to Katie for the varied experience of Vietnamese cuisine. We had a small group, only 3, including me, but don't let that put you off. Meet new people and sample food you would not eat unless you do this trip. I say sample food, but after 5 stops, 4 of which are food orientated, I couldn't do desert. I chose the 'all food/beverages, well worth it, plenty to satisfy you. I had food I would never have in Australia, but when in Rome, as they say. Try the experience. You will not be disappointed.🇦🇺🖖
Great little tour… temple inclusion not needed on a foodie tour but loved all the food stops. Highly recommend. Plenty of food and great hosts.
Katie was an excellent tour guide! I highly recommend her for all your tours! She is incredibly detailed and organized. She is kind and very good at making it a fun experience! We tried so many new foods and I only wish we had more time to do more tours with her! 5/5 stars!!!!
We really wanted to try local food but it can be quite overwhelming. Thanks to this tour we got a taste of three really local amazing restaurants, night market and ice cream, plus interesting stories about the history and culture of Phu Quoc. Definitely one of our best experiences here! Can’t recommend enough.
Very lucky to Katie as our guide. The vendors we visited were friendly and fun, most importantly the food was fabulous. Katie had a great knowledge of the origins of the food and happily taught us some Vietnamese language. So much fun, would highly recommend Katie
Well that was good! Katie was absolutely delightful and so much fun as well as very knowledgeable about the food we tasted. I highly recommend this tour. You won’t be disappointed…and you won’t go home hungry.
What an amazing tour!!! All the food spots that we went to tasted so amazing. Katie and her husband are so friendly. I recommend booking this food tour!
Katie and her husband did all the best to help us experience the flavours of Phu Quoc, my highlight was the fish hot pot and drinks! Keep going with the good tour.
Katie was great. Helped a couple of us out who were vegans. Food experience was awesome but you need to be adventurous. A little history rolled into the event. The only issue we had was it started to rain extremely hard and we couldn’t finish the tour. Katie offered us another day to finish and called in a ride to take us back to our hotel 20 minutes away. Highly recommend this tour with Katie.
Katie is a lovely guide. She took a few of us to some non-tourist spots to get a more in-depth taste of Vietnam. Started strong with a banh mi, then a meat vendor (which I found more adventurous), then some seafood, followed by some ice cream at the night market. Of course, Katie asks if you have restrictions. It was a very fun night bouncing around the urban area of Phu Quoc.
