My guide, Hac, was excellent. His knowledge of the history and culture of the area was amazing. His English was exemplary. The driver was also good, picking me up at the hotel. The walk up, in places, is challenging. Be prepared to sweat. The sights from top make it worthwhile. The walk back down is much easier and the waterfall is super. You also need good shoes, as the rocks can be quite slippery. I enjoyed the authentic Vietnamese lunch afterwards. A great day.

Had an amazing trek to the high point through the jungle. Really enjoyed the going up. Good pair of trainers with grip is worth wearing. Fabulous view of the island from the top. A gentler descent with plenty of wildlife to see and different trees and plants. Si and Haq speak brilliant English so really felt I learnt a lot about the area, the nature, Phu Quoc and Vietnam. The swim at the waterfall was refreshing and invigorating. We swam at the quieter of the falls so had it to ourselves. Ended the trek with a cold beer before the lunch stop. Delicious Vietnamese pancakes which were made vegetarian for me. If you enjoy walking and nature I would really recommend this trek.
We really enjoyed this tour and highly recommend it! Our guide, Hac, was very friendly and knowledgeable and both him and the driver and herbologist made the car trips very fun. The trek itself was challenging at times but very doable and the view at the top was amazing. Swimming under the water wall was also a highlight and the lunch was incredible!
Here’s a polished TripAdvisor review you can post: If you’re looking for a different side of Phu Quoc beyond the beaches, this hike is well worth doing. I’d describe it as requiring a medium level of fitness, with a few challenging sections, but it’s very achievable if you’re reasonably active. Our tour guide, Hac, was knowledgeable, friendly and made sure everyone in the group was comfortable, regardless of their pace. Hac shared plenty of information along the way and were accommodating to everyone’s needs. The scenery was fantastic, with plenty of great photo opportunities on both the way up and the way down. From forest trails to scenic viewpoints, there was always something worth stopping to take in. If you enjoy nature and want to experience a quieter, more natural side of Phu Quoc, I’d definitely recommend adding this hike to your itinerary.
My partner and I went hiking with the Quang Si team on 16 June, and it was a fantastic experience. Unfortunately, while descending the mountain, my partner experienced some knee pain due to a previous injury, but overall the trip was excellent. Hac and Ty were our guides for the day. Hac speaks English fluently and has an impressive knowledge of the jungle, which made the hike both educational and enjoyable. The tour was originally supposed to have 8–10 participants, but we were lucky that day—it ended up being just the two of us, making it feel like a private tour. The team picked us up from our hotel at 8:50 AM. We then drove to the foot of the mountain, stopping along the way to buy some tropical fruits, including mangosteens and rambutans. The mangosteens were incredibly sweet and delicious. Before the hike, the team provided us with mosquito repellent, sunscreen, a walking stick, and two bottles of water each. If you need more water, they are happy to provide it. Hac also guided us through some warm-up exercises and taught us how to properly ascend and descend using the walking stick. He explained how to reduce the risk of slipping or falling and highlighted things to watch out for on the trail, such as spiders and snakes. As June marks the beginning of the rainy season, we encountered a wide variety of mushrooms along the trail—at least ten different types. We also spotted wildflowers and plenty of spiders, though thankfully no snakes. The ascent was interesting and varied, with a combination of regular trails and ladders of different heights. Along the way, we passed a massive banyan tree, a shrine, and several unique rock formations. Reaching the summit was the highlight of the trip. The view was absolutely stunning. From the top, you can see a large portion of Phu Quoc Island, including the old airport, planes taking off and landing, the new airport under construction, the skyline, and even some distant islands. It was truly a picturesque panorama. The descent was a bit more challenging for my partner because of his knee condition. The route was longer, which placed more pressure on his knees. We were originally supposed to swim at Tranh Stream Waterfall, but we decided to skip it. Nevertheless, the stream looked beautiful, with clear water and small fish visible along the way. Tranh Stream is part of a tourist attraction, so the deeper you go into the area, the more visitors you will encounter, many of whom come for picnics. Overall, it was not overly crowded or noisy, and the stream is long enough to find quieter spots. There are also some fun animal statues scattered throughout the grounds. Near the exit of the stream area, there is a restaurant for anyone who wants a meal after the hike, although we did not have the chance to try it. What impressed us most was how flexible and caring the Quang Si team was. Since we skipped part of the itinerary, they voluntarily deducted some money from the tour cost and drove us back to our hotel. After the trip, Si even sent me a message to check on my partner's knee condition. That thoughtful gesture really showed how much he cares about his guests. I would definitely book another tour with Quang Si in the future—perhaps the night wildlife tour, as I would love to see more animals, insects, mushrooms, and wildflowers in their natural habitat. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic hiking experience in Phu Quoc! P/S1: Coincidentally, our snorkeling guide, Windy, turned out to be a friend of Si as well. When I mentioned that we had joined a hiking tour with Quang Si, he immediately recognized him and told us that Si is quite famous for his hiking tours in Phu Quoc! It was a funny and pleasant surprise, and it seems Si has built a great reputation among both locals and visitors alike. P/S2: Hope to see Si in real life
Guide Hac was a really good guide in leading us up the Mt. Along the way, he explained about the trail and the sights along the way. Always ready with answers to all our questions. What an environmentalist he is, telling us conservation and importance of keeping the forest as it is. We've full of admiration for his spirit. Highly recommended.
Amazing experience and a must do while you’re in Phu Quoc if you’re up for the challenge! Was picked up straight from my hotel. Tour guide was very knowledgeable of local wildlife and nature. Beautiful views at the top and got to see some (slightly scary) animals in the cave. Exhausted by the end of it, but worth it!
We had a great day trekking, the guides Si and Den were terrific, highly recommended
If you are looking for great guides on Phu Quoc I highly recommend Si and Den!!! They have a great sense of humor and are both very knowledgeable and passionate about wildlife. I especially recommend them to biologists or anyone with an interest in ecology. They knew the scientific names to all the plants and animals we saw and pointed out all the edible/medicinal plants. I initially booked the herping tour my second night in Phu Quoc and loved it so much I went on two more tours with them around the island! All the trails/locations they chose were beautiful and I loved snacking on the native edible plants as we hiked. Si specially planned an adventurous route for the Tien Son Dinh trek that included fun obstacles like climbing a banyan tree and sliding back down a tree like a fireman’s pole, which made the trek even more fun and exciting!! Den is also an AMAZING photographer and helped me get the best possible photos of the local wildlife we saw. They took great care to provide delicious Vietnamese food and fresh fruits on each tour. They taught me so much about Vietnamese culture, cuisine and wildlife. You can tell how much Si and Den love their island and they made it feel like home to me too. I even ended up extending my stay just explore more of Phu Quoc and still wish I had stayed longer. They are such kind and genuine people and I truly enjoyed spending time with them! Their tours were the highlight of my time in Phu Quoc and will be yours too!!
If you are young (under 30) and generally an active person, you will enjoy this hike. If you are hitting or have reached middle age, you will enjoy this activity if you maintain something of an active lifestyle. Si and Dan were excellent guides on our trek through the forest. The main issue is, is that difficulty is relative to the individual. Even though the description says "all ages" I would not recommend this hike to a person who does not regularly hike or keep an active lifestyle. Personally, I enjoyed most of the jaunt, though got tired at the end with the large-ish stones on the path hurting my tired feet. In addition, there are several extremely steep sections of the hike, some spots where the ground is quite loose and other sections are that are pretty much vertical. As long as you believe in yourself, you can do it 🤣 Overall I recommend this tour, though it is not for everyone. The banh xeo at the end was delicious
Excellent experience with a knowledgeable team. A moderate fitness level is a must to enjoy it fully.
It was a great experience. The guide was super informative. The trek was easy with some climbing. Waterfall at the end is refreshing. Must dip in water. It’s a little slippery so be careful.
This was a very good hike for getting a good workout and experiencing the inner density and beauty of the diversity in the jungle. The guides were excellent and very informative on their craft .
This tour gets you in touch with the raw nature of Phú Quốc island. Do yourself a favor, take a break from Sunset Town and 5 star resorts. Experience the nature while it lasts. Great for folks who love nature, science and a recently strenuous hike. Si's company does an excellent job with logistics. Communication via WhatsApp, coordinating pick-up and drop-off, and providing gear (including mosquito repellent). They provided separate guides for various routes and difficulties. They adapted as the group needs changed. We were in a very intimate group of 4 (2 couples). The price includes fruits for snacking and pics on the peak, water, gear (pack, trekking poles), lunch afterwards, even a beer with lunch. As usual, the guide makes or breaks the tour. Our guide, Đen, was a rock star. Along the way, he taught us all about the plants, animals, fungi of the jungle. How they live, propagate, and what they're used for. We got to try wild mangosteen! We signed up for the more difficult route. He set a great pace for us to keep up, plotted routes for ease of tackling obstacles and even jumped to the rescue whenever anyone slipped. My dude even had the ointment ready to rub on my wife's knee when she slipped. Good as new. A note of caution: it can be hot and humid, you will be climbing up to a peak of 280 meters vertical, a good part of the trail can be pretty overgrown. Nature isn't at our beck and call. We didn't see monkeys. But reviews did show other people in February did.
This was a wonderful trek, we saw lots of native plants, animals, seeing the green horned viper was especially amazing! Thankfully, we did this trek during the dry season and it made the journey much easier. Our guides Si and Dan were super experienced and attentive. I especially enjoyed the cut fruit prepared at the peak viewpoint. Amazing!!!
Well organised, very knowledgeable guides, I learnt more about the rainforest flora and local traditions than expected. The hike involved a few steep uphill steps and ladders, but guides were safety conscious and I always felt in good hands. Highlights included seeing chameleons, a beautiful snake the biologist-guide gently took care of by carefully removing parasites, and sighting a family of monkeys. And learning about the varied plant use .
We had an amazing experience hiking in the tropical forest to the top of Tien Son Dinh mountain overlooking Phu Quoc. We learned a great deal from the guides and enjoyed being away from the hustle and bustle of the capital. The guides were knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. Hac, in charge of our hiking group, speaks good English and Den is a trained biologist who pointed out a lot of remarkable facts about animals and plants in the forest. We are in our 50s, not in a great shape, and we thought the difficulty was about medium. The whole experience is highly recommended.
Si, the guide, took the effort to guide us as a family, since the group of that day was quiet large. Very nice tour through jungle, also good for our 7 year-old. Everybody enjoyed during this physically challenging activity.
I would like to sincerely thank you for such a wonderful jungle trekking experience. The trek was incredibly interesting, with a well-planned and scenic route that allowed us to truly enjoy the beauty of the jungle. The guides were excellent — professional, attentive, and passionate about what they do, which made the experience even more special. Thank you as well for the delicious lunch and for creating such an engaging and memorable route. Everything was thoughtfully organized, and it was a real pleasure to be part of this adventure. Wishing you continued success, and thank you again for sharing such an amazing experience. ♥️
Great experience, 2 very knowledgeable guides. They explained the characteristucs of all the plants , trees and wildlife, the trek was challenging but fun. The views at the top spectacular. We had a great lunch and the guides ensured we were safe and looked after the whole day. If you are feeling adventurous its a MUST!
Si and the other guide were absolutely incredible. This hiking tour is totally recommended, one of the best experiences on the island. It’s a truly unique and completely safe adventure — the guides carefully check that the route is safe and adapt the difficulty perfectly to the group. It’s a very complete tour and absolutely worth it. The snack and the meal were delicious as well. I will definitely come back!
Such a great experience and our guides Si and Dan were amazing. They were so knowledgeable and found a range of wildlife they pointed out to us along the way, including bats, frogs, snakes and a turtle. Its not a simple hike but we had different levels of fitness in our group and we all made it to the end with smiles on our faces. Lunch was also great and they even catered for our diverse food intolerances. The first section is open to others but then they took us away from the tourist track. I definitely recommend it if you want to get off the standard track and actually experience some of the beautiful jungle area.
My mom and I had a great time! The hike was sometimes challenging, it’s definitely not a leisurely walk, but Si and Dan were amazing guides and helped make this a great experience - they are really knowledgeable about the area and we felt very safe with them. The nature is SO beautiful and we also got to see some gorgeous views and hidden spots, and challenge ourselves. Highly recommended!
It was a great experience. Si and rest of the staff effort to make sure we had a wonderful experience. It was a very interesting trekking through de Phu Quoc forest, finishing with a reparing bath in the waterfall. and lunch together. We felt safe and confortable all the time. I recommend it with any doubt.
We had a fantastic experience trekking Tien Son Dinh as a family. It struck a great balance between a real jungle adventure and something that was still very manageable with kids. The scenery was beautiful, with dense forest, streams and plenty to explore along the way. The highlight for all of us was discovering the secret bat cave and spotting wildlife in its natural habitat — it felt like a proper adventure rather than a tourist attraction. The pace was relaxed, with regular stops, and we never felt rushed. A really authentic way to experience the natural side of Phu Quoc and make some memorable family moments. Highly recommended.
Si and Dan we both great trek leaders. Very knowledgeable in the local wildlife and respectful of the environment. The trek was ~10Km, and round 500m of elevation in total . The fist 2 km was quite steep by the group of 8 we were in were of mixed aged / capability and everyone managed it
Si was an amazing tour guide. He was very informative & his English is excellent. As a bonus he’s very humorous. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone in Phu Quoc
Had an amazing few hours in a small international group of us trekking Tien Son Dinh. Si was an amazing tour guide and really made sure we all got a lot out of it. He had such a wisdom of the jungle and could see everything that was happening - plus he had a great sense of humour that we all really enjoyed. It wasn't the easiest of treks, but I know Si can adapt the route for most people - but I enjoyed some of the challenges he gave us and it really pushed me out of my compfort zone. Thank you
It was an incredibly fun adventure! We saw many animals and the guides were really kind and informative (as well as amazing photographers 😍). I would definitely do it again and I highly recommend the experience
What a great day. The trekking and learning about the vegetation and animals was lovely. Great pace, beautiful views at the top. The bay cave is unreal. You do have to squat low for a short distance to enter so if you have knee or hip issues this may be a challenge. Once inside you can fully stand up. The waterfall was beautiful and refreshing. Lunch was tasty as well. The guides were lovely. Highly recommend
Love the tour Si, it was really amazing and fun, met a bunch of new people, cracked a lot of jokes, did a lot of sweating and then cooling down at the waterfall. Looking to do this probably when it rains to see the water fall at it best.
Si is such a pleasure to be around! He made our trek fun and engaging, stopping often to point out flora and fauna (and giving us plenty of opportunities to catch our breath). He had backpacks, trekking poles, water and snacks ready for us, and made sure we got ample time to relax and enjoy the view both at the top of the hill and at the waterfall. Great food and great pics were the cherry on top. The path is at times steep and a bit slippery, but overall very doable - and the pace is quite chill. Thanks Si for a lovely day out!
Had a great day out. The trek was brilliant-some very steep bits but worth it when we got to the waterfall. Si was a great guide-told us lots of information about the wildlife and vegetation. He also took photos for us at the waterfall. Lunch was great- a traditional pancake dish. I would really recommend this trip as nice to feel active on holiday!
If you visit Phu Quoc, don’t miss a private jungle tour with Si, it’s far more than just a walk in nature. It’s a deep, soulful journey guided by someone who truly understands this land. Si’s knowledge is exceptional, he speaks with passion about the jungle’s flora and fauna, but also about Vietnam’s history, culture, and spirit. Every step feels like opening a new chapter of a living story. Surrounded by the hum of cicadas, the dense emerald canopy, and the earthy scent of the rainforest, you feel both humbled and alive. Even encounters with snakes, tarantulas, or centipedes become moments of awe rather than fear, Si’s calm confidence makes you feel completely safe. The cave exploration was pure magic , mysterious, echoing with the wings of bats, and filled with hidden life waiting to be discovered. And when you finish, the home-cooked meal shared in nature is the perfect closing note to an extraordinary day. I left not just with photos, but with a genuine sense of connection to the island, to the wild, and to the people who call it home. Thank you, Si, for this unforgettable experience. 🙏
I had a wonderful hike and swim on this fantastic tour. I went solo and Si clearly communicated with me and kept me updated a day before on all my questions. I had Hac as my guide and he was so informative and wonderful. He had such a positive energy and he truly loved hiking. It was challenging but as a group we got through. We had people from all fitness levels and ages so it’s definitely doable for anyone. The ending was magical at a waterfall with the option to go for a dip or just put your feet in and take it all in. This was one of my favourite tours in Vietnam.
This was one of the coolest experiences we’ve had on phu quoc (or rather in Vietnam in general). The hike was moderate in difficulty and even in (really) rainy conditions it was manageable. Really anyone could do it. If it’s raining take some proper, proper shoes ;)! The jungle was amazing and our guide -Hạc- knew absolutely everything about every plant, from some of the biggest and most impressive trees we had ever seen to even the smallest flowers and weeds. We got to experience the jungle that looked as if no human had ever stepped there before, truly breathtaking. Hạc had so many funny anecdotes that really made this whole experience feel like a hike with a friend! To say the guys at the company are helpful would be an understatement of the year as everything was well- organised and taken care of. If you come in wet season, brace yourself for swimming in a tropical waterfall, amazing stuff all around, really. Hạc spoke perfect English and we understood 100% of the things he was saying. Do yourself a favour and book this hike right away!!!!!!! Ps The food, oh the food, we already miss it!
The trek was easily the highlight of our trip in Phu Quoc. My husband and I enjoyed the trek with Hac who took great care of us and ensured we are safe and comfortable with the pace. The trek was moderately difficult but be rewarded with the magnificent view at the top! Highly recommended :)
Our family of three, including our adult son, had a wonderful time on this trek! The hike was moderate in difficulty. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, with lush landscapes and stunning views throughout the trail. Our guide, Si, made the experience truly special. He was knowledgeable and shared fascinating insights about the history, local plants, animals, and culture, which added so much depth to the journey. The highlight was definitely the waterfall—peaceful, refreshing, and picture-perfect! We also really appreciated the thoughtful touches, like the provided backpacks, water, and hiking sticks. The assistant Lam helped take quite a few photos too. Their attention to detail and warm hospitality truly stood out. Highly recommend this trek, especially with such a fantastic guide!
Hac our tour guide was excellent. He was very knowledgeable about nature and enjoyed talking to us about his culture and experiences. The hike itself was beautiful, with a refreshing waterfall to top it all off. The Banh Xeo for lunch was also delicious, especially after having worked hard for the calories. Can recommend this to anyone who wants to hike or experience nature with stunning peak views. Dont listen to those who say "you can do it yourself it's not worth the money". This is the jungle! There are poisonous vipers, and poisonous trees everywhere. Luckily Hac grew up in the jungle and knew how to identify the dangers and show us hidden beauty.
Sí was an amazing and knowledgeable guide! We enjoyed the adventurous trek, where he brought us off the beaten path and via his well-researched and challenging (in a good way!) route. He shared so much with us, and we really enjoyed our chats in the way up and down. Sí felt like an old friend and we highly recommend his trekking adventure for anyone up for one!
A thrilling experience really well organised. We booked only a day before the tour but the operator was super efficient in organising a pick up from our hotel and making sure everything was on time. Special thanks to our guide Hac who knew every part of the mountain and kept us informed and safe. It was an amazing climb up to the top with difficult terrain at times but the view was worth it. Cooling off on the waterfall after was so refreshing. Many thanks again.
Our trek to Tien Son Dinh in Phu Quoc was nothing short of incredible! Despite the rain, or maybe even because of it, the entire experience felt like a true adventure straight out of a travel documentary. The trail was lush, wild, and beautifully alive with the sounds of nature. The rain added an extra layer of magic—mist rolling through the trees, the smell of wet earth, and cool air that made the hike feel refreshing rather than exhausting. The path was moderately challenging with a good mix of slopes, muddy patches, and dense forest, which made it fun for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. Reaching the summit was a rewarding moment—though foggy, the view and the feeling of being up there was unforgettable. We laughed, slipped, helped each other along, and just truly immersed ourselves in the journey. If you’re looking for something off the beaten path in Phu Quoc, Tien Son Dinh trek is a must-do—especially if you don’t mind a bit of mud and rain! 🌧️🥾🌿 Highly recommended for anyone who loves the outdoors and wants to experience the raw beauty of Phu Quoc beyond its beaches.
Ask for HOC and dont even think twice ! The man is a legend, has a really good english and a lot of knowledge about the area and about vietnam in general. Also a really great person just to talk to and will do beyond for you! Also knows how to take good pictures! Thanks again bro!
The hiking experience was like a pearl of the trip in Phu Quoc. Si was our guide for the hiking and I can’t express how much I appreciate his work. Si can not only speak perfect English but also show excellent knowledge about the mountain. He led the road for the group and discovered all tiny details like sting-less bees and trimeresurus cardamomensis that are easily neglected if you are unfamiliar with how to spot them in jungles. The ocean and beach are not the only thing will impress you in Phu Quoc. The mountains here will too. If you are a nature person like me, you’d def love to see what I’ve seen on this trip.
Great tour if you like physical challenges. Definitely something different to do and you have an amazing view once you reach the top. Had a great lunch afterwards. Thank you Si for the great experience!
The hike was hard but a good work out. HAC was awesome. The views were amazing and the overall experience was worth the money.
This was such an amazing tour. Hac was very professional and showed us a lot of special places, plants and animals. It was a great experience and a good mixture of hiking & learning about the culture and nature. We absolutely recommend this trip.
Perfect hike, absolutely wonderful guide! Took greate care of our children (11 & 13), involved them in fun ways to keep them motived and had impressive knowledge of the nature which he shared with us in very good english.
Si was knowledgeable, welcoming and fun to spend time with. The trek more than met our expectations - we got to see the rainforest and learn more as well as feeling challenged physically. Highly recommended!
The trail spans over 6 kilometers, ascending to 280 meters, offering a moderate challenge suitable for most hikers. Our guide was exceptionally knowledgeable, sharing insights into the diverse tropical flora and their significance in local daily life. Reaching the summit rewarded us with breathtaking panoramic views of the island. The entire experience was well-organized, informative, and truly enriching. I highly recommend this tour to nature enthusiasts seeking an authentic adventure in Phu Quoc.
