Where do I start? Thong was absolutely sensational! From the moment we met him, his warmth, genuine personality and passion for Phu Quoc were so evident. This isn’t just a food tour; it’s an opportunity to experience the heart and soul of Phu Quoc through the eyes of someone who truly loves his hometown. Our experience began with a traditional Vietnamese bánh mì pork roll from one of the most popular spots in Phu Quoc. Locals queue for over 30 minutes at breakfast just to get their hands on one of these incredible rolls, and after tasting it, we completely understood why! From there, we wandered through the bustling wet market, where Thong shared his knowledge of the incredible variety of fresh seafood, tropical fruits and vegetables. It was fascinating, informative and a wonderful insight into everyday life on the island. Our next stop was a lovely coffee house, where we could enjoy coffee, tea or ice cream while having a relaxed chat with Thong. This was one of my favourite parts of the tour. He openly shared stories about his life, his family and what it’s really like living in Phu Quoc. His love for his home and the pride he takes in what he has accomplished are genuinely inspiring. And he has every reason to be proud! At this point, I thought the tour was coming to an end. But no, Thong had more in store for us! We headed to an amazing seafood restaurant that was absolutely buzzing! The atmosphere was fantastic, and watching the staff work together so seamlessly was like watching a well-oiled machine. The food and the entire experience were wonderful. But what happened next made this tour something I will never forget. It happened to be my birthday, and Thong went above and beyond to make me feel special. His lovely wife stopped by to say hello and brought me a birthday cake. Before I knew it, the entire restaurant was singing Happy Birthday to me! What an incredibly thoughtful and generous gesture. I was genuinely touched. To be welcomed and celebrated like that, so far from home, made my birthday truly memorable. ❤️ Thong, thank you for sharing your beautiful island, your stories, your passion and your kindness with us. You didn’t just show us where to eat; you gave us a genuine connection to Phu Quoc and its people. If you’re visiting Phu Quoc and considering a walking food tour, look no further. Book with Thong! Come hungry, bring your curiosity and be prepared for an experience that offers so much more than just incredible food. We cannot recommend Thong highly enough. An absolute highlight of our time in Vietnam! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I can’t thanks Jack enough for the tour this evening. A wonderful human and his tour was amazing culture experience mixed with his interesting conversations. 10/10 experience
Great tour. Funny, engaging and entertaining guide (Thong). More food than we could eat and really fun to be driven around in a jeep and see the food market.
Excellent food tour, enthusiastic guide Thong! Great local knowledge.
Being our first time to Phu Quoc and Vietnam, and in our first days on the island, this tour with Jack was great. Well worth it, and Jack is a great host. Also, the army jeep is a nice touch for transportation. Many thanks to Jack for a great evening.
Jack was a great guide who was patient with our kids and older grandparent. Took us to lots of good food options and helped us try things.
We had a unique experience from the start, being picked up in a "classic Toyota van 1987", my four friends and I explored Duong Dong with Tong, learning about the history of Phu quoc, eating tasty food and drinking too much beer!!
We were given a wide range of food and drinks, all of them delicious. Our tour guide, Andy, was very knowledgeable and talked us through the local area. It was also great to get to know him on a personal level, very kind, happy and considerate man. Would use this company again, very easy 5 stars!
Our tour guide Andy was very pleasant. All the food we ate was very good but we were a little disappointed to only walk through the night market without sampling any of the food or drinks on offer. We did, however, stop for barbecued chicken on the roadside, visit a pancake restaurant and a local restaurant serving noodles and seafood all of which was delicious.
Our guide, Andy, was very knowledgeable and accommodating for our family (including seniors and kids), and the tour was a great way to start our trip to Phu Quoc with a good mix of food culture and local history.
The best food tour we have ever done. Our driver Thong was great and alot of fun. He picked us up at our hotel and took us to the central part of Phu Quoc. We went to local markets. He told switch alot about the island and culture. We ate at several different location and even had a few beers. The old military Jeep was such fun way to tour around. Definitely will not go hungry on this tour.
You can’t visit this island without a trip with Thomas or one of his guides. I visited Phu Quoc 6 years ago and did a few trips with Thomas. My partner and I went back now and decided to reconnect with him. So glad I did! We enjoyed this first tour (his Foodie trip with local highlights as well) SO much that we managed to book him in again for 2 days later. For a visit to the Pepper farm and then the best fish dinner at the fishing village. He timed it so that we made it for sunset, birthday dinner on the water. Perfection. It’s authentic, fun, and to my mind, a trip to magnificent Phu Quoc is incomplete without (at least 1) tour with Thomas.
This was hands down such a fun way to explore the local food and see the sights in Phu Quoc! Tour tan for 4 hours, we walked through the local seafood market which we never would have done on our own, we stopped at a local temple, and the amount of drink and food you get on this tour was plentiful and delicious. Definitely don’t have anything to eat before you go on this tour! Thong our tour guide was fantastic, he was knowledgeable, funny, and mindful of our dietary needs. I would highly recommend for any foodie or anyone that just wants a fun outing to do this tour. I didn’t know this company did other tours around Phu Quoc which we could have taken up but time for us on the island was quite limited, so really happy we did this one.
Thong was such a fantastic guide and catered the experience for me perfectly! The food was delicious, coffee was even better and Thong was very lively and knowledgeable about the island.
I have gone on a few tours of Phu Quoc with various operators, and this is by far the best. The guides are knowledgeable and are truly interested in showing you their island while making sure you have fun. Probably a good idea to not have a big lunch because there is so much delicious food.
This guided tour by Thong was amazing! It was so much fun cruising around in his old army Jeep checking out the local sites. Thong's English was excellent as was his knowledge about the history, culture and food of Phu Quoc was second to none. Loved his personality and the food choices he made, as the food we ate was absolutely superb!!
We had a wonderful trip with Tung from Phu Quoc Jeep Tours in his old US Army Jeep. He took us around the local fish market and the harbour area where we had a lovely BBQ meal at Sunset. We then went around the large Night Market before returning to the Jeep and ‘switching on the air conditioning’ by removing the Jeep canvas roof! Tung is an excellent, friendly and knowledgeable guide with a great sense of humour and his trips are highly recommended
Great trip, there was just way too much food. Because I was the only person on the tour, we did it all on motorbike, so perhaps it wouldn't have been so bad walking between food items. Great to watch the sunset with a beer and scallops then see the craziness of the night market.
Fantastic tour, really great friendly and knowledgeable. Wonderful food. A great way to see the city.
Excellent personal service and food! The guide picked us up in a retro jeep and took us all around Nha Trang. I told him my favorite type of food including seafood and even fruits, and he took me to the best restaurants/markets in town with the best prices and quality
Absolutely fantastic tour. Guide was extremely friendly and brought me to some very interesting places. Had soup in a place completely off the tourist path. If you’re a foodie and want something different then don’t miss out on this!
Very exiting, great opportunity to see the real life on the island, try traditional food etc. Recommended :)
We went on this tour on our 2nd night in Phu Quoc. Our assigned guide - Lunh was punctual in picking us up & was a true & honest gentleman! We appreciate that we got to ride on a US Military jeep. The experience was indeed memorable. Through this tour we got to taste many delicious fresh seafood, local street food & also had very delicious Hanoi style pho. Not forgetting Bia Bivina & Saigon! We also bought back some local dry food for cooking back home. We are glad we picked Viator for this tour!
This is a great tour. Thong knows the best places to go for authentic local food. There’s plenty of it, so In between courses as you drive around, he fills you in on the history and culture of Phu Quoc island and Vietnam, giving you a chance to digest before the next place. Highly recommended.
we had the best evening with our guide Thomas. He is just a great guy, very nice and very interesting. We ate food we never tasted bevor and would have never found without him, especially the scallops were tremendous. we walked around the night market ate and drank until we were more than full. highly recommended.
I had an amazing time with the tour guide. He was very informative and took us to the best places to eat where all the locals go to
What an incredible tour. Tons of delicious food (to the point we were beyond stuffed) beers and exploring Phu Quoc. My wife and I had a great time and really appreciated above the incredible food, help navigating the night market and getting to know the Culture of Phu Quoc through the food.10/10 would recommend this tour. Come hungry! Thanks Tom!
Tom was very hospitable and informative. He brought us to local spots and nooks that we cannot google for it. He was very friendly and has a good command of the English language. Love his vintage jeep as well! Overall a great ride and tour!
My partner and I had a great experience doing this food tour. Thong was incredibly friendly, funny and easy to talk to. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants a really unique experience and loves to eat great food.
We had a great night with Thong driving around in the jeep and tasting some local foods, seeing many sights and having a fun time. He even let me drive the jeep for a little bit at the end. We had a great night!
Thong (Thomas) was energetic and very knowledgeable. We had a great night seeing the town and trying many local foods. Definitely recommend booking this!
This was an awesome experience. Thong was my guide and he really made me feel at home here. And the food was sooooo good. 10/10 would recommend
OMG The absolute best, most fun and unforgettable experience!! Thong is an absolute superstar!!!! From pick up at the hotel, until drop off back at the hotel the whole trip and experience was amazing. Thong is such an amazing host and so much fun! You will have the best experience. We had a Vietnamese coffee in a local Cafe, with the locals, we tried Rambutan fruit, (delicious, similar to Lychee), saw some amazing scenery and went to the most beautiful places Dinh Cau at sunset was beautiful. The night markets were amazing... (no spoilers, but the seafood in the tanks are a sight to behold!)... Ate local food, with the locals and learned the traditional Viernamese Toast over a beer!! (Viet beer is so good!) 👌🏻 Then more food (and drinks) on the way home.... The "Special" from one of the local restaurants was quite unforgettable!! 🤣 But absolutely worth trying.... every place we went to the quality of the food and drinks were exceptional. No bad stomachs on this tour for my wife and I, honestly. Then the drive home was great fun. The tour has honestly made us want to go back to Vietnam and specifically to Phu Quoc again soon, even if it is just to do this tour again... It rained while we were there. It rained during the the tour.... and the way Thong handled everything just made it so much more fun.... If you go to Phu Quoc... you HAVE to do this tour... if I could give it 10 stars out of 5 I would!!!! 😎
My husband and I had a great time on this tour guided by Tong in a American old style jeep. He was very entertaining and gave us an insight on Phu Quoc. We went to Long Beach, then had Vietnamese coffee local style, then headed to Dinh Cau temple to watch the amazing sunset whilst all the fishing trawlers were heading back. Then we tried Vietnamese beer with the locals and tried some of Vietnamese beer snacks. Then we headed into Cho Dem night market. Where you can do some shopping or more eating. We were in Vietnam during the start of the rainy season but despite the rain on this tour we had an amazing and fun time with Tong. I can highly recommend this tour if you want to see Phu Quoc in something fun and wild.
Our tour guide Thông did a wonderful job by taking us on his army jeep ride to the day/night market. We walked through the market where they sell fresh fruites/vegetables and seafood and experience how mortorbikers shopped through the market. First time trying fresh Durian fruit and it was delicious, you must try it too! We also stopped at the Dinh Cau Temple and ate some delicious fresh seafood on the beach with some locals. Thông also did a great job sharing stories about Phu Quoc! Make sure to bring a big shopping bag for fruites and trinkets and other shopping items.
We had a fabulous tour and Tom was a fantastic guide. He shared lots of stories and insight into the Phu Quoc area and the food was delicious!
We did 2 tours with Tom and his crew, both fabulous! The city tour was in the late afternoon, we saw all the sights of duong Dong town including the beach by sunset, the historic temple and the night market. Tom took us to some great restaurants to sample some phu quoc cuisine, both on the tourist trail and off the beaten track. It is a must do if you want an overview and great night out (lots of beer!). We also did the north tour which was another great day where you have coffee by the water and overlook the border with Cambodia before stopping by the floating village for lunch. Bring your bathers as the water is a treat then spend the afternoon lazing and eating! Thanks for a great tour Tom and team!
Es war ein super schöner Abend. Es war eine private Tour zu zweit mit einem sehr netten Guide, der auf unsere Wünsche bzgl des Essens eingegangen ist. :)
