I did the tour with Mon, amazing guide, I really recommend it
Mon and the Silk Island experience was outstanding. From our greeting at the ferry - Mon was “on fire”. We enjoyed the small group and the insights Mon shared as a local resident. The markets, the Silk factory and the local food were terrific - even had time for a beer. The format and bicycle enabled us to enjoy the local tempo yet keep moving. Excellent way to spend a morning with Mon. Go well! Ed & Barb
A unique experience in Phnom Penh, which gets you outside and beyond the touristic spots in the center of the city. It is a full, busy, active half-day experience, with lots of bike riding through farmlands of Silk Island, and multiple stops. Our guide, Presey, was exceptional!
We had an awesome time! Cycled around the island and stopped at places to learn from and talk to the locals about life on the island. Highlights were the Silk Island Community and lunch on the floating restaurant. Our guide Mon was so good and so helpful. Defs recommend if you are in Phnom Penh.
Our tour guide Mon was so awesome and made us feel welcome. We rode bikes through the streets of Silk Island and seeing the markets, and saw the country side where we visited farms. And finally our time at the silk island facility was really eye opening. We got to speak with the workers and touched the silk cocoons. So far this has been one of my favorite tours and experiences in Phnom Penh area. I would really recommend.
It was very hot and expect very level but long bike ride. Over 1 1/2 hours. So be prepared apart from that the guide was amazing and friendly and the lunch at the floating restaurant on the Mekong was delicious plus the chill for 15 mins on the hammocks over the river before lunch was nice.
A really fun time out with guide Mon. Great local knowledge, very easy to get along with and he made it an all round interesting and fun tour. A bottle of water is supplied but if you run out there are plenty of roadside stalls where you can stop and buy yourself another bottle if required. Floating restaurant towards the end of the tour was excellent, authentic and not the usual touristy clap trap. Food spot on too.
Very nice day out of town riding around 2 islands visiting monesteries, silk farm and a great lunch on a floating restaurant. Thong speaks English well and has e-bikes if needed.
I had a great day out and Sam is a brilliant guide, very welcoming and friendly. The lunch is delicious at a beautiful spot by the river where you can laze in a hammock after the bike ride!
I had a wonderful morning with Mon cycling around Silk and Mekong islands. He provided a lot of information about the local plants and people. The tour of the silk making facility was very interesting and there was no pressure at all to buy the products. Ended with a nice lunch overlooking the river. Mon was so kind and kept the biking at a nice pace but not too fast. Felt very safe at all times. Highly recommended if you have some basic biking skills.
It was an amazing tour with so many vool spots. Every spot had a story told by our very friendly guide Mon. The tour was not too long and used a perfect amount of time. The silk farm was very cool to see and buy from
Sam is a fantastic guide! Such a funny, friendly, knowledgeable person who was passionate about what he does! We really got a feel of the local Cambodian life! We had a delicious lunch in a floating restaurant! Highly recommend this experience and make sure you get Sam as your guide 🙌 Thank you so much ☺️
Our tour guide Sam was an absolute top fella, with a huge amount of knowledge at every step along the tour. His English was great which was very helpful as our Cambodian is non existent. 10/10 would recommend Sam to anyone.
Super fun! You do require some cycling skill - and endurance. It’s a long journey, so heads up on that
Overall very good half day spent in rural side of Phnom Penh. The guide who companied us took well care of us, ensuring safe cycle, with ample spots in between to relax and to learn about the village life & customs.
The trip was well organized from start to finish. We’ve been on several tours in Cambodia, and Sam was truly one of the best guides we’ve had. His upbeat energy and Cambodian jokes were a highlight! He’s genuinely passionate about sharing his love for his country and its culture. We would definitely recommend this tour—especially with Sam as your guide.
Sam was an excellent guide. Easy pick up from hotel and journey to the start of our biking adventure. Excellent e-bikes and helmets with seats already adjusted to our heights which was much appreciated. Fabulous tour around the two islands which gave us a real feel for local Cambodian life. And finished off with a delicious lunch in a local restaurant on the river. For me it has been the highlight of my Phnom Penh stay. Thanks Sam!!!
Great experience of local life in the village with Mon as the tour guide who shared a lot. Thanks also to the skillful Tuk Tuk driver for a smooth ride🙏👏👍
Mostly gentle cycling tour was good fun and we saw lots of the life of people living just outside Phnom Penh. Silk farm was interesting and more than just a brief intro to a shopping opportunity (though shop was also good!). Tofu skin place was eye-opening, and food at floating restaurant with hammocks was fun. Easygoing and informative guide.
Mon is wonderful, excellent English, very helpful. it is a great trip silk worms & weaving , temples, Buddhas, tofu, delicious lunch.
We spend a splendid day with Nuth on the bike. He explained us lots of interesting insights in a perfect English. The bikes were in great shape, so we didn't realize the 22km at all :) We are very happy that we booked this tour with Nuth - thx again !
We had a great morning out with Mon. We were picked up in a tuk tuk and heard stories of the city on the way to the ferry. Good quality bikes and helmets were provided, with the option for an e-bike ($15). The riding was all flat and very achievable by anyone who can ride a bike. There’s frequent stops and a lovely lunch on the river at the end. Great break from city life and an insight into village life from morning markets to local industries. It was interesting to see how silk is made with traditional techniques. Take some small notes with you - there’s options to leave tips for villagers along the way (but not required).
We were met by our lovely guide on time. He was kind, knowledgeable and attentive. Nice to see how people in rural area live. We learnt a lot. Had a lovely lunch at the end.
We loved this trip! The cycling was gentle and mostly shaded. It was a relaxing ride through friendly villages, with interesting stops along the way. Lunch was at a unique floating restaurant and the food was fantastic. Our guide was so friendly and fun to ride with. Highly recommended tip :)
Nice view into rural life, producing silk. Easy biking without Hills and away from the city crowds and trafic
I was part of a group of three on the trip. It was hot and humid but the guide made sure we were all looked after. 20 kilometres included a silk producing centre, a soya factory and the giant reclining Buddha. The guide knew the area intimately and showed us fruit and crops as we went through rural areas. We ate very well near the conclusion in a riverside dining area. I would recommend this activity to anyone happy with cycling, and there is an option for electric bikes as well.
Had a great experience with a small group of 4 plus our guide. Hotel pickup was on time, and the transportation to the ferry was easy. The bikes we were using were excellent and our guide offered cold water throughout the trip. The roads were flat and easy to navigate, and it was nice exploring the island and its attractions. Lunch was very nice, and transportation back to our pickup spot was uneventful. A great, well-organised experience with no surprises- highly recommend!
I had a great morning with my guide Sey! Everything was timely and smooth and it was a great way to spend part of the day. Really interesting and peaceful compared to the city. It was also insightful culturally with a lot of local flavor. Highly recommend!
Pisey, or Sey as he called himself was a fantastic guide. He grew up on Silk Island & stopped at all the random fruit trees I showed interest in along the route. We stopped at a tree filled with tiny red fruits that were so sweet. when I asked why nobody picked the fruit He said the tree was “for children”-they leave it for the kids to climb and pick and eat. We stopped and got a snack of grilled banana with coconut meat & milk and a wrapped grilled banana with sticky rice that was my favorite. The trail is about 60% sunny and 40% shade. Definitely wear sunscreen and a hat. I got the E bike because it was so hot but the ride is flat and easy & I could have easily done it on a regular bike if it were a bit cooler. Sey’s english is good. He learned English at a monastery & was happy to share stories about monk life.
Want some peace and serenity? Away from traffic and noise? Want to learn about everyday Cambodians, what they grow, how silk and tofu are made? I cannot recommend this enough. My guide 'SEY' was knowledgeable, passionate and honest. Truly delightful. Restaurant location and food also 💯 Advice: wear a hat, suncream, and be ready to wave to lots of excited children!
We had an amazing day with Thong & Mon as our guides, we were picked up from hotel, then ferried across to Silk Island. Thong & Mon were very informative and funny, the bikes were great, we had great food for lunch, I would definitely recommend this if you are visiting Phnom Penh
We had Mon as our guide for two of us, right from the hotel pickup he was full of information about everything we passed. The bikes were in good condition and I even got a larger softer seat which was very comfy. Roads were flat, a mix of concrete or gravel. We got caught in pouring rain, which made it a bit cooler and lots of fun going through the puddles. Locals were friendly. Visit to the silk farm was very informative and we got to hold silk worms! Lunch was delicious, and on a beautiful floating barge listening to the river. Definitely fit this into your holiday or if not cycling they do the tour on motorized vehicles too.
We had a wonderful morning with our guide, he was very informative about the village and how they make their living. Highly recommend this tour.
Mon was a fantastic guide, from the hotel, on the tour and returning. He helped me with the bike, directed me promptly and was very informative.
Mon was patient, friendly and knowledgable as a guide. The cycling tour was fabulous. We experienced local culture, history, visited temples and local businesses and had a sumptuous lunch at a floating restaurant by the river. Highly recommended for those who like some adventure!
The unique perspective This bicycle sightseeing trip offered a truly unique perspective on the area. Away from the usual tourist crowds, we pedaled along picturesque routes, discovering hidden alleys and stunning vistas that felt genuinely off the beaten path. It was an exhilarating way to connect with the surroundings, allowing us to appreciate the intricate details of local life and architecture up close. Our guide was exceptional, striking the perfect balance between informative narration and giving us space to simply enjoy the ride. The blend of gentle exercise and fascinating discoveries made for an unforgettable day. For an authentic, active, and deeply rewarding sightseeing adventure, look no further!
Very good tour. The bike riding tour was different but still fun. I dont think I ever rode a bike for 5 hour but it was good exercise. The heat may be a battle depending of the time of year you go. But overall I recommend this tour if you want a challenge and you have stamina
such an incredible experience, you take a lovely route across the entire island and stop off at many different points, cold water is provided along the way when needed so there is no need to be concerned about that. the tour guide spoke incredible english and was full of knowledge
Did this yesterday as a solo traveller. Fantastic experience, would highly recommend. Very informative & got to visit all the local villages, crafting communities, silk Island, pagoda & nunnary. Lunch was at a local restaurant and very filling - big portions. This is a must on your visit to Cambodia.
Absolutely amazing experience. Being able to spend the timing riding and learning about the Silk Islands was a great way to appreciate and understand more about Cambodian culture, the environment and the beautiful people.
A fantastic trip with such a friendly guide, please do this trip and experience what these islands have to offer.. The cycle of approx 21km, at a very leisurely pace, ended with a lovely local meal - thank you to Sey (may have spelt his name wrong) but you were a fantastic guide..
Narin was an excellent guide, knowledgeable and a good sense of humour. The bikes were excellent, with comfy seats. A good contrast of markets, countryside and a great lunch in a relaxing spot. Highly recommend.
I loved every minute of this trip. Sey was amazing. He greeted me at my hotel and booked a tuk tuk for us to the port. We got the ferry across the river to Silk Island where we collected our bikes. Sey spoke excellent English and he so was informative about the island and the locals. We stopped at many different places on the island. Highlights for me were seeing how silk and bean curd were made and seeing the flat Buddha. We visited locals houses and had traditional Cambodian food including a sticky rice wrap and mango cake for a mid morning snack and Cambodian curry for lunch followed by a relax on a hammock by the river! Such an enjoyable morning that I will treasure forever - thank you Sey!
The bike trip was really great. We have done around 25 km, but it is really flat. We've been to a tofu skin and handmade silk production sites. The landscapes were really nice and our guide was great. I recommend it.
Our two local guides Sey & Simon were incredible! They showed us so many unusual and fascinating farming techniques. We had a wonderful experience weaving silk and tasting fresh fruits, followed by a delicious lunch. We covered 3 islands and were picked up and returned to our hotel. Great value trip - definitely worth doing!
Fantastic experience cycling around the idyllic village roads of Silk Island and Mekong Island. Experience local snacks and have lunch on a floating restaurant. I was extremely fortunate to have a Silk Island resident - Pisey - as my tour guide. He's funny, engaging and very knowledgeable.
The experience is very interesting and amazing. You have the opportunity to learn many things about different topics. The guide Narith Sour was super well prepared, kind and organised. I warmly recommend this experience!
How did delightful experience with Nuth as our guide. It was nice to get out of the city and experience some nature and see how people live. It was so interesting to see in detail how the silk is produced. We also saw how tofu is produced in sheets in Cambodia. Lunch was a delight on the river. And Nuth was a delight.
Lovely day out very informative about silk and Tofu making. Beautiful island cycling g around. Everyone very friendly. Food good at a Beautiful restaurant setting. Just wish cycle jad been longer.
