I had a wonderful time with Sam. I visited last time a few years ago and this time I wanted to do something different. He was also accommodating and brought us to the Royal Palace. However, it was unfortunate that the rain was so heavy. However he spent time speaking to us and explaining Cambodian culture. We then went to a market and tried some local food. Finally, the weather cleared and we did the art walk. The murals were amazing to watch
Sam was a fantastic tour guide! Going solo as a woman is always a bit scary, but touring with Sam is like touring with your fun uncle. He took me to local places I wouldn't have gone on my own and knew everyone! Would definitely recommend if you're solo.
Sam is an excellent host, weaving Cambodia's cultural and poignant moments of history. Fluent in English, rich in articulation, I recommend him highly.
The tour was very interesting and informative. Sam is very knowledgeable and showed us nice places around the city and helped us take photos
I just want to say thanks to our friendly tourist guide. We had fun and enjoyed a lot🙏🏾😊…………,………………..,,,,,,……………..
Sam is wonderful! Our time on time on this tour was very enjoyable. It felt like we were on the tour with family. He is now my Cambodia brother! Highly recommend this tour and I will definitely return for other tours with him. See you soon!
Sam was an excellent guide. He is very thorough and knowledgeable; moreover, he is very passionate about his job. I would definitely recommend taking this tour for anyone visiting Phnom Penh. I got to see parts of the city on this tour that I did not see on any other tours and which, had I not taken this tour with Sam, I would not have seen: e.g., the city’s bustling food market, as well as much fascinating street art. Overall, this tour is a great value and a highly recommended experience. Date of experience: August 2025
Sam and the tuk tuk drivers were amazing. Because we had 4 of us, we were in 2 tuk tuks. Sam switched between our tuk tuks at each stop. The one tuk tuk driver we had the night before for the sunset boat cruise. Absolutely a lovely man. I ended up booking when all of the markets were closed for the new year. While we didn't see the markets, Sam was able to create such an enriching and engaging tour. He took us first for coffee and pork rice. The coffee was incredible. The pork rice was so tasty. The locals were super friendly. The donuts at the next stop were so good. We were able to take those away and enjoyed them thoroughly later that day. He took us to a few different places based on a commonality we had with one of the international schools in Phnom Penh. He added the history of the school grounds into the tour, which I really appreciated. We discussed our shared interest in education. He took us to a couple of the markets to look at the flowers being sold on the outside. It was gorgeous. We ended up buying a bouquet even though we depart soon. We saw multiple sites with street art, and Sam had history on all of the locations. My kids are both artists and really enjoyed all of the artwork. Sam was so lovely. He was able to answer any and all questions. He was a wealth of knowledge and seemed to know everyone. We had an incredible time with Sam on this tour. I would recommend him every time. I greatly appreciate the time and care he took to tailor the tour despite the limitations due to the holiday.
Sam was amazing. The tuk tuk drivers were great. One of them we had had for the previous night booking for boat tour. Sam was super friendly and knowledgeable. He knew so many people in the area. Our tour was booked on a day the markets were closed. While we didn't get to see the markets, he took us to so many places to see street art. He also pre iously worked in a school I had visited. Because of that, he incorporated history of the school into the tour. He took us to local places for breakfast. The coffee and food was amazing. I would strongly recommend this tour. If it was so good without the market part, I would imagine it would be even better with that part. Even still, we had a great time. Thank you, Sam. We appreciate your time and care in our tour.
I booked an amazing custom tour with Sam to explore Phnom Penh’s street art scene, and it was such a fun experience! Sam is incredibly knowledgeable about the area, and the whole tour had a really relaxed, easygoing vibe—I felt like I was hanging out with my uncle, lol! He also brought his daughter along, who couldn’t have been more adorable. Seeing some of the city through a child’s eyes added such a fun and unique touch to the experience. Thanks for a great day, Sam!
Whenever I visit a city, I try and do a guided tour on day one. It brings context, history and complexities. It makes the rest of your time in that city have more relevance and enables priorities on how to spend remaining time. Sometimes you get lucky with a Guide. In my case, on this trip, I got very lucky. I highly, highly recommend this Guide for his knowledge, compassion context and humour.
Sam has been very kind, helpful and most of all informative with his knowledge of Phnom Penh. Great half day tour to get a bit of an insight into this beautiful city & what it has to offer. I would highly recommend Sam to future visitors :)
Mr. Sam is a knowledgeable, helpful, and excellent guide. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with him and highly recommend his services to others exploring the city. Thank you, Mr. Sam, for your guidance.
Sam was friendly and great knowledge...he would do d extra miles for ur needs.. he made effort to accede our needs, he check on us to see if we ok on our own
The Master of Phnom Penh!! Sam is a walking talking encyclopedia of the area. We have used Sam in the past for a full day tour. He is a true gentleman a great conversationalist and just feels part of the family. We suggest you look no further than tours with Sam the Man!!
It was a great experience and I will definitely recommend this tour to anyone who like to discover the city of Phnom Penh.
This was such a creative tour where my tour guide, Sam took me on an informal ride on his motorbike throughout many of the sites of the Phnom Penh. Instead of following a set structure, he customised the tour to fit in with what I wanted to see and do. Sam has such an uncanny ability to meet the needs of his clients helped by his intimate knowledge of the city and his connections with local businesses and people. He is a well respected person throughout the city. After being picked up at my hotel we rode to Brown Coffee, a great local cafe franchise. Brown Coffee offers all the perks of the global franchises such as Starbucks or Gloria Jeans, with great coffee and cake, lots of private ambient seating, and free wifi for those needing to get work done or just for general browsing. It really is a great alternative to the bigger known brands of cafes and best of all you will be supporting local businesses. After coffee and some relaxing conversation, we went onto the Central Markets. This really is huge and one can easily get lost without the expertise of a tour guide. Having Sam along was such a boon as I was needing to buy a new portable SSD drive and we were easily able to find within minutes with Sam's guidance. As I was also keen on the property market in Phnom Penh, we then looked at some condominiums and Sam was able to speak to some local workers to gain entry into one to look at an off the plan one bedroom unit. This was a boon seeing a showroom condo which was really luxurious at a quite affordable price. Afterwards Sam took me for a ride around the Koh Pich district where we visited some beautiful parts of the city including the Morgan Tower, which includes the highest sky bar in Phnom Penh. Overall a great informal tour. If there are places you wish to visit which are not on the agenda, you can be assured Sam will be accommodate this into your tour. You won't be disappointed.
Sam’s fantastic evening food tour convinced me to book another tour with him! This great morning tour took in a local market (where we sampled local delicacies including a Cambodian ‘donut’ noum kourng), two breakfasts and coffee and some brilliant street art in a less busy suburb of Phnom Penh. Highly recommend Sam; he is knowledgeable, kind and is flexible in adapting the itinerary - eg we visited a particular temple that I was interested in. Thank you Sam!
Cambodia Tour Round 2! 🔸🇰🇭🌞🇰🇭🌞🇰🇭🌞🇰🇭🌞🇰🇭🔸 Thank you so much, Mr. Sam, for receiving me again and providing such fabulous tours in your city, Phnom Penh. 🌷🌷🙏🏽🌈🌈🌈 Sam has so many stories to tell and information to share about Phonm Penh city. His tours are educational, fun, interesting on so many levels and very rewarding in the end. My tour with Sam opened my eyes up to local culture, the country’s expansive history and even daily life on the rural Mekong island. 🏝️ Join this Art and Market tour to see street art, modern contemporary art, silk weaving, market shops and more. You’ll see that Sam is a friendly guy. Many communities know him and welcome him in. 🛍️🌅 I would personally recommend seeing the mermaid mural in the Starbucks shop, world famous hand designed clothes in The Raffles Hotel, The Gallery - a one room international gallery at SOFITEL, Silk Island weavers in the Mekong Island weaving community and the contemporary art galleries at the Rosewood Sky Loft. ⭐️🙏🏽🌸 For Art History buffs — the National museum is a MUST SEE!! (3+ hours for the museum itself. 🌷)
Sam was an amazing guide! He was so knowledgeable about everything and shared his personal story with us which was so interesting to hear. He was wonderful and the tour was great. Highly recommend!
Sam is friendly and very knowledgeable. Goes out of his way to provide an enjoyable experience. Definitely knows Phnom Penh best spots.
Sam was wonderful!!!! he didn't just speed through the tour...he took the time to explain and share about his life living in Cambodia!!!! to finish the tour off, he got me a AWESOME cold sugarcane/lime sweet drink!!!!

Excellent morning spent exploring Boeung Keng Kang market and street art around Phnom Pen by tuk tuk. When I mentioned that I went past Wat Botum but had not gone in, my guide immediately suggested we explore the Buddhist temple. It was lovely! The tour was fantastic- I got a much better feel for city’s layout and appreciated my guide’s flexibility and responsiveness to my interests. Highly recommend!
Sam was very pleasant . Friendly and the tour was informative . Sam was very helpful and was keen to help and please us . He was keen to make us comfortable
We all had a great time.Mr.Sam our guide was an excellent guide and guided us well.We got a good insight about Cambodian culture. It was an amazing experience.
The tour was excellent and beyond expectation! So educational. My husband and I learned more about the royal palace, silver pagoda, the killing sites, the S-21 prison and shopped at the russian market. Ate lunch and tried legit cambodian food! He’s proficient in english and very funny! Would recommend his tours to our family and friends. Couldn’t wait to come back here in Cambodia and visit Siem Reap next with our 2 kiddos!
Sam took my husband and I on a fascinating city tour. This included the Royal Palace, the very somber killing fields and genocide museum, temples and the National Museum. Sam has so much knowledge and shared so much all through the day including some personal stories too. Thoroughly recommend Sam’s tours.
It was my pleasure meeting my guide Sam and his driver. Sam was very professional with very good English knowledge, even though my trip was very short but I had very good history knowledge about the city 🌆 I can recommend Sam to anyone wanting to have some quality tour short or long, well done Sam and thank you 🙏
Sam has excellent knowledge and life experience of Phnom Penh including Russian Market, Wat Phnom and the Royal Palace. Informative tour of Tuo Sleng Genocide Museum. Recommend
Sam goes above and beyond all expectations as a tour guide, Amazing experience. Thankyou Love Kerrie and Gary 😊
Had a wonderful tour with Channy! She took us around by tuk tuk and we tried a number of different delicious dishes from street food vendors that had good quality food. We saw street art in different parts of the city and walked through a market where locals were doing their shopping. Would not have seen these parts of the city without this guided tour -- highly recommended!
I did the tour with Channy, who is an excellent source of knowledge about Phnom Penh, funny and caring. We stopped to check out the local markets, had a grilled pork and rice breakfast and then continued our interesting journey. We happened to meet the manager of Starbucks who gave us the background to the beautiful mural on the upper floor and down the stairs so I was able to get a better understanding of the story behind the design. We ate lots of great food, chatted and laughed. It was like doing a tour with an old friend and Channy made the day really enjoyable. The street art was the highlight for me as well as learning more about the area and the people around it. The people we met along the way were all really friendly and always smiling (which is always the case in Cambodia, one of the reasons why I love this country and its people so much). When you go down the laneway off Street 240, make sure you pop into Space Four Zero. It’s at the end of the lane and is a treasure trove of vinyl, interesting t-shirts and some incredible screen printed artworks and photos. Local tours with local people are the best way understand Phnom Penh and this was a perfect way to explore the city with an amazing host. I had such a great morning with Channy and I’d highly recommend this tour for anyone with an interest in the art scene in Phnom Penh.
Mr Sam took me on a tour. He was very responsible and knowledgeable about the different sites. Highly recommended.
I have supper fun and enjoyable morning being guided by Sam, it was an excellent tour, I really enjoy a morning market and graffiti tour through the city plus he has a good photography skill I would totally recommend everyone who plans on coming to Phnom Penh book one of Sam's lovely thoughtful planned tours
Great guide, super informative and friendly. Knows his stuff really well and is very interpersonal.
The Art and culture in Cambodia is wonderful. Mr. Sam Ang and his sister introduced the art tour to me on the last day of my 3 day Cambodia trip. Sam was great to explain the story behind the mermaid Mural in a Starbucks that was painted by a local female artist. As an artist myself I was pleased to hear Sam identify the artist and their background. I will definitely be back to see more of the art and dive into the local art community!
Sam has to be the best tour guide in the entire world, he is extremely enthusiastic and a really genuine person. My mother and I thoroughly enjoyed the morning market/graffiti tour through the city. It gave me a real idea of what is means to be a local resident in Phnom Phen. We really just had an amazing time with some amazing people (Sam and his sister). I would totally recommend everyone who plans on coming to Phnom Penh book one of Sam's lovely and thoughtfully planned tours.
Sam is an excellent guide. He made us feel comfortable in all respect. Right from the Airport Pickup, Tour of Day, Guiding us and taking us to appropriate place to eat, it was wonderful. Sam is a good photographer too. He has good sense of photography. Picture clicked by him were excellent and made us to remember him for whole life. Overall Excellent 👍
It is an excellent experience because of our guide Mr. Sam Ang. He is very informative and helpful plus he has a good photography skills. Thank you so much for our instgrammable pictures! 💓
Fabulous morning tour. Visited interesting local markets and sampled authentic Khmer breakfast menus. Got a real feel of typical PP life. Loved seeing the various graffiti and art deco areas. Thank you Sam for a great morning
We would definitely recommend spending time with Mr Sam- he is very knowledgeable and made sure we were comfortable the whole tour. The umbrellas on a rainy day were a great touch!
Today we visited the Royal Palace, the S21 school, the killing field, the pagoda built by Grandma Pengh and the market. All lead by Samang Eng (in short Mr. Sam) He has so much knowledge about the history of Cambodia. He showed us the royal palace and helpt us making very nice photographs. After this we visited S21 School, where a lot of people were prosecuted and killed. This is a very impressive few hours i which we have received a lot of information, saw a lot of pictures and even met 2 survivors. After this we went to the killing fields. Here people were brought from the S21 school to be killed. Luckily people are thought about this part of Cambodian history. Sam knew a lot of this. He had also suffered a personal loss. After this we visited the Pagoda built by Grandma Pengh, also very impressive and beautifull building. Last but not least, Sam took us to the market, were we bought a nice bracelet. We would like to recommend Sam to be your tourguide. He is a very nice person and he knows a lot of information about the rich culture and history of Cambodia. Warm Regards René and Anja (The Netherlands)
The lively Psaar Orussey Point of Sale is also a must-see in the capital. It is spread over two levels and you can easily lose your sense of direction. There is also everything there, textiles, decoration, food, and electronics. Located in the city center, it is an opportunity to share in the daily life of the premises.
I spent a whole day with Sam on a private tour. In addition to visiting a morning market, where I had the opportunity to photograph some portraits, I was particularly impressed by the visit to the Killing Fields and the S21 prison. The explanations from Sam, who speaks very good English, give the historical events a personal touch based on his family's experiences. At the end I had the opportunity to photograph some street art. With Sam you have a nice and well-informed guide. I felt in good hands all day. He is also happy to take special requests into account.
