The directions weren’t clear about the pickup point. We walked all the way into town and back and finally had someone pick up my husband on a 4 wheeler. The Jeep itself was in terrible shape. All the lights were on and it kept beeping at us. I was so nervous it was going to break down that we didn’t dare go far. We rented it the entire day but only kept it a couple of hours. The inside was filthy and not just from a few rentals. I don’t think it had ever been cleaned. I most definitely would not recommend this place.

These Jeeps are not new, they are made for getting wet, and dirty, and off roading. Do not expect new vehicles. These vehicles are for you to take sun, get wet, and have fun, not to drive in luxury!!!

Was a great option to drive the whole island and explore on our own. Jeep was older and was a little worried as had to wait for them to add fluid to vehicle. Felt should have been ready for us before we got there. Overall great experience and jeep operated.
Old equipment, no adjustable driver seat, broken unworkable horn, no driver window lever. No alternative rental jeep available. Office was a shack. Ended rental much earlier than planned. Dangerous to operate. Refund of full amount of $254 requested. Only $138 refund promised. Very disappointing.
Tooo bad I can't give no stars. We rented a jeep to drive ourselves. The vehicle was in terrible condition. Engine light on all the time. Engine kept slipping and hard to go in reverse. Lots of rust inside the car and loose wires hanging from the dashboard. No navigation in the vehicle. No street signs, no addresses, no street names or numbers and no signs saying where you are or what is ahead in St. Maarten. The company's directions were "bear right." Well, we wound up in some of the worst areas of the island. We only found our way back to port port by finally spotting a tour bus and followed them. The worst time ever. Disgusting that they take you money - of course upfront.
No signs on roads impossible to navigate you really need the map video downloaded. No internet service in most of the island. Jeep had every service light lit it still drove but transmission slipped and sometimes i couldn’t get it in reverse. I stress you need the map video downloaded. The paper map is useless. they give you. This could be so much better if the navigation screen in the jeep worked. $200 for one day is way overpriced. When I returned to the company i was alone. Im sorry ATV island but you need to get better.
Jeep was all beat up. Every caution light was lit up on the dashboard. Jeep was filthy. Windows needed to be washed and wiper’s didn’t work. Discrimination said they were 2023 jeeps. Maybe 2013 if lucky. Shocks were non existent. On the plus side it did go forward and backwards
We rented a Jeep for the day and explored the island on our own time. It was a great way to see everything we wanted. Junior picked us up and dropped us off at the port making everything very easy. I would highly recommend ATV Island.
Amazing way to see the entire island! Highly recommend this! Make sure you watch the map guidance a couple of times beforehand to help it make sense!
So neat to be able to explore on our own time! We highly recommend watching the video map a couple of times ahead of going and downloading it to follow the route as it is easier than the map. The group will suggest going to Friar’s Beach which is a little off the guided video but well worth it as it is great snorkeling, beautiful beach, no crowds, and good food. We will definitely rent from ATV island again when we return!
Very easy process from pickup to drop off at cruise ship terminal. Julio made the process quick and easy. He explained the island to our drivers and gave us a map . He gave us some pointers on what to do and see . We were a group of 12 and rented 2 Jeeps and a side by side. Be sure to take in account traffic gets pretty heavy in Philipsburg and took us over an hour to get out of town .
Easiest car rental we’ve ever done. The people were very nice and provided transportation from the cruise terminal to the Jeep and atv location.
Easy, very flexible (booked day of, while at Breakfast on the ship). Glad we found this group. Ask for Julio at the port exit.
Super easy, very convenient. These guys are right next to the cruise ship terminal. You walk out to the main gate then they will drive you to their lot a minute away. Paperwork was just a few minutes and we were on our way with a Jeep. We wanted to explore a bit and go to several beaches so the Jeep rental made a lot of sense. Getting around the island is easy, and the operator provides a paper map which was very helpful.
The vehicle we had was an old 2 door Wrangler. Check engine light, low tire pressure lights on. Hard to load full size adults to rear. Soft top with visors broken off and missing. All other Jeeps were four doors much nicer.
This was the best choice to explore St Maarten and St Martin. Anthony the representative from ATV Island dropped off our Jeep and sat down with us and pointed out places we should see. He hit it out of the park as each place was amazing. Bell’s lookout point which gave a great view of half the Island and Antigua in the distance. Orient Beach which a stretch of beautiful beach with bar restaurants along the beach. Grand Case was our favorite visit as it was a friendly quaint little town with locals and eateries that was just incredible Mullet Bay was another great beach and it was rough but so much fun This excursion allowed us to pick and choose where we wanted to and how long to stay. In addition there were some rough roads that was fun to drive as we were in a jeep
Car in the worst terrible condition. Breaks didn’t work and was dangerous to drive. Location was a mess.
Really enjoyed touring the island with native Harmonie. She is a well educated, informative guide with a deep love for her island. Really makes the whole experience so much better from the eyes of someone who sees the potential and beauty that you see, not a scripted run of the island. Highly recommend provider very clear and well maintained equipment. Great driving and good listener regarding passenger preferences.
The people who run it are very nice. Got a ride from port to vehicle location. It was in an ATV and was cool. Jeep was a little well used but got us around without issue. Julio at the port is the man. I would use them again.
We had an awesome day touring both sides on the island. Julio and his crew was extremely courteous and helpful. Explained the map of the island so we had no problems. Definitely the way to go with unguided drive. Would do again.
Julio and his colleagues were great. They provided round trip transportation between their shop and the ship. They also explained the workings of the jeep and offered suggestions for places to stop. The jeep had air conditioning, which we hadn't expected, but was missing the inside rear view mirror. It did have two outside mirrors so that worked out. The four of us and our gear were comfortable and had plenty of space. We went around the entire island, exploring side roads to find what had been recommended as well as others for our own curiosity. We had a fun day. The only wish would have been for a bigger and a bit more-detailed map.
Jeep had 1/4 tank of gas when we got it, missing rear view mirror, ripped up steering wheel, cuts in drivers seat cloth, check engine light on, dirty inside with what appeared to be drug paraphernalia, half drank Gatorade in back cup holder, crap everywhere, sand everywhere. I have photos. Brakes were squishy and we worried they would go out. We were not given any information on where to go. We were given a map but it did not say where we were and it was impossible to follow. We quickly returned the jeep after 45 minutes. Got a taxi and we were able to have a good day on the island after a bad jeep experience. Do not book!! Hard to find where to meet Julio, he took my husband on a scooter far off while grandmother and two small kids waited in the hot sun for about 20 minutes.
Great way to see the island on your own time! They provided a map and good directions for spots we planned to visit. The staff was friendly and pickup/drop off at the port was prompt.
One of the best ways to go around the island. We have done the atvs also from them, so decided to do the Jeep this time and it was amazing. The customer service from these guys is great and they are so helpful and informative it’s great. I’d recommend doing the Jeep or even at from them for sure. Next we want to do the buggy. Looks amazing.
All in all, OK. However, the Jeep was "through" - all the lights on the dashboard were on, tires were slippery - things like that shouldn't be allowed to go out again.
