Vip Swan Valley Wine Tour - Premium Small Group Wine & Gourmet Experience

We did a recent tour with Tim last week on the VIP Swan Valley Wine Tour. It was a great day all round. The wineries chosen by Tim were all exceptional wine, not large mass produced poor quality wines. All family run estates with a real Swan Valley experience. Lunch was great to be able to select what you wanted. Highly recommend, the smaller group of 7 of us, was a great bunch and made the day more enjoyable to meet and engage with likeminded people from all over the world.

Tim was a lovely guide, a very thoughtful introduction and selection of wineries. The small group size was perfect for being able to chat more with the host at each winery and a great selection for tasting. Great experience overall

Wonderful day in the Swan Valley with Tim. He’s a knowledgeable kind guide and took us to 4 very different boutique wineries to sample the chenin blancs, Shiraz, and fortified wines the area is best known for. Small group is the way to go and Tim is the best!

The pickup location details were good. We began about 9:45am. It is a ten-seater van. We had nine on our trip so my husband was in the back seat, which I’ll just let you know is over the wheel base. We visited three wineries, two of which are smaller family affairs so we had quiet experiences at those cellar doors. We had a quite fancy lunch at the Homestead Brewery which took a while as it is a large place. I don’t feel as though the Swan Valley has many options actually for lunch options. We visited the Swan Valley site of the Margaret River Chocolate Factory as our last stop. We did a Margaret River small coach wine tour on this holiday as well and it was cheaper than this tour. I think you don’t have to travel as far to get to wineries so we visited four wineries on that tour, had lunch and the obligatory Margaret River Chocolate Factory tastings. The driver/tour leader was informative, helpful and friendly and we wish him well in the future with his tour business. Perth/Swan Valley is certainly a nice area in which to work.

We had the absolute pleasure of having Tim guide us around the Swan Valley today. Our group of five were the only guests on the tour, which made it feel like a truly personalised experience. Tim was flexible and happily adjusted our final stop, which we really appreciated. We learned so much about the region and especially loved visiting the family-run wineries he took us to—such a refreshing change from the larger, more commercial venues. Highly recommended!!

We had the most awesome day with Tim. He was extremely knowledgeable about the wineries we visited and explained why he had picked them. The wineries themselves had some excellent wines that we would never have tasted if not for this tour. Thoroughly recommend a day out and about with Tim - you won’t be disappointed.

This was an excellent small group wine tour of bou.tique wineries in the Swan Valley outside Perth. Tim was a fantastic guide!!! Very informative and enjoyable commentary. The wines, and wineries, had a good variety of wines but really great cellar hosts. Tim exceeded expectations on this tour!

We had a wonderful experience and could not fault the whole day. Tim provided exceptional, experienced guidance and information and is totally customer orientated. We visited some fantastic small boutique wineries, where personalised experiences were paramount, including the exquisite underground tasting room at John Kosovich. We had an unexpectedly outstanding lunch at the much larger and busier Mandoon Estate. The day was complete with a visit to the chocolate factory. We thank Tim for dropping us directly at our hotel as it was a hot day, but not part of the itinerary. That little bit extra is what Tim's tour offers. Highly recommended.

So enjoyed going to the Boutique Wineries a much more pleasant experience and some very fine wines. My only criticism would be that the place we had lunch needs to take after wineries in Chile or California and step up their gourmet game.

This was a great way to see Swan Valley. We had a small group and we visited three small boutique wineries, in addition to a great lunch at a fourth winery. We had at least 15 tastings throughout the day, and Tim was great in teaching us about the history of wine making in the region. A very enjoyable day!

It was a wonderful day. Tim is really nice, you can feel that the tour has been made and thought by an epicurean for epicurean. Different style of property for different taste, welcome in the heart of the swan valley as you may not discover with big groups ! Worth it, just go for it ! Thanks Tim and all the best !

This was a very enjoyable experience. I loved enjoying the wines and food of the Swan Valley. Tim was an excellent and entertaining tour guide. I’d give it six stars if I could.

The tour is with 10 max participants. There are 4 wine tasteing, lunch and chocolate shop. 6h + 1h there and back. The places, and the timing is very well selected. No hurry, relax and enjoy. If I may suggest anythin, it would be a cheese or bread board in the 3rd and/or 4th place to augument the wine. That being said, this is still a 5 star experience as it is.

I can highly recommend this tour. Tim was great and very knowledgeable about wine and the region. Logistics were easy, we went to lovely wineries and since the tour sticks to smaller producers, we were able to meet and talk to the owners and winemakers. A small tour like this is a great way to experience the Swan Valley. Morning tea and lunch were also excellent.

Had the best tour and day with this company. Our tour guide Tim was very informative of the region, took us to the best small wineries and was very personable. Tim was very accommodating to each persons individual needs and made the day a great experience. Highly recommend Best of Perth tours!

The best day of my trip. Fantastic way to discover the region and its hidden gems. Our small group avoided all the crowds and the big commercial bottlers and got to have personal tasting sessions with the real experts - families who have been making wine for generations. The length and pace of the visits was just perfect, as well as the curated selection of award winning wineries who dont have a big profile. Our guide was a local with decades of experience in tourism, which showed throughout the day. Great value for money, and a very memorable experience. Cannot recommend it more!

Amazing tour. Such a lovely small group experience to see some lovely wineries. Tim was a great guide, and the wines we tasted (and the chocolates, lunch, and cheese board) were delicious. This is a fantastic way to learn about wine making in Swan Valley. The winery stops are chosen with care and the small group size means you get a relaxed experience. Wine and food were excellent, and a stop at a chocolate place too. Tim is super knowledgeable and friendly and we had a great time and met some lovely people. Definitely recommend!

My father and I really enjoyed. Well organised by a knowledgeable and very friendly guide, visiting some wonderful boutique vineyards and tasting a wide selection of wines. Very relaxed day - great for novices and connoisseurs alike.

This tour was super enjoyable and I would recommend it to anyone that likes wine and wants to spend a peaceful day outside the city. Tim was an excellent guide. He was prompt, knowledgeable and just simply a really pleasant fellow. I loved how our small group was able to access these boutique wineries he has hand picked. We had an excellent time yesterday with Tim our guide. Tim was very knowledgeable about the various wineries that we visited and was very approachable and helpful. We had a great time sampling the wines and learning about wine making history in Western Australia. 10/10.

We had an amazing experience on our wine tour around the Swan Valley with Tim! It was a small group so a very intimate experience where we could ask any questions and learn a lot about the region/ wine. Tim was very knowledgeable about all the wineries we visited including about their history/ techniques/ wines etc. so it was a great experience. Also with 3 wineries with a lot of tastings, lunch + a stop at a chocolate place at the end of the tour, it is a great deal and a way to spend your day! Would highly recommend!

Great way to spend a day traveling a short distance out of Perth to experience wine tastings at small boutique wineries. Chocolate tasting was a nice end to the tour. The lunch was superb!

If your after a professional and friendly wine tour than Tim from “Best of Perth tours” is it. My wife and I had a great time on this tour.

Before the tour: Great communication ahead of the tour, I had changed hotels between when I originally booked on the website and the tour itself but had no issues swapping my pickup point to one of the other ones that was more convenient for the new hotel. During the tour itself, Tim was personable and made solid conversation with everyone in the group. Learned some interesting history on wineries in the Swan Valley area and of Perth itself. As a solo traveler I can sometimes feel like an awkward afterthought just tagging along on the side, that wasn’t the case here. Had a great time with everyone! The wineries we visited were well varied in their vibes and history, and of course the wine tastings were good. Got to try some variants of wines that I might not have otherwise picked up. Being in a small group helped with timing as we had plenty of time to chat with the cellar door operators, enjoy the beautiful weather, and the wines of course without feeling rushed for time. Overall I would definitely recommend this tour!

I had such a great time on this tour. Tim is an excellent host and I loved the diversity of the wineries we visited. You really got a great insight into the region and now I have a lot of wine that I will need to purchase online when I get home!

What and excellent day out, tim picked us up.on time and was a cracking bloke and knew loads about the wine and wineries. Has tailored his tour to feel more personal and clear he has a good relationship with the winery owners. He couldn't do enough for you throughout the day. Much better than a 52 seater coach....more personal and could learn more about the wines. Overall great day out great tour guide in Tim would recommend 100%

We had a delightful day spent tasting wines at boutique wineries. Our small group (12) had a great mix of folks from Canada, Japan, Queensland, Sydney, Houston and Colorado. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Lunch provided was delicious and so filling,we couldn’t eat dinner that nite. A great way to experience our first days in Perth!

Our day included visits to picturesque Garbin Wines, charming Kosovich Wines, Faber Vineyards, and a delightful lunch at Mandoon Estate. Tim, our amazing guide, made everyone feel welcome and comfortable right from the start. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and genuine warmth set the tone for an unforgettable day. We began at Garbin Wines, where the setting was as lovely as the fantastic selection of wines that greeted us. Next, at Kosovich Wines, we were again impressed by the quality and character of their offerings, all enjoyed in a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Lastly, we stopped at Faber Vineyards, where the passion and expertise of the staff shone through in every unique wine we tasted. Learning about the winemaking process here was both fascinating and enjoyable. we enjoyed a mouthwatering lunch at Mandoon Estate. The food options were excellent and the estate's stunning backdrop made for a truly great and leisurely meal. To top it off we finished the day at the Margaret River chocolate company where we sampled some excellent products and had time to make some selections to bring with us at the end of the day! Thank you again for such a wonderful experience. Tim's exceptional guidance and the thoughtfully curated itinerary made this tour truly special - we highly recommend this tour for people in or near Perth.

Tim led the trip with a very informative & friendly manner with good background on the Swan Valley wine history as well as detailed information on each of the three vineyards we visited for tastings - first one included a generous cheese board. Lunch was excellent at the brewery & the chocolate shop visit on the way back towards Perth finished the trip well. Thanks Tim.

If you’re looking to book a wine tour in Perth, I highly recommend this small group experience. Tim is amazing and knows his wine! He picked the perfect boutique wineries, shared his knowledge about the region and each winery, and is all around a great person to spend the day with. And the chocolate stop at the end is brilliant!

It was great!! From the booking until the pick up, it was well organized and informative. The small number of participants made the group cozy and fun. Tim as operator of the tour was also very attentive! Thank you for making the trip enjoyable though it was raining all the time

The chocolate factory at the end was quite jarring. That could have been avoided and a extra vineyard added. For the money we paid i expected more wine. A few sips per vineyard was not enough to get into the swing of the event, just enough fo make you drossy.

My family and I really enjoyed this very comfortable way to explore the not so well known Swan Valley boutique vineyards. The tour operator (Tim) was extremely helpful and very informative about the Swan Valley history. All of the ‘Cellar Doors’ we visited were slightly different and lunch, including wine or beer, was particularly good (included). The Tour was rounded off with a sweet ending at the Margaret River Chocolate Factory. Overall an excellent tour choice and highly recommended.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable wine tasting experience, organised and led by Tim! We tasted a carefully curated selection of wines, each with its own story, told by Tim and the owners of the three small vine yards. This gave us a fascinating insight into the grapes, the regions, and the winemakers behind them. It felt less like a formal tasting and more like a great conversation with a friend who happens to know everything about wine. The whole experience was one of our highlights of our trip. The small group quickly bonded thanks to Tim's relaxed chatter and we all left with a smile on our face and a newfound appreciation for the world of wine.

This was such a fun day! Our group was small, and the tastings, lunch, and conversation felt so personal. I enjoyed leaning not just about Australian wine, but also about Australia in general thanks to the group conversations throughout the day. Tim is so personable and clearly put a lot of thought and planning into the wineries he took us to. The tastings at all three wineries were excellent and the personal attention we got added to the experience. As a solo traveler, this was a great way to join others and spend a day in Perth!

My daughter and I have enjoyed this tour. The wineries that we visited were so good, we have enjoyed the wine tasting and at the same time we have learned more about wine. The phase for the tour was just nice. The chocolate factory that we have visited is good too. Our tour guy, Tim, is Super. He always ensures that we have enjoyed the tour. I strongly recommend this tour to anyone who is planning for a winery tour in Perth.

This was a great wine tour in the swan valley, got to taste some beautiful wines in small family run vineyards. And reasonably priced so we ordered plenty to be delivered back home. Loads of food, cheese plate in the morning , full lunch and a chocolate tasting in the afternoon. Tim was a great guide, interesting and knowledgeable and passionate about Perth and the wines in the region. Would highly recommend and would definitely sign up again if I was back in Perth.

Small size tour groups make for prompt timelines. Visited a good selection of wineries from small family run operations employing traditional approaches to one leveraging more on technology. Good wide selection of wine types tasting. Had a good lunch with a wide selection of food and drinks to select.

I can highly recommend the Swan River Winery Tour, Tim was friendly and full of knowledge. All of the wineries we visited were lovely, cheese platter was great, lunch was delicious and the chocolate factory was a great way to end our day.

So great to support a small, locally owned and operated aussie business. Tim was an excellent guide! Really knowledgeable about all things wine and Perth, it was really obvious he loved his job. Fantastic experience. Got to try many styles of wines and find our favourites. Much prefer the smaller group. More of a personalised experience, more opportunity for learning and/or meeting new people. Tim was fantastic and catered to our every need. Allowed us to enjoy the day to its fullest.
