Rottnest Island Roundtrip Fast Ferry From Hillarys Boat Harbour

We got picked up in Scarborough and dropped at the ferry. A quick 45 minutes later at the island we started exploring using the hop on hop off bus that did a circular route around the island.. Positives: Quokkas are very cute. The views are spectacular. The history is great. The ferry was fantastic and the pickup / drop off (even though there were issues) was sorted incredibly well. Negatives: Not enough time to do any activities and explore in one day- Would be good to have an early morning 6am ferry and late 7pm ferry back options.. Prices in shops are exorbitant (rather use the supermarket). Not enough buses (at the end of the day we had to wait for about 6 buses to go past full before we got a seat back - wastes a lot of time).

Brilliant from start to finish. Pick was well manage by guide called Terry I think. Hillary's certainly know what they are doing in terms of the ferry transfer felt very well looked after. the island itself was much bigger thank I realized I should have hired a bike! As it was we took the train and walked for miles. Shops on site were offering great food and gluten free products as we eat gluten free. Georgina in the museum gave us great advice on where to see the Quokka's.

It was a beautiful day, and I had the chance to see unique animals like the quokka, as well as the Australian crow, whose deep, husky call sounded quite unusual. At the same time, it was deeply saddening to learn about the Aboriginal history of the island.

Terry is a legend, he went above and beyond. Very nice trip and extremely quick. I thoroughly recommend doing Rotto by these means.

So easy. On time and trouble free. Unexpected bonus was the complimentary bus service to and from our stay area (Scarborough) . Bus on time with friendly driver both ways.

Great day, however the bar code you are given won’t allow you on the ferry .. you have to go to the ticket office to get a boarding pass.. so I nearly didn’t get to Rottnest !

We have travelled to Rottnest many times on Rottnest Fast Ferries. Never any issues, helpful staff at the check-in counter, easy online booking, ferry staff are excellent. It is great to have this service from Hillarys.

Really efficient service. Much easier getting the boat from Hillary’s as plenty of parking. Friendly crew on board. Air conditioning and comfortable seats or outside seating if preferred. There was a little bit of a wait in the return journey but we were on holiday so didn’t matter!!

Ferry left right on schedule. Exchanging the voucher for a ticket was easy and quick! The ticket window was a short walk from the ferry itself

Rotto Rickshaw ride with Tom was fantastic he was very friendly & informative with history, the best beaches, photos & suggestions what to see

It was first time for me and my partner so we find it fascinating and scenic view was awesome and pictorial

It was a great to visit Rotto and see the Quokkas. As we are not physically active to hire bikes we choose the bus. The day we visited was not very warm but very wi dy.

Be aware of swells potentially causing sea sickness. Nice craft. Affordable bar facilities. Good crew.

Book early for bikes Hop on hop off bus available every 20mins very good. $30 pp. If u meet any of the volunteers they are a wealth of information

Well organized , all staff professional and courteous. Punctual, straightforward sailing there and back. Rottnest was a wonderful beautiful experience . Fantastic coastline . Well worth a visit.

The ferry was amazing the staff friendly, very clean. Seating was great and we could see everything as we went over and back. Would highly recommend.

Never using this company again staff need to be trained how to treat paying customers equal fair and professionally Staff need to learn how to not miss use of there authority on the ferry at 11.30 from rotto today to Hilary’s Came over with 7 friend's for a birthday and refused service of alcohol no explanation no duty’s manager on for rsa service requested to talk to manager got told after staff informed me to wait for them at the bar to only say there is none after 15 minutes of waiting Got lied to from staff Staff gave miss information also

This was great! The experience was easy and fairly priced. I recommend it to anyone wanting to see the Quakkas! Everything was on time and easy to find

Loved this trip, Rottnest Island is such a beautiful place to visit and the cute little Quokkas are everywhere, they’re so friendly. I recommend hiring an E-bike to explore the island as some parts are quite hilly

It would be good to inform guests in advance about the ride to Rottnest. I vomited twice on the ferry as it was a choppy ride. The weather was bad and it was raining. We should have been told earlier so we could take seasickness pills beforehand. It was my first time experiencing something like that.

perfectly on time, friendly staff, smooth ride... a bonus would have been a slightly warmer cabine on a sunny but cold early morning in July

The boat arrived on time, was very clean & had a bar service. It took about 45 min to get to Rottnest island. There were 4-5 ft swells on the day we went, so if you get seasick, I would wear a patch. Several people were sick during our trip. Even with the swells, the boat ride was pretty smooth. The boat was there on time to take us back.

Great ferry trip over and back. About 45 minutes. Plenty of seats inside and out. A small snack bar/Cafe. Toilets were nice and clean. Really easy to get on and off especially with small children. Highly recommend.

Changing ferry times was not a problem. Didn't have to wait in a massive queue when I called to make the change. Friendly and helpful staff. Wish airlines could be like this.

Rottnest Fast Ferries was very good. The trip was about 45 minutes. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Loads of shady areas. The toilets were very clean and the snack bar was a great addition for food and drinks. Definitely book again with Rottnest Fast Ferries.

Not much there but we did enjoy lunch and the hop on hop off bus. Lots of cycling to be done although it's pretty hilly.

Smooth experience from beginning (booking) to end! I highly recommend that anyone visiting Perth spend a day on Rottnest Island (and book e-bikes online ahead of time to avoid a long line--(and the Pedal & Flipper running out!)

Enjoyable day, staff were friendly and helpful and Gerry was clean and comfortable. The island was great. Just one thing to bare in mind is if you are sensitive to motion sickness get ready, the ride to the island was probably one of the worse when it comes to rocking and I got motion sickness for the first time, so make sure to take some anti motion sickness medication to help. Otherwise definitely recommend, thanks

Nice and easy pick up. Got our bikes, helpful staff. Upon arrival to the island we were left to our own plan and spent the rest of the day cycling round the island and exploring the beaches. 110% would recommend and will be back myslef!

Excellent speedy option for a visit to Rotto. Very friendly and efficient service. Make sure to arrive early as there is a short walk from “checking desk” to vessel.

The island is beautiful and we enjoyed our day trip. The only one thing that spoilt it was the bus, they crammed so many people on it was like the London tube at rush hour.

Very relaxing beautiful day n just enjoyed everything there.. Nice pub meals. Seen some Quokka s great day for a swim n water was nice & cool.

We Booked a Group Booking for 30 ladies for 4 nights From the time we Booked, ferry journey and travel we had the best experience ever . The staff were amazing.

Time table option that suits needs. On time, very efficient. Smooth ride. Great staff and very well-equipped boats. What more can you ask for.

That is something they should do while in Perth. The island it's absolutely beautiful, and the weather was great!

Have never had a problem with this company, this trip we took my 84 year old father to Rottnest for his first ever visit. The crew were very attentive as he was in a wheelchair and were quick to ask if we needed any assistance. They also recognised us on our return trip and asked how his day day gone. Would highly recommend.

I hadn't considered visiting Rottnest Island until my granddaughter asked to go for the day. The staff were outstanding, explaining that if I joined the children's club, my granddaughter could travel for free. We booked our tickets and hired bicycles, and were pleased to find that our booking could be transferred with just an hour's notice. The staff were incredibly polite and knowledgeable, making the whole transaction extremely simple. We even took advantage of the flexibility to change our times and catch the last ferry back after having such a great time. Thank you to the staff for their excellent service.

Enjoyed the day at Rottnest Island. I had a incident with a driver I asked him "Can I make a suggestion" Before departing from each stop can you take a moment to ensure people trying to sit down sit before taking off as you jerked the bus taking off my husband slipped and we caught him. The driver from D99 approx 2.45p said I dont have time to check its not my responsibility, yet when we went to speak to Anna in the box office and report the incident bus D99 was still sitting there for about 15 minutes. As we used to own a bus company ourselves it is in the best interest of the driver and Company to have some duty of care to ALL passengers. This was not the case with this driver very surprised with his whole attitude as a driver. Is it common practice for drivers NOT kneeling the bus as 3 x bus drivers had not idea to do this and this made it a bit difficult for some passengers to enlight the bus.

Great trip. Ferry was very nice and fast. Rottness was great and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Will definitely return

It was great! My son and I really enjoyed this trip. The day was a bit of rainy and hot but I definitely recommend it!!
