Pick up from hotel was convenient. Picked up bike at Hilarys then transferred it onto ferry and off again. With hindsight I might have been better off picking up a rental on the island where there was a range of options including ebikes. The bike I had was poor. The back brakes didn't work and it was not suitable for my size. I spent the whole ride hunched over trying to steer. That aside, I really enjoyed the ferry trip and the island. There were masses of people but we unloaded and reloaded at the end of the day quite efficiently.

Amazing fab weekend with the family. What a beautiful place
Had a two day stay booked on Rottnest. They cancelled our return ferry the night before due to “weather”. It was not bad weather at all and other companies still ran. They rebooked us on another ferry and lost our luggage. They told us they’d call us when it arrived and they never did. We had to drive back to Hillarys the next day to collect our lost bags. The staff at the counter were very rude. There was another family there who lost their bags too filling out forms. Pretty poor customer service all round given there were less than 50 people on the ferry! It was pretty clear they cancelled ours due to lack of customers. Now we know why!
Had a great experience! I really enjoyed the ride, even though I’m usually not a fan of ferries. Everything was well organised, and the journey was smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend!
Rottnest Island was a great day out - such a beautiful place to visit. Rottnest Fast Ferries made the experience so easy. Great communication when booking and clear instructions. Bus transfer driver was knowledgeable, friendly and really helpful in giving the best drop off point. Ferry ran on time and was comfortable and efficient. Would definitely recommend them as your ferry company if travelling to Rottnest.
Prefectly organised day. Bikes are prepared for the customers at the ferry. On the island it is Pretty impossible to miss the quokkas. They were mostly located around the main settlement’s shops and eating area. We departed and arrived as it was indicated on the itinery.
We spent an amazing day on Rottnest Island. I have booked the tickets less than 24hrs in advance and had a few questions after I received the confirmation. The lady on the phone was very helpful and answered all my questions.
Efficient process getting to and from Rottnest with bikes. The ride was smooth and the crew were friendly.
Excellent service from initial contact with the girls at the counter in the morning to having the bikes and snorkel equipment ready and labelled with our names. Having the knowledge also that if we needed any help throughout the day on the island we knew who to contact. Bikes were in good condition. Options for an earlier ferry on the day as they had laid on an extra service. Staff around on the boat if needed and the option of drinks at the bar was very welcome in hot summer conditions. Free parking at Hillarys' Boat Harbour is also a big plus. I can definitely say this was the best day excursion I have ever been on due to the smooth running all day and friendliness of the team and of course you are on ONE AMAZING island. A credit to the company
Very enjoyable and nice experience with friends and enjoyable with cycle and beach with close freiens
need better bikes,....20 year old five speeds is not what you need for the hills of this island and wind....there were no options to upgrade.
The whole experience was great, from pick up to drop off. This company has a very efficient way of providing everything from picking up your bikes, getting everything off and on the ferries in a well drilled operation. I was very impressed with everything, thank you
We booked this tour in April 25 for our trip in November 25. Everything ran very smoothly and we had a great time cycling around the island. Our bikes were in good condition and worked as they should - we were able to do two of the cycle routes in the time we had, very leisurely, with plenty of time for swimming and sight seeing. It was very easy to see the island and learn about each site with the provided map and signs everywhere. Highly recommended tour for if you want to go at your own pace! Also completed this with a teen in tow with zero complaints (a miracle, right?). Booking through Viator was also super easy, and communication about our tour was as they said it would be. I also booked three other tours through this website and all ran just as smoothly.
Great company and well organised. Picked up bikes from Hillarys boat harbour, which then we're loaded onto fast ferry by the staff. It took 45 minutes journey to Rottnest island. Great staff. easy process from start to finish.
well organised an being picked up at hotel!! I saw dolphins and my first snake i nearly drove over her. Silly me I forgot my snorkel gear. A must bring... to enjoy lonely beaches and the water.
Seamless boarding, from ticketing, bike pick-up to seating. Very quick transition onto the island. Fantastic day on Rottnest and return journey was terrific.
Excellent communication and very responsive helpful staff in the planning. Bikes were in great condition, all staff on the day were warm and friendly. We had a great day. Well priced. Recommend
The event was great. Viator takes care of all the details. Viator makes sightseeing seamless! However there are some hills on the island so I would suggest renting an e-bike. The hop-on/hop off bus seemed like a good option as well.
A great way to explore Rottnest Island in a day. The whole experience was easy and well coordinated, from hotel pick up and bike hire, to the fast ferry there and back.
Great value for money. Got collected from a nearby hotel, a ferry over to the island with bike hire. Back in Perth around 6pm. A great day out ❤️
Absolutely FANTASTIC! Every single staff member we encountered was amazing. Bus drivers, ferry staff, booking staff, bike rental… so friendly. I have lived in Perth for 10 years and had no idea how easy a day at Rottnest would be. I will be booking again for sure!
Had a great time. Many more hills than expected . Went bush with bikes- recommend stay on paved roads. Lighthouse tour well worth admission
It was pretty straight forward and service was great with both the bikes and boat. Was hard to find when we got there so a bit better instructions on where the ferry is and bike shop is would’ve been helpful.
Great weather, easy bike riding, fascinating quokkas. Annoying sea gulls!!! Lots of history. Comfortable fast ferry. Ummm!!!
A great trip over and easy with the bikes. The crew are a well oiled machine and had everything loaded and unloaded quickly. A great day.
This experience is a must for everyone. Loved the bike ride to different points on the island. Cruising over and back from the island was smooth and enjoyable. Such a perfect time we had.
Beautiful day to ride around the island. Lots of hills and steep inclines so be prepared for the heart to pump and make sure you have plenty of drinking water. Lots of Quokkas out and about. Beautiful scenery, plenty of lunch options that were not overly expensive in the Settlement.
Great way to see the island, bikes in good running order would of liked to have a basket up front making it easier to grab camera but handy to stop longer to catch your breath as the island has a few hills.
What a great experience. Starting with an on time pickup at our hotel to prompt on time ferry service to and from the island we couldn’t have been more pleased. Reasonable price, great staff and a wonderful day exploring Rottnest Island. 5 stars! Would highly recommend.
Excellent day! Did not need cash for bike deposit, card was ok. They also have snorkels to rent. Very easy
I was happy with hotel pick up/drop off which was organised by the tour. It was nice that bike deposit could be taken by cash or card. I am truly happy to take a bike because it gave me lots of freedom. It takes time to go around island and it is not flat. Couple of water stations but have bottles to refill. Easy journey.
My husband and I decided on a last minute overnighter to Rottnest (my first time to the island). Both if us had no idea on what to expect but were both very impressed with how professional fastferries were. There was absolutely zero issues, all very straightforward and everything just ran so smoothly .. all from the bike hire, to the delivery of our swags to our camp and the time etc. Absolutely beautifully well kept and clean Ferry and beautiful staff ... will most definitely be travelling again
Terrible experience. They don’t have Island support if you have any issue with the bike. I planned a loop on the Island and snorkeling time with my husband who had never been there before and after we got there and rode for about 40 min my bike got flat tire. I called them immediately and they offered an air but it was clear that it wouldn’t work. They told me that to replace it they would have to send on next boat (about 1h) and I would have to take a bus to go to pick up it, however, the bus doesn’t allow to take the bike with you. My husband had to go by himself and left me on the beach. The bus would taken 45min to go around the Island and he wouldn’t make the boat time. For luck the driver changed him to another bus that helps him to make it on time. My husband was supposed to rode all away back to the beach again to meet me. I got really mad and called them and ask them to find away to drive my husband to meet me. So stressful time and we lose 2 hours. We had to manage the all situation of going to pickup from the ferry and back to the same point. Due that we couldn’t snorkeling as our first plan and we had to rush the day.
The whole experience was fabulous, the small beaches/coves are stunning. Make sure you take water and snacks if your wanting to explore Island as there is only a couple of spots to get refreshments
The island and the ferry were great. The bikes were in good shape but be warned, it is a lot more hilly than we expected. Much more of a workout than we thought it would be. bring a lot of water. Beautiful!
Excellent experience with Rottnest fast ferries. Bikes in very good condition. Ferry very comfortable with lots of seating available. Easy check in and out. No problems with changing ferry times. Would travel with them again. Rottnest is beautiful and well worth a visit
Positive: Fast and efficient. Friendly staff. Bikes are comfortable. Could be better: snorkelling masks old and cheap and one was broken
Could not ride the bike because it was not a step through bike and couldn't get my leg over the high bar on the bike .Should have at least two different types of bikes to suit more people .
Booking process, luggage, costs and available discounts makes it a great holiday. New catamaran ferry along with boarding and disembarking is easy.
Worked like a dream. Great day out. Would recommend bike hire. Quokkas are delightful. Good food and relaxing atmosphere.
In my opinion Rottnest Island is a must see when in Perth. The little quakkas and beautiful beaches are stunning so having a full day here is a must. This tour offers the ferry (and pick up from Perth city) as well as a bike rental. And while I loved the ferry and the island, I didn’t necessarily enjoy the biking as it was a very hot day. So if I’d go again I would pick to take the hop-on hop-off bus around the island and I would rather take my time on the beaches.
It was a great outing for the day. My bike was in need of repair. The foot pedal would seize up and make pedaling difficult. The experience otherwise was great.
Loved Rottnest and would consider staying on the island next time…..ferry was great even in slightly rough weather. We hired bikes from Rottnest Fast Ferries- we are cyclists so it was fine but they weren’t the best and some other companies seemed to have better quality ones. Would not hire bikes next time but loved the island
Left from Hillary Boat Harbour. Lots of free parking. Easy access to our bikes. Lots of undulating hills on island. Interesting thing’s to see.
I bought these tickets for my niece's birthday present with her fiance. They said it was wonderful and a great birthday present.
They still have to return my bond for the two bikes it’s a shame!! And i did the tour the 16th of February the 10 working days are passed already! I try to contact the operator through email, phone and another email and no one respond! For a company like this is not a good behavior! In the meantime they are still keeping my bond! Of 50$!!
Very organised tour booking, Rottnest island is a must when visiting Perth.. make sure you take your swimmers, sunscreen plenty of water if riding around the island in the hotter months. Riding around the island is very achievable in a day with time for a swim, food and a drink when you get back.
The ferry trip was fine / well organised going out but a bit of a mess quayside coming back. No organisation on return quayside for 4 ferries leaving within 1/2 hour of each other . One big queue of passengers and bikes with little instruction from any staff . A complete free for all . Why not have ropes showing lines for each like airports ? Anyway the weather was great and we cycled to the south for the ‘best’ snorkelling. What a let down , little salmon bay was crowded with school kids shouting and screaming . There was not much to see in the water , grey and silver fish but little of any colour . It was the same at all our stops. The beaches are good but very crowded. It was nice to cycle round , a little hilly for some so walking was the solution . The settlement provides shops and food plus plenty of Quokkas scurrying for food. It reminded us of a Center Parcs Village with huts around it to stay in ( not as nice though ) and this central area for all your needs. We were probably expecting too much from the snorkelling experience having been to the Great Barrier Reef, Maldives and Egypt but we enjoyed the day out .
This is the best day trip. It’s so organised. You book in advance for your ferry & bikes. Everything is waiting for you when u arrive at Hilary’s. The staff a super nice. The bikes are easy to ride, 7 gears & comfy seats. The ferry is clean and on time. You can do as little or as much as you like on the island. Don’t miss a visit to the pie shop :))). The staff on the island are really friendly and very knowledgeable. And last but not least the Quokkas are adorable. It’s our 4 visit and I look forward to doing it again next year.
This was organised and pleasant regarding transport. Timely friendly no uglys. We overnighted on Rottnest island out and back with a just right fel to the Ferry abd bike service. The gripe we hve is that they combine bikes and snorkelling equipment with a $100 dollar bond. But the bike spring holders drop the good snorkelling gear, leading to distressing back tracks. We tried using our overnight back packs, but they are too small. My daughter and I loved the bike snorkel rest circle on Rottnest. First gear is too high even for fit people, on Rottnest hills. A basket, or fixing the holding springs and a Phone/GPS holder would help, not looking for fallen snorkel gear. This is handyman level stuff. For those overnighting on the island a great place. Wanting to to cycle snorkle resort. Fix up the bikes to hold the snorkelling gear and navigate. Consider bike up grades such as more gears for the fit or e bike for less fit or older. The service is nice effective friendly and timely. Make the bike snorkel combo work.
